This was full of action and really fast paced. The main characters have been through so much like there was obstacle after obstacle and they definitely deserved their happily ever after.
You can feel how much those two loved each other and it was extremely heart warming. I especially loved Senan’s character development in this book . Allette ( the FMC ) was so courageous and I loved how she handled what was thrown at her. The side characters were fun too epically braith’s family.

How do I move on from this book?!

Jenny promised to fix everything she left ragged and bleeding out at the end of Bound By Gravity and boy, does she deliver! BUT she bloody well makes you work for it!

This book was a rollercoaster ride of emotions, ups, downs, laughter, crying, gasping, screaming. Every time I pick up a new book by Jenny I am reminded of why I love her writing so much. She balances banter and humour with sorrow and devastation, and sprinkles it all with some romantic spice to keep you reading through the trauma.

Jenny's characters are perfection, her villains are evil, nasty, but with clear motivation - even if we don't agree with them! I hate them, and yet on a deeper level I can recognize their flaws in the villains in our own world, which makes it that much more poignant. The banter between the Vale brothers, and even with the other characters is so well placed to give a much appreciated lightness to some of their tougher moments in this story. I can't wait to find out who the next books in the series will feature, and I have an inkling we may have seen the seeds begin to be sown in Freed.

Jenny says that she believes HEAs should be hard won and deserved, and Senan and Allette do fight to the very end to claim theirs. Their HEA may not be what they originally hoped for or expected for themselves, but I think it all worked out quite perfectly for them by the epilogue.

Five. Amazing. Stars. This series is literally everything and book two delivered an amazing story from top to bottom. This story started where Bound by Gravity left off (which was a devastating cliffhanger) and was packed full of action and plot throughout the entire book. Something that I deeply appreciated was that the world building evolved so seamlessly through this book and finally the pieces of information from Bound, really started to come together. The use of the caste like system and how the crown controls all aspects of their society was really well done.

Now let’s get down to the real star of this, and it’s the romance between our MMC (Senan) and our FMC (Allette). Their tragic story of being star crossed lovers and the intense real life experiences unfolded in such a redeeming way in this book. Their chemistry, spice, and banter is like everything! Allette is smart, strong, and fiercely devoted to Senan. Senan, he is not your “stereotypical” Romantasy book boyfriend, but he is every bit as incredible and swoon worthy. He’s deeply flawed and is really held back by himself, but to see him come full circle was amazing. Go read this right now because you will have yourself broken and pieced back together in ways you would never expect!

4.5 ✨ 2.5 🌶️

We start where we left off. What a whirlwind this whole book was!

I loved that we dont get a second act breakup but still there is so much heartache! So many truths are revealed which had me mind blown. I loved that we got to explore more of the magic and so many new elements were introduced. I was also pleasantly surprised that the romance never felt dull. Senan is so funny and cheeky. Like mentioned previously I love that hes not made to be invincible which is so different and refreshing .

I loved all the new characters. The Nightingales! Also seeing more of Aeron!

I loved the ending conclusion. Very satisfying and raw. The fact that the author does not fear killing off characters was actually so shocking 😳. I was at the edge of my seat with my little heart breaking! Jeston? 👀

Things i didn’t love. Mid book felt like it dragged on a tiny bit.

I am so intrigued on who the next duology will be about and will definitely be reading it!

🎧 the audio again was amazing!

After the tragic ending in Bound by Gravity, my heart was shattered into a million tiny fragments, which I was sure could not be repaired. Other books tried to patch things up, but they never could. I was rabidly yearning for the ending to this story since I finished BBG. Freed From Gravity put me all back together again. We get to see Senan and Allette overcome every obstacle to reach their happily every after, including banishment, betrayal, lies, corrupt government, societal breakdown, and opposing forces completely out of their control. The banter was top notch, as we’ve all come to know and love from this author. And the spice was absolutely electric. The chemistry between them is absolutely palpable.

Moral of the story: Love always wins.

But to the readers: it just might destroy that thing in your chest that keeps you alive.

Highly recommend.

hurt/comfort x forbidden love x rebellion

The sweetest conclusion to the duo! It starts right where we left off in book 1 which is great because that cliffhanger was brutal. There’s a good balance of new information and a new plot that wraps up the story while focusing on their relationship too. Compared to the first book there’s more development of side characters which seems to be prepping for another duo in this world. The pacing is sometimes slightly off but overall easy to read and a natural conclusion.

Read this if you’re in the mood for…
- rebellion to kill the king
- hidden/suppressed magic
- hurt/comfort
- dual pov
- forbidden love
- found family

The dual timeline pops into this book with flashbacks to growing up or early in their relationship and this time it felt more like comedic relief vs important information for the story. That being said, I laughed every time so I did enjoy them. The world opened up in a way I didn’t expect but felt very natural for the story and added so much to the plot beyond the focus on their relationship. There’s a little bit of miscommunication at the beginning but it doesn’t last long (thank goddess).

Here are a few of my favorite things…
- every mention of fish lol he’s tries to be so cool about it but the inner dialogue was so funny
- the brotherly banter was so sweet and the perfect prep for maybe him to get a book…
- the epilogue!

I enjoyed this duo and will be recommending it!!

This beautiful story about star-crossed lovers picks up right where book 2 leaves off. Senan and Allette continue to be faced with physical, mental and emotional challenges. Like these two really cannot catch a break. In addition to the romance we know and love, there's a really interesting uprising/revolution storyline going on here. I loved that we got to see more of the fae world and understand a lot more about the magic system in this book. Some minor things I struggled with were the pacing at times and the MMC calling the FMC "my girl" excessively. It bothered me in book 1 and it was worse in this book. "My girl" was used 57 times, for reference.

I highly recommend this duet and am so excited and beyond curious to know who the next duet will be about!

When Jenny said she’ll put our hearts back together with this one, she TECHNICALLY didn’t lie. She just also didn’t tell us we had another 300 pages of suffering first. 😭

I don’t think there is a single literary couple who has gone through as much as Senan and Allette in 800 pages, all for the sake of love.

Romeo and Juliet WHO? This is the ultimate “star-crossed lovers fighting against the world for love.

Thank you, Jenny, for the ARC. Can’t wait to come back for more emotional damage with the next one! 😭

The conclusion of Senan and Allette’s story was cute and deserved after everything they were put through. At times the middle dragged and most everything was incredibly predictable which took some of the enjoyment out of it. Also, a good chunk of the inner monologue of both Senan and Allette is centered on how the other couldn’t possibly want them anymore when that is very clearly not the case…it got a bit stale after the third or fourth mention.

Only Jenny can rip out your heart and then put it together in the best way. This duology will live rent free in my head. Is it a tragic tale? Yes. But is it worth every minute you spend reading it? YES. I couldn’t love these characters more, their feelings are conveyed so well you feel all of it. Ugh I love everything about this book- you won’t regret reading it, I promise!

I enjoyed this book & duology for what it was. I do feel that this book was a bit more propulsive than book 1. I wasn’t surprised at all with the reveal about the magic/sun, but it was still fun to read. I thought Allette & Senan were going to somehow get their wings back and I was sad for them that it didn’t happen. I felt that the story was wrapped up nicely and I’m glad to have read it!

A great conclusion to Senan and Allette’s story. Boy does Jenny put you through some heartache to get to that happy ending though 😭😅 lol. It’s all good, I’m a sucker for the heartache and the whole “stars are against us” vibes.

If you are a fan of fantasy romance, I highly recommend you check out this series of interconnected duologies. Senan and Allette’s story is a beautiful and heartbreaking story (with a HEA in book two) that is fast paced, full of fun banter, and will make you feel all the feels.

I highly recommend if you love:
✨forbidden romance
✨fated mates
✨banter
✨found family
✨betrayal
✨grief rep
✨plot twists

Thank you to the author for the arc. All thoughts and opinions are my own and given voluntarily.

Enraptured, entranced and enraged, this duology absolutely owned me and my heart. At the end of BBG, I couldn't breathe! My heart broke and I COULD NOT WAIT FOR THIS BOOK! Jenny absolutely nailed this one, this read beautifully from start to finish. There was pain, there was growth, there was healing and there was love! I couldn't recommend this duology more if you want to be absolutely in love with two MCs and experience the entirety of the emotional spectrum!

“If I never met you, I would have never known true happiness.”

Freed From Gravity was the perfect ending to this duology (book one Bound by Gravity). This story continues the heartbreaking saga of star crossed lovers - Senan and Allette. The pain and suffering that they go through for love is immense.

The book was so satisfying and such an emotional read. The story is constantly moving ahead and makes you want to never put it down. There is an intricate yet easy to understand, fantasy world, beautiful romance, spice, and lots of action.

This duology is so fun to read and the story is one that sticks with me. At the end of this book Hickman hints at another duology coming in the same world and if it’s about the couple I think…I’m going to pass out from excitement.

Thank you to Jenny Hickman for the advanced reader copy. All opinions are my own.

I stayed up deep into the night/early morning absolutely devouring this story. I cried so many tears.

I arc read Bound by Gravity last year and fell hopelessly in love with Jenny’s books. She writes some of the most impactful fantasy romances.

Senan and Allette have a star-crossed love unlike any you’ve read before! The obstacles, betrayals, hardship, addiction, and dark days, don’t dim their love for one another!

If you haven’t started this series, take this as a sign to begin! And if you were impatiently awaiting book two, just know you’re in for a brilliant end to their story.

Thank you @authorjennyhickman for the opportunity to arc read! I can’t wait for your next novel in this world 🤍

DNF 64%. I either vastly misjudged the 1st book, giving it 5 stars, or this sequel was a flop. The characters are painfully selfish in the most immature and overdone way that it’s a bore to be stuck in their heads. I think it might have worked in the 1st book when they were actually naïve teenagers but this is ~5 years later and the inner dialogue of the MMC sounds the same in present time as in flashbacks to when he’s 7 years old. This story should have been 1 book and ended as a tragedy right before the cliffhanger. I don’t care how it ends, although it’s pretty obvious. 2 stars because the technical writing quality holds up.

♾️ 🌟 Always and Forever

I’m still crying, but they’re happy tears! I need some time to gather my thoughts for a good review, but THANK YOU, JENNY, for this beautiful conclusion! 🥺 I have been holding my breath since the day I finished Bound By Gravity and I really wasn’t sure how things could truly ever get better.

My heart is so full, though. It was such a painful journey and I gasped and reeled more times than I ever have with any book. So much suffering and betrayal, but I love that they continued to fight and find hope when all seemed hopeless.

(I’ll be back!) 😮‍💨

I couldn’t have asked for a more perfect ending for Alette and Senan’s story! There were so many highs and lows and after reading Bound by Gravity, I knew never to trust how easily things were happening for them, lol. And I was right. Nothing was easy, and yes there are some things left unanswered but only means there’s more to this series I cannot wait to read. The last portion of this book had me shaking with fear and anger for the characters, but the ending was worth it. Jenny knows the exact way to toy with our emotions, and I love her for it 😆

Thank you so much for this eARC!

Oh my! What a great ending for Senan and Allette!

While book 1 in the series was filled with heartbreak, this book is filled with hope and healing.

Senan and Allette certainly have to work for their happiness but despite all the hurdles thrown at them they keep pushing through.

I love the found family aspect in this book. So much of it is about friends coming together to help each other. The magic system is also so interesting, to use their powers they essentially need to be charged up by the sun.

4.5⭐️ I just love this duet so so much. Alll the pain i felt in book one was healed in this book LMAO (but no fr) I love the characters and this world so much. SENAN & ALLETTE >> i just love the way that they loved eachother and were nonstop feral for one another. The romance is my favorite part of this duet for sure, but i absolutely love the rebellion and action that took place in this book versus book one. UGH, i ate this upppp.

5 stars, enjoyed this one more than the first I literally couldn’t put it down. Finished in one sitting, such a good conclusion to Senan and Allette’s story 💕

Jenny is one of my few auto-buy authors for a reason!!
When I finished Bound by Gravity I dove right in to Freed because I needed to know how much more she was going to torture these poor characters. I love Senan and Allette dearly and the supporting cast are all so well written. She makes her characters go through a lot in order to earn their HEA, and in so doing they feel so much like real people.

Do not leave Jenny's books to read someday, read them all now!!!

What an amazing conclusion to Senan & Allette’s story!

We pick up immediately where we left off in Bound by Gravity… thank goodness because remember that jaw dropping cliffhanger from book one?! 😱

The twists and turns… the ups and downs… Jenny was not done putting these characters through it! She is such a masterful weaver of stories that keep me guessing until the last page. A few times I couldn’t see a way for things to turn out okay. And I love that kind of book. Keeping me guessing and on the edge of my seat the entire time. But don’t worry, there is an HEA at the end of it all as promised.

I can’t get over how unique this story is. And it’s clear there’s a ton we still don’t know. Already excited for the next duology in this world!

Thank you to the author for the chance to review an advance copy.
