A man I once hated, a nobleman, and a dear friend all want to be with me, as if one man wasn’t enough!
My life has been turned upside down. Kelric, my old flame turned most hated rival is now back in my life and we have so much lost time to make up for. Yet I’ve also gotten quite serious with Leo, the nobleman I’m training in combat. It can’t last between us with him being a noble, but I intend to make the most of the time we have.
Leo also found me more students and I now have a cohort of young women who want to learn to protect themselves. I love working with the Sword Skirts (their name not mine) and I’ll never be able to thank Leo enough for bringing them into my life.
Oh, and Dazar, who I’ve known almost my entire life, has confessed his love for me. I’m still getting used to that idea, but when he sweeps me up in his magical aura and touches me like no other man can it’s hard to say no.
And with attacks on the prince and his mistress thrown into the mix, I’m all turned around. I don’t know what to do, but for the moment I have three men who love me and I’ll take that for as long as I can. Who knows, maybe I won’t have to choose between them?
Sword Skirt is the second fantasy romance book in the Lady Blade Series. This romantasy book is set in a world of feuding kingdoms, magical auras, and larger than life heroes.
I thought the story was interesting, if a bit slow. It only really has action at the beginning and the end, the majority is Tisera going about her life, training and protecting. I didn’t expect that ending, the betrayal actually hurt to read but it made sense because Tisera, is a hardened woman, a warrior but she seemed to just melt when she was with Veora which wasn’t like her character. I thought it was weird in the first book where she opened up to her, about the guys. It just didn’t sound like her character but I didn’t think about it again because Tisera thought of her as somewhat a friend until the end. Something so simple but what a twist I didn’t see coming. Off to read the next one!
I gave this three stars instead of two because of the plot twist at the end. But as much as I was enjoying the fun and flirty romance(s) in the first book, this one went past that fun line for me. There are more descriptions of "spraying" and ejaculating than anyone needs in their lives and it goes downhill from there. It's a real bummer because many of the elements of this book could make it a great story but instead it feels cheap a little gross.
