A young woman, Fran, seeks refuge from the cold in an Ohio farmhouse. Wanting to forget the past several months and the horror she has witnessed, she convinces herself that she is safe, at least for the moment. Relaxing and enjoying the winter scene, she falls asleep and wakes to a new nightmare. Soon she learns that what happened at the beginning of the Zombie Apocalypse wasn't the worst of it.
A mother to 4 kids and a wife, I started out writing children stories for my children. My daughter Rylie has inspired a series I am working on called, Sandbox Adventures and helped write 2 of my children's stories, Emma Learns The Truth and Tabby's Haunted House. The cover art even contains her image.
I also write horror. I love creating twisted tales with a spin on them and a dash of humor. No one expects the evil creature to be a goldfish, but in Sam I did just that, creating the worlds first zombie goldfish. For something so small, he manages to cause a lot of chaos.
At 41 I have decided it is time for me to stop waiting to be discovered and am making my own destiny as an independent author. I hope you enjoy this journey with me.
I received this eBook for free from the author on Review Seekers on Facebook in exchange for an unbiased review.
I've seen and own so many zombie movies it's crazy. I never in a million years would have thought that I'd read a tale about zombies that was so fresh and different from any movie I've ever seen. This story blew me away! I can't rave about how much I loved reading every word. The author's spin on the zombie genre had me surprised at every turn and was told so vividly, I was freaked out! I live in Ohio, you know, and very close to where the story takes place. You will be shocked by the ending--I know I was! This is an absolute must-read for every zombie fan!
Oh my….. It’s impossible to breath from page one and you really don’t get your breath back until the end of the book. Unbelievably gripping this short book catches the imagination of the reader and makes you ask the ‘what if?’ type questions.
Lisa McCourt Hollar is wonderfully descriptive and realistic in her character portraits. The story line in phenomenally addictive from the first page and is enticing enough to keep you turning each page eagerly (I did read this on Kindle so the page turning is figurative).
