Get ready for King and Aurora’s long awaited, action-packed story!

His responsibility is to his pack, his people—the territory of New Orleans.

When the world devolved into chaos and fire, Alpha wolf King kept his territory from collapsing. Now, every day it seems there’s a new challenge—rogue witches, treacherous vampires, evil dragons. But his biggest threat is Aurora. Unique, magical, a female who sees him, the male, and not simply the Alpha in charge. But she’s thrown up so many walls that he’s afraid he’ll never be able to break through to the woman behind them. When the most dangerous threat they’ve ever faced ravages the city he’ll need her at his side—to defeat it, and then claim the woman who already owns him, body and soul.

But she makes him want more.

After being held captive for a year, Aurora has embraced her freedom. For the first time in her life she’s living away from her older sister in a new territory. A new world. She’s made friends and is helping New Orleans get back on its feet. Giving to others is helping her combat her PTSD, but she’s far from the woman she used to be. Even so, she can’t fight her ever present and growing attraction to King. Except she’s afraid she’s broken, that she’ll never be able to have a normal relationship again—that she can’t handle being an Alpha’s mate. When an evil linked to his past threatens to tear them apart and destroy the city, she must set her fears aside and find the courage to follow her heart—and the wolf who’s already won it.

Ancient Vendetta by Katie Reus
Ancients Rising series #4. Post apocalyptic paranormal shifter romance. Best read as park of the series.
King is the alpha of the New Orleans territory after the dragons exposed paranormal existence and scorched the earth. He manages construction rebuilding, shifters, vampires and humans as well as his own pack, plus reestablishing farming communities for food distribution. He used witches to bring the area above sea level and created a school system that has a practical curriculum. If he can just shift Aurora from friend to mate, he would be content.
An ancient evil threatens King and his territory.

Intense and gripping. Slow burn sexy for two couples plus a dozen different character stories from prior books and a hint of who may be pivotal in the future.
King and Aurora are both strong leaders. That they let down their guard a bit with each other, makes their relationship that much richer.
This series has been engulfing and absorbing. Plus dragon shifters!

1.5 - 2 stars!

I don't know how else to say this without sounding harsh but in my opinion this was a hot mess of too many voices and definitely more plot vomit than romance.

I thought this was King and Aurora's story but their relationship was just sprinkled in here and there and the slow burn was infuriating especially when the burn comes...it's lukewarm at best. Was expecting a lot more from this story for how long I've waited for it. Perhaps this author's writing style and story telling just doesn't work for me anymore.

WooHoo! I am so excited to finally have King and Aurora’s story!!!

I was curious how Aurora’s character was going to develop throughout the story. She had a past that had left her feeling broken and extremely hesitant to take a step with King. However, she did an amazing job of evolving as the pack turned to her for help in such a natural way. In my eyes, that helped to bring healing and I was thrilled to watch her stand up and take a roll of leadership.

Of course, King was all alpha, all the time. But he never held it over anyone and he was so kind and patient as well as sensitive to any issues that might arise. Especially where Aurora was concerned. He held off due to this innate understanding of the struggles she faced and I loved him all the more for it.

This was actually a slow burn and yet I didn’t even realize it due to the story that was going on around them. The fact that they each give plenty of insight into their feelings along the way elevated the emotional level as well as the steam. There was no doubt this couple had some intense chemistry between them and when they finally came together my kindle was sizzling.

I absolutely LOVED this book which increased my love for the series. It’s a wild, untamed new world with all manner of paranormals. Meeting new characters and revisiting previous ones has been just as wonderful as watching King and Aurora find their future together. Overall, an awesome read, easy to follow along, best if read within the series, and one I hope never ends.

I've been looking forward to King and Aurora's story for awhile now. I was surprised with the slow burn for this couple in this book since we have basically been getting the slow burn for several books, but I honestly can't complain about it. It just seemed to fit these two, especially with Aurora's past trauma. I'm also excited to say that we get to learn what makes King so powerful. I loved where his story went and the new characters we got introduced too. I really adore this supernatural world that Katie Reus has created here. On top of the new characters, I just love it when we get the same side characters as well. I've come to love and adore all of them and I'll never get tired of any of them. The storyline is exciting like always, and these always make for a fast read because I just don't want to put them down. I'm looking forward to so many more books for the series.

I’ve been waiting for King and Aurora’s book and it didn’t disappoint.

After being kidnapped and losing a year of her life Aurora isn’t sure she’ll ever be ready for love. But she finds herself attracted to King. Problem is King’s an alpha and she sees herself as broken. How could she ever be his mate?

King wants Aurora but doesn’t want to push. He doesn’t know what he’ll do if she rejects him. But doesn’t know how long he can hold off as his wolf is riding him to mate.

A monster from his past, one he thought was gone forever is back. And it wants revenge. Everything King has built, everyone he cares about is threatened. Along with his life.

King and Aurora have been dancing around their attraction for a while now and after the last book I figured they would end up together at some point. King has been giving Aurora time to adjust to being back and getting acclimated again after she had been kidnapped and held hostage for a year by a crazy dragon shifter. She's not sure she's ready for a relationship but the attraction she feels towards King is real and she's pretty sure he feels something for her too but neither of them are willing to make the first move.

King is a wolf shifter and Aurora is a phoenix shifter but King is the alpha of the territory she lives in. She helps him out when he needs it and has a lot of friends who she's close with. They are living in a broken world right now because some shifters went nuts and destroyed a lot that had been built and now shifters are in charge and trying to keep things safe for everyone including the humans.

When someone from King's past that he thought was dead makes an appearance, he has to join forces with a lot of different species but he has a lot of friends. What he wasn't expecting is for the Fae to come and ask for his help which opens up all kinds of secrets that he'll have to deal with.

There's a big battle, secrets are revealed, some truths come to light and we see what a deep love can overcome. This was truly a great addition to this series.

Disclosure: I was given an e-ARC of this book via NetGalley but all thoughts and opinions are my own.

I LOVE King and I LOVE Aurora, so was super excited to read their story. Sadly, while decent, this story just didn’t hold that fire-hot spark that ignites the chemistry I was expecting. So… a bit disappointed.

Ancient Vendetta is book 4 in the Ancients Rising series and finally it's time for King and Aurora. I have been patiently waiting for their story and I was not disappointed. Aurora is Star's sister who spent a year in captivity by a madman who was taking her blood since she's a Phoenix. King is the alpha wolf and is in charge of New Orleans and from the moment he met Aurora he knew she was his mate but due to her captivity he worries she's not ready. I loved how their friendship has grown since their initial meeting and how natural the romantic relationship felt between the two. I loved the addition of the Fae and King's connection to them. As with the previous books in this series there are so many wonderful characters that live in King's territory. There was also a small romantic side story with Mikael's brother Cas. Overall, this was another enjoyable addition to this series.

Ancient Vendetta is the fourth book in the Ancients Rising series, and the stakes keep getting higher and higher. The story follows Aurora and King, and I was so excited to read their story! I loved them in the previous books, and I couldn’t wait for their slow-building friendship to turn into something more. It didn’t disappoint. Their story is romantic, suspenseful, dangerous, and lovely.

Enemies new and old threaten Aurora and King, and there are so many heart-pounding moments in the story. Reus continues to develop and expand the post-apocalyptical world, and it’s so intriguing. I love this world where shifters, humans, witches, vampires, and more all coexist. And there are pet dragons!! I love the pet dragons! They are so fun and sweet, and they have the best personalities. It’s so cool to see them grow and mature as the series progresses. I also really like the vision King has for the future of New Orleans.

King is the Alpha of New Orleans, and he is one of my favorite characters in the series. The story delves into King’s past, which is totally not what I expected! This was such an intriguing and, at times, heartbreaking part of the story. and it explained so much about his character. I love King’s strength and determination, as well as his deep understanding of others. He’s sharp and fair, and he has earned the respect of all who live in his territory. King wants to make his territory a better place for everyone, and he will literally give his life to ensure the safety of his people. Plus, the way he feels about Aurora is positively swoon-worthy!!

Aurora is such a fantastic heroine. Caring and kind, Aurora is well-liked by everyone. She has such a wonderful personality and is admired for her willingness to listen and learn, her acceptance of all, her eagerness to help, and her good intentions. She and King have worked so hard to rebuild New Orleans, and I think people have a lot of respect for both of them because of this. However, Aurora has been through a lot and doesn’t realize her own strength. After being held captive for a year, she suffers from PTSD, and she doesn’t know if she’ll ever be ready for love and a relationship. She struggles to forgive herself, but she never gives up hope, especially as her feelings for King come further and further to the surface.

King has been in love with Aurora for a while, but he knows she’s not ready, and he doesn’t push her. I love that King understands Aurora’s needs and never pressures her for more than she’s willing to give. You can tell he really cares about her, and he respects her. This is a woman he wants in his life for the rest of his life, and he never treats her as anything less than an equal deserving of respect and love. And they fit together so well and complement each other perfectly. I think she’s is going to be a great mate for an Alpha like King, and she’s already shown what a great leader she is. Aurora and King have such a swoon-worthy, slow-building friends-to-lovers romance, and is it (literally and figuratively) magical! Oh my word, their chemistry!

There are several other romances in the story that I totally loved, as well as hints of a few other possible love stories that I’m hoping to see in future books in the series. Reus creates such compelling characters and pairs, and I’m always eager to learn more about them and this new world they’re creating. I also really love the found families in the book. The story includes many amazing friendships and relationships, and there are a few new characters introduced, all of whom are connected to King and Aurora, that I’m super curious about.

This is a great addition to the series. It is suspenseful, layered, and romantic, and there are some fun and funny parts too. I would definitely recommend it to readers of paranormal romance, and I’m so thankful to NetGalley and the author for providing me a copy of the book in exchange for my honest review.

After waiting for a while to see the relationship between king and Aurora develop, it was a major letdown.
Adding, too many side characters, too many side stories, I lost interest quick. Even their return at the end after being burned by the Phoenix regeneration thing seemed like a non event, since it was resolved so quickly

Welcome back to post-apocalyptic New Orleans. Ancient dragons came and laid waste to humanity and finally exposed the supernatural world to the humans. King, a half-wolf shifter, is Alpha of the New Orleans pack and his vision has united the other supernaturals behind him. Slowly he is rebuilding a better, more ecologically sound city, in harmony with nature, and has raised the land to reduce the risk of flooding.

Aurora is one of the rarest shifters, a phoenix whose blood has regenerative properties. Having recently escaped from a crazed man who kept her captive for her blood for over a year she is suffering PTSD and fears that she will never trust another male enough to be intimate.

King knows Aurora is his mate, but as the Alpha he has to wait for her to come to him, meanwhile an ancient foe has arisen and wants to kill King. With a foe with powers beyond anything King has seen before can he and his allies defeat the vampire and save New Orleans?

Years ago I gave up on most PNR because it was all so same-same (J.R. Ward's 'mine, mine mine' epitomised the predictability of the genre) but there are a few authors that made it through the great PNR cull and Katie Reus is one. And I honestly don't know why, she throws every PNR cliche in the book into her novels and I just nod and smile and say 'yes, yes, yes very good, very good' Maybe it's the fight scenes? Or the epic list of characters? Who knows, I just lurve them and I'm never disappointed.

I received a free copy of this book from the publisher via NetGalley in return for an honest review.

Bumped for release.

I have been waiting for King and Aurora’s book from book 1 and I loved every second of it.

King and Aurora’s book has been the epitome of a slow burn. They have been building up their romance on the sidelines since Ancient Protector and I am just so happy their story is finally here.

Aurora has been slowly coming back into her own since her kidnapping and she is finally in a place where she can claim her strength (ya know, when matched against King's alpha-ness). She's had a lot to deal with and well she still is, but King and his wolf are here to tell her she is has always had the ability to be his other half. Gah, I won't ruin the story but, I was here for it. I also love the little twist in King's background that came to light. LOVE IT!

As always, I was highly entertained by the mystery aspect and with the extra tie-in with King and his background. It was wonderful to see Aurora into a strong leadership role and for her to finally shake free from her trauma and step back into life.

Cannot wait for more in the series!

The couple is wonderful together as individually, and I understand Aurora needed time after the ordeal she went through before, but I thought we don't have enough scenes showing them learning to know each other as a couple (and I don't talk about sex scenes). It seems they are hardly ever alone together.
Next to that we see a cute secondary story about the brother of the previous volume's hero with a human woman. We see the interaction between the heads of the diverse supernatural beings and how they work together to improve the territory for everyone. And there's a huge revelation about King's past.
As for the plot with the villain, I thought it was well done and the final battle was once again gripping.

I love this series and I've been waiting for Aurora and King's story. This book has romance, suspense, adventure - I can't get enough of the New Orleans shifter community - Katie Reus is a master at world-building. Her characters are interesting, vivid and with each book I get more invested in the underlying story - I can't wait to find out what happens next!

***ARC Provided by NetGalley***

I was luckily approved for an ARC of Katie’s 4th book in her Ancient’s Rising Series. I have been waiting for King and Aurora’s story pretty much since book one, after she was rescued from her imprisonment, so I was SO pumped when I got the note telling me I was going to get my hands on this early.

These two, gosh they have had a lot thrown at them. And Katie does a really great job showcasing the realities of the stress and pressure King is under as The Alpha of New Orleans. She also touches on how Aurora is slowly working through her own PTSD from being imprisoned, and how the friendship between the two (although it is heating up to more) has remained solid.

Things are slowly rebuilding, and the threats are seemingly never ending. We bounce between a few POVs: Lucius (the baddie), Aurora, King, as well as Casimir (from book 3) and Jo, which kept the story moving quickly, but left me selfishly wanting ALL the page time with our two mains. Fans of earlier books will love the little updates and cameo’s on our past hero’s and their mates.

Lots of reveals and insights on King’s backstory, which I’m assuming has to play into future books, and it was really REALLY fascinating to see the Fae realm. Only wish we got to spend more time there, not in peril.

Overall, it’s a great addition to this series and fans of Aurora and King will not be disappointed in how these two (against literally ALL THE ODDS) finally find their way to each other.

I have to admit I was surprised by how much I really enjoyed Ancient Vendetta.
The story, characters, the setting were perfect. Even with this being the first in the series I personally have read I couldn't put it down. The author keep readers updated on past stories in the series while keeping the story moving quickly.
Ancient Vendetta is a perfect romance between to friends, a very dark and evil character and world everyone is trying to keep from falling apart with one shift in the supernatural and human worlds.

But she’s far from the woman she used to be.

Author note: Though part of a series, this book may be read as a stand-alone, complete with HEA.

Will her fears keep her from opening her heart to love …

From the first book in this series the hints about Aurora and King kept me on edge, so once the release date was announced I marked it on my book to read calendar, there was no way I would let it pass.
And while their romance had three books to move forward, Aurora is the one to still hold back, struggling from her year of emprisonnement and the scars it has imprinted in her soul. Yet unconsciously she feels more and more pressing pull.
King was the enigma in this series, a rather young alpha, with secrets and a dark past. But luckily the author by bringing him under the limelight finally shed light on who is truly King. And like Aurora, he survived traumatic events, rose up stronger and more determined to do the right thing. He is a protector in the soul, a being who shields, defends and passes others’ needs before his own.

I just loved this story, it is at the image of their relationship, on the length a slow burn romance. As while Aurora is unsure to be ready for a connection beyond friendship, King does no push forward, he gives her the lead, letting her set the pace.
This story is not a straight line even if the background plot is common to everyone, we follow the blooming of Aurora and King’s love but of other couples too, with the introduction of new characters and other realms.
An intense and action packed gratifying and pleasurable read.

Katie Reus’ Ancient Vendetta, Ancients Rising #4, focuses on King, Alpha Wolf of the New Orleans territory, and Aurora, Phoenix, King’s best friend and right-hand, as they continue rebuilding his territory, keeping it strong, and facing threats/challenges—evil dragons, treacherous vampires, and rogue witches. I’ve been hoping and waiting for King’s and Aurora’s book since their first meeting in book 1. Reus’ pacing and active writing style keep Ancient Vendetta moving at a steady pace from beginning to end. I love Reus worldbuilding, character development and interactions, action/suspense, description, and use of paranormal elements, storylines, and characters. Best of all her romantic relationships are intense, both emotionally and sexually.

Aurora’s still healing from PTSD from her year-long captivity, but she’s coming into her own, growing stronger each day. But she still suffers nightmares and emotional/mental aftereffects from her captivity and secrets she’s keeping about it. Her friendship with King has deepened over time, becoming crucial, her feelings for him evolving too. Aurora’s drawn to King, wanting more than friendship. However, because of her captivity, she fears never being able to have a normal relationship and that if King knew all the details of her captivity it would change his perception of her and his feelings for her. King sensed Aurora was his mate almost from their first meeting. But not wanting to push her, he became the friend she needed him to be. However, both he and his wolf are driven by the need to mate with her. Likewise, he is increasingly under pressure from friends and allies to find a mate to cement his power as Alpha of his territory. He admires Aurora’s courage, strength, generosity, unique spirit, and magical abilities, and how she connects with his pack and the other packs/covens within his territory, gaining their respect and loyalty. While he’s grateful for her friendship and support of him as Alpha, he’s intimidated by how Aurora alone sees him as more than an Alpha—she sees him as a male. But he fears that because of her protective walls he may only ever be her friend when she was his everything.

While Ancient Vendetta is suspenseful, with well-plotted, descriptive action scenes, it focuses more on developing romantic relationships among secondary characters and conflict among different packs and covens within the territory. With all the talking and Reus setting up future potential relationships and conflicts and there were not nearly enough action scenes and interaction with the villain. Despite Ancient Vendetta being their novel, I almost feel like King and Aurora barely spend any time together alone, giving us a chance to see them interacting, their chemistry, and how their relationship evolves. The time that they spend together is mostly as friends/partners, taking care of pack business, protecting the territory, etc. In those moments, their connection and chemistry are clear but it’s not romantic. But the few intimate moments they share hint at the potential for more, displaying their affection, desire, and longing for more. I feel like the novel was missing huge chunks of these moments in the evolution of their relationship and partnership from friends to lovers. We hear their thoughts and know how they feel about each other, and we hear how everyone else views their relationship and what it should be, but we barely see the evolution play out throughout the novel for ourselves. If this were my first read in the series, I might not find the foundation for their connection as strong or believable. There are also moments I thought I might have missed a book with more of King’s backstory or forgotten it. We learn some significant information about him in such a brief time like it’s no big deal, but it kind of is, especially since the villain is connected to his past. Similarly, I love the evolution of Aurora’s character, but it would have been cool to see more of it in real-time.

My high expectations got me again, I think!

Still, Ancient Vendetta is a thrilling, steamy, suspenseful addition to the Ancient’s Rising series with interesting surprises for King and Aurora fans. I just wish it centered around and had more on-page development/evolution of King’s and Aurora’s characters and their relationship from friends to lovers.

4.5 stars- ANCIENT VENDETTA is the fourth instalment in Katie Reus’ contemporary, adult ANCIENTS RISING paranormal/fantasy romance series. This is New Orleans’ Alpha wolf shifter King, and phoenix aurora’s story line. ANCIENT VENDETTA can be read as a stand alone without any difficulty but I recommend reading the series in order for back story and cohesion as there is a continuing theme throughout.

SOME BACKGROUND: Months earlier, several dragons rose from their sleep, and in the aftermath destroyed much of the city of New Orleans, Louisiana, in an apocalyptic showdown known as The Fall, but in doing so revealed the existence of the supernatural world to humankind. Ancients Rising focuses on the recovery of the city, and the group of supernaturals and dragons who have come to call New Orleans their home.

Told from several third person perspectives including King and Aurora, following several paths, ANCIENT VENDETTA focuses on the building relationship and romance between New Orleans’ Alpha King and phoenix Aurora. An ancient enemy, long thought dead and buried, has arisen and King finds himself desperate to the claim the woman he loves but as the number of dead and dying human and supernatural creatures continues to grow, King finds himself not only reliving the horrors of the past, but facing a future without the woman he loves. Enter Aurora, a phoenix of immense powers but a woman who is willing to sacrifice herself for our story line hero. What ensues is the building friends to lovers relationship between Aurora and King, and the potential fall-out as King’s past returns to destroy them all.

Meanwhile, the Fae have come to New Orleans in an effort to form an alliance with King and his Pack but all is not well in the human realm. When an old enemy sets his sights on our story line hero, he will use any means necessary including the Fae, whose connections to King are about to be revealed.

The relationship between Aurora and King is a friends to lovers, immediate attraction between the New Orleans’ Alpha and the phoenix he loves but King has bided his time, time he no longer has in the face of an ancient vendetta. The $ex scenes are limited but passionate and seductive.

There is a large ensemble cast of secondary and supporting characters including Aurora’s small pack of supernaturals-lion shifter Axel, tiger twins Harlow and Brielle, Lola,; half demon Cynara; Ingrid and Claudine;Rhys, Dallas; dragon healer Greer; dragon shifter Casimir, and his soon to be mate Jo, dragon shifter Prima; dragonlings Hunter and Willow: the Fae King Sorgin, and his daughter Cressida., and vampire Christian who may or may not have focused his attention on Axel. The requisite evil has many faces.

ANCIENT VENDETTA is a complex, detailed and exciting story that reveals more than one mating, several betrayals, and a connection and future alliance with the Fae of the Latore Kingdom. The fast paced premise is captivating and engaging; the slow building romance is impassioned; the characters are charismatic, powerful and determined.

It’s finally time for King and Aurora’s story. This is the story I have been waiting for in the series and watching them circle each other in the background, I’m glad they are finally at the center of the story.

King is the new Alpha of New Orleans, working to rebuild the city and protect all its inhabitants - magical and human. The balance between shifter, vampire, witches, and humans is a fragile one that King hopes to keep in order to protect everyone. He has a plan, but despite all his hard work, the people closest to him think he needs a mate to fully put his plans into action.

Aurora is a phoenix, one of the last in existence. She has settled into her life in New Orleans even if she still has trauma effects from her kidnapping. She is strong and leads her pack with patience and wisdom. Helping King with the things he needs gives her a bigger purpose and she is willing to help out in any ways he needs.

Her past has her hesitating if she can ever be ready for anything with King, but he is patient and doesn’t want to push her too fast. But his patience and her hesitation may keep them from having anything real when someone from King’s past, someone King thought was dead, comes back to threaten everything.

This was a slow burn, but it wasn’t slow moving at all because of everything going on around King and Aurora. There are very few “down” moments in this story between King’s work rebuilding the city and the newest threats that have popped up to endanger the population. There is a lot more going on here than just Aurora and King figuring out if they can be mated, and as always I have loved returning to this world. This is a world filled with so many beings and stories and I can’t wait for more as they rebuild.

Honestly, I really just took it for granted King, the alpha wolf shifter hero here, would get his own epic, action packed, riveting, heart melting romantic tale, folks. After all, I had already met him in previous books, and he had certainly swept me off my feet. To boot, his selfless, works 24/7, world weary supernatural body and immortal soul desperately needed that reward and had earned it, my fellow romance book loving friends.

Aurora, the heroine, had some pretty dang cool, very classy, supernatural abilities of her own. However, she was painted too much and too often as a demure, soft spoken, roaming, instrument of peace ambassador of good will on King's behalf than the supreme queen of female alpha-ness that King could have been matched with. Yeah, I know. She was meant to be the calm in the storm to his savage beast. I get that, but still can't shake the feeling this portrayal watered down her character quite a bit.

Speaking of which, too slow paced, and way too slow burn (as this main couple didn't spend nearly enough time together) had me tapping out due to boredom. Throwing in too many subcharacters and their drawn out side stories along with other subplots did not help. It caused me to lose focus on the main couple, hence my interest. This is a shame, especially considering it all started off with a vampire nemesis who was one scary, apparently wouldn't stay dead, kind of dude.

Here's to hoping others really enjoy this story. I continue to wish this author all the best. I'm still in her fan base. I appreciate her good guy leading men and devotion to their love interest heroines. I simply just can't overly gush, rant and rave about this one, folks.

Title: Ancient Vendetta, Series: Ancient Rising (Book 4), Author: Katie Reus, Pages: 303, stand-alone but part of a series, good guy alpha leader werewolf shifter hero, paranormal romance, stays romance safe, didn't finish, heroine has past captive abuse past, too slow paced story line, has eyes only for each other main couple.

Book 1 - Ancient Protector
Book 2 - Ancient Enemy
Book 3 - Ancient Enforcer
Book 4 - Ancient Vendetta

(I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced reader copy of this book. All thoughts and opinions are my own. I was not rewarded or compensated in any form for this review.)

It is finally time for King and Aurora's book!

King is the new alpha wolf of NOLA and he has his hands full with the melting pot of shifters and enemies. He is strong, loyal, fair, protective, and is preparing for a war that they assume is coming at some point.

Aurora is a rare phoenix just getting her life back after being held captive for a year. She is smart, kind, creative, and brave. Despite still dealing with the after-effects of her trauma, she jumps in whenever needed and has become a leader and liaison. And King is sure he wants her to rule beside him because he is already very attached to her. And she has feelings for him too even though she also has insecurities. But they have been acting as friends and avoiding it for quite a while, but it is getting harder to ignore.

And now they are facing a formidable foe who has his sights on revenge against King, but all of their lives and very existence could be at stake. It might take all of their allies with special skills to battle this opponent, but they will not go down without a fight.

This is a story of two strong, intelligent, and resilient warriors, and love, loyalty, and sacrifice. It is full of tension, action, and has several romantic threads brewing. King and Aurora will be put to the test, but the seriousness of the situation also brings awareness of what they really want and need.

This brings back so many of the previous supernatural characters and seems to couple some more up. It also brings in some new characters. There are some surprises and twists too. I really enjoy revisiting this rich world with so many different types of supes that develop strong bonds and relationships. I am looking forward to more in this world.
