Rate this book
JEN LANCASTER has uncovered her true heritage and begun training in the ways of the Omnimancer. But at what cost?

The Guild's headquarters lies in ruins.
Thousands of sorcerers have been brutally murdered.
The Halostone still remains hidden.

Armed with Merlin's journal and a final command by the Guild's grand mystra sorcerer, JEN has no choice but to lead her friends on a daring mission to locate the five lost MystiCrystals before LORD DRACONEX and his apprentice do, for whoever collects them all will be shown a path to the Halostone, the resting place of LORD FEROX, the most sinister sorcerer to ever walk the eleven realms.

Jen and her friends will travel to the farthest reaches of the earth, visit fabled cities of myth, and come face to face with powerful legendary creatures the likes of which only the strong and determined have been able to survive.

Limits will be tested, revelations will blur the lines between friend and foe, and only one side will emerge victorious as Jen realizes that everyone has their own personal crusade.

Continuing the action from Heritage, Crusade takes the reader on even more adventures. Plot twists, sacrifice, and further exploration of the Mancy planes keep this read moving at a clip. A mix of tender and turbulent moments, Crusade is a must-read. Now if I could only use some chronomancy and get to the third book faster.....

“Well, maybe you should have handled yourself better on my birthday. Believe it or not, trapping and hurting someone doesn’t exactly make them want to join you.”

As the second installment of the Sky Jewel Legacy, I think this book was set up in such a great way. So much more action and adventure ensued with these lovable characters and found family.

One of my favorite aspects of Crusade was the different places the reader got to explore across the globe. Different legends were melded into this great hunt to find all of the MystiCryatals before the wrong sorcerers got their hands on them. Oh, and we get to meet so many new creatures! I felt like I was learning a lot as I explored more and more. Perhaps it is also due to my lack of reading a lot of fantasy. Who knows!

My girls Jen and Mira need more time together. They are so cute and fun. Jen is quite the emotional one… but that’s okay, we are not the same and being emotional is okay! Hephalon probably had the best funny lines in this book that reallly made me chuckle.

This story had SO many twists, turns, and surprises. I felt like I had to keep putting my Kindle down to gasp at my fake audience. I also want to note that I called one of the major plot twists back in book one and I am quite proud of myself.

I am looking forward to see what the next book has in store for us heheh. Gotta wait until December though!

I enjoyed this book even more than Heritage (book 1). The adventures, the aspects of mythology, the epic action sequences, the magical system, world building, the banter and character antics, I couldn’t get enough. I will say that plot twists very rarely surprise me…..and maybe I was too focused on certain parts of the story... But I was pleasantly surprised with all the twists and turns.
December is entirely too far away for my taste. I’m ready for Destiny (book 3)!

The beginning of the book had a bit of a slow start setting up the search for the stones, but lots of twists and turns helped make the story more interesting and engaging to wonder what might happen next. Definitely an improvement of the first book which I felt solely focused on world building which isn't bad, but felt slow. Looking forward to the next one coming out sometime in 2025.

This book was so fun! My favorite character is Malcolm. The fact that he’s slowly becoming more like Lord Draconex and doesn’t even know it is perfect. Jenny’s character arc is subtle compared to Malcolm’s and I missed it at first. She’s slowly morphing into a leader and becoming self confident. However I don’t find it believable that she’s able to beat Malcolm YET. She’s not strong enough where her abilities currently stand.

The twists and turns in this story had me reeling. I loved the different places that the characters went to. The authors explanation for the origin both vampires and dragons was really cool. My favorite part was learning more about Diaema. The ending was awesome but it left me with a lot of questions that I hope are cleared up in book three.

If you like:
- Avatar: The Last Airbender
- Star Wars
- Lost Empires
- New magical creatures
- Lost Magical Items
-Adventure
- Riddles
-Treasure Hunts

Then you should check out Crusade!

This book was AMAZING. Holy cow I couldn’t put it down and read it in basically a day. Read this book!

Familiar yet new. Soooo many fun surprises. I expected a few (message me to chat, trying not to give spoilers!) but not exactly how they manifested.

Really enjoying all the Greek mythology slash just mythology in general. I love me some fantasy!

Also enjoying real life tie-ins to things like aurora borealis and actual places on earth. So fun to think they might be something more.

The villain, finally. Thank you! LOVE Malcolm. His predecessor seemed not motivated enough. He wasn’t menacing. Malcolm? You have no idea what he might do. I love that. He’s also still giving me major Anakin vibes and I’m here for it!

I loveeeee the last line of the book. Give me the next one!!! Hook line and sinker I’m so in for the last one!

I liked it BETTER than the first one! There were adventures with friends and family which I loved! The ending was not what I expected at all and I can’t wait to see what a book 3 would have in store. There were plot twists I didn’t see coming in the book. It was great to finally get to see Jen discover her abilities and use them. Great fantasy read!

This is the best book ever! At nighttime, I always get a blanket, some coffee, and music, and read. It's amazing! I'm so excited for the third book!

I learned about this series on YouTube, saw that the author was self promoting and publishing and that the series itself was clean, fantasy, dragons, magical academia, adventure... it was a LOT of things that I desperately wanted as someone who prefers NOT to read spicy books if I can. Right now there is just so much romantacy being touted that it's hard to find a good series or even book that is fantasy without spice.

Not so with the Sky Jewel Legacy.

Coming off the Cosmere universe of Brandon Sanderson this was my second book (after 32 in a row of one author) and the change in writing perspective and style was jarring at first, but after only a chapter I was wildly sucked into the magic of the world. Not only was the world-building very unique, the magic system itself was one I have never seen or read anywhere else. The series had twists and turns that were unexpected and welcome! The characters were ones that made you love them the moment they were introduced and it honestly felt like you were a part of their world. You get to read for several perspectives, which is something I really enjoy, and if you hate predictable? This series is for you.

At the time of writing only two of the three books are out and I am on a cliff-hanging waiting for Destiny to come out. The series and its author are engaging, fun, relaxing and definitely worth your time if you love clean fantasy!

(I am not sponsored or affiliated with the author and I was not paid for my review, nor was I given free books to write it. This series is JUST THAT GOOD. And yes, since this is a series review I did also post it on the first book.)

🍓 Clean story, romance is a side plot
💬 Moderate, frequent use of "h*ll"
❗Death, murder, violence, severe injuries, sorcery (used for good or evil)

My thoughts:
This was so fun! I loved getting to know the characters from the previous book better and meeting new ones, too! The story in this volume was more intense than that in the first one, with new dangerous places, more people with questionable motifs getting in the way of the main characters and a rivalry between the two main villans getting to the highest possible levels! While there were a few plot holes throughout the book, I still enjoyed Crusade and many plot twists during Jen's quest! With only one more book to go in this series, I'm excited to see how it all resolves!

Crusade was absolutely phenomenal! It picked up seamlessly right where Heritage left off, and was a fun addition to my Christmas vacation. I kept telling myself, "Just one more chapter," only to find myself reading ten more. The story kept me on the edge of my seat—if you think you can predict where it's going, think again! The writing is just as brilliant as in the first book. I was genuinely sad to finish it and leave the world Greg Heal so masterfully crafted. Now, I can't wait for book three!

I read this in my hotel while on vacation at night and it was so good I couldn't put it down! As you read you learn more about Jennifer Lancaster and her family and there are so many unexpected plot details and twists you probably won't expect. This book series has got to be one of my favorites that I will ever read. You won't read anything like this. I love the unexpected details that come with it and I think this author deserves so much credit for his books!

Pretty ok

I don't normally ready fantasy because I'm always disappointed but this series was pretty ok. The one thing I don't like is the romance aspect of it. The way the heroine is written makes her seem desperate and it ends up going nowhere. It seems like the book ends on a cliffhanger, so hopefully things can be resolved in a third book.

Well, the crystals were gathered and Lord Ferox was “released”. Somehow we’ve ended the book with more Lancaster’s than we started with and not a lot of actual training for Jen!! The age-long war has supposedly come to an end. So much has happened that I’m not sure what’s left for book three, but I can guarantee I’m not expecting or ready for it!!

Although it had a slower pacing compared to the first book, you perfectly nailed the details of this book, and managed to refine the ever so fine plot. I loved the smooth flow you maintained from the first book to this one, absolutely beautiful.
