Being a part of one of the wealthiest families in Chicago, Jasmine Alexandria Rose has been thrown into the spotlight ever since her conception. In addition to being one-third of a set of well-known triplets, Jasmine is also the famous face of a daytime soap opera and has more notoriety than one could ever want. But it’s not the glowing lights, prestigious awards, or reigning celebrity that sends her pulse into overdrive and sizzles her flesh right down to its core. The man behind this cacophony of a conundrum is none other than her brothers’ best friend, and though she can never see her life with anyone other than him, Jasmine’s hesitation continues to stall the love that she craves.
Mayoral candidate Luke Steele is a professor at the University of Chicago. Growing up on the South Side has galvanized Luke’s desire to make a difference in his city, and he’s decided if he wants to see change, he’ll have to become that driving force. However, there is another stimulus that drives the very motor that runs the beat of his heart, and she is a supposed forbidden fruit that Luke has yet to taste. Tempted by her, Luke is ready to risk it all for the possibility of love everlasting, and the only one that stands in his way is the object of his affection, Jasmine.

Remember when I said SNN's book were hit or miss with me? Well, Tempted By You was definitely a miss. This book could've been so much better had she done a single ounce of research on politics. It's so obvious she didn't. The author tried to make Jasmine out to be this powerful political activist when she was not. She was an actress whose career was mentioned in passing only in this book. In Mine, there were multiple scenes with Phoebe interacting with clients and and actually working in her office. So, we knew she was a lawyer. One would think with Jasmine being a soap opera actress, there would've been plenty of scenes with her on set interacting with her director and other actresses on the show but, Jasmine's role on her show was barely even talked about. Hell, I can't even remember what the name of the show was. She had one run-in with a fan and, towards the end of the book, the author finally gave us a scene with Jasmine on set but if you blinked you missed it. Jasmine's wannabe political activism was so fake and phoney and it really took away from the book because, that's not who she was. It would've made more sense for the author to just give her a career in politics. My intentions were to give this book 3.5 stars but, she lost half a star when she misspelled Barack Obama's name. Seriously?!!! This man was out President four years so, how on earth do you not know how to spell his name?!!! A quick Google search would've shown you Barak was not the correct way to spell his name. I've said it once and I'll continue to say. Mistakes like these are a clear indication these authors are not having their books edited. Please do better. Very little about Tempted By You grabbed my attention. The only reason I finished this book is because, it was part of the series. I sincerely hope Eden's story is better.
Something was missing, I think it was the rest of the family but overall a good read. Not one of my favs but looking forward to the other two siblings storues!
I really enjoyed this book and I loved Jasmine’s personality and her attitude towards doing what’s right in the community!!!… Luke was definitely a good fit for her because she needed someone that was willing to spk to her with understanding and firmness!!!… I was hot when she took her butt back to that protest to try and prove a point!!!… I’m truly hoping we see how her family tears into her for that move!!!…
Whew, honey! This book had me cracking up in the beginning because that Sarah was really trying it--but she was no match for Jasmine Alexandria Rose! I literally laughed out loud every time Jas put "Miss Thang" in her place!😂😂 Poor thang never had a chance in the first place because Luke Steele didn't so much as give Sarah the time of day romantically, yet she acted like a petty puppy! And that's what I love about Luke. Once he made it up in his mind that he and Jasmine were ready to move forward in a relationship where they would be more than friends, not once did he entertain any kind of foolishness from other women. He had eyes for Jas only!
How anyone could stand to be in the same room when Jas and Luke were occupying the space beats me!🤷🏾♀️ The heat they generated between them from the intense looks, all those soft caresses and touching, and mind-blowing kisses--they could have started a darn forest fire! 🔥🔥 That Luke Steele was a dangerous man in the bedroom. But don't get me started on their sexual acrobatics, aerobatics, or whatever you want to call it! A thick chick like me could never!😂😂
And that Jasmine was truly a woman of conviction, courage, and strength. The way she rallied around and fought hard for others was admirable and awe-inspiring. She was always ready at a moment's notice to go to battle for the cause. I would be proud to have someone like her as a friend because you'd never have to worry if she had your back.
While I knew Jasmine also wouldn't be my fav of the Rose triplet sisters, I was interested to see what type of trouble she'd find herself in, seeing that she was such a hot head in the previous books and trouble did she find🤦🏾♀️.
Mr. Luke Steele on the other hand had me eager to know more about the gentle giant. He seemed like he'd be a sweetheart and he delivered. I love him.
Now as far as a couple goes, Jasmine and Luke couldn't be more opposite, yet alike, so as much as the back story of their love was given, I'd be interested in their future; I'd love to see how Luke deals with her sharp tongue.
This story, while good, had a lot of over descriptive parts of Luke and his physique. It seemed like the author wanted to show, a lot, how much more he towered over Jasmine, and I felt it was a bit too much.
Oh, but those love making descriptions were just right😏. I knew he'd be a monster in the bedroom and again, he did not disappoint. Jasmine held up her end, which was surprising in a way. Smoking hot🔥
Nonetheless, another good story in this series. I'm hoping to get more of the feud of the Valentines and the Roses in the coming books, but from a different angle than in the Valentine series. Can't get enough of that family. I might have to revisit that series, but first, let me finish this one. Next book, here I come.
I acknowledge it is a novella so it is expected to be short. However it was filled with a bunch of useless filler than rushed the more poignant parts.
This story was no where near as good as the others. The sex was hot but I was attracted to her books because of the story. Much of the book revolves around the years before they got together. And how much they knew about it each other and how perfect they are for each other.
Jasmine came off as High principled, naive hot head. The saw the world through a protected Rose colored glasses. Luke was supposed to be all that but his character came off as needy, insecure and faux alpha male.
Not the mention the constant revolving point of views that made it a little nuts keeping up.
I love the Rose series but I must say Zim not a fan of Jasmine . Luke had to work entirely too hard to prove his love and then the research into his background was a little too much for me. Also the words of Sarah was too far fetched foe me to work on his campaign . I guess 9 books the series has started to lose some of its flavor.
This was HOT! When I say Luke did not come to play with Jasmine, he did not come to play! I already knew how this would end because (this is a romance so we're going to get an HEA) and I read the Valentine books first and I believe the Rose series came first.
I just LOVE this author's writing and I've been devouring her books since first discovering them on Kindle Unlimited.
I’m not sure what but this book seemed to miss something. It didn’t read as well as the others and I didn’t get my Rose fix. I’ve read the first eight and was never disappointed. This book focused on Luke and Jasmine’s love story. There wasn’t much interaction from other characters, which could be the difference. I’ll be moving on to book 10 after a break 🤷🏽♀️

"Tempted By You" by Stephanie Nicole Norris
My Thoughts....
This was another good series: Falling For A Rose Book 9...'Tempted By You' featuring Luke and Jasmine. It was quite a intriguing read seeing how Luke gave Jasmine time to develop from a early infatuation during their teen years that developed into love. Would you believe that these two had be tiptoeing around each other for many years? I loved how Luke was able to wait for her to come to him. This was definitely a story of 'love, delayed but not denied' as we see Luke's runs for office as he also will race for Jasmine heart.'
With Luke's career focusing being on politics and Jasmine being caught up in activism will these two be able to make a go at it? I will say Jasmine did get on my nerves at times in the way she seemed not to trust Luke but as the story continues she finally seemed to understand why Luke was so upset by it all. Yes, in any relationship there will be give and takes but by the end of the day trust is definitely the key. I will say that their passion was undeniably one of the hottest love scenes ever!
So, this was a beautiful well written love story with some well developed characters that will leave you only wanting the next series of 'Falling For a Rose.'
4.5 Stars (#9) [Being a part of one of the wealthiest families in Chicago, Jasmine Alexandria Rose (actress/activist) has been thrown into the spotlight ever since her conception. Jasmine and Luke's relationship had started way before now. They were checking for each other in their teenage years but never pursued anything. The combustion they made was manifested and released at the right time when they could truly appreciate and enjoy each other. Luke showed Jas that if she asked him for anything, he would surely deliver, granting delicious pleasures to her in every kind of way. I love how this story focused primarily on Jas and Luke's relationship, even though the supporting characters were needed for the progression of the plot. Her siblings were mentioned, but they weren't their overbearing, protective yet loving selves in their story. Luke wasn't going for how they did Quentin, and apparently Derek isn't either. Looking forward to reading more about the Roses. I recommend this book as well as the whole series to others.
Though I like the idea of one of the Rose Triplets Jasmine Alexandria Rose falling for a politician in Luke Steele, I didn't much care for this book. I felt it wasn't believable that a a college professor who is a politician as well would fall in love with a daytime soap opera actress, friend of family or not. I didn't really connect with Jasmine because I thought her to be off-putting. I didn't feel that she was the most friendliest of the triplets, nor was Phoebe or even Eden come to think of it. I only gave this one a listen because it came AFTER MY SECOND FAVORITE OF THE FALLING FOR A ROSE series" Book 8 (the story of JORDAN & SELENA ROSE), & I wanted to know MORE about LUKE STEELE, who showed up to the Baby Shower to gift Jasmine flowers. I felt that this story didn't live up to my expectations, just as Book 7 with Phoebe & Quentin hadn't captured me as the others had.
I was missing something with this book. Was Jasmine really a Rose? I didn't get that sense of family or connection I got with some of the previous books.
Was Jasmine an actress or a political activist? When the guy on TV said what he said, I tended to agree with him. I just wasn't feeling Jasmine. I didn't feel much.of a connection between her and Luke either. Although Luke was the best part of the book. What he wanted with Jasmine is anyone's guess.
I also didn't quite get the purpose of why Jasmine was so speechless if she was doing what she always did. If there was nothing to hide, she should have easily been able to explain things to Luke, even if he was upset.
This one didn't flow for me. It was ok, but it didn't hold my interest. I kept having to come back to it.
I love how all these stories in the Rose series keep introducing you to such amazing characters of color. I love that a family of black men and women are not only smart business people but also community activists and great human beings. Luke Steele is no different. I love that his family came from struggle and worked for everything they had. I love that he cared about his people and communities even though his family moved out in his teens. He lived life by his own creed and followed his own path and Jasmine was the perfect mate for him. I love them together!
As always Stephanie, the Rose series written so beautifully. I love the familiarity the triplets have with the friends of their brothers, which then turns out to be the love of their lives. This particular book is one of my favorites because Jas and Lucas has been supporters of each other since they were kids, liked and knew a lot already about each other. I love the tempo and vibe of these two in this story. Their banter with each other was so cute and entertaining. Their chemistry was off the charts that now I understand his constant love and need for her. Great Read! Now one more twin to go. Can't wait. ReneeG 👍
Here we go, here we go again!! Stephanie you done did your thing her, you flip it and reverse it!! I enjoy this book a lot, not going to lie though 80% in, I lost my steam reading it, idk if it’s because the story wasn’t as captivating as from the jump or lack of sleep, but nonetheless it was a stuggle to get to 90%.
Just like most of the rose series you can find love, betrayal, misunderstandings, sexy time, and laughter. It was a good read for me. Read for your self and make your own conclusions... but let me leave you with this .. Luke you can bend me to your will any day!!!
I am NEVER disappointed with this "WORD SMITH'S" writings. If you need a break from being "Mom's Taxi" , "Chief Cook and Bottle Washer, " or "Employee of Week", then grab this book , or one in the series. .. WARNING: Read, with that romantic playlist, a great working cooling fan, and an adventurous appetite for romance, this book will take you places where you'll wanna stay, and play longer than you need to play. P.S. The Author-tress is not responsible for any injuries you may acquire mimicking love making induced sentences or paragraphs.I
Luke and Jasmine’s story was a great addition to this family saga. What I loved most about this book was Luke had tons of grown man swagger and was not afraid to express himself. Luke loved his woman and was not afraid to show it. This book also was a little more erotic which I found myself appreciating surprisingly. Jasmine was ambitious and had drive which I love in a female character. I would recommend this book!!!! Now I’m ready for Ms. Eden Rose I have a feeling her book will be the best yet!!!
It takes real talent to write books series and keep readers coming back for more I loved the whole series the charters pull you in and keep the suspends going on what's next a!! time high 5star book that I will recommend to al! that read web and fiction books of you miss this serious your not seriously reading urban fiction you must read in a very co!d secondarily room with a ice co!d glass of water or a nice glass of wine because t with this hot steaming read you will need it
I liked this whole series and the Valentine's series. However, I must admit I skimmed over most of this book because of the sex scenes. Don't get me wrong a good sex scene is good here and there, but after Luke & Jas finally stopped avoiding the inevitable almost every scene lead back to them having sex. It usually takes me a day to read these books and it took me about 2 weeks to read this one. I will definitely continue to read Mrs. Norris' work, but I might skip the rest of this series.
Not being able to hold back how they feel any longer the major leads having been in love since they were kids decided to explore their love. A political race provided the backdrop for their story and almost caused their new relationship to go off of the rails. Taking the bait of a political instigator our lead female makes the wrong choice which almost cost our male lead everything. Exciting read, face paced, explosive love making. Great choice!
This story was so Awesome! Luke and Jasmine have this inner connection. They feel each other. He waited her out to make sure she was ready, for he was giving. That is so HOT! I love how even though they were not together he was always thinking about her. The boat was Awesome. Stephanie has me hooked on these books. The Roses and Valentine's are some Breakfast men and women. Can't wait to see who's up next. I think it's Jacob. Saving Eden for last.
Luke and Jasmine have been in love since they were teens. Like knew she was not ready for him. He gave her time to grow and he waits for he to come to him. Jas is a head strong woman. She is an activist and loved her family. These two are hot together and you can feel the love. I might be particularly smitten with him, cause he drives a motorcycle and majored in Poli Sci! Woke and sexy!!! You hit a homerun again!!
Listen...you ready? These Rose women are just as fascinating as the men. The storyline in this series gets better and better with each book. The character development is detailed to bring the characters to life, it’s almost like reading about real celebrities. This is a series you will not want to end. I recommend this five star read to everyone who enjoys love stores with day to day real life issues. I look forward to reading more from this author.
Jasmine and Luke’s story was truly worth the wait. I really hated for it to end. Luke gave Jasmine time for their relationship to grow from infatuation to love.
Luke’s political career just meshed perfectly with Jasmine’s love of activism.
This book didn’t give me a clear indication of who’s book is next. Will it be Eden and Derek or Jacob and Carla? Absolutely loving those Roses.
The rose is a very stronger and power family. They have very stronger friends that for a code to not date family. Like has always had thing for the rose brother twins sister and he did not want to break the brothers code. Luke was a man 🚹who will fight what was his that mean going against his long time friend. Love how show Jasmine how he Amway love her. Great 👍 book can not wait to see what the other twins story going turn out twins
Two passionate and stubborn people wanting each other for over ten years, finally united in causes and love. Well written as I have enjoyed from the author. The love scenes almost burned my Kindle however, the story and plot was substantial. Anticipating book #10 in this series. By the way I enjoy the triplets differing personalities. Learning more about Jasmine's feelings for her mother was touching.
