When you're looking for love, a little mistletoe can't hurt.As the head pediatric nurse at Sunset Cove Community Hospital, Adam Locke is in charge of gathering Christmas gifts for hospitalized children. He's eager to put on his Santa suit and spread some holiday cheer. This could also be his chance to get closer to Emma Miller, the local mom who instantly caught his eye.
After seven years as a single mom, Emma is ready to start dating again. She's got just one her daughter always comes first. When Adam asks her to help with the hospital's toy drive, Emma jumps at the chance to show her daughter the true meaning of Christmas and small-town kindness.
When the donated toys are stolen from Emma's bookstore, it starts a chain reaction that could put Emma's dreams—and any hopes for a future with Adam—on hold. Can they pick up the pieces in time to save Christmas, and find their way back to each other before ringing in the New Year?
Traveling nurse Adam has been attracted to Emma and he loves her daughter Kendra but he has to be certain that he’s going to stay before he asks her out. Emma has had to be strong after Kendra’s father abandoned them before she was born and she left her judgmental home town. I love that she manages a bookstore and found ways to help the children in her new community foster a love of reading. She’s attracted to Adam too but when the hospital Christmas donation toys are stollen from her store, her daughter discovers she has a life threatening medical issue, and her ex comes back into their lives she has to decide what she wants to do and if she wants to take a chance on Adam. Sunset Cove sounds nice where everyone supports each other and helps them out when needed. This was a kisses only holiday romance.
This is a sweet romance. Adam is so patient in waiting for Emma to be ready for a relationship. And both Emma and Adam are people who want to be of service to those around them. They both worked to overcome the betrayal when all the gifts were stolen and worked on forgiveness instead. The whole story is uplifting in tone and the romance is sweet. Definitely a feel-good Christmas romance. The story has Christian themes and maybe a little more sermonizing that was needed to get the point across.
Reading the previous Sunset Cove stories is not a requirement This is the second to last in the series. Mitchell does an excellent job of writing this as a stand-alone book while making the reader aware of the community ties and big hearts of Sunset Cove. The love connection between a male nurse and a single mom has its own unique complications. Filled with plenty of Christmastide love and cheer makes this an entertaining read.
This story caught me right from the beginning. Adam and Emma are trying to do good in Sunset Cove for Christmas until the gifts are stolen. The mystery of the gifts and the journey of these two is amazing. I loved this story.
I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
I have read all the Sunset Cove books and really liked this one! Who wouldn’t want to have an Adam in their life? The story was sweet with some twists and turns and a quick very enjoyable read. I love the Christmas theme too, it definitely got me more in the holiday spirit!
Sweet, Cozy Read This is such a sweet, cozy, small-town, romance read. This is a quick read. Moves at a good rate. The book focuses on real happenings with the romance on the side. Love it! I give it 🌟 🌟 🌟🌟🌟
This is a really enjoyable festive read. First up, we meet Emma Miller. She is the manager of the Breeze into Books bookshop. She moved to Sunset Cove, as a single mum, just after giving birth to her daughter Kendra 8 year ago. Her high school boyfriend finished with her right after finding out she was pregnant, as has seen her since.
Then we're introduced to Adam Locke. He is a travelling paediatric nurse who moved to Sunset Cove about a year ago, to take up his most recent post in the brand new paediatric wing of the Community Hospital.
Adam has been assigned the task of heading up the Christmas toy drive for the cove and ropes Emma and Kendra in to help him. Unfortunately, things don't run smoothly and sorts of problems are thrown in their path. Will they ever pull this off?
