They call her Thorn for a reason. Sure, she can be prickly, but she was also one of the best agents they had. Trained in undercover surveillance, she's an expert at hiding her emotions, pretending to be someone else. Now, as a top operative for Blackthorn Security, she's been handed a mission unlike any other. Protect a reclusive crypto billionaire from a vengeful arms dealer. The twist? She must pose as his wife.
Damian isn’t your typical tech nerd. With a shady past and a revolutionary cryptocurrency upgrade that could expose dark web criminals, he’s got a target on his back. He’s on a mission to set things right, but his life depends on the edgy private security operative assigned to keep him safe. But he never expected his bodyguard to be a woman, much less one who ignites a fire within him that he thought had long been extinguished.
This is a gripping, enemies to lovers romance with some steamy scenes and a guarenteed happily ever after.
Another great addition to the series. Action, suspense and new beginnings. Thorn in Damian's bodyguard. The love of her life and husband was killed years ago on their honeymoon and she hasn't been able to move forward. She's bodyguard to Damian and fake wife to fool the bad guys. A great story with a HEA.
What a roller coaster of a ride I didn’t want to get off of, from the first pages where Rose aka Thorn gets to Damian through all his security measures to the intense attraction between them and then the ending. Rose is a fighter and a very skilled operative, she secures the contract to guard Damian. Rose lost a lot, a few years back and Damian learned the hard way not to trust, the two have issues from their pasts and as Rose guards Damian and shows him a side of herself, no one has seen....can they heal each other. A read I couldn’t put down, flipping the pages till the end and wanting more of these two. The steam and attraction....the suspense....the very capable and deadly Rose...Damian who’s more than a computer geek with layers upon layers to the man he really is. The story flowed beautifully, the descriptions were spot on, the emotions heartache and heartbreak had me misty eyed, the suspense had me on edge and the characters...all of it...WOW. *I voluntarily read an advanced copy and expressed my honest opinion*
Reclusive, bad boy crypto billionaire Damian Clayton is turning over a new leaf, going through with a fake marriage to Rose ‘Thorn’ Wilde will help keep him safe and alive until he delivers his new software patch to the FBI. Bad guys everywhere don’t want that to happen. Scheduled to be together for two weeks, Damian and Thorn talk a bit and kiss for the cameras. It’s a good look and a bad move as they began to share secrets awakening feelings both had put in lockdown. Damian’s PA/semi-regular booty call doesn’t like this new normal at all and tries to quash it. A good read but an error with the PA nagged this reader throughout. Also, I liked the agent being female (for a change). Rating: 4.25stars
Such a great book! Gemma Ford bring us a book that is full of romance but action and suspense as well.
This was about an Blackthorn Security agent called Thorn who goes undercover as the wife of Damien Clayton a tech magnate that is being targeted.
Very much a thrill ride of a book. More about the romance between Thorn and Damien but set in a suspense and action plot. I really enjoyed these two. Both had issues that set them apart but also similar.
So well done. It was a great book to read. Quick and easy, fast paced and romance to enjoy.
Another great story! I love the characters! I will read all of Gemma's books. They are so good I can't put them down until I finish the entire book at one sitting. I also love the fact that there isn't excessive profanity! Gemma is prof that a good book doesn't need to be profane to still get the story to be exciting and a wonderful read.
Definitely my least favorite in this series, so far. It won’t stop me from reading the remainder of the books, but if the next one isn’t good, then I’ll think about not continuing.
The plot wasn’t there nor was the character development. There was steam, but it didn’t hit because the foundation wasn’t there for me to really be drawn in.
Might be my favorite so far, so rich in description of emotions and the chaos and mayhem keep you on your toes never knowing what's coming next! Absolutely love this series!
Good read, I liked the characters and the plot but, like the second one, I found the inner monologues to be boring and drag the story down. Lots of potential with the author though.
