Upon arriving in Baym, Lyle’s party attempts to promptly complete their registration at the city’s Guild, only to find themselves treated no better than rookies. As it turns out, all the experience they had gained traveling around through foreign lands is moot—they’ll have to prove themselves all over again before they’re allowed to take proper requests, let alone explore a dungeon. Left with nothing else to do, they devote themselves to doing menial labor to steadily gain the mysterious Guild receptionist’s trust.
However, this task is complicated by a rookie adventurer named Erhart who constantly picks fights with their party. Driven by jealousy, Erhart and his party angrily refuse the tasks offered to them by the Guild receptionist and demand more substantial work instead. They harass the receptionist until she finally agrees to allow their party to participate in a large-scale dungeon raid. But is this a stroke of luck or an omen of disaster...?
This is pretty bad. I can understand that the author want to take his time to develop characters and plot more than web novel version, but two book in a row with barely any plot and zero climax!? This is ridiculous, compare to this, the web novel while the pacing a little bit fast still better imo. More importantly, what the deal with adding Sophia in the light novel though? This character has no contribute for the story whatsoever, i see no reason to add another idiot character. Isn't Aria already enough? Anyway this book was pretty bad, at least in the last book we still get some information of the Fifth that not included in the web novel which is a change i really like because I'm a big fan of the Fifth. But in this book the plot dragging too long and we have to wait until the last few pages to see the plot finally moved. I hope the next book can get me out off this slog. I personally really like book 10 in the web novel because we get to see one of the best moments of mrLyle lol.
