This book. Man it gave me all the kicking my feet cuteness but also when it got to the spicy, it was the kinda hot I wasnt expecting from how sweet these characters are.

These characters were such good friends before this relationship slowly slowly progressed, I mean it’s a brothers best friend trope so obviously both of the characters, Rome and Chrissy, totally believe her brother will hate them and not accept it if they are together. But.. whatever.

Anyways, they have a great connection, they have great chemistry and this story in general is great because it literally focuses on mental health in the football world. With Chrissy trying to get into romes mind and help him through some sort of therapy, with only her college education, but she handled it like a badass

They fight. Sure, they get feelings hurt, but also they talk through it. They work on it. They treat their relationship like they are adults. So I’m thankful for that.

Anyways, I loved this book, and it was great.

*i received this as an arc and all thoughts are mine*

This book was a perfect follow up to Forever Crushed, I loved it! Amber Paige does a great job with cozy, contemporary sports romance and the thing I love most about them is how incredibly heartwarming and wholesome the overall themes are! I love that mental health discussion is so prevalent but in a very approachable way. I love how each character brings something to the story that really encourages the reader to care about them. Found family is another big element to the books in the Forever series and I think it is done so well. These books bring out all the emotions and just make me happy.

Every time I read one of her books I feel so good after. The mental health rep was done so well. I LOVE the found family, please have a book for Max! The banter and humor between characters is perfect. Chrissy and Rome together made my heart melt and their spice was delicious! I love the ending, it was so satisfying and sweet to see them win. I can’t wait to read another one of her books!

Rome, Rome, Rome.. my guy. You had me crying. But in a good way. I relate to Rome's home life and I wanted to just give him a huge hug. He definitely needed it.

Enter Chrissy. Who gives him the hug he needs and so much more. Chrissy is another relatable character. She's down to earth and loves to help people. I loved the aspect of their project together. I think Amber did an amazing job describing the purpose of the assignment and the perspective of mental health and the help that Chrissy provided. I LOVED the whole premise of that project.

Not to mention getting to see the whole crew again-Gwen, Ash, Max, and Zach. Love them all too. Great family they've got going on.

The ending makes me excited for what's next.

I enjoyed this. There were moments in the beginning where the will they won’t they was getting old but once they finally decided to be together I was here for it.
I loved Rome so much. He was so sweet, caring, romantic, passionate, affectionate, and he loved Chrissy with his whole being. Even though he was a little broken he still had a heart of gold and would do anything for those he cared about. Friends and teammates included. And let’s not forget his filthy mouth.
I liked Chrissy. She was caring, affectionate, and I’m glad that she finally was able to see her self worth and was able to receive the love that she deserved.
I liked them together and I think they were perfect for each other. They were each other’s safe spaces. I loved seeing Rome get his breakthrough, and shed some of that dead weight that was weighing him down. I’m also glad he and his dad mended their relationship.
Malik could go right to hell. I had that Chrissy went behind Rome’s back to work with him, even if she felt that she had to to protect Rome. Seeing him even remotely get what he wanted pissed me off. The switch lead to Rome’s breakthrough and his continued football success, so I guess it was worth it. I like to see the POS characters doing bad, so I wish we would’ve seen more of Malik’s downfall lol.
The ending was cute, but I would’ve liked to have seen an extended epilogue showing Rome getting drafted and them getting engaged

I am in LOVE with the way Amber Paige writes her Found Family. I cannot tell you how many times I highlighted passages and wrote "LOL" and how many times I cried out of sheer joy and happy moments! Amber you truly have done it again!

This romcom is exactly what I needed to prevent a reading slump. I just finished a huge high fantasy novel and jumped right into this arc read and I loved EVERY second. I ate it right up.

5 stars from me.

Chrissy and Rome all the way! But I especially loved that you kept all the characters from the first book in as well. I love Ash and Gwen so much. 🩷 I love that they were around for their best friend's love story as well 🥹 nothing gets to me quite like found family and well written characters do.

I cannot wait for the next edition of the Forever Series! 😘

Gods, that was a fun read! Amber Paige, you’ve done it again🙌🏻

I’m not even really sure where to start with this review, so let’s start with our main characters.

Chrissy. I love her. I love her brain and her humour and the fact that she is steadfast and unwavering in her support for everyone she loves. I would let her pick apart my brain anyday. Seeing Chrissy evolve from believing she was romantically cursed to chasing after the love she knows she deserves felt like watching your loved ones succeed, it was rewarding and weirdly filled me with pride.

Rome is such a sweetheart. His loyalty to his best friend is commendable and his love for Chrissy is cosmic. He’s the ultimate good guy and I love him for it- even if he is stubborn in listening to his body. At his core, Rome Carter is a helper. He helps people in any and every way he can, even at the expense of his own health. I’m so glad he got to a point where he understood his worth and fought for his place.

The side characters are, as always, perfect. We already know our lovely Gwen and Ash of Forever Crushed fame and it was so lovely to see more of their relationship. Zack, god someone get this man a best brother trophy. What a gem. He’s so funny and charismatic and I cannot WAIT to see where his story leads and what we learn about him in the future. I know it’s going to be awesome. Which brings me to my man of the hour.

Max Waylen, the man that you are. Listen, I would do anything for this man. I love him. Hes just a lawyer man making sure his five adopted kids (and Pickles!) don’t get into *too* much trouble. I need more of him. Amber, please, I’m begging 🙏

Speaking of Pickles, if there’s anything on this earth I love with my whole heart- it’s a cat dad. I said what I said. I am hereby starting the Pickles & Korra fan club. Someone get Zack a cat, I beg.

The plot was fun and I enjoyed just watching (or reading?) as Chrissy and Rome figured their shit out. Their love is all consuming. Also, the spice??? Ma’am🥵.

Everything about this little family has me wanting more. The love and respect shared between each and every member of the circle is so endearing and precious. I love every single one of them. I am so attached to these characters, I can’t wait to see what the future holds for them.

p.s- malik get a grip challenge.

I was accepted as one of the ARC readers for this gorgeous book! Forever Cursed is easily a 5 star read! I can’t say much without spoiling the book, but the found family in this book pulled at my heart strings because I saw so much of each of the characters in myself. Chrissy and Rome’s love story is truly written in the stars!! There was so much they had to overcome personally and they helped each other do just that in the best ways. If you are looking at a fluffy romance with a little bit of unexpected spice thrown in…THIS BOOK IS FOR YOU! I found this book to be so healing in many different ways as well. Self-esteem, working as a team and finding a family you can make your own. Chrissy is definitely my girl through and through. She is so strong. Stubborn at times, but gives the best advice. Rome is so broken at the beginning but finds himself toward the middle/end and becomes the all-star everyone knew him to be. Also just a little spoiler…Rome is the best CAT DAD ever!!! My heart gushed over it🥰

The book was very enjoyable and I liked returning to this world again.🧡🏈

I was very appreciative that Chrissy and Rome had a great friendship before falling in love and start a relationship, also that Chrissy was so attentive to Rome's mental health and tried to help him be his best.

The romance was faster than in "forever crushed”, which is why I didn't like it as much.
I would have liked to see more moments at the cat cafe and more cats hahaha.

I want to thank Amber for the arc. She did an amazing job, and I can't wait to read her again.

P.S. the cover is stunning!!!🫶🏻

I received this book as an ARC and finished it in a day! 🫣 It's a very easy read and had a good plot. I love the characters and feel that the author did such a great job creating their dynamic in the first book of the series. I was happy to read about the ancillary characters and have them involved in the plot. I also appreciated the sprinkle of therapy discussions and mental health awareness for both characters. I love a book that has a healthy solution to issues!

I didn't anticipate what the problems would be which I think is important in a romance book. My only wish is that there was a little more substance to the ending. I kept wanting more and was waiting for a big moment to happen but it didn't. I still loved the ending overall but just wanted something a little more.

Overall, if you are looking for a nice beach read or a quick sports romance this is definitely worth it!

I'll never get over Amber's writing. I'm in love with these books! She crushed it 😉 with Gwen and Ash's story and then came in hot once again with Chrissy and Rome. Not only are these stories filled with all of the good elements you want with a love story, Amber throws in real-life situations that people deal with in everyday life. Perfection once again, my girl! You have released me from my reading slump with this one! I am forever grateful to you.

Amber Paige has done it again! This is the second book of the Forever Series and I couldn’t be more obsessed with a couple. I thought I loved Gwen and Ash but Chrissy and Rome have officially taken that title.

I love that Amber writes characters that have so much depth. Because you relate to them, you just feel ten times more connected to them. The book immediately sucked me in and I found myself thinking about Chrissy and Rome so much throughout the day. The spice was absolutely delicious, seeing as Rome is such an alpha when it came to those scenes 😉.

Amber, you’re amazing! And I genuinely look forward to reading more of your work in the future!

ok I wanted to sit on this for a bit before i wrote out my review.

i have yet to be disappointed by a book from Amber Paige.
I’ve read 3 now & 2 have been a 5 star, one a 4.5 (subject to change if i reread!)
she writes such lovable, relatable characters.

she writes healthy communication between ALL of her characters! i mentioned this was brothers best friend trope & instead of dragging it out, Rome went & TALKED to her brother before he did anything bc he wanted Zack to know & not hide it LIKE HELLOOOOO?! can we make that a thing?!

she writes mental health & handles it so incredibly well & delicately that you just want the world for these fictional humans.

she writes the sweetest male main characters. do they have flaws? absolutely. but they are so sweet!

the BANTER & SMUT are off the charts

cinnamon roll heroes with dirty talkin mouths let me tell ya. 🥵

i just love her books & writing so much!!

Amber does it again with a super fluffy feel good romance while still keeping it real and including real life issues that help you connect to the characters.
I loved Chrissy in Forever Crushed but I was absolutely dying for Romes story. I just knew he was going to be an absolute sweetheart with a heart wrenching background. This book will have you smiling and laughing for sure. I don’t even like cats but the quirky cats in these stories were just as lovable as the rest of the characters!

Forever Cursed follows Chrissy and Rome in the familiar cosy setting of Castle Brook University. Amber Paige knows how to attach readers to the characters emotionally.
While we read about the complex relationship between our main characters, the story emphasises on found family.
Paige gives each character a voice, a story, and a connection, allowing you to immerse yourself in the world.
There is a pleasurable balance between characters and plot. They work in tandem, just like this book is both lighthearted and serious.

Chrissy is a smart, independent, and courageous young lady with some anxieties. She's playful and seems like a loving person to be friends with.
Rome is similar to a young golden retriever who knows how to be a charismatic leader. He's protective and loyal to his loved ones. A little bit 'broken' but not unfixable, especially if Chrissy has a say in it.
Their chemistry is as good as Gwen and Ash's, yet special in its own way. The moments between Chrissy and Rome are delightful to read, but when the whole friend group comes together, it's even more delightful!
There is a great representation of mental health and diversity in this story, allowing for a deep but casual read.

4.8/5 stars for me!

forever cursed 🏈

This is the perfect summer read 🤩🌾🌊. I loved the fact this book is not just about romance but also about friendship and learning to love yourself in many ways as looking for help when you can’t do it by yourself anymore.

Chrissy and Rome love story was so adorably sweet 🍬 -I was rooting for them since chapter one - something about friendship turned to love always makes me smile like a madwoman 🥹.

Also loved Chrissy's brother reaction about her sister/best friend romance 👀💖. I’m not telling you much about it but it’s GOOD 😫. The side characters are wonderful ✨.

Every little detail about Forever Cursed felt so good and real. From Rome's struggling with loneliness to dealing and healing with it. Adulthood/ family relationships and life in general is hard and those factors affect our mental health so it’s important to aware it and look for help.

Thank you to the author for the early copy.

Rome and Chrissy were such a cute couple in this story.

I didn't get to read the first book in this series so I will have to double back and read that one, but this was still good. I liked that even for their age, Rome and Chrissy seemed to to have their heads on straight and there wasn't a bunch of young people drama. I liked that Chrissy was able to take a step back from Rome and realize that maybe her wanting him to open up as a part of the project and being romantically involved with him was causing more strain... Even though it wasn't done the best way.

Chrissy is a young woman that believes she's forever cursed to not fall in love or have someone love her back due to her history with men. Though she's trying to stay focused on her studies in school, she can't help but feel a certain way about Rome every time that she sees him. She has a crush on him that she knows could grow into more, but the fact that he's her brother's best friend stops her from advancing on him. Though she tries to avoid him after an encounter at a pool party, their classes pair up for a project where the psych department wants a better look at the emotional state of athletes, and they get paired up. When she finds out that Rome does share the same feelings for her, they both decide that the only they can go forward with a relationship is with her brother's permission.

Rome is a young man that is aware with discipline and hard work he can play Pro-football. Motivated by the traumatic leaving of his mother without a reason or ever reaching back out to him, he feels like it's his fault and that it's his responsibility to give his father the best life since things were never the same afterwards. He knows that he has friends, and they're pretty much his family, but he can't help hat he doesn't believe he belongs. With that he overcompensates in areas, and leaves himself to feel worn out and stretched too thin. When he and Chrissy decide to move forward with their relationship, he loves the strength that she gives him, and how she believes in him. Despite all of that he just knows that she's going to leave him, because everybody does.

Amber Paige did a great job with the characters and delving into the deep emotions that they had to experience in the book.

“There is a before her, but there isn’t an after.”

Looking for your perfect summer read? It could be Forever Cursed! It is the second book in a series, but can be read as a standalone (that’s what I did). There are many references to the other characters, as it is a great found family universe, but it works on its own perfectly fine.
I’ve read The Academy Games early this year, and even though this is a different genre, I was glued to the book just like I had been to the other one. Once you begin, pages turn all by themselves, you just want to know more about this friends to lovers story. Be prepared, you’ll pass through all possible feelings (and have some tissues next to you… + maybe food… I wanted to snack all the time while reading this book ^^).
The tone is light, but deepest subjects linger. That makes the characters –Chrissy and Rome– truly interesting, giving them multiple facets, making them human. They are two rays of sunshine (yes, them both, and you’ll want to protect them, no matter what), but they have to face their own clouds. Mutual pining is true at first, just to explode in chemistry after that, with a lot of steamy reactions.
Chrissy has some self-image issues, but she has already worked on these before the beginning of the book. I like it when the MMC isn’t the answer to all the MFC’s problems (and the other way around), but “just” one more help. Rome, on the other hand, has to face his abandonment issues to be able to build his life –and his relationship. I loved that in this book the most fragile is the MMC AND that he is a sports guy, far from usual Romance’s clichés. I don’t want to spoil, so I’ll remain vague, but the fundamental place of therapy in the plot is great, for the story, but also to demystify it. Like in TAC, mental struggles –and heath– are written with a lot of rightness and sensitivity, which is enough for me to come back for any A.P.’s book (the fact that characters and stories are just what I like helps too ^^).

Thank you to the author for the ARC. My opinions are my own.

Amber delivers again in Book 2 of her Forever series, 𝐅𝐎𝐑𝐄𝐕𝐄𝐑 𝐂𝐔𝐑𝐒𝐄𝐃! This book was absolutely beautiful. It was a wonderful read with complex characters that you can’t help but love, and root for from the very second you pick this book up.

I was so excited for Chrissy and Rome’s story and it delivered in every single way. It was full of sweet moments, witty banter, heart-wrenching elements & mental health representation that Amber tackles with grace & respect. And she absolutely crushed the Brother’s Best Friend trope! Rome was such a sweet soul and I loved seeing his healing journey and character development as the story progressed. Chrissy was an amazing FMC! She’s really relatable and easy to connect to, and she comes in and is exactly the type of person Rome needs in his life. Her journey in this book is really beautiful too - I loved seeing her go from thinking she’s cursed to chasing her feelings with no regrets. Their chemistry was absolutely amazing, and I loved seeing their feelings develop from friends into something much deeper and meaningful. It was just so beautiful and perfect, and I loved every second of it.

I also just love this crew so much! The found family in this series is perfection and I loved seeing all the characters from the first book make their appearances in this one! It makes me SO excited for the future of this series and I can’t wait to read the next book!

The book reads well enough as a standalone, with enough information put in to understand what is going on and enough left out to entice you to read the other books before it in the series. Forever Cursed is a college sports romance following a psychology major and a football player with a nice friends to lovers and found family trope. It’s evident from the very beginning how both feel, but their continue to mutually pine for one another while dancing around their feelings because of the complications it would bring to their friend group: mainly because he is her brother’s best friend.

I feel as if it felt really natural the way they fell. It felt a little fast paced, but Chrissy and Rome both seemed like the type to fall fast and fall hard, so it wasn’t unbelievable, especially since they were already friends beforehand. The scenes where Chrissy gets all giddy is also very realistic in a sense I can imagine these conversations happening between myself and my friends. Though, some scenes where she was analyzing him for class and would really get him fully after, what I feel, isn’t too far of a deep dig into him, felt more like she was projecting who she thought he was than her using what he said to come to those conclusions. Either way, she was right, and it worked out for them both that she went in that way. Another thing that felt just slightly off for me was the stakes in terms of the issues with Malik and Rome. While college students can be immature, the whole issue being Malik wanting Rome to “give him Chrissy” and his whole football career riding on making up with Malik felt really high school, but it is still plausible!

A very adorable read that I would definitely recommend to others.

Thank you @amberpaige_author for the advanced copy in exchange for an honest review.
Chrissy is a psych major in college and has a great family and group of friends. The only problem is she thinks she’s cursed when it comes to love. She has watched everyone find love, and of course the one guy she likes is her brother’s best friend, Rome.
Rome at first glance seems to have it all. He is on the football team with plans to be drafted into the NFL. The only problem is he suffers from so much guilt and anxiety about his past. That topped with his coursework, helping wherever and whenever needed has him running on empty, and oh yeah, he can’t stop thinking about Chrissy, his best friend’s sister.
When Chrissy’s class project has her helping the football team learn about mental health, she is teamed up Rome. What she learns about his past will not only shock her but will also have her wanting to help him. This close proximity, found family, HEA will have you rooting for these two blondies. They are the sweetest.
This was a fun read, and of course I was wondering how much longer Rome and Chrissy could deny their feelings. The romance was well paced, and it didn’t take too long. But I was also wondering how Rome hid so much of himself from his close friends. He suffers from loneliness among other things and dreads going home to an empty apartment. I really felt bad for him and all the pressure he was putting on himself. To add to it, he was being bullied on the football field. This book is a new adult romance/drama/mental help rep wrapped into a great book with many layers.

This book was so good! It was a quick, heart warming, sweet read.
Rome and Chrissy had great chemistry from the start!
I loved the entire friend group. They all had such a great dynamic and I just wanted to be friends with all of them!

I just wanted to give Rome a hug! He was just such a pure soul and had a lot of trauma that he had not healed from and we saw a lot of the struggles that he went through and kept hidden. He was always the first one to help out and so caring but in the process he never put himself first. I was happy to see his growth and how he opened up to Chrissy.
I was rooting for Rome and Chrissy from the start and was so happy once they got together! I thought they also handled the roadblock with Chrissy’s brother well.

The ending was so good and I’m excited for the next book!

Forever Cursed centers around Chrissy and Rome (insert big-time swoon here: blonde hair, green eyes – sign me TF up!). The book also features well-developed side characters with huge personalities.

I knew this book would be amazing before it even hit my kindle. Paige does an incredible job addressing serious topics, such as mental health, while keeping the story lighthearted and entertaining. The character growth in her stories is always beautiful to see.

Chrissy, a psych major, is clearly well-researched, showcasing the challenges in her field along with touching on insecurities and how to over come them. Rome, a football star, brings his own significant baggage to the table.

The way that the characters grow and interact is fantastic. The spicy scenes were well thought out and actually made sense instead of just being thrown in for the sake of smut, and the antagonist character fit well with the theme of the book. There were so many parts of this book that left me in awe of the character development and the relationships between not only the main characters but the side characters as well.

Overall, this book was the perfect combination of real world problems and experiences with the lighthearted banter of the RomCom story we all love. If you love college and sport romance books, you won’t regret reading this.

Ahhhhh! I adored this book! Chrissy and Romes story 💜

2 🌶️ on the spice scale.

I devoured this book so fast! I could not put it down last night and had to force myself to stop. I found it funny but expected when Chrissy's summer "job" forced her and Rome together after they had been avoiding each other. Sparks have been flying for months for them, but they've held back mostly because of her twin brother Zack.

Chrissy is studying to become a phycologist, while Romes working towards his dream of being in the NFL. One of his teammates is making that difficult on many levels, and I honestly wasn't sure how that was going to play out…I had honestly pictured it ending on a much grander scale in a bad way for that character.

I am happy the same crew is together, and it just keeps growing. We got to quite of bit of Gwen and Ash still along with Zack and Max. I had expected at the beginning of this book the next one would be Zack. Also throughout this story another character (a friend of Chrissy) is introduced and I just knew it would be the two of them and low and behold I was right! I'm excited about the next book and to read more about Zack and see him get his HEA. Gosh, I love these characters!

Amber Paige's Forever Cursed is a delightful addition to the series. The forbidden attraction between Chrissy and Rome is palpable from the start, creating a sizzling chemistry that keeps readers engaged. It was originally a little hard for me to get into it, as my nephew is named Rome. However, I got over that quickly when I got sucked into the writing.

Amber balances the tension between the characters with their amazing connection. Their journey towards overcoming obstacles and owning their feelings is both heartwarming and relatable. Chrissy and Rome's growth as a couple and individually throughout the story adds depth to their relationship.

Paige's writing style is engaging and the pacing is perfect. The inclusion of familiar characters from previous books adds a sense of continuity and enriches the overall reading experience. I'm very into descriptive writing, and this one takes the cake.

While the plot follows familiar tropes, the author's fresh perspective and well-developed characters elevate the story. The "brothers best friend" trope is executed flawlessly, creating a realistic and emotionally charged dynamic.

Tropes: Brothers best friend, football romance, friends to lovers, HEA

*I received this book as an arc*

I really enjoyed this book! The chemistry, the tension, even the hard discussions were amazingly written that made the book flow. I couldn’t put it down. I didn’t want to stop reading. I loved the way the story kept growing throughout, and enjoyed the prior friendship connection between Chrissy and Rome, and how their love slowly grew together for each other.

I haven’t read a book by Amber Paige before this one, and I’m shelving all her books on my TBR because of the writing in Forever Cursed. I loved the epilogues. I loved the spicy scenes, which are not over the top but is necessary for the plot, so I say ;)

What I loved more was Zack’s little POV at the end of the book, which can blossom into something more if Amber chooses to write a story with Zack. It would be an undeniable story with strings attached!

Regardless, this brother’s best friend, contemporary sports romance was written in a sweet, romantic tone that just made me keep reading. I’m actually not one for slow burn romances, but this book really poked at my bookworm heartstrings, and I just couldn’t put it down.

Forever Cursed, the sequel to Forever Crushed, has captured my heart and absorbed my attention. I picked up this book and read over half of it in one day, then immediately finished it the next day. I laughed, I cried, I swooned, and I even kicked my feet in the air like a giddy girl with this romance.

I fell in love with the leads instantly. Chrissy, a sunshine and empathetic girl, had me relating to her on a spiritual level, down to her overly curly hair that is hard to manage. And Rome, the male lead? Let's just say, he has skyrocketed on my list of book boyfriends.

The serious take in this book on men and their mental illness is a refreshing approach to how the author tackles real-life problems and trauma. The focus on men also having to deal with depression, anxiety, burnout, and trust issues really helps bring awareness to mental health in men.

I loved this book, and I cannot wait for the next one to come out. I am ready to see how this family the author created grows, expands, and develops. Also, the author has a playlist for the book, which is ALWAYS a plus! ;)

5 stars!

⚠️SPOILERS AHEAD⚠️
Chrissy Willows and Rome Carter cannot deny their attraction to one another but since Rome is her twin brother Zack’s best friend they must keep their distance and remain friends. when Rome and Chrissy are paired up together for a psychology project between the college football team and the psychology students. They find themselves struggling to keep their feelings at bay.

Chrissy and Romes story is full of tension, sweetness, and lots of snacks. They both were able to face their feelings and emotions to be together. I think both Chrissy and Rome had some insecurities they needed to address before being able to be successful in their relationship and you really see that journey in the story. I enjoyed reading this book. Rome definitely knows how to handle a girl in the bedroom. I will for sure be continuing to read the series as it continues.

Tropes include: Brothers best friend, football romance, friends to lovers, and HEA.

I did receive this book as an ARC.
