She emerges from the shadows like a ghost—filthy, starving, and reckless enough to risk her life for mine. I should have walked away. Instead, I take her home. The plan was patch her up, feed her, and send her back to whatever darkness she came from.
But beneath the dirt and bruises, I find something unexpected. Pale gold hair. Eyes like stolen sky. A fragility that calls to something raw and possessive inside me.
Wren is a bird with broken wings, a girl who’s known only hunger and fear. But she doesn’t have to run anymore. Not from the cold. Not from her past. Not from the monsters who still hunt her.
She’s mine now. And I will raze the world before I let anyone take her from me.This audiobook is narrated using computer-generated voice technology. In a different timeline, I would probably enjoy this a whole lot more than I did. But since I was going through something personally right then, it didn't exactly hit me in the feels. I understood the appeal, wanting to be rescued by someone powerful, wanting to be ridden off all of your problems in a blink of an eye. Man, I do understand the escapism of this book. The only problem here is me, guys.
This story almost felt like reading three different ones in a single book. The first 2 chapters are very dark, gritty and quite frankly depressing. Not the way I'd expect a romance novel to start. Then the next 16 chapters are the typical romance, with a lot of daddy kink thrown in for good fun. There's a suspense to the story about trying to catch the baddies from the first two chapters, and the final show down at the end comes with some interesting twists. Then you get to the final chapter and the two epilogues and it's so full of waxing poetry about love and finding the perfect mate and having the perfect child, that it's almost too much and I almost finished reading before the book was done, as it was just too mushy for me. And I love a good mushy story, at times. I just felt that it was too over the top for the grittier nature of the rest of the book, that it didn't sit right in this context. I almost dropped my rating because of the ending, but then I remembered how much I enjoyed 95 percent of the book and therefore kept my original rating.

Ok, I had to write a review even though my english isn’t the best.
Gabriel was Wren’s angel when she needed the most. I love how the entire book is about him taking care of her the way she needs. He never once abandoned/ regretted her/ put other above her. She was his responsibility the moment he looked into her eyes.
The way he does whatever he can to show her how life can be good by his side is *chef kiss*
And the best: no ow drama!!!! Or even mention. No space in his brain for this shit.
and the best’s best: the daddy kink, the discipline, the care, the breeding kink AND pregnancy… it’s like this author knew all my favorite tropes and put them all together in this book. Thank you!
Wren Roberts is all alone. Her father died when she was six. Her mother hooked up and married Gregory when she was ten. Gregory is abusive and into drugs. He got Wren’s mother hooked on drugs. Wren is in her last semester of community college and stays at the library as late as she can. One day, she heads home and finds Gregory and his buddy Jerry at the house. They tell her that they are selling her to a man. She manages to escape with her backpack and is now on the run alone in the city.
Gabriel Burns owns Burns SafeGuard, a security company he started with his best friend Ed. They are driving through town on a rainy night. Gabe sees two figures in an alley. A bigger man looks like he is trying to take advantage of a small child. Gabe makes Ed stop the car and he races to the alley to help. It turns out it is a small woman. When the attacker gets up and tries to stab Gabe, Wren jumps in front of Gabe and gets stabbed in the shoulder. Gabe and Ed take Wren back to the mansion that Gabe owns. It houses his business, a medical staff and he has apartments for his employees and a penthouse for him.
This was definitely an action filled story. I was not sure that Gabe could earn Wren’s trust completely since she was so hurt by others that were supposed to protect her. I was rooting for them to be a couple.

"The pain is duller now, a background noise instead of a scream"
From heartbreak, terror, fear and danger to safety, comfort and love....can it be possible? Gabe knows it is possible, knows Wren is his to protect, to heal, to love and to claim, completely.... forever. He just has to prove it to her, every day....forever. I love that he doesn't hesitate, but nor does he rush or pressure her. Whilst he is downright dirty, possessive and demanding, he is also endlessly sweet, thoughtful and loving. I read this on Kindle Unlimited.
The story resonated deeply with me. I was deeply moved by the beautiful transformation of the female main character as she blossomed into a strong and resilient woman, thanks to the guidance and support of the male main character. His unwavering presence as her protector, supporter, and lover was truly heartwarming. The depiction of their happily ever after exuded contentment and pure joy, leaving a lasting impression on me.

The story starts out rough, Wren has had a hard life and her garbage human step dad tries to traffic her. She escapes and is nearly assaulted when Gabe and his buddy intervene. He takes her home and gives her a place to get back on her feet. They fall for one another.
I hate the whole virgin FMC thing it rarely lends to the story and sadly that was the case here as well. It's there solely so he can "deflower" her. That said I did find it interesting and refreshing that Gabe was celibate for a long time prior to his relationship with Wren.
- Age gap, H 38, h 21 - Ex navy Seal - Homeless heroine - V h, H celibate 15 years - Daddy kink - Billionaire - Touch her and die
This was a super cute book, but felt kind of dragged out some places, but really enjoyed it! I liked the romance and the suspension during the book. And loved the security men who worked with the H!
Safety: - H only been with his ex gf when he was 17, been celibate 15 years because he always wanted more, and he only felt that with the h - h is a virgin, never done anything - No owd/no omd

Gabriel finds Wren in a terrible state, and it ignites his protective instincts, especially when her past catches up to her. This story had a blend of excitement and romance as well as some danger that was interesting. It was enjoyable and kink was an added factor that evolved each of these characters.

A complex plot features a young woman on the run and an older wealthy businessman who find each other. Drama, intrigue, a slow burn romance and some elements of a daddy/little relationship fill the pages of the book. Great read!.

It was good that Gabriel sees beyond first appearances to the good in Wren and is determined to take care of her. Together they build a loving relationship that suits them.
Great read! This was well written and with very likeable main characters. I really liked the plot, it's nice to have an actual story and not just pages of love scenes. The twist towards the end, I did not see coming and thought it added to the story.

Great read. Not what I was expecting. I was pleasantly surprised. Fell in love with these characters. Wren was in survival mode when she ran from her stepfather. Living on the streets she was battling for her life when Gabriel saved her after a brutal attack. Gabriel was protective of her from that night forward.

Gabriel and Wrens story was very close to what I personally know growing up so reading their story was as a bit more personal and I enjoyed it very much!!!!! The drama and the sexy times were absolutely amazing and very well written and very well thought out and spaced out properly!!!! Absolutely loved Little Bird!!!!!
It was a quick read but it really went off the rails halfway through. Time jump after time jump almost every ch. They were married halfway through the story (right after he proposed) and pregnancy immediately after that. It didn’t feel like a smooth and organized read tbh. I enjoyed the first half more but even there it felt pretty one dimension ngl lol.
WOW! Soo soo good and soo soo H.O.T I love Gabriel and Wren, they just belong together! Such a wonderful and beautiful healing love story! I absolutly loved it! Can't wait for Ed's story! 😍❤️🔥❤️🔥🥰
The authors have given us an older man/younger woman story that pulls us into the lives of Gabe and Wren. The story keeps us turning the pages with danger, suspense, connection, DD/lg kink and steam.

Wren and Gabe have a somewhat whirlwind of a romance. I liked them together and how he would protect Wren. There are a lot of sensitive topics so read some of the warnings. I liked the story and how it unfolded.

Wren & Gabriel 3.5 stars There was a lot going on including lots of tropes/k!nks with varying tones from a gritty, bleak opening, a slow build into romance, then a frantic action section & lastly an OTT HEA.
I've read just about all of Violet's books, and enjoyed them all. This book was no different, it was so good. I loved Gabriel & Wren, he was just what Wren needed.
