I have to be honest. I have fallen out of love with this series. I loved the characters in the beginning - Paige was hilariously clueless and Dewey was cute and lovable, but now I just find the banter between them rude, disrespectful at times and irritating. It's almost as if they don't even like each other very much, yet are forced to remain as begrudging partners. Throw in arrogant Drucinda, who doesn't seem to like anyone at all and Devon who, for all intents and purposes, coerced Paige to marry him in a loveless arrangement as part of a deal to save her mom. Certainly not doing so out of the goodness of his own heart!
Paige has now finally found her mother, but to save her from the magical coma she is in, Paige and Dewey have to travel the realms meeting characters from some of the author's other books to find pieces of a key to open a safe and get the elixir that will save her life! Of course it's not all that easy, but it wasn't a particularly challenging quest either especially with all the help they got!
The best part was meeting the Graggles - the original Fraggles from my beloved childhood TV show!
I did think the ending was a bit rushed and almost pointless. Once Reed was saved, I don't really think the chapters on stopping Higgins were necessary - seemed like this could have been another book in the series to do this storyline justice and have more of Reed as a prominent character.
Poor last book to a great series. This final book had so much potential but I feel like she ruined it by bringing herself (Nellie h Steele) into the story and making all think they were book characters written by her and not real. Ruined the book for me. Also could have had more in the ending about what happened with her and Devon.

I have never read such a strange series, but it was lots of fun with plenty of imagination. I especially enjoyed the way this last book tied together several series of the author’s books. I am going to miss these quirky characters!
I loved this series but was really bummed by how it ended. we spent 8 books trying to find Reed for is not to be able to see her and Page hey to interact much.
