This is a cute little cocktail recipe book. The perfect gift for the dual romantasy reader / cocktail lover, but probably no one in between. Ya gotta be both. It includes 60 recipes inspired by a whopping 56 romantasy books, so you better get reading! I like that it incorporates little snippets/inside jokes from each book, for each recipe. It feels like you share a little secret with each page. That being said, this book will be much more fun if you’ve read all/most of the books mentioned. Otherwise, if you’ve only read a handful (like me) you won’t understand most of the jokes, and you’ll be missing out. The pictures inside are cute but simple; they almost look like coloring book pages. I haven’t tried any of the recipes yet; some sound delicious, others sound repulsive. Regardless, this will be a cute little addition to my bookshelf.
Lacking for originals cocktails, and the books the cocktails were named after were oftentimes sequels of books they’d already covered. It would be a cute gift for a Romantic Fantasy genre lover, but not much more. The cover is beautiful.
I got a copy of this for free from an event. The art is super cute but these are all just existing cocktails renamed with no changes at all to the standard recipes. Like "Girl, Goddess, Gibson" is literally just a Gibson and "You Hit Me Like A Hurricane" is just standard hurricane with no unique twists whatsoever. I am really disappointed and flummoxed at all the good reviews. There was zero effort put into these drinks.
This cocktail book is absolutely adorable and a must have for book clubs that like to hang out, talk, and have a little drink! There’s something for everyone and includes recipes for all your favorite romantasy novels. I think it would be adorable to match up your cocktail to that book club’s current read!
I found this at a small book & wine store and, clearly, had to immediately purchase it. A lot of the cocktails were the basics instead of something creative (and a couple of the recipes seemed a bit…off), however the fact each had a specific book paring with an inside joke about the name made that forgivable. Also loved the book checklist provided at the end!
This is probably one of the coolest books I’ve ever won/read! It’s a collection of recipe and pictures of cocktail recipes. Each one is named and inspired by a trending Romantasy novel!!! SO FREAKING AWESOME!
This is such a cute cocktail book. I won it in a GoodReads Giveaway and has the perfect balance of Romantasy and alcohol! Each recipe has a blurb that ties it back to a book. Not only do I now have cocktail recipes to enjoy while reading, but it’s helped me expand my Romntasy TBR list!
Grabbed this from B&N for a friend. I couldn't help but flip through the pages and it's adorable! The names were cracking me up. I think this is a great book for anyone into Romantasy.
A fun little addition to our bar. The recipes are mostly classic cocktails that have been renamed and given a backstory inspired by one Romantasy or another.
