Are you ready for a swoony reverse age gap romance?
I like plans. I like to live by them. I like to know what my future holds. Sure, none of my plans have worked as they should have, and my future is murky at best. But one thing I know for sure is that Matteo Loverson does not fit into it.
I disagree with that statement. I think I came in at the perfect time.
You didn’t come in. You bulldozed your way through every wall.
What can I say? I like open-plan spaces, and your heart was too closed off.
For a good reason. I’m a single mom. I can’t afford my one-night stands to show up and declare they are moving in. I can’t fall in love with a man who is younger than me and never has been in a committed relationship.
Sure you can, beastie. Because I’m not leaving.
Stop calling me that.
As you can see, I am still working on taming this beast.
I really wish the author hadn’t made Matteo a disgusting manwhore because I really loved him other than that. The reminders that he used to be (used to be as in up until the literal moment he met the h) so gross would take me out of the story and kept me from rating this five stars. Also the h’s pushing away was getting to be annoying and almost too much. Thankfully she gave it up before I got fed up
Ok so hear me out…..did I apply for this arc due to one particular trope that was listed? Yes. Did I know it was book four in the series? No. Did I care? Also no. This was a wild ride so buckle tf up 🍼
Zoe’s entire world has come crashing down in the span of a few weeks. Picking up the pieces of her life she runs to the tiny costal town which houses her new best friend and her family in order to get some space from everything. Meeting Matteo was never in the cards but once these two share one night together- nothing is ever the same.
As Zoe navigates parenthood by her self while also entertaining the idea of opening up to the younger man as someone to rely on she comes to realize that not only is the person she never expected exactly who she needs but he also wants to be there. Matteo’s instalove/ smitten behavior was absolutely unhinged in the best kind of way. Alexa- play “Down Bad” by Taylor Swift, because this man is the literal definition of the term.
I loved all of the group chats/ found family additions to this book. The side characters really shaped this story and gave so much background that I didn’t have but also didn’t make me feel like I was missing anything. This truly was an interconnected standalone. Also… no third act breakup??? Daisy you spoil me. That along with the k!nks??? They sure were k!nk!ng….let me tell you what 😮💨
This book very much gave small town rom com- heavy on the comedy/ ridiculous factor. Very Meghan Quinn- esque if you will. Thoroughly enjoyed and already planning on reading the first three that I definitely didn’t know existed 🫣 Thank you to Daisy Thorn + Luna Literary + team for this ARC for review!💘
ARC Review of Tame The Beast by Daisy Thorn🌼🍼🍸🤰🏻💍📚💘
PERFECTION DOESN’T EVEN COME CLOSE
Damn I love the Loverly Cave family with all my heart and soul. The way these characters are imprinted in my heart for eternity, I always wish Loverly Cave actually existed so I can go live there forever.
Daisy is just such an amazing writer, she’s a Legend, her writing makes me happy and I will forever love her and her books. I honestly always have high expectations with her books, considering I am obsessed with each and every one of hers, they never disappoint. Zoe and Matteo stole my heart, my soul and made me believe in unconditional love again, I swooned, I cried, I laughed and kicked my feet like a 15 year old reading this magnificent book, this is a piece of art, no other words to describe it.💘
Tropes ✨ Single mom ✨ Found family ✨ Pregnant from another man ✨ Small beach town ✨ One-night stand to lovers ✨ He takes care of her daughter ✨ Reverse age gap ✨ Playboy MMC ✨ Spicy RomCom ✨ No 3rd act breakup
🩵My favorite Quotes🩵
“You say everyone always leaves? You know why?” “Because I’m not good enough. And that’s not self-pity. It’s a fact.” “Oh no, my ray of sunshine. They all left because they knew you were never meant to be theirs. You were always mine.”
“Tell me you’re only here because of Mellie. Tell me I’m delusional to think otherwise.” “Oh, baby. I love that little girl with all of my heart. But you make up my soul. You run though my blood. You consume my every thought day or night. You are a part of me. The one who gave me that beautiful baby.”
I don’t love her with my eyes. I love her with my soul.
‼️Book coming out August 20th and I'm already ecstatic for everyone to read it and love it as much as I did‼️
Looking back at my teenage years….I’ve been here! To feel so low and to not see the signs that I should have seen….nobody should ever feel that way.
I really liked Zoe’s personality. Her spunkiness at times and other times built walls so high no one could get through. Zoe’s character resonates with so many women, including myself. But…Daisy has this superpower of making her MMC the most hilarious, swoon worthy, persistent men in her books. She always tops the last MMC, and Matteo proves that!
Ooohh the RIZZ this man has 😮💨😮💨😮💨😮💨 I can’t wait for you guys to meet Matteo.
Blurb: After Zoe finds out her bf has been ignoring her for long periods of time, she finds out just how horrible Justin could be. Then, another snowball hits and she tries to navigate how to live her life given the lemons she now has.
Matteo, lives in loverly cave and works the bar and sees Zoe….all he wants is her.
Tropes: Insta lust Reverse age gap Lactation kink Minor 🍑 play Single mom “My boyfriend” “Our daughter” One night stand
Did I think I could read a book with a lactation kink? Absolutely not. Did it stop me? Clearly not. I spent a combined three years of my life lactating and remember all too well the mental mind fuck of shifting my brain from my “mom boobs” to my “porn boobs” (yes, I called them that because they were porn star huge). it wasn’t exactly easy, to shift mental gears.
But weird kink aside, this book actually worked! It wasn't as strange as I thought it would be—until Matteo dropped the line, "spank me, Mommy." No. Just no. Too far, gross! I nearly stopped reading right there. Thankfully, that moment only happened once.
Now, about Matteo and Zoe. Matteo ♥ 100% golden retriever energy. He signed up for the whole "family starter pack" without a second thought and bulldozed his way into Zoe and Mellie's lives. Also, Mellie’s name origin....cute!!! Zoe, seemed likable, she had her guard up, as she should after the shit she went through, and the cougar theme, she is only 6 years older than Matteo, not a huge gap.
I’ve been in a book rut, but thanks to an IG reel, I found myself staying up all night devouring this book cover to cover. Zoe’s reservations about Matteo was valid, and their instant connection, was believable. Sometimes, relationships take off like rocket ships, and these two had all the spark!
This was my first book by Daisy Thorn, and it was a fun, light read. No third-act breakup drama, just a little spice, a sweet story, and some hilarious supporting characters. I think I’m about to dive into a Daisy Thorn book binge.
This was my first book I've read by Daisy and it's safe to say I need to go back and read them all now. I fell in love with Lovely Cave from the very first chapter. This one is an interconnected standalone and I have not read the previous books, I didn't feel lost or like I should have read the others beforehand. But in saying that, it was freaking amazing and you should definitely read the series from the start. Because now I'll be going back to read them all 😍
Zoe finds herself pregnant with her married ex, and decides to take a little break in the little beachside town of Loverly Cave. Matteo is home from college and working in the family bar. After some flirty banter, they spend the night together and then go seperate ways. Next time they meet, Zoe is in labour and Matteo is their every step of the way - Matteo while Zoe is in labour had me laughing out loud 🤭😂 so good!
Zoe and Matteo have stolen my heart 🥹 this was such a beautiful story. I loved the banter between these two. Matteo steps up for Zoe and her baby without a second thought, he's caring and protective of them both. Matteo had me swooning and laughing 😂 He is the ultimate book boyfriend! I loved him from the very start 🥰 I adore Zoe and the way she handles herself through this journey.
The found family in this book is a chaotic but so so good. They all accepted Zoe with open arms😍
Matteo and Zoe🖤 I have loved all the couples in Loverly Cave but these two are by far my favorite! Matteo is seriously the sweetest man and would do anything for his girls. This man had me swooning through out the whole book, he was perfect for Zoe and seeing him be the best girl dad was so sweet. The love he had for Zoe and Mellie was beautiful, this man would do anything to make them happy. These two were 100% meant for each other🩷 Zoe has been through so much in the past and seeing her find happiness was beautiful. From the moment Zoe came to Loverly Cave she was welcomed and accepted by the whole community, she had so much support and love at a time when she needed it most.
This was such a sweet, spicy and fun read. I just love this world that Daisy has created! The Fanatstic Four and Love Hive had me cracking up throughout the whole story. Im so glad we got more of the Levine family and I cannot wait for more from this series!
I absolutely love this world that Daisy created so of course I hoped on board to return to it! And once again I wasn’t disappointed and found myself highly entertained!
This is technically the 4th book in the Loverly Cove series, and while I do recommend reading all to understand the town’s dynamics and to get the full picture, it is not necessary. This book can be read as a standalone. However this book follows Zoe, who is the best friend of the second books FMC, and you will get some of their shared history in this book.
This is a single mom, reverse age gap story. It is a, he falls first, and harder, kind of book. Also, an he won’t take no for an answer, kind of book! And the way he is with her daughter is just icing on the cake! Really Matteo just makes you swoon! This book also has some kinks, one in particular that I wasn’t expecting I’d like, but I felt that it was done tastefully! I actually really enjoyed it in this book! The scene around the bonfire had me laughing out loud, thankfully I wasn’t drinking anything.
I loved the banter and the wit. I loved the dynamic between the main couple. I love that they balanced each other out. I loved how invested Matteo was. I loved Zoe’s dad! And I absolutely loved seeing all of the other couples and Loverly crew! I love this world and I cannot wait to see where Daisy takes us next!
Laugh out loud, small quirky town, meddling friends and townspeople, single mom, reverse age gap, no 3rd act breakup, just an overall fun cheesy romcom!

I absolutely love this entire series! Daisy Thorn is one of my top 10 authors of the year I’ve only read this series by her but I’ll definitely be reading more. The town that this series takes place in is Loverly Cave & it sounds like it would be an absolute blast! I love the two main characters. Zoe who hasn’t been lucky in love or her taste in men and thinks she’s going to be on her own with her current situation for the rest of her life. She’s jaded and still reeling from finding out that he was #1 married, #2 also dating her boss, and #3 Zoe had been in a relationship she thought with this man for about a year with absolutely no idea of #1 or #2. She is utterly mortified and completely blindsided by this whole situation, but to make matters worse she finds out she is pregnant with his baby. After having a very short conversation with the father of the child & he asks if she’s telling him because she wants money to remove the problem. She decides to keep the child and have him sign away his parental rights to the child instead & moves to Loverly Cave after having visited for a week to just get away and figure life out. On her visit she meets a bartender named Matteo who is the biggest flirt/playboy who has a commitment phobia. Zoe decides he’d be the perfect person to have a one night stand with since he’s leaving the next day. They have an incredible chemistry! Six months later Matteo comes back to town after finishing college and goes to pick up something from his mom only to realize he’s been sent to see Zoe and she’s super pregnant which has him in a complete tailspin and just as he’s trying to get answers her water breaks and they head to the hospital. He’s there for her throughout labor & delivery and even helps to name what he thinks is his daughter only to find out he’s not the father and he leaves the hospital absolutely gutted. He sulks for a few weeks until the “fantastic 4” tells him to go after what he wants. He goes to Zoe’s with a bag in hand and tells her he’s moving in & helping her take care of the baby.Mellie who had been crying nonstop for weeks suddenly stops in his presence. He spends the next month showing Zoe that he wants to be with her and be a family. She thinks she has all the reasons why it won’t work. Can he show her it can & if so will she be able to let her guard down? Could this actually work? Overall Rating- ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️.5/5 Spice Rating-🌶️🌶️🌶️🌶️/5
I received this book as an ARC and asked to give an honest review of the book. I definitely recommend this book as well as the others in the series. Thank you to @daisythornauthor & @lunaliterary.management for the opportunity.
4.5☆ - Daisy is the queen of spicy romcoms and this was another winner for me! Every time I open a Loverly Cave book I feel like an instant smile spreads across my face because each book is like a warm hug (with a side of spice and a whole lot of giggles). Daisy balances romance, humour, plot and spice so perfectly every.single.time.
While this is an interconnected standalone, I highly recommend reading the previous books to enhance the overall experience. And you’ll have really great time, so totally worth the binge read!
Zoe + Matteo meet when she’s visiting the small beach town of Loverly Cave. He’s home from college working at his family bar, she’s in town for a break after finding out she’s pregnant to her ex who was actually married. After a game of never have I ever and some fun, flirty banter they spend the night together. When they see each other again, it’s when Zoe is (quite literally) about to pop and Matteo goes into full family man mode.
𝗪𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝘁𝗼 𝗲𝘅𝗽𝗲𝗰𝘁: small beach town, single mama, she’s pregnant but it’s not his, reverse age gap, reformed playboy, found family, one night stand to lovers, spicy romcom, no third act breakup.
We previously met Zoe as Joy’s assistant and new best friend. The two bonded over being burned by the same man and Zoe ends up pregnant, alone and scared. I adored her and the way she handled herself throughout this journey. The dynamic and banter between her and Matteo was such a highlight, I was completely invested in their story right from the beginning.
Matteo may have been younger but this man was everything. The way I swooned, laughed and then swooned again over him. He stepped up for Zoe and her baby without a second thought and didn’t falter. He was caring, protective and completely devoted to his girls.
Daisy writes the reformed playboy trope so well, and this was one of my faves because right from the moment he meets Zoe he knows she’s different and nobody else exists to him. He is the definition of 𝙬𝙝𝙚𝙣 𝙮𝙤𝙪 𝙠𝙣𝙤𝙬, 𝙮𝙤𝙪 𝙠𝙣𝙤𝙬 and 𝙞𝙛 𝙞𝙩’𝙨 𝙣𝙤𝙩 𝙝𝙚𝙧, 𝙞𝙩’𝙨 𝙣𝙤𝙗𝙤𝙙𝙮.
I love how Joy, the Levine family and the entire town embraced Zoe. The found family vibes in this are so strong and I loved every moment. We get all of our favourite characters again and I loved every moment of their love, encouragement, support and pure chaos. I am ready and waiting for more Loverly Cave goodness and can’t wait to see what Daisy does next!
Zoe likes plans. She likes to know what the future holds. She thinks that there is a future with a high profiled cardiologist where she works. Turns out it’s not. He's already married. And sleeps with half the female work force. Heartbroken and pregnant with said cardiologist’s baby she relocates to Loverly Cave with her boss now best friend Joy. She doesn't need a man, she can raise her baby on her own in this lovely small town. Then enters Matteo, the oh so hot twenty-three year old playboy set to take over the local bar. Matteo doesn't particularly follow the plans or the rules set by others. He makes his own. He doesn't want to settle down or have a family. Like ever! But then this ray of sunshine enters his life, then a little watermelon and suddenly that is all he wants, but who would want a clueless man-#ore for a father of their baby?
Well as it turns out Matteo, me! Me! I would love that! Gawd!! I don't know what you put in this book Daisy, but it is perfection! Matteo is perfect! He is my new favourite of Loverly Cave. I’m sorry Alec. Theres a new king in town. The way Matteo is written is genius to me, the humour, the inner monologues, he really feels like a twenty-something care-free spirit and how he tackles how his life changes is just brilliant. The birth through Matteo’s POV is some of the funniest reading I’ve ever done. But then the «Never have I ever wanted to be someone I’m not. Until today…» rips your heart out.
I think Zoe is the funniest FMC I’ve read to date! I cackled from her thoughts from the first page onwards. She is so relatable and I just love her so much! She is so amazing and how she deals with everything is priceless.
I LOVE being back in Loverly Cave. It’s like coming home to a friend getting a warm hug. I want to live in this place, I want to raise my kids here and be part of the Love Hive Chat with the Fantastic Four. And I want my cottage on the beach here.
I cant wait for more!
🍼 Reverse Age Gap 🍉 Playboy MMC 🍼 One-Night Stand to Lovers 🍉 Found Family 🍼 Single Mom 🍉 Pregnant from Another Man 🍼 He Takes Care of Her Daughter 🍉 Small Beach Town
Wow! What a book! This is my first Daisy Thorn book and I have to say...she did a great job with this book. I am so excited to read more from her catalog.
So, in Tame the Beast, we meet Zoe. Zoe is a scientist and has been in a relationship with her boss' boss for a year. One day, she goes to an event and sees a beautiful woman on his arm. "What is happening here," she wonders. Then, she looks closer and see a ring on the woman's left finger...and a ring on her boyfriend's finger. It's then she realizes that she has been dating a married man for a whole year! If that is not enough...just a few weeks later, Zoe finds out that she is pregnant with this man's baby? Can you imagine? My mouth was on the floor at that revelation. I knew then that this book was going to be good!
Well, after all of this, Zoe decides to go take a little break in Loverly Cave, a small town where she hopes to get a break from all the crazy in her life. There, she meets Matteo. At 23, he is 6 years her junior and when after the two meet, Zoe's life changes forever!
This was such a cute read. I loved it! Matteo was perfect. Once he fell for Zoe, he refused to let her go. And I loved his relationship with Mellie! What a wonderful dad. I also loved the way he defended Zoe against her mother toward and how his ultimate goal was to make sure that Zoe and Mellie were happy and loved! It was great to see that despite what Zoe went through growing up with such a horrible mom, she found a wonderful group of friends and family in Loverly Cave. And her stepfather...wow! What a standup guy.
This book is fast-paced, sweet, full of good spice (and kinks) and I would definitely recommend it. It is a quick read (I read it all in just a few hours) and it will keep you laughing and swooning!
Though it is part of a series, it can be read by itself though it is recommended that you read the other stories to better understand who the characters are in the story.
first of all, thank you Daisy so much for the arc. 🫶🏼 this is the 4th in this series. and seriously? it might be my favorite one. i was so excited to visit loverly cave again, i was reminded again why i love this town so much Daisy wrote such a sweet, emotional and spicy story. and i ate it up again. i read this book in 6 hours because i just could not stop. Wasn’t possible.
if i being honest, i loved everything. and matteo was daddy material. it was like so ahh 😭❤️🩹
zoe holsted. this girl is truly so amazing. she deserves to be treated like matteo treats her, because she was often treated so wrong and has always deserved this kind of treatment. ❤️🩹 i just really really liked her character, so was so amazing. she has so many different sides but like i love it.
matteo loverson. you are such a mighty good man. how he treats his girls is just the sweetest. he is a dad girl all the way, and it was so damn heartwarming to read. and how well and loving he is to zoe is just so damn adorable. how he ridiculous he was sometimes was just the funniest thing ever.
i love this whole series so much and it felt like coming home reading this book again. this town is truly so supportive, homey and also very ridiculous but you can’t go anything else than love them because everyone has such a big heart ❤️ I can’t wait what story Daisy is writing for the next book, but I will read it anyway because it will be amazing ❤️🩹
please read this book when it’s out, but i would prefer reading the first three books first if you don’t want to get spoiled 🫶🏼
ARC Book Review Tame The Beast A Novel Written By Daisy Thorn Fiction - Romance Published August 2024 326 Pages ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Daisy Thorn brings us back to the quaint small beach town of Loverly Cave. The meddling residents of this town promote love and romance.
Book 4 tells the story of Zoe Holsted, a scientist visiting her boss, Joy, in Loverly Cave. Zoe has recently discovered her boyfriend is a married man who has had affairs with other women. She is pregnant with his child and has declared men are no longer on her life plan. She is looking for calm and peace as she comes to grips with being a single mom during her stay in Loverly Cave.
Enter Matteo, a recent college graduate who is a bartender at his family’s bar. When Matteo and Zoe meet, it leads to an explosive one night stand. A brief misunderstanding leads Matteo to believe he is the father of Zoe’s baby. Even after learning the child is not his, Matteo eagerly takes on the role of fatherhood. The former player embraces this new role while wooing Zoe.
I loved all the characters the author has created in this quirky town. Matteo is a dream. The author has included a quote focusing on love at the beginning of each chapter. I loved this unique feature. I looked forward to reading each new quote. Some are familiar. Throughout the story, Zoe and Matteo play the game Never Have I Ever… to get to know each other better.
I am so happy that this series continues with books 5 and 6.
“They all left because they knew you were never meant to be theirs….You were always mine.”
Zoe is living her dream until one hectic week she learns the most devastating news. The man she was with for a year, married. She’s dealing with an emotional rollercoaster of a week only to learn she’s pregnant.
No, Zoe doesn’t give up. Zoe becomes a strong, independent woman when she visits her friend Joy in Loverly Cave. While she’s processing all this information, enter Matteo, the young, hot bartender at the only bar in town. After a mind-blowing one night stand leaves both of them wanting more, Matteo returns to college and Zoe her dream life. Well, that’s what she thought it was.
After moving to Loverly Cave, Zoe becomes her own person and her friends are overly involved in the pregnancy. Months after being there, Matteo returns from college with expectations from his mother to pick up mint. Unbeknownst to him, he’s set up to see Zoe. Zoe’s water breaks at that exact moment and the rollercoaster of love and emotion starts…buckle tf up. There are references to other popular books and lots of sexy banter.
While I enjoyed the book, I did notice many spelling errors. These errors did not hinder the reader’s ability to comprehend, but it was more of a nuisance. I want to thank Daisy Thorn and the Luna Literary Team for letting me be part of the ARC team.

♥︎ I found this story absolutely charming. Matteo, a notorious ladies' man, unexpectedly falls head over heels for Zoe after their one-night stand. Six months later, through a comical twist of fate orchestrated by Matteo’s meddling mother and her friends, Matteo and Zoe cross paths again right before Zoe goes into labor. Matteo initially believes he is the father of Zoe's baby, but when he discovers he's not, my heart breaks for him because he genuinely wants to be a part of their lives.
♡︎ The connection between Matteo and Zoe's newborn, Meli, is truly heartwarming. Matteo, similar to Jacob, the main character of Meet My Wife, is willing to go above and beyond for his girls, and it's endearing to read. His charm is undeniable, and he often brought a smile to my face. Zoe, however, remains wary of his sudden change of heart and questions whether Matteo can truly provide stability for her and her daughter. Her reservations are valid. Nevertheless, Matteo earns Zoe's respect and love by proving his dedication every step of the way.
♥︎ In summary, this book proved to be a great addition to the series. It had me hooked from beginning to end. If you enjoy small-town romances featuring the most endearing characters, this entire series is a must-read. Loverly Cave will find its way into your heart!
Tame The Beast by Daisy Thorn Book 4 in the Loverly Cave Series ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ 5/5 Stars
I have not read any of the other books in this series yet but I can't wait to go and read more! This book is adorable and so funny! It is such a fun, small coastal town, story of a playboy and a single mom falling in love. I laughed so hard when reading this book and had a smile on my face throughout the entire story. It is the most adorable romance! It also is such a quick, addictive, and easy read. I never wanted to put it down once I started reading it because the story was too good! Matteo makes my heart so happy with the way he treats both Mellie and Zoe! He is such an adorable Dad to Mellie, I loved reading it. I also love all the side characters and different group chats in this book! It added so much to the storyline. The eccentric moms, old ladies, and Zoe's dad were all such fun personalities to have as side characters in the book. I just had so much fun reading this book! I can't say enough good things about the banter, characters, and setting, everything was so cute and so much fun! I am so excited to go back and read the first three books to see if they are all like this one! Thank you so much to @lunaliterary.management and @daisythornauthor for allowing me to be an arc reader for this book!
This is my first read by the author, and I can honestly say, it won’t be my last. This is book 4 in the Loverly Cave Series, but it can be read as a standalone.
Zoe leaves the city and her job as a scientist after her cheating ex leaves her not only heartbroken and hurt, but pregnant. She follows her best friend (who is MFC in a previous book) to Loverly Cave Town, where she meets college man and bar tender, Matteo.
This book is quite funny, and there were times where I really laughed out loud. Matteo is honestly something else and I loved his character. Whilst he is younger than Zoe, I found him extremely mature and just adorable. The man has some kinks though (including a lactation one) and I was hot under the collar a few times. I loved how much he adored Zoe and stepped up to be a father- he took the role seriously and it was cute.
I really felt for Zoe. She was stitched up by her previous partner but she was surrounded by love and she fought Matteo off but love wins 😉
The other characters were absolutely delightful, including The Fantastic Four and their group chat had me proper smiling. I loved them.
I will now need to go back and read book 1 as I’m intrigued to meet the other characters properly.
Zoe & Matteo Oh these two are so good. I absolutely loved this book so much. Zoe has this tough outer shell due to her past (For dang good reason if you ask me) she doesn't want to open her self up to someone new and wants to focus on herself and her baby. Her ability to finally be open and vulnerably is so real and good to see. I adore that she wants what's best for her daughter no matter what it takes to make it happen. Matteo my dude! Absolutely a golden retriever and the best freaking book boyfriend ever! He knows the moment he see's Zoe that she is his end game. The way he steps up when he Zoe needs him and he never lets her push him away. The fact he accepts her daughter has his own (Swoon) and steps up to be the best dad and man for both of them is so good to see. He shows Zoe that he loves her for who she is and that she is good enough and deserve the world. These two are totally soul mates.
5/5 recommend this book. Yooo! Daisy out her doing it with her Rom-coms. I haven't stop laughing while reading this series. Its the prefect balance between goofy and little bit angsty. She blends them so well and lets you feel like no matter what sometimes you need the goofy guy to bring you outta your guarded shell.
This was my first first book by Daisy Thorn and I was fortunate enough to receive an ARC.
Tame the Beast is the 4th book in an interconnected standalone series. I did not have the chance to read books 1–3 before getting to this one, but that did not matter as Thorn does a good job at providing enough context to help the readers out.
Zoe has a plan for everything, or at least she thought she did. Matteo, on the other hand, is not a planner; at least that is what he thought. A positive pregnancy test and a one-night stand change all of that.
I really loved Matteo, I loved his carefree nature and his persistence in going after what he wanted. I really enjoyed being able to watch him grow as someone who went from vowing to never fall in love to falling in love and fighting for a relationship He knew what was best for him. I loved that he stepped up to be a dad, even knowing the child he was in love with was not his. I loved this man.
For me, Zoe was a good character. I loved that she was head strong, but I also felt that it was this stubbornness that got in her way. I love that she wants to be this independent woman, has decided that she can be a single mom, and is willing to make the sacrifices to make sure her child has everything. It took her a while to accept that she ( and her daughter) are deserving of the love that Matteo is proving( time and time again) to give them. That being said, she is a beautiful character, and to finally watch the walls fall is beautiful.
I loved the banter between the "boys". I really appreciate when the secondary characters have an active role in novels that do not focus on them, and I also love that we as readers get to see their development outside of their respective books.
I thought the character development was well done, as was how they interacted with each other and other characters.

Tame The Beast by Daisy Thorn was my first read by this author and of the Loverly Cave Series.
First off, I loved Matteo and Zoe. Secondly, I wish I would have read the first books in the series. I think it would have helped me with some of the tidbits in this book.
With that being said, I did enjoy this book. It was a fun book to read and introduced me to some kinks that I hadn't read about before, and I was pleased. I ain't mad about it, let's just say that.
I received this book as part of the ARC team for Daisy Thorn and I am grateful for the opportunity to read the book. I highly suggest you read it if you like some kink, smut, the golden retriever MMC, and the reverse age gap.
Things I didn't like:
-I was a bit confused about some of it. Like I said earlier, I probably need to read the other books in the series. -At the end, an antagonist character is introduced, and I guess I thought it was unnecessary.
Overall I would give this a 4-4.5 on the rating scale.
Imagine finding out that the man you've been dating for a year is actually married and had cheated on his wife with you. To make matters worse, after breaking up with him, you discover you're pregnant with his child, and he wants nothing to do with you or the baby.
In contrast to my initial reaction of wanting to bury my head in the sand like an ostrich, the main female lead Zoe took a brave step by leaving her past behind. She packed her bags and moved to a small, quirky beach town with her boss. On her first day there, she had a fateful encounter with a charming and confident bartender at a local bar, leading to a memorable night together.
This book exceeded my expectations in every way possible. The writing is light and captivating, the main characters are both humorous and engaging, and the secondary characters add an extra layer of charm with their witty remarks. The comedic situations and inner dialogues of the characters were truly a delight to read.
Matteo stole the show for me in this story. Initially a carefree playboy, his encounter with Zoe turns his world upside down. His struggle with newfound feelings and unexpected responsibilities provided many laugh-out-loud moments through his amusing inner thoughts. His determination to support Zoe and her child will undoubtedly make readers swoon. Despite Zoe's reluctance to trust another man, Matteo's sincerity and commitment gradually win her over, resulting in a heartwarming single-parent romance.
To avoid spoiling the surprises, I encourage you to immerse yourself in this enchanting tale and witness Zoe and Matteo's love story unfold firsthand.
