Emily might not have realized it, but she was a snob. The daughter of a wealthy man, she lived a life of leisure while looking down on people who had to work for a living. In her mind people like her father’s landscaper were uncouth philistines who simply couldn’t appreciate her brilliance.
Unfortunately for Emily, her father’s landscaper was a bit craftier than she realized. When she made the mistake of assuming he was completely harmless one too many times he decided to teach her a lesson. Using blackmail and violence, he would force her to understand that her social status in this world hardly gave her immunity from retribution.
She tried to fight back, but living an easy life had made her soft and weak. As time progressed, she began to realize something as well. Though disgusted by the idea of being dominated by a man of such low class, a part of her enjoyed it.
