This book was refreshing. I did not think I would ever say that about a book regarding finances. I hate talking about money and the Bible. It's always the same; give more, trust God, here are the same 12 Bible verses... blah, blah, blah. They always make me feel like a jerk. Seth doesn't make me feel like a jerk. This book is about spiritual formation first, and finances second; meaning, it is abundantly clear that more than anything, Seth wants you to come away from his book knowing more of God than anything else. Your finances; the things God has entrusted to you are important, but most of all Seth invites the reader to simply reflect on things that matter most to God, and this isn't always about our bank account. There were delightful reflections of verses I did not expect to see in such a book, and very practical ways to improve your financial situation without guilt-tripping you into more and more giving. In nearly each chapter, Seth provides a parable or practical story that paint a vivid picture of what could be, and a glimpse of the good life that I believe God desires for each and every one. I found that I really looked forward to seeing what new practical story he would produce next. Lastly, I appreciated that the chapters were less than 20 pages, digestible, reflective, and didn't beat me over the head with passages I've heard a million times. Seth does a masterful job of laying out a Biblical Path to Financial Freedom that every disciple would benefit from perusing, and a journey they would be grateful to have taken.
