interesting but ultimately Meh
I like books where it’s an isekai but the MC goes into a novel that they themselves read, and need to change the plot. Not a unique premise. But this one fails miserably in creating any real hook.
The characters are bland. None, not even the MC, gets any real character development.
The world. I’m not expecting LoTR, but the world is boring. It’s only real interesting ‘character’ is that it’s futuristic and has magic and portals. Wow. Never seen that before. But nothing else has been established to flesh the world out.
Action. It’s minimal. And the one actual moment of combat has this 29 year old nobody from earth suddenly being able to take down multiple trained assassins who act like they’ve never been in a fight before and the MC is able to be cold, calculating, and efficient. After only a couple months of training against dumb monsters. No, the use of the system is not an excuse for him suddenly becoming and efficient killer and the trained assassins acting like school children when confronted with violence.
The Smut. I have never felt more blue balled reading one of these books. There’s sex scenes only TWICE in this entire book and, while a MINOR complaint all things considered, it’s downright a waste of time. This might as well not be a smut book. Which is weird to say since the cover is a huge breasted AI girl who the MC has no relation with at all. None of the couple scenes even reach a climax. Who does that? They’re so detailed in what acts they commit but climaxing is where the author doesn’t cross the line? Boring. Everything about this book is outright boring. I finished it because I LOVE these settings. But this one is not it. I might read book 2 in hopes the author improves but not a good start.

This book has an interesting concept, and was pretty good. There were some minor typos that could be cleaned up, but otherwise, well written.
The MC wakes up in the body of a minor side character of a "choose your own adventure" book series he just finished reading. Weak and pudgy, he's thrown out of the family for being a failure. But the MC knows most of the "death" points of this minor character's arc in the overall story. So he can try to avoid those. And thus, his plotting to go from a side character to the main character begins.
The MC has no harem by the end of the book. In fact, he doesn't really have a true love interest. He's had sex with his lifelong maid, but romance wasn't really a part of it. And he has sex at the end of the book with some random woman. Other than that, he's gotten a few women intrigued in him, but romance isn't on anyone's mind. This is supposed to be a harem series, so I guess we'll see what happens in the next book.
On to book 2.

A great read on a snowy day
It wasn't what I was expecting but I found it was quite entertaining with a light touch and some humor. The cover threw me off and the story and details didn't go into the weeds. The adult times were short and could be skipped without impact of the story which was interesting and not overwhelming. A person wakes up in the story of a book he read and goes to academy to learn how to survive. Looking forward to the next book.

Finished it in one sitting
Bought it on a whim and started reading. I couldn't stop. Main character gets stuck in story that he knows, and takes advantage of the best of the three possible paths in the story. He is initially one of the weakest, but uses his foreknowledge to advance and get revenge. Monster fights, classrooms, some sex, petty jealousy in class. Hero's good fortune seems a little overdone however, still I laughed and enjoyed it.

The story is still intruiging
Some interesting plot twists. New characters, old enemys, even adversarial siblings start popping out of the woodwork. Despite tremendous growth, there are still many more powerful people, demons and even a mythic advesary. Just when we thought it was safe to get into the water.....

DNF @21% I went into the first chapter thinking it sounded just like something else I'd read not too long ago, but I guess reincarnating into a novel-world as a minor character is a new trope in this genre.
There's a sex scene in Chapter 4 that feels like it was written by a teenage boy. Lots of clinical words, but no real feel of how everything really works.

A little short, but wonderful!
Very well written book. I was expecting a bad translation, like simpler books in the genre, but I was very surprised.
I did not notice any mistakes, and the writing was very good.
Pacing is good, but things are just getting started.
Pick this up, you won't regret it, and ii plan to buy the series, as it is worth supporting.

Not a bad book.

that cover was unconnected
The more you change things the bigger the butterfly effect you got the protagonist doing to many things that I just didn’t like his power-up methods.

Very good book
This is a fine fantasy harem adventure novel. It is well written and edited. I especially like the maid. I anxiously await the sequel.

I liked the plot, MC reaps advantages due to prior knowledge. The author slips in some humor and they don’t take themselves too seriously.

Really good book
I really enjoyed this book. The story is different from the genre but close enough to feel familiar and comfortable well worth your time and money.

Typical isekai story but I can’t wait to continue the story. I am very much in love with this genre. 🥰

This is a weird mixture of an OK story and some over-the-top drivel about big bums. Was it edited by Sir Mix-a-Lot? “Yo, put some more in about their butts! And make them big. I like big butts! I cannot lie.”
