In this review, I share my opinion about this book, which is not entirely favorable. Unfortunately, the story and characters failed to captivate me.
From the beginning, the characters seemed flat and lacking depth to me. I felt no connection to them, which made it difficult for me to get invested in the plot. Furthermore, I think that the author uses an unattractive tone to develop them, which makes them even less memorable.
As for the story, I thought there were a lot of elements that didn't fit or make sense. This generated confusion and frustration throughout the reading. Furthermore, the protagonist, Audrey, was too heavy and unlikable for me.
Although I recognize that this book is two years different from the author's previous one, this does not justify the inconsistencies I found. In fact, it seems to me that this time lapse may have negatively affected the cohesion of the story.
The interactions between the characters also seemed forced and unnatural to me. I felt like there was no real chemistry between them, which negatively affected the development of the plot.
Despite the above, I give this book two stars because I think the main idea has potential. However, I consider that it needs a thorough revision to improve the characterization of the characters, the clarity of the story and the interactions between them.
I would recommend this book to readers who are not very demanding and who are looking for a light read. If you are looking for a story with complex characters and a well-developed plot, this book is not for you.

I didn’t realize that book 2 starts 2 YEARS after book 1!!

So I gather that she was a disappointment to her entire family in the magic department and basically she’s had no contact with them for years until her brother needed her help.

I feel like she treats the cat like a human. I keep waiting for the cat to start talking or for her to be able to understand the cat.

While I’m glad everything got sorted out with Lily and Clayton, I do wonder how often they will be in danger because of her.

I’m assuming each book will be its own storyline of how she is finding and growing within her own powers. So far I feel that book 1 and book 2 have been a little scattered in terms of understanding what and why things are happening they way they are.

I’m also a little surprised that Clayton and Lily know she’s a witch and about some of her powers. I feel like there was a missed opportunity for more back story but since this book started 2 years after book 1, we missed those interactions.

Audrey our resident rookie witch is having enough problems… then her eccentric Aunt and her brother turn up. Just when she thinks that mastering her magic was all she had to do in her day. The day is never ending surprises, her family show up , there’s secrets arise and an unwelcome surprise…Chaos? You got that right! With chilling dream forecasts and an evil force blast casting spells against her friends, she needs to put an end to this evil and find her powers at last or lose everything in the blast…awesome story by Amelia Ross with gritty and fun writing that’s so inviting and perfect prose and characters that are endearing , a friendly setting that her familiar Victor is revealing . Splendid storytelling and so impelling a read indeed! I’m leaving my review voluntarily in my own words.

Audrey Rose, a very novice witch is trying to control and learn her craft. She really only wants to settle in away from her family who she hasn't seen in years and have a normal life with her cat Victoria. But when her boyfriend, walks out on her all of a sudden unexplainably and her best friend starts acting weirdly, something is happening. When she has an awful premonition that her best friend is going to die, she knows she has to do something using her powers with her cat's help. Then when her Aunt Phoebe and her brother show up out of the blue and need her help, things really get crazy. This is a fun, entertaining read that keeps you turning pages. I love this series so far! I received an ARC of this book but the opinions expressed here are strictly my own.

Family, frienship and challenges

I read both books from this series and even though both are goods, I didn't think they were from the same series as I did not really see a link between the two, except from the name of the characters...  Maybe the author is looking at having the books more like standalones?  Not sure but no matter, I liked it!  Right from the start you jump into the emotional action with the main character Audrey, facing challenges. And she is the one fighting for what's important to her.

OH WOW this was a great book. I enjoyed this story and it was fun to read. I was on the edge of my seat and I couldn't even put it down. Audrey has powers and she didn't what to do with them. Then her Aunt and brother was showing her how to used her powers but it was a big responsible that she have to look out for in a positive way. Her powers will get her into trouble and chaos.
I highly recommend this book and you won't be disappointed . I received advance copy of this book via Bookfunnel and am voluntarily leaving my honest review. Trina Jones

This is the second book in the series, and it's a good idea to read the first book, Witchful Thinking, before reading this one, or the beginning might not make much sense. This book appears to be written for a high-schools or young adult interest level, so it didn't fit my reading style. I'm sure that a younger reader would enjoy it. WOW! This is a story that is tied up in a family of witches, even if Audrey doesn't really want to practice. Someone is going have her family members and also her friends, so the only way to keep everyone safe she has to open and use her powers. Things happen quickly and not really how you have them in your head that they should, but boy do they happen. If you like a witchy, paranormal story this is one you need to read.

This is the 2nd book of An Audrey Rose Cozy Mystery. This is a good book on a witch who tries not to be involved in her families' issues, but someone is causing her boyfriend and best friend to spy on her. She finds out that her brother is "the King" of their realm but there is a storm coming. In the middle of the book, you think it is all over that it was all solved, but it isn't.

A nice short book, but some details were not included which were likely in the author's head, but not in the book. Even though I had read the first in the series as well, at times you had to guess where the link or jump in time came from.
The writing style of the book has a young adult or maybe high school feel to it, so it might explain why it didn't quite match my reading style.
But I still liked reading it, so if you like witchy things, give these books a go!

Exciting story!

I really enjoyed this story about a witch, her cat with no magic, her boyfriend, her friend and her magical family. There’s a bit of everything in this story, from fear and danger to a young witch overcoming her fear and accepting herself for who she is and the power she has. I can’t wait to see what Audrey and Victoria get into next. Love Victoria by the way.

There was a story here but I fear I did myself a disservice by not reading the first book before this one. So, as a result, I did feel lost as to the story line. Seems interesting though. I will have to go back and read book #1 most definitely.

I received an ARC of this book. I enjoyed it very much full of witchy, suspenseful charm. Fun filled characters. I loved Aunt Phoebe although she didn't come into the story until close to the end. I'm hoping that the author will have her in more stories. She is quite a character.

While the plot was well written, parts did leave me a little confused, more than likely because I hadn't read the previous book.

Looking forward to reading more by this author.

Interesting story about being your own person and developing your gifts. The importance of being honest with yourself and family loyalty are woven into the tale. A good story I enjoyed very much. I received my copy as a gift.

I got this book and failed to see that it was Book 2. Needless to say, there were some things that I did not understand. I still enjoyed the story, but I will probably need to read the first book to truly know what is going on. Recommend reading but read Book 1 first.

Family secrets can be deadly. Audrey finds herself alone with her cat, Victoria, trying to help her friends before it is too late. Things are not as they seem in this twisty paranormal cozy. This book can be read as a standalone.

Loved Audrey and Aunt Phoebe, what a character. There's plenty of witchy goings on as well as a mystery to solve - it's very entertaining, especially Victoria, the cat. Highly recommend.
