Saffron Brooks writes contemporary romance full of heart, hope, and the kind of love stories that linger. A lifelong daydreamer who finally decided to put pen to paper, she’s all about crafting swoony plots, heartfelt moments, and characters who feel real; flaws, feelings, and all.
In every story, you’ll find a world that reflects the one we live in: beautifully diverse, rich with different cultures, and always brimming with love in all its forms. And if you notice a little French sprinkled in, consider it her signature.
When she’s not writing, Saffron’s probably spending time with her family, planning her next getaway, or getting lost in a book that makes her laugh, cry, and blush (preferably all at once). She believes the best stories are the ones that make you feel, and she’s just getting started writing hers.

Marcus MMC falls instantly for MFC Kate. Kate is 22 with a daughter and works at a diner with her best gay friend. Kate was at a party when 16 and was left by her friend. She calls her Mom to come get her and goes to wait outside. She decides to walk to a gas station to use the washroom. On the way there a car stops with 3 guys in it and she is gang raped. Her jaw broken by one of the guys. So first plot mistake is she is found brutally raped and not given plan B to prevent pregnancy? Her daughter is one of the rapists. Next unbelievable plot point is that she does not struggle at all in keeping the baby. She states the baby stopped her from killing herself. No struggle with having your rapist baby is not very believable put on top her Mom dies not long after leaving her as a high school graduate with a baby to raise on her own.

She saw two of the three rapists but not the third because of snow in her eyes just that he was telling her sorry as he raped her. There was no talk about an investigation with her describing the guys she did see. Another plot miss. So going forward Marcus wants her and asks her to marry him the first day they officially meet saying he needs a wife to get his inheritance. She says no than he tries to get her to agree to date him for a month before deciding. They start to talk then go on a date where they get each other off. Another plot miss is this is her first sexual interaction with anyone since the rape and the author tried to put in little moments of her being nervous but it did not feel real in the context of this story. The rape was a gang rape and her jaw was broken she had her rapist baby and lost her mother. It did not seem anywhere near a realistic reaction. They move to sex quickly and again it felt unreasonable how quickly it progressed. You could see the plot twist coming a mile away that someone close to him was the third person. The author tried to make it seem like it could have been Marcus but it did not fit his personality as described in the book.

She goes to a dinner and meets his grandfather his parents and brother and SIL who he dated for years and who cheated on him with his brother and married his brother. We learn he did not love her and was hurt more by his brother’s actions than hers. The SIL is nasty and of course still wants Marcus even coming to his office to try and seduce him. He tells her after it happens which I did like. It was laughable that the author had everyone wanting Marcus. The PA tries to seduce him and tries to blackmail him with a staged video of her fucking a guy on his desk. He sends the video to Kate himself and she knows it’s not him did like that part but the whole another nasty woman wants him was silly. Then Kate’s old friend who left her at the party they run into her she is nasty but tries to preen for Marcus he tells her off because he heard her saying the nasty shit to Kate. This is at an art exhibition where Kate having not painted since before the rape had 3 paintings. That of course sold for tons of money.

At the event they run into Marcus’s two old college friends and look it’s the two rapist’s she saw. She flips they leave she tells Marcus. He reaches out to another old friend who is Don of a mafia. They go and he kills the two rapists and they tell him his brother is the third rapist before he finishes them off. He gets DNA test done and confronts him finding him fucking a 17 year old while is wife is gone. He makes him write a note to Kate and tells him he will leave the city to never return and leaves instead he kills himself. Small separation than they are back together and have a son.

So this had a lot of potential but there was to many plot holes and the pace and overall OTT women who wanted Marcus was just silly. From the blurb I was also expecting Marcus to be a bit more manipulative to get her. He was OTT possessive which I enjoyed but would have enjoyed this much more if it had flowed better and the pace and responses had been more logical.

I just finished reading 'Twisted Fate,' and wow, what a ride! The story of Kate and Marcus is so compelling, with real ups and downs that kept me hooked. I loved the way their relationship developed, and the tension from Kate’s past really added depth to the plot. It’s one of those books you can't put down because you just have to see what happens next. If you’re into romance with a side of suspense, definitely give this one a try!

Twisted Fate is the kind of romance that pulls you in fast and refuses to let go. From the very first pages, Kate Grant’s strength and vulnerability make her impossible not to root for. At just twenty two, she’s rebuilding her life after devastating trauma, and her determination to move forward adds real emotional depth to the story

— Suicide

This book I found myself enjoying. From the moment I started this book I knew that I was going to fall in love with this book.

Kate is the single mother of a 5-year old daughter who she got pregnant with when she was raped. After the event she has a hard time letting anyone in who isn’t her best friend Jaylen. Then she meets Marcus who seems to turn her life upside down in more ways than one.
Then you have Marcus. He knows he wants to be CEO of his families company. There is just one major problem. He’s unmarried and doesn’t have kids. Which leads him to asking Kate to at the very least date him for a month before marriage.

The more that this book went on, the more I didn’t want to put this book down. I found myself laughing through this book at the funny moments and enjoying the smut. This is one book that you’ll find yourself enjoying in more ways than one. Saffron finds a way to keep readers engaged with this book where you keep yourself asking what’s going to happen next. Even if it means staying way too late to finish this book.
