When a demon thinks he has everything, one women will prove that he is wrong...

Envy has stolen every single power in his kingdom. Through magic, he devours all those with magic, stealing it for himself. But the one power he has never managed to steal is the one that can see his future. So when an oracle appears in his kingdom, he knows he has to steal her for himself.

Lilith has grown up in a circus. Traveling throughout all of the kingdoms, she has seen much and predicted even more prophecies than ever before. Until a certain demon king waltzes into one of her performances, and all she can see is darkness in his future. There is no future in him, just as she cannot see a future in herself.

Stealing her is easy. But keeping her alive? That's much harder.

The Demon King will stop at nothing to keep her for himself. When he cannot bring himself to steal her power, he decides that she will be his and his alone. But her old master has other plans. An insidious plot runs throughout the kingdom. Not just to overthrow the demon king, but to remove the threat from its source. Her.

He has more magic at his fingertips than any other creature to ever exist. And Envy will use every single spell he knows to keep her safe.

4.25!!

Thank you to the author for the ARC!! This series is one of my favourites always

I didnt really care for the FMC so much this time around & I also felt like we didn’t get a good glimpse of what Envy’s kingdom really looked like in the way we have in the last couple of books. That being said, as always the MMC Envy & his brothers absolutely carried this. I cannot frickin wait for the last 3 books 🙃

Demon Mark ARC review

Where do I freaking start. Oh yeah. Emma, whatever you put out, I’ll always read.

I loved this so much.

We go from traveling circus type deal, him essentially kidnapping her and them slowwwwwwllley falling for each other.

I don’t want to go off about too much cause this book truly just needs to be read. The plot. The characters. The freaking bird, Orphe. You always make the best little side characters Emma! This one was sassy and kinda mean and I loved every minute.

This world just keeps expanding and I’m eagerly waiting to see more of it. To know the story of all seven. I almost don’t want it to end, but I’m so curious about Wrath I could pull my hair out 🤣

The concept you give to each character is just brilliant. Chefs kiss my dear.

I read this book as an ARC and as expected of Emma, another literary master piece! The MMC reminds of a playful and flirty Loki. The way she crafted the FMC was really unique, an oracle like from the Greek mythology with her own struggles of her power. Emma slowly builds up the tension between her two characters and I always love how their love was not “easy”. If this book would be made into a Marvel movie, I would 100% watch it! It is truly a beautiful book, artfully written, and a book that you can’t put down once you start it.

Emma Hamm’s writing always pulls me in with her beautiful prose and immersive worlds, and The Demon Mark was no exception. The premise hooked me right away—a demon who devours magic, an oracle who sees only darkness in him, and a battle of power, fate, and desire. On paper, it had everything I love: danger, forbidden romance, and rich lore.

The action scenes were a standout. Every time the plot picked up speed, I found myself on edge, completely absorbed. The pacing also kept me engaged since there was always something happening, never a dull moment.

That said, while I liked the idea of Envy and Lilith’s relationship, I didn’t feel as invested in them as I wanted to be. Envy falling first was a fun dynamic, and I liked his shift from wanting to consume her power to desperately wanting to keep her safe. Lilith, though, sometimes felt torn in ways that made her harder to connect with—caught between following her heart and doing as she was told, which left her feeling a bit passive at times.

Surprisingly, the character who really grabbed my attention wasn’t the main couple at all—it was Sloth. The glimpses of his past were so intriguing that I kept wanting more of his story instead of Envy and Lilith’s. He stole the spotlight for me, and I cannot wait to dive into the next book to learn more about him.

Overall, this book had strong writing, exciting action, and an original concept, but the central romance didn’t fully land for me. Still, I’m definitely continuing the series, especially for Sloth’s story.

I'm a huge fan of this series and each time there is a new one I'm like, "THIS. This one is my favorite!" It ate, or is gass (listen I don't know what the cool kids say now, and it didn't know then either) but I LOVE a guy with tattoos. Might be because wonderful hubs of mine has tattoos, but that's besides the point! Dragons?! YES. Another Spirit turning from a to z? YES. Basically- this book has it all. Smooth, witty dialog that has you devouring this book in a day!

I really enjoy Emma Hamm’s mermaid books (this series started off promising too), but all of her FMCs are skinny and white and it’s starting to become incredibly noticeable. I can only read so much about their porcelain white skin.

So many, many thanks to Emma for allowing me a chance to read this story early. My feedback is given freely and honestly.

My friends.. this is another fantastic installment in Emma’s Seven Deadly Demons series. You will want to read this series in order to have the most fulfilling idea of how the kingdoms have come to their current state, but starting here will not ruin your enjoyment of any of the other stories.

Our FMC Lilith HITS YOU IN THE HEART, Y’ALL. She is a woman who’s been controlled and manipulated her entire life, but she doesn’t realize the depth of which she’s become dependent upon the people around her. Her chance encounter with the demon king, Mr. Confident With Skills to Back it Up, Envy, puts her on a path towards a different future.. but even though she has the magical ability to see the future of others, her own is clouded in darkness.

Where all these books have done a phenomenal job of following the sin and then documenting the journey and the counterpoint of that emotion, I feel like this one was the most meaningful to me personally. As someone who suffers from depression and anxiety, I relate to Lilith and the way she references her own views, thoughts and feelings. I enjoyed the way we got a chance to learn more about Envy and the depth of his character (so much more than just jealousy and a drive to own what someone else has). I especially liked reading about or Orphe - who doesn’t want an anthropomorphic crow sidekick?

I appreciate how the story gave us additional insight into the three brothers we’ve read about so far, and also teased at the brothers we will see in future installments. AND! A hallmark of Emma’s writing is also one of my favorite things about this series: the world building. Each of these stories have showcased four very distinct kingdoms with beautifully described scenery, colors, smells, magical creatures, etc. Emma has crafted individual fantasy realms that are all fitting inside of the umbrella that are the seven brothers. The writing is incredibly descriptive, much like other stories of hers that you’ve likely heard about (insert plug for Deep Waters series here) where you feel like you’re reading poetry. Conquering deeply emotional characters with strong character arcs has to be complicated, but Emma did an excellent job of writing about brother number four and doing it in a way that’s uniquely yet respectfully still connected to the previous.

If you like :
- watching a young woman come into her own with a gentle push in the right direction, but not being solely reliant upon the help of her male counterpart
- complex relationships that grow in the absence of supportive family, found or otherwise
- dual-POV that walks you through the discovery of deeper motivations and feelings in a character who believes themself to be one-dimensional
- shadow daddies… with tattoos..
.. you will enjoy this next installment of the series. I am grateful for every story that has emerged so far, and look forward to one in the next one will be released!

He's the demon King known as Envy and he'll do anything to get what he wants especially when it comes to stealing more magic for himself... so when he discovers a powerful oracle with the power to see the future, an ability he has yet to steal... he plans on stealing her for himself... little does he realize that she might have stolen his heart as well. Envy is one of the Seven Deadly Demons, having stolen every single power in his kingdom and collecting and devouring more magic for himself. The one power he has yet to obtain however is the ability to see his future... and oracles are a rarity... yet when he gets news that an oracle has appeared in his kingdom he'll do anything to steal her powers. However when he finds her being mistreated and abused... he suddenly wants to protect her and keep her all for himself... and the more he wants her the more he doesn't even seem to consider taking her powers but keeping her all for himself. Yet the circus he's stolen her from is determined to get her back... even if it means hunting her down and killing her. Envy will have to see if he has the ability to save her while also discovering that despite stealing her for himself, she's the one who has stolen his heart. This is the fourth book in a series, though you can read it as a standalone. Oh how I absolutely devoured this book. I've been a huge fan of Emma Hamm's writing and this series has been such a fun one to read. Envy and Lilith were a great couple. I loved how Envy fell so hard for Lilith without even realizing it himself and I loved that Lilith had her own strength and wouldn't let anyone control her fate. The romance was really well done in this and the story was such a fun one. The world itself is a really interesting one and the magic is unique. Overall, I would absolutely recommend this series and book to any fantasy romance lovers out there!

I keep thinking about the ending here, and I’m so. So unfulfilled. I’m left with so many answers. And perhaps that’s an art in itself, because you damn well know I’ll be reading the next 3 books.

SPOILERS START HERE

Why did the red head know that all paths would lead to Lilith’s death and therefore did not let her see her future? And if that’s the case, I’m rather confused as to why she had helped Envy in the beginning to get to Lilith.

The circus claims to have been her family but yet, we know nothing about them.

If Lorenzo was really so treacherous and conniving, you’re really telling me that’s the pop off at the end?

ALTHOUGH I can give credit where it’s due and really do love the idea of Envy having enough compassion to give his brother what he needed (even if Sloth was not cognizant of it) or the fact that some of the most chaotic/harmful individuals that many folks may follow is really an unimportant and weak person who happens to have the gift of a silver tongue.

It was unsatisfying to not receive answers to some points in the book not being wrapped up. I saw another review talking about this book feeling as if it is a character filler and I can see that, but I can also see the beauty in the trust earned between Envy and Lilith and the gradual shift in healthier switches in personality/behaviors on both their ends. It takes two to tango, no? So despite my “unsatisfied” feelings with the end, I give 4 stars to give credit where it’s due. And as a therapist, I appreciate a pretty accurate representation of how hard it can be to let go of individuals that hurt/traumatize us, no matter how frustrating it may be for us readers (mirrors real life rather well, no?). I look forward to continuing this series :) and I hope to have further answers with Sloth.

I've loved all the Seven Deadly Demons books and this was no exception.
Envy is a ruthless leader, who takes the magic of every magic user for his desire to possess and to be needed. Deep down, he wants to be needed by everyone. He's not expecting his life to change when he meets a beautiful oracle, Lilith.
Lilith has been a puppet for most of her life, doing everything her circus master asks. Her life completely changes when Envy becomes interested in her and for the first time, she feels in control of her powers.
I enjoyed their relationship and how they bring the best out in each other! She makes him kinder and more understanding, while he helps her understand her powers don't control her. However, I do wish their relationship had started a bit differently. He did save her from her master, but he did technically also imprison her for a while...
In the end, though he apologizes for it and understands his wrongdoings, which led to a great character arc.
There's also a larger plot at play, as in the other books. Some humans are trying to destroy the demon king. Envy and Sloth also understand that suddenly, after a thousand years of remaining the same, they all start to find love and change for the better. It's quite a mystery to be solved!
I really loved Sloth. He's such an interesting character, and I'm very interested in his past with his mystery lady. His book will be quite exciting!

Envy and Lilith are a perfect pairing

With each new book in the Seven Deady Demons series, I fall more in love with their stories.

Envy is definitely a morally grey MMC. He steals power and magic from others. He does it out of envy that someone has power he doesn't have, but he also does it so he is ready to protect the people of his kingdom from anything that could be a threat to them. So, really he is just a big softie behind his dark and evil image.

Lilith's background is murky because she only knows a life of struggle and telling people's futures in the traveling circus she calls home. She doesn't want to leave that life, but only because she doesn't believe she deserves anything better. She does deserve better, and she will take it.

Lilith cannot see Envy's future, she can't see anything when she looks into him, only darkness, emptiness, nothing. That blackness means she can touch him without fear of losing herself to the oracle power that wants to dive into people's lives. When Envy discovers the abuse and neglect she endured in the circus, he begins his tumble into falling hard and fast for his little oracle. He really is a softie.

We get to spend some time with Sloth, who will be the MMC of the next book in the series. He transforms into something so terrifyingly beautiful. I am really looking forward to his story.

Fantastic series from an amazing author!

Envy & Lilth ♡

I've been eagerly awaiting the next installment in this series ever since Emma announced it. I really enjoyed their story it was a great addition to Seven Deadly Demons. I'm so excited for Sloths story now, too. I think Lilith is my favorite heroine so far, she was strong but not blindingly so. I liked that Envy didn't feel as controlling as the other men of this series despite thinking he'd be far more morally grey than the rest, lol together they were perfect 🫶

Envy was known in his kingdom for taking with care. If someone had a power he wanted or happened to be more powerful, he'd take their power, adding to his own. So when he heard about traveling circus that contained an Oracle, he knew he needed the power. But he didn't expect to be so captivated that he appeared out of a pool of water surrounded by priestesses. In that moment, he wanted to own her. But the Oracles master refused his offer to but her as did the Oracle. He didn't take that loss, refusing to accept that she couldn't be obtained. Having never been told, he quickly became obsessed with having her, and when he did, she was locked away in his castle. Her master refused to let her go as she brought in the most money, and so a war broke out between Envy and Liliths master to have her. But after learning how she had been abused, Envy would fight the whole world to ensure she'd never be used for her gift again.

Definitely Recommend Reading 📚

I am the demon king, and yet you are the one who has me on my knees. Begging for an ounce of your attention.
~
I know I say it every single time she releases a deadly demon book, or a book in general, but Emma Hamm just. Keeps. Getting. Better! This is the fourth book in the demon series, about our demon friend Envy, but you can read them in ANY order, and that means you can pick this one up NOW! Need a hot tattled possessive demon fix? Well, here you go! Lilith and Envy’s journey is one that is just so much fun to go on with them, and Orphe was the…raven on the cake (bear with me, okay?). Envy, our proud demon king, went on his unwitting journey and even went so far as to call on one of his brothers for help (this one is really cool, I really hope his book is next!), and we even got to see some insight into the why of what has been happening to the kings. Lilith’s journey is self-worth and independence after being trained to rely on others her whole life, and to come into her own as the powerful and benevolent oracle that she is was a blast, and my heart was in my throat during the plot that brought our protagonists and antagonists together. I flew through this, and I cannot recommend this series enough. You need it, little love 😜

Envy is, well, envious of the companionship his brother's have found, but he swears he won't fall for the same trap. Until he goes to the circus and sees the oracle.

Lillith works for the circus and enjoys telling fortunes, leading people to the best path in life. Her master isn't so kind to her, but he provides "tea" that is like a reset button for Lillith to get away from the tax of her power. She's meek, willing to beg at "master's" feet for this tea. Then Envy steals her...

Then Lillith is sharp and prickly to Envy, with good reason, but it didn't seem to go along with her character. She threatened suicide as well if Envy tried to touch her... I didn't understand that either. But I did like how Lillith developed once she got away from the man who had her under his power.

I liked this story, the oracle was an interesting character who told a few fortunes I would like to read a story about.

At this time, this is the last book of the series. Sloth is up next it seems, and his story sounds interesting.

Emma Hamm manages to keep impressing me with her ability to write unique plots and characters that differs from the book before. Many authors usually tend to repeat a lot of the same stories or personalities when it comes to longer series with multiple books. While she does have a main trope and some small details that is repeated in each book, (these elements is however excused because it has to do with the main plot of the series, it’s like the little thread holding all the books together) she still manages to capture different personalities and write different type of relationships based on specific emotions and characteristics. Every kingdom is also very different from the other and it’s always fun to explore what each kingdom looks like as a new one gets revealed by each book. The plot and characters are still not fully as deep as I’d like them to be and I do tend to drift away at times when I near the middle of the end of these books but overall I think it’s a decent read and that it has potential.

This newest book features Envy and the beautiful oracle Lilith in his underground kingdom.

Envy is probably the most demon/villian like of the brothers so far. He wants all the unique magic and gifts all to himself and doesn’t care how he goes about getting them or who he has to go through to get it. Which is how Lilith ends up a ‘guest’ in his castle.

Lots of magical creatures and tattoos that come to life at Envy’s command. Orphe was a great add and I loved her character.

A m/f romantic fantasy with a demon king who craves unique magic and is covered in living tattoos, and his sassy feathered companion. A captive oracle with immense power who must find her truth. A captive bride trope, a rebellion, lots and lots of magic, slow burn, enemies to lovers with a happily ever after.

Multiple povs told in third person

Characters-
Lilith - oracle
Envy - demon king
Orphe - Ambition that took the form of a raven
Sloth is introduced

Steam - some steamy scenes

Book 4 in the Seven Deadly Demons series

A need to take. A desire to be free. Trust is hard-earned, but worth the effort.

A desirable, emotionally charged, sexually explicit, high spice fantasy romance filled with banter, angst, desire, acceptance, and love. Strong characters who show tremendous growth. Detailed world building. Intriguing interwoven brotherly series that continues to capture my attention. This one is my favorite in the series so far.

In a book where trust, acceptance, and embracing feelings are the ultimate obstacles, but the main characters embark on this journey of self discovery, acceptance, and unconditional love.

I really enjoyed this book. The twists and turns and character development was great! I’m excited for the next book and story. It’s a great series and is getting better and better.

The demon character Envy gives serious shadow daddy vibes with all his tattoos that become creatures etc. I love the concept and his growth as a character. His relationship with Orphe I love and how his companion is another emotion/attribute. The oracle in the circus concept I loved and the use of power and her own power evolving with her personal growth.

This was my favourite book of the series so far and I’m excited for the next one!

I always look forward to reading the next book in this series! Just like before, this book did not disappoint 👏
I really enjoyed the dynamic between both FMC and MMC. I also liked how strong and independent the FMC is throughout the book, not wanting to be dependent of the MMC for her safety. I also liked the banter between both characters, it made it more enjoyable to read~!
If you like any of the TROPES mentioned before, I highly recommend this book

Emma has done it again! I didn't think we could top Gluttonys' book, but I'm now an Envy gal all the way. I loved the banter between the characters. Also, he has sentient tattoos that can protect him, his woman, and his realm?! Yes, please!!!! Lilith was also a great character to see grow throughout the book and see herself come into her own. It was also super fun to see a glimpse of our new dragon daddy (not gonna ruin who makes an appearance, but he can turn into a dragon, and that should be enough to buy the book).

Envy is a crazy guy, but I love how he is immediately obsessed with Lilith. I really liked getting glimpses of what the other princes were up to, and I think that with each book I become more immersed in the world. Lilith is so hauntingly beautiful, and I loved how descriptive her Oracle scenes were. I really felt for her as she was practically owned by the circus, and addicted to the "drugs". I wasn't sure about their relationship at first, but I slowly grew to think that they compliment each other well, and Envy did try really hard to help her when she was suffering.

I think that Emma Hamm writes really interesting worlds and characters, but being away from this one for so long I was kind of taken aback by all the magic? Like I thought in this world it was kind of rare and mostly human for some reason? I also thought the main couple got together fast and not believably… I don’t know. Not my fav but I still enjoyed.

Labyrinth and evil circus vibes

This book is a riveting tale about a demon losing himself to his envious obsessive nature and an Oracle trapped by the whims of her master. It has a Gothic labyrinth vibes to it. I really enjoyed how the main characters developed their relationship and how the universe and lore for the series expanded. This series just keeps getting better.

Same as the others

I like these, but it's kind of the same storyline in every single one. Boy-meets-girl, girl and boy don't like each other. Then they end up falling in love. Having to fight something in the girls' past and they win with the help of the brother that is in the next book.

DNFed @ ch.11 or 26% of the book.

Compared to the author's Deep Water series, this book just paled in comparison between the world building and the whole captor and captive relationship. The FL and ML just had no personality.
