Rate this book
Calli Everett never expected to spend her forties divorced and retired from her beloved nursing career. As a thrift shop volunteer, she ensures new beginnings for overlooked treasures. But what about her second chance?

‘Sir,’ a mysterious old man, lingers around the shop, sharing cryptic life lessons and unsolicited advice. He nudges Calli to overcome past disappointments and pursue happiness elsewhere.

When a fluke attic discovery arrives, containing a model sailboat with an unusual signature and an intriguing lakeside photograph, Sir claims that not all donations belong in a thrift shop. Someone might be searching for their misplaced belongings.

With the shop’s mission challenged and everything meaningful lost, Calli embarks on an adventure to reinvent herself in the rural town from the photograph.

In Longacre Pines, the residents are humble, the water is sweet, and the handsome town doctor offers the promise of a fresh start…if only Calli can bring back yesterday.

L S Case has done it again! Her endearing novel, Bringing Back Yesterday, has stolen my heart and left me with the warm fuzzies. This wholesome novel leads the endearing Calliana Everett to rediscover her true self in her journey to the Norman Rockwell town of Longacre Pines. Everyone deserves and second chance at self love and discovery, and she finds true meaningful attraction to the beloved town doctor, Peder Radcliffe. This book comes alive with the supporting characters and their wholesome quirkiness, and the story evolves into a full circle discovery of validation and triumph.

Jaunty and descriptive, this sugary sweet, second chance slow burn romance is full of warmth and wisdom. I enjoyed the touch of mystery and intrigue, the setting feels gorgeous and there are plenty of likeable charming characters to root for.

If you like to snuggle down with a Hallmark movie (and who doesn’t?) then you’ll love this heartwarming story - I did!

Bringing Back Yesterday is one of my favorite books this month! This is the second book by L.S. Case and her books feel like warm hugs!

What a cast of characters. Callie, Chet, Jude, and Sir are so unique and well-written. I loved the setting of the shop and getting to know this eclectic bunch. I had no idea such a seemingly simple find in the shop would result in such a beautiful adventure for Callie, and I loved every bit of it.

Longacre Pines is where I want to live. I loved every single thing about this town, and this trip was not only great for Callie, but life changing in so many ways. I especially loved her getting to know Peder and finding her way to moving past her divorce and a time in her life she wasn’t at all happy.

I feel like we all need the Carmichaels in our lives. They are wonderful and full of the best types of wisdom.

We all go through changes in life and this book is a wonderful reminder of that. It is also a great way to recognize that we can bring back our own yesterdays, in what ever form that looks like, especially when doing so moves us forward into something even better.

Thank you to the author for the copy of this book. All views are my honest opinion.

I enjoyed "A Hundred Days Till Tomorrow" by L.S. Case so I wanted to read her other book. In this one the main characters are volunteers who work in a thrift shop. Calli Everett feels it is her mission to find new homes where unwanted items will be welcomed and wanted. She is in her 40's and still recovering from a divorce which took place three years ago. A crusty old man comes into the shop on different occasions offering Calli advice on moving forward with her life. She takes a short vacation to Longacre Pines, a small town where people live without internet and cable television. They care about one another. The scenery is lovely, the water is fresh and sweet, and magical things can happen. That element reminded me of books by Cecelia Ahern who always adds some enchantment to her stories. Bring your imagination and get ready to fall in love with the characters who live in a place you might just want to move to yourself.

Bringing Back Yesterday is the tale of a divorcee who has lost her confidence and needs to find her way back to her own strength as well as love. A former nurse who volunteers in a second hand shop, Calli engages your sympathy from the first page. Investigating the origins of a mystery box that came to the shop where she volunteers, she makes her way to the tiny town of Longacre Pines where she meets Peder, the town's handsome, kind, and eligible doctor. But he has a secret of his own that holds him back. As they find each other, they save the town, and choose love in a world that has made them both feel undeserving. This is a very sweet romance that will appeal to people who love a good Hallmark movie.
