TAILGATING:
1. Roads: continue driving the speed limit until you reach a safe spot to pull over. Let the person behind pass especially if you are driving slow or you get nervous. Both parties will be happy. Especially if you have a long line behind you. If a person beeps his horn or flashes his lights, just get out of the way. You don’t know what he’s going through.

2. Highway. NEVER EVER EVER go the same exact speed on a 2 lane highway. Especially if you aren’t driving the speed limit. Speed up, pass the person on the right and immediately get over in the right lane. So many people do this in MI up north.

NEVER PLAY JUNIOR POLICE AND “IGNORE” THE TAILGATING BY CONTINUING THE SPEED LIMIT. GET OUT OF THE WAY. This is how road rage gets people killed.

Ok basic book with graphics. Nothing on defensive or offensive driving.

I like that the book is colorful and written in an easy-to-read manner since it's geared toward teens and first time drivers. The information inside seemed mostly good too, but I don't have much of a point of comparison. I heard this book doesn't go into defensive driving, but I don't know what that is specifically, so I don't know if the content does touch on it.

The main issue I have is sometimes, I think some real-life car pictures would help like when describing a certain button or lever. But my main parts I liked were its writing style and going over things like road signs and cases like accidents and such.

Overall fine for me, though I think there's probably better books out there too.

This is an excellent tool for a new teen driver! It covers everything from basic car maintenance to how to pass other cars on the road. I was impressed with the illustrations and the quality of the book. I was also impressed at how well the narration held my attention, even when the content could be considered "dry." There is a Table of Contents, Glossary, and an Index - so looking up a specific topic is super easy! This is a definite recommendation for any new driver!

It's a great gift, too, as it has a spot to write all the important info a driver would need in an emergency, and a pocket for all the car paperwork. And it's small enough to fit in the glove compartment!

This is a very basic guide to driving. Even a brand new motorist will already know half of its contents. It’s also missing topics like what to do at a blinking yellow arrow, how to get free when stuck in sand or mud, and how to deal with an overheating car.
Get an old Drivers Ed textbook instead. You can easily find one at a thrift store or eBay.

This would be great for a new driver, but I must say even I learned some things reading this.
