A serial killer haunts Orange County, leaving his victims naked and buried in shallow graves with a single, chilling a pillow.
This high-profile case has everyone vying for glory—the LAPD, OC Sheriff’s Department, and the California Bureau of Investigation. But young FBI Agent Constantine ‘Con’ Striker wants nothing to do with it. Fresh off the high of capturing the Ashley Madison Killer, Con's personal life is in shambles. His mother is unraveling, crying out for his long-deceased father, and his twin sister Valerie has mysteriously vanished.
As the body count rises, Con is thrust into a harrowing investigation that threatens to destroy him. The Sandman isn’t just taking lives; he’s targeting everything and everyone Con holds dear. In a race against time, Con must confront his deepest fears and the twisted mind of a killer determined to steal more than just lives—he’s after Con’s very soul.
"Tell Me Where the Sandman Sleeps" is the gripping prequel to the bestselling "Tell Me Where She’s Buried." Prepare yourself for a heart-pounding journey into the dark corners of obsession, love, and loss.
True story: I used to cut up bodies. No, not for fun, you sickos–for work. After reaching the age of majority and fleeing the clutches of an overprotective mother, I went to university like a good boy.
More than a decade later and an alphabet soup of letters after my name, I found myself looking down the double-chamber of a microscope at an eyeball. Feeling ironically introspective, I decided that it was time for a change.
After seventy plus novels and more than a million copies sold, I’ve found my true calling, one that also includes a plethora of letters. Hopefully you see something in my catalog that you like, something to feast your eyes on.
I also have two spooky podcasts that are appropriate for ALL ages, so long as you like to be scared: P.T. Logan's Five Minutes of Terror and Camp Fear. Both are FREE and available on all podcast platforms. For MATURE audiences, I've created two fiction podcasts, Nightmare Residue and Bad Priest.

This was a short audiobook, just around four hours, but it offered an addictive mystery as we got to know Striker. His sister has gone missing, his mom is suffering from dementia, and someone is leaving dead victims naked with a pillow as a calling card.
Striker’s sister Val calls and says their mom needs to be in assisted living and demands he come to their home. When Striker gets there, Val is missing. As he hunts for the Sandman, he suspects Val might be one of his victims. Overworked, stressed over his family, and with a fiancée he isn’t spending any time with, Striker is soon burning candles at both ends. All of which leads to a major meltdown. The tale that unfolded was gritty, intense and kept me listening late into the evening. In fact, I devoured this in one sitting.
Johanna Parker & Jonathan Strait narrate and did a splendid job of giving voice to these characters. There are currently five books published in the series, and while parts of this wrapped up, we are left not knowing what happened to Val, Striker’s sister. That thread continues in book one, Tell Me Where She Is Buried, coming to audio in October 2025 with a different narrator. I cannot wait!
I thought this was a standalone novel, or the first in a series. Actually, it is a prequel to "Tell Me Where She's Buried". A great prequel at that. The story is centered around Constantine Striker (Con for short). He is a young police detective who has been assigned to a case of serial killings committed by a killer only known as The Sandman. The Sandman leaves all of his victims lying dead with a pillow. The clues keep adding up, but The Sandman still alludes capture. Throw in Con's missing sister (Val) who was earlier seen with The Sandman, but cannot be found either. Is she complicit in the crimes, or is she also one of the victims? This is a fast-paced and good story through-and-through. Word of warning, it does leave you hanging at the end. You have to buy "Tell Me Where She is Buried" to continue on from where the prequel finished. However, the author is kind enough to lead you to downloading the sample to continue reading at no charge. Nevertheless, I have already bought the novel. I have found another good author of mystery, thriller, and suspense that I can add to my list of favorite authors.
Constantine 'Con' Striker is a young FBI agent posted in Orange County California who gets reluctantly assigned to help in the investigation of the death of a young woman. As things develop, Con becomes more and more involved in the case. To add to his problems, his sister decides she can no longer care for their aging mother who is developing Dementia. The sister, Val, runs off in anger and disappears and the mother needs to be placed into a care facility. Add to this a beautiful and successful fiancee whom Con cannot spend much time with and you get all the ingredients for a major meltdown. Much of the book focuses on Con's increasing frustration with the lack of progress on the case while more young women are found killed in the same manner. Con goes renegade a time or two but that is a part of his appeal. He's driven. I couldn't put this book down and purchased the next book in the series immediately after finishing this one. I must find out what happens next.
Tell Me Where the Sandman Sleeps is a chilling, tightly woven thriller that marks a perfect beginning to the Con series. Patrick Logan delivers a masterclass in suspense, introducing readers to two unforgettable protagonists—Con and Tate—whose chemistry and contrasting styles make for an electrifying duo. The plot is fast-paced and gritty, with just the right amount of psychological depth and twisted intrigue to keep you turning the pages late into the night. Logan’s writing is razor-sharp, and the eerie atmosphere lingers long after the final page. Fans of dark thrillers and gripping procedurals will be hooked. This is the kind of series opener that makes you desperate for the next installment.
I thoroughly enjoyed this read! Was a quick read and well paced! If you’re looking for a quick, murder mystery that will leave you begging for the next book, I highly recommend. Reason for not giving five stars? I feel some of the verbiage could have been better. The main character seems to hyper-sexualize his significant other, making comments about “those breasts” and “that ass”, which left me with a bit of a sour taste. That’s just my personal discomfort, but felt worth noting. I’m excited to start the next book and give a review on it as well!

I never miss a read by Patrick Logan, they are all exceptional to me and is this a new series, I hope. It is so good, you turn a page and are not sure what to expect but you will not be disappointed!
Just meh. A couple of typos turned me off. I figure it was rushed to publish or the editing was just poorly done. The book started off good with lots of character development but then abruptly jumped to the next murder months later and again jumped ahead a year. All the details that the book started out with suddenly became “just the facts”. I found the ending was just not satisfying.
It was good to finally get the background on Constantine & Tate's relationship and partnership in the FBI. What a story this was!!!! Con another messed up agent. An excellent start to a new series. Looking forward to the next one.
The story was fine, but SO many grammatical errors! And the MC’s name changed. He goes by Con and was introduced as Constantine but was referred to a few times as Conrad? It was hard to push through.
Mr. Logan has done it again! I have every book he wrote and never been disappointed a little confused a few time but never disappointed hope you join his followers.
