Visual Companion Guide : for American Mah Jongg

Our Visual Companion Guide for American Mah Jongg is based on the 2025 National Mah Jongg League (NMJL) Card, the official National Mah Jongg League instruction book, Mah Jongg Made Easy, telephone calls to the NMJL, and written responses from the NMJL.
For play by National Mah Jongg League (NMJL or League) rules, we create visuals based on official NMJL rules from the Card, the official instruction book, Mah Jongg Made Easy, annual NMJL bulletins, written responses from the League, and telephone calls to the League. We focus on rules, strategies, Best Practices, and etiquette.
Dara Collins and Donna Miller Kassman are the founders of ModernMahjong.com, teachers both in-person and nationally for private groups and large national organizations. Many players requested all of our informative visuals in an easy-to-access format. Our Visual Companion Guide is intended as a supplement to learning from other wonderful rule books, classes, and videos and will help players at every level.
We include a specific page dedicated to the 2025 NMJL Card, however, our book applies for current rules. We do not have the date of when the National Mah Jongg League will issue the next Mah Jongg Made Easy. We will share updates for each annual NMJL card on our website, ModernMahjong.com.
