A spicy re-imagining of the sapphic vampire story that birthed a genre.
Lonely and isolated in her family’s countryside castle, Lady Laura Beauchamp is desperate to escape to Vienna to experience life at the Imperial court, as she’s always dreamed of. But one summer’s night, when the moon is full, a horse-drawn carriage crashes on the road right before Laura, bringing her an unexpected guest – the beautiful, and equally mysterious, Lady Karmilla.
Karmilla gives Laura a taste of the companionship and wonder and excitement she’s long sought, and so much more. Karmilla opens Laura’s eyes to a whole new world of sensation and desire, to experiences and pleasures Laura never knew existed.
But who really is Karmilla? Is she the sophisticated aristocrat she appears to be, or is Karmilla… something else entirely?
Will Karmilla be content with merely entertaining and educating Laura, or does Karmilla have other designs on her?
Will Laura’s family intercede in time, or will Karmilla entice Laura away from everything she once held dear? Will Karmilla be the ruin of Laura, or her making?
Karmilla is an explicit sapphic romantic novella inspired by one of the earliest and most celebrated 19th century vampire stories.
Read it because you want a paranormal vampire lesbian novella based on a classic tale, with romance and intrigue, and with lashings of graphic sapphic seduction.
All characters are aged eighteen years and over. All acts are consensual.
I have read the original novella this book is based upon many time, the first time before I hit puberty. The novella is suggestive but subtle, as a pre teen I didn't even understand the implications the author suggested. If carnal romance comes in three grades, implied but not stated, safe for all audiences is the grade of the original novella. Many modern romances are more explicit without being graphic, like soft core grade they lead you to the picture but leave the details a bit to the imagination. This romance is the hard core grade, nothing at all is left to the imagination, every nibble kiss or swat on the behind is described in glowing vivid detail.
4 stars. I'm not the biggest fan of Carmilla idk why. I should probably reread it but my point is even though the original source material does nothing for me I always pick up retellings. This is definitely one that I actually liked. It's an erotica and it's super duper sexy. Karmilla and Lara were really hot together. I liked the growth of Lara's character and how she became more confident in herself. Karmilla was really hot even if she was a tad bit manipulative. I loved her. The ending though! OMG. I really hope Fury plans on writing a book two because wtf? This was really good.
I started bookmarking my favorite steamy moments, and by the end, I had almost half the book saved. It's pretty light on story, but the vocab and scene writing are exquisite. I've never wanted to be a lesbian vampire as much as I do after reading this tale
Really enjoyed this adaptation of a classic tale, story flowed well and I have read many vampire books and this one although is very erotic it is one of the best I've read will look forward to other contribution s from this author.
A sensory overload take on a truly gory story by the original creator! Those that have read the original should get a kick out of reading your rendition😝❗ 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟❗
