A Writer, a Kindergarten teacher & a friend with benefits pact for the summer.
Kim: When I get called boring and predictable for the 100th time in my life, I decide to do something about it. I'm almost 30 and I can count on one hand the amount of crazy things I've ever done. This will be the summer I finally say yes to all the things I usually said no to.
Zara: My next book is due at the end of the summer and my word count is still 0. Forcing my brain to write more, I decide to create a summer f*ck-it list and do a new thing everyday to spark creativity. Which might just include becoming friend with benefits with the hot teacher I just met.
But as the summer goes on and Kim and Zara get to know each other, they might be wishing there was more to their friendship and it wouldn't end with the fall.

4.5⭐️ Book 5 of the Lighthouse Lovers was hot hot hot! I loved Zara!! The chemistry between Zara and Kim was palpable and at times I could have sworn there was smoke coming from my device! What starts as a one night stand, turns into a friends with benefits summer fling. Along with the lovely spice, there is sweet romance and check ins throughout of the fab core best friend group. Looking forward to the final book in this series and moving on from the summer, maybe we will get to see how all the couples are doing now that we will finally get the ‘wedding’ and beyond ;).

This is another wonderful addition to the series. I enjoyed Kim and Zara's love story immensely, particularly the friends-with-benefits aspect and the passionate scenes. The connection between them was evident throughout, making for a delightful read.
I eagerly anticipate the next instalment in the series and more works from Shannon.

This book was fine, which is the same thing that I would say about the rest of the series. In some ways this was one of the better ones (this is book 4 of 5) but in some ways it was one of the worse ones…. I am having a hard time deciding. Its well written; the author is a good author.
The overall premise for these novels is very neat (the thing that drew me to this series to start with). Five interconnected and overlapping novels that tell the story of the summer leading up to a wedding, where a bunch of friends who are all in town to reconnect end up finding love. That’s a lot of fun. Unfortunately, the way they are written you need to binge the entire thing otherwise you will get very lost as they do a terrible job of reminding you of what happened in the other novels and who people are if you don’t remember. Also, my biggest gripe for the whole series is that a lot of details are held back to prevent spoiling later novels (I assume) so none of these have had a satisfying ending so far.
This entry to the series was a bit different because there was very little plot, and very little time spend with the other characters. In a way this was a good thing because I forget what most of the other characters were up to anyways. This novel spends most of its page count on spicy scenes, so depending on what your looking for that’s either a positive or negative thing. Less plot, more spice. The spice was also well done, so that get some points in my book.
Unfortunately the plot barely existed and the ending was WILDLY unsatisfying; probably the most underwhelming and unsatisfying of the series so far. It basically cut to black in the middle of a scene without anything I would actually call an ending, but that also might be my opinion.
I’m a sucker for finding out how things end so ill still be reading the last one when it comes out (so they are good enough to be readable), but objectively I don’t think I would recommend this series.
My Rating: “C+” Converted Rating: 3-Stars Thank you to BookSirens to providing a free ARC. This honest review was left voluntarily.
Inn Love is the fourth installment in the Lighthouse Lovers series. The story follows two femme women as they navigate a friends with benefits summer fling.
Zara, a well-known dark romance writer, travels to Lovers, Maine in hopes to overcome writer’s block for her next book. Kim, a kindergarten teacher who recently moved back to Lovers, Maine after a breakup. Kim decides to make changes in her life after being called predictable by a friend, so when Zara invites her over, she says yes.
One night isn’t enough and, after bumping into each other in town, they agree to a friends with benefits relationship until the end of summer. But what happens when feelings are added to the mix?
I didn’t like one of the friends because she was rude and pushy on more than one occasion to one of the women. The protagonists were likable and cute together. I liked the ending, and it's not what I expected, but it was a pleasant surprise. I gave it four stars because it wasn’t the five-star quality for me personally. I would still recommend it because it was a good read.

i have very mixed feelings about this one. some aspects were good but others were…. not.
the characters :
── .✦ kim (mc) : such a sweet character!! she’s the kind of person who’s always putting others before herself and is afraid of a lot of things, especially change (so real). that made her very caring though, and kindergarten teacher was the perfect career for her!! decorating her classroom with bluey stuff because she knew the kids would like it was so cute. however, after a while i kinda got tired of her constantly repeating that she was determined to prove to everybody that she was not predictable anymore. we get it.
── .✦ zara (mc) : i didn't like zara as much as i liked kim but she was sweet too. by the end of the book, kim said she felt like she didn't really know much about zara and unfortunately i felt the same. yes she's an author, yes she's from new york, yes she has a big family, but that's pretty much all i knew about her. her fantasies also threw me off quite a few times to say the least!!!!
the story :
── .✦ i have very mixed feelings about the story. i hadn't read an insta love romance in a long time and unfortunately this book reminded me that i just should stick to slow burns. kim and zara's chemistry was pretty good and i loved how caring zara was towards kim, but it all felt kind of rushed. i also would've appreciated some sort of epilogue because i was waiting to see how they'd make it work.
the whole alana/will thing reminded me of astrid and spencer from delilah green doesn't care by ashley herring blake, except by the end of that book but inn love ended right after the rehearsal dinner, so we didn't get to see alana do that. i know it was probably on purpose since alana's book is going to be next in the lighthouse series but i still disliked not seeing her stand up for herself.
getting pregnant at the end of the book was kinda random but why not i guess? (i wouldn't have been surprised if i had previously read her book but i read inn love as a standalone so the pregnancy definitely caught me off guard). the pride parade part was really sweet too, the whole friend group being there and dressed up for the occasion was adorable.
i also get that them having sex often was to be expected since they were literally friends with benefits, but in a , really??? these girls could NOT keep their hands to themselves, and most of the time it was fine but that thing was not it for me. no wonder!
── .✦ overall i think there were more things i disliked than things i liked, but it was still a decent small town romance. i think kim's friends made it more enjoyable. i know some other reviews mentioned that reading a book in the lighthouse series as a standalone wasn't the best idea because you couldn't really properly enjoy them without having read all of them in order so that might explain why there were so many things i disliked.

Somehow, despite having copies of all the books in the Lighthouse Lovers series so far (there’s one more coming), I've only read the second and now the fourth: Inn Love. I’m not sure why because I’ve read plenty of Shannon O’Connor books and I’ve liked them all, so I’m making a note to myself to go back and read the first and third. The point of that (beyond the reminder to myself) is that these books don’t need to be read in order. They all take place over one summer in Lovers, Maine, but although the characters intertwine, they can be read as stand-alone stories.
Inn Love is the story of Zara, a romance writer from New York City suffering from writer’s block, and Kim, a local who has returned to teach kindergarten. Kim has been told one too many times that she’s boring and predictable, so she’s decided to spend the summer taking risks and say yes to things she normally wouldn’t.
The two have a lovely meet-cute on the beach by the local inn where Zara is staying, and Kim takes a risk, jumping headfirst into her first ever one-night stand. It’s steamy and neither one of them can get the other out of their head. I really loved how open both women were with each other, and there’s quite a bit of spice with lots of consent, which is always sexy. They seem really different, but they just click and obviously care for each other. I’m definitely looking forward to going back and reading the books I’ve missed, and can’t wait for Alana’s story next! 4.5 stars.
I received a free ARC from the author, but my review is unbiased and left voluntarily.
A chance encounter leads to a one night stand. A one night stand becomes friends with benefits. What could possibly come of that?
Inn Love, part 4 of the Lighthouse Lovers series answers that very question. A well written and very spicy delivery from Shannon O'Connor takes us back to Lovers, Maine for the fourth of a series that can be read in order or as complete standalones.
Zara is a well known author in town for the summer to get some inspiration to write her next dark romance book series. Kim has just moved back to teach kindergarten where she grew up. On the surface they are opposites, but they find they fit together better than either could have anticipated.
During an event for her friend's upcoming wedding, Kim is called predictable yet again, and it's a punch in the gut after her ex used it when he dumped her. She resolves to have a summer of fuck-it. She decides to say yes to all those scary things she usually says no to.
Zara has arranged to walk the inn keeper's golden retriever Sandy in the evenings as a way to force herself to get out and see the town. One night she's playing with her on the beach, when Sandy runs right into Kim, taking her out at the knees. Zara rushes over to make sure she is okay and is taken aback at how beautiful Kim is. As they walk down the beach and talk a bit, Kim notices Zara checking her out, and takes the chance when they reach Kim's car to lean in for a kiss. This leads to them heading back to Zara's room for an amazing night of sex.
They both knew it was just a one night stand. And yet, they both kept thinking about that night and the other woman, and secretly hoping they would run into each other. Thank goodness Lovers is a small town. They do run into each other again in a local coffee shop, and exchange numbers. This leads to them setting a friends with benefits arrangement for the summer. But as the summer progresses, and feelings develop, will one summer be enough?

Inn Love by Shannon O'Connor, is the fourth book in the sapphic romance series Lighthouse Lovers, set in the small coastal town of Lighthouse.
The series is based around 4 friends who are attending a wedding at the end of the summer, although the books contain minor spoilers each book can be read on its own.
The attendee of the wedding in, Inn Love is Kim who at nearly 30 is an elementary teacher and keeps getting called boring so for the summer she decides to become unpredictable,
Kims Love interest is Zara, a writer from New York, who stays in Lighthouse for the summer to find her muse to give herself inspiration for a small town romance.
While Shannon O’Conners novella starts out as a friends with benefits, that starts off as a one night stand, there is definitely insta love as both Kim and Zara from an instant connection.
So while the two of them set a limit of the relationship of the summer as a reader it is always going to be something that lasts longer. After all this is a romance novel so as readers we all know what is going to happen at the end.
The only thing that matters is that the writer Shannon O’connor is able to build up the relationship between the couple, which in this case is definitely above average as both characters are both well rounded and likeable characters.
One thing to add is that Inn Love is not a closed romance, so just be careful, but the novel needs to be praised for the way that consent was discussed either in the bedroom or out in public.
All this makes, Inn Love by Shannon O’connor well worth reading.
Tropes: Femme for Femme, One Night Stand to Friends With Benefits to Lovers, Insta Love, Small Town
Inn Love is the fourth book in a series set in Lovers, Maine but can easily be read as a standalone. I have not read the others in the series and had no problem following the story. Inn Love is a small town sapphic romance insta love story between romance writer Zara and kindergarten teacher Kim. I found Zara to be believable as an author but Kim was not how I imagine a kindergarten teacher.
Zara is a city girl looking for a change of scenery to inspire her next novel. Kim just broke up with her boyfriend and has moved back to her small hometown. Zara likes to be spontaneous and live the city club life while Kim likes her routines and is more predictable. Kim decides to try being more spontaneous and adventurous so when she meets Zara walking along the beach she pursues a one night stand. They both decide to see each other again leading to more of a friends with benefits situation. Eventually more than friendly feelings develop.
The spicy scenes were well written but one scene was set in a kindergarten classroom which really turned me off. Overall the writing was ok but I couldn’t get completely invested in these characters. I was more interested in Kim’s friend Alana who was engaged to a no caring inconsiderate man. I think Alana’s story will be the next book in the series and I look forward to reading it. It appears Alana will leave the man and end up with a woman.
Things I loved: - Femme for Femme sapphic romance - Small town - FWB to lovers - Coeliac disease rep - Clear consent with sex - Writer / Teacher
This is the 4th book in the light house lovers series and my gosh I truly do love this series so much. Kim and Zara were fantastic, they seem to meet right at the perfect time. With Kim wanting to branch out of being so predictable and Zara wanting to experience small town and find her inspiration again with writing. There’s instalust and this is a one night stand to friends with benefits to lovers story. As with all the books in this series you do have open door romance and I loved that both of these characters were dominant sexually and could take charge but also there was clear consent between the two. Although their relationship started off as pure lust with the intention of being a summer fling you could feel their chemistry developing and it felt very natural. I loved the way you could see them starting to care for eachother more deeply, even if they were avoiding talking about it until the very last moment. Sandy was adorable too!!
Side note: I forgot how much I disliked Will (Alanna’s. Fiancé) what an absolute duckhead ✨

A sweet summer fling with two ladies trying to navigate a friends with benefits relationship while also dealing with a break up and writers block.
Zara and Kim's romance is passionate and intense, a very real connection shines through in this story.
This is the first book in the series that I've read, but it didn't take away any of the story for me, but after reading this I'm invested and must go back and read books 1-3 before anymore come out.
Adorable and fun, Inn Love really catches fire fast as Kim and Zara meet unexpectedly and fall into lust. Then it's friends with benefits, then it's the need to keep things going, even when long distance is their only option.
Kim has moved back to Lovers, Maine to start a new job teaching kindergarten. Zara lives in NYC and is spending the summer in the small town trying to write a book. My favorite part of this story is the simplicity. Neither is looking for magic, or a steady partner, but they can't stop the wanting. "Having my heart broken by Kim is better than having none of her at all." You can't help but root for these two to make it.
This is book #4 in O'Connor's Lighthouse Lovers series and it's one of her best. Looking forward to the series continuing with Alana's story soon.
Kim is a kindergarten teacher fresh off a bad breakup. She's feeling boring and predictable, so she decides to have a fun summer. She meets Zara and decides it's time for her first one night stand, which turns into a summer fling.
Zara is an author staying in Lovers for the summer as inspiration for a small town romance book. She is absolutely not looking for serious, but she can't stay away from Kim.
These two are completely smitten right away, but assume the other doesn't want serious because it's just a summer fling, or feel like the end date is a definite. But they are so sweet on each other, it's adorable.
My only thing is that I don't like spicy scenes in classrooms. Like I'm glad they locked the door and it was summer so no one was there. But I still feel icky.
These two characters will melt your heart! Yes they’re very cute together but it’s mostly because they set fire to the pages with their red hot encounters as FWB. The book should come with a fire extinguisher. Zara is a famous author of dark romance and Kim is a primary school teacher wanting to step out of her comfort zone. Light versus dark? Not at all as Zara is as fun and bubbly as Kim. Thankfully there was no silly third act breakup but we still don’t get to find out if Alana ‘Will’ or ‘Will’ not go through with her wedding. The blurb for the next book kinda gives it away but I’ll pretend I didn’t see it 🫣

Kim and Zara has chemistry from the start, and we have been approaching Alana's wedding for a while now, I have a feeling that things are going to go sideways in either a good or a bad way there…
But Kim and Zara they work together, and it seems that they will continue to do so, I have read all the other books in the series so far, now I am waiting for Alana's wedding to arrive so we can see what all the fuss is about.
Bring it on.

It’s always nice to just read an easy book with two people just growing closer through out the pages. Kim and Zara were so easy to root for and connect with their journey. It was great to follow them as they grew together and sets the crumbs for the final book in the collection.
It can be a standalone read but I’d recommend getting to know all the friends and following all their journeys.

This is the 4th book in the lighthouse lovers series and it DID NOT DISAPPOINT. I love how the characters recur from the previous books. Zara & Kim's story is sweet and sexy. I could not put the book down! I can't until the next one is ready!
I enjoyed Kim and Zara’s story very much. We have two strong women who are very confident in their lives and also their sexuality and are very attracted to each other and although they both say they will only spend one night together they just can’t get each other out of their minds and as they keep running into each other it is only natural that their relationship progresses. Loved all the characters and I enjoyed the uniqueness in the story. Another wonderful book by Shannon O’Connor.
This is lovely read set in the Lighthouse universe, but certainly can be read as a standalone. Kim is a teacher, just moved back to her hometown following a break up. She meets Zara, an author who has writers block. Their relationship starts as a one night stand, but they keep meeting in the small town and it develops. Good pace of book, interesting characters and the storyline kept me interested throughout.
This is the fourth book in the Lighthouse Lovers Series, and I absolutely loved it. It seems like every book has gotten hotter. It is a one night to forever with a meet cute that is so sweet. I love having characters from the other books showing up. I am really enjoying getting different perceptions of Alana’s wedding fiasco and am very excited that the next book is going to be hers. Yay!! So happy their “one-night-summer-fling” summer fling turned into more. Kim deserves some happiness after her break up & with all her friends all coupled up I was so happy to see her step out of her predictable-zone all thanks to meeting Zara. I loved this series so far & how Zara & Kim kept running I’ll to each other & feelings grew for them both.
Another great read in this series

Kim is a local kindergarten teacher, Zara is a successful author from New York. They don't have a lot in common at first glance however attraction doesn't always follow the rules.
This is simply a delightful book, mostly focused on the main couple (and Sandy the dog) but I'd advise reading the earlier books in the series first to complete the back stories of the friends so that you get the full benefit of such a lovely book!
Thank you so much for letting me arc read this. Inn Love is book 4 of the lighthouse lovers series which without a doubt one or my favourite series by Shannon and in general. We see another bridesmaid of the friend group Kim trying to be more open and less predictable and when she runs into Zara thats exactly what she gets. A summer of fun leads to feelings, Zara finds her muse and Kim finds ways to be more open. I adored this book so much seeing each characters point of view incredible.
Book 4 in the series was a hot 🔥 page turner. A writer needing inspiration leaves New York for the town of "Lovers", yes that's what its called. Zara meets kindergarten teacher Kim over the summer holidays. Kim is tired of being labelled predictable. When Zara and Kim meet, sparks fly, but a one-night stand is all it can be, or is it. See what unfolds over the summer.
Hot but left wanting. This book had a lot of spice which was written well enough but limited writing that gave the story life. Reading it almost felt clinical, without fully fleshed characters and scenes. I enjoyed the book, 3.5 stars but I wouldn't recommend it to someone if they were looking for a solid book outside of spicy scenes.
This is the fourth book in the series, but could be read as a stand-alone. I really enjoyed the closeness and dynamics of the friend group. Kim and Zara seem to be opposites, but they really are made for each other. There are some seriously hot scenes but also some that tell a story.
Wow what a beautiful story I loved the main characters their chemistry was hot but their unique connection was the highlight of the story it unfolds beautifully keeping you hooked for more a must-read congratulations
The story of Zara and Kim was beautiful. One night stand, to friends with benefits, to long distance romance. It was bound to happen. You can't deny attraction, connection and chemistry. We'll worth the read.
Shannon O'Connor has written another wonderful addition to this perfect series. The chemistry between Zara and Kim is undeniable. This book had a sweet romance, friendship, and spice. I can't recommend this book and series enough.
