Austyn Bates had given up on love until she watches her twin brother and one of her best friends fall in love with each other in what seemed like a matter of days. Watching their love bloom gives her hope, and her desire to love and be loved is reignited, although she remains cautious about giving her heart to someone.
Evander Michaels is newly divorced. The loneliness of singlehood weighs heavily on his heart, but dating multiple women isn’t his thing. He hates to admit how long he’s had his eyes on Austyn because it forces him to be accountable for the demise of his marriage.
Their attraction for one another has simmered under the surface for years, but crossing the line was out of the question… until one magical night. After a series of events, they find themselves bound in a way they hadn’t imagined.
Welcome to Kay Shanee's Reading Korner Kay is forty something wife and mother, born and raised in the Midwest. During the day, she is a high school teacher. In her free time, she enjoys spending time with her family and friends. Her favorite pastime is reading and writing romance novels about the dopeness of BLACK LOVE.
“I’m hungry.” I knew he wasn’t referring to food, but I didn’t want to make it too easy for him. “We can order room service.” “If your p*ssy ain’t on the menu, they ain’t got shit for me. Take these leggings off.”
One thing Kay Shanee gon’ do is, give us a nasty novella and I’ma ALWYAS be the first in line to eat it up. Pun intended. 😏😏😏 Evander has a dilemma. He’s a married man but, he’s in love with his executive assistant. Hold up. I’m getting ahead of myself. Lets rewind. Evander fell in love with Austyn the day she walked into his office three years ago for an interview. From that moment on, his marriage was in shambles. Now, while he pretended to put forth some effort to save his marriage, his wife knew his heart was no longer in it and she filed for divorce. Fast forward to the present, Evander is now a single man and he’s ready to make Austyn the next Mrs. Michaels.
Austyn is livin’ her best 35-year-old life. She still lives at home with her parents (don't judge her), she makes good money that doesn’t require a lot of responsibility, and she has a lil sneaky link on call to do what grown folks do when it’s time to scratch that itch. She also has a major crush on her boss but, married men aren’t on her vision board so she's not tryin' to go there. Little does she know, her crush signed his divorce papers four months ago and he’s more than ready to take it there. Cum with Me gave me all the nasty feels. Evander came with that pressure and stood on business when it came to his feelings about the future Mrs. Michaels. Austyn wasn’t used to this type of BDE and when she tried to run, my guy said, “Nah! You my woman and we go together now. Get your mind right.” I loved Evander’s confidence and his in your face attitude. He knew what he wanted, who he wanted, and he wasn’t afraid to go after it and make it happen. This book was a good time and I definitely recommend you add it to your TBR expeditiously.
Let me tell you… Evander is him. He’s this newly divorced businessman who stays buried in work, but the real gag? His executive assistant, Austyn, is the reason his marriage crumbled… and she doesn’t even know it. This book? Straight fire from start to finish! Evander is the epitome of “I said what I said”—intentional, bossy, and not backing down when it comes to claiming what he wants.
Now Austyn, bless her heart, had me side-eyeing her more than a few times. Girl, why are you fighting this man? Just pack your bags and move in already! He was giving big “Vander” energy the whole time, and in my head, I’m over here singing 🎵 Baby if you give it to me, I’ll give it to you… 🎵 every time he opened his mouth.
But listen, this book isn’t just spice (even though it’s spicy spicy). The love story underneath it all was so good. I kept flipping pages wondering, can these two actually make it work? Evander was solid, intentional, and honestly? A dream MMC.
The first book in this series was already on my Top 2024 list, so you know I had to check this one out. And whew, it did not disappoint. If you want spice and a love story with depth, this is it. Loved it! 🥰
Well damn! Evander wasted no time letting Austyn know how he felt about her, and what type of time he was on. He was confident, and in your face with his, and he let her know what was about to go down. Baby girl didn't know what to do with herself, as she had lusted after this man for so long, and now she has a chance with him.
Austyn tried to play coy like she didn't want that man, but he saw all the way through that. She didn't resist long, and before you knew it, they were getting in in all over his damn office, all the damn time with no shame. 🥵😂 Miss Austyn thought she had it made having an easy-going boss with glorious D that she could have all the time. Evander was like naw boo boo, this ain't that, we finna be together, together! 😂 Although she wanted this man something serious, he scared her, and she had doubts about things working out. Evander had enough confidence in their coupling for the both of them, and he had no worries about her running ass! 🏃🏾♀️😂
I did hope we got to see Evander handle Winston's ole bih ass! 🤬 Enjoyed catching up with August and Norah as well. Those epilogues were everything! 🤩 It was adorable to see Austyn finally calm down and let Evander dote on her as he had been wanting to do for years. Enjoyable read. 👍🏾👍🏾👍🏾

I loved this short read and I love Austyn devotion to herself. This make a great short read if you want to read about someone finally finding the love she deserved although she doesn't believe it's right. We she finds herself accidentally married to her boss, she fights hard to protect her feelings even with him fighting hard to make it work. The spice in this book is heavy and so it the romance!
Okay, that was seriously hot. I couldn't put this book down. Evander and Austyn were great together. Their families gelled seamlessly. I loved how Evander and Sharell were with each other. I kept waiting for Winston to pop up though so he could get knocked back down.
“I loved my wife and have a great respect for the sanctity of marriage. Not once had I ever considered stepping out… until you sat down across from me for your interview.” “Excuse me?” He didn’t respond immediately, letting his words marinate. “She had no idea that when she licked, sucked, or rode my dick, I wished it were you.” “Mr. Evander… I—um… this is… wait, what?” “There’s something magnetic about you, and I’m sick of fantasizing about what it would be like to bury my face in the apex of your thighs and feel your pussy wrapped around my dick.”
I knew this book was about to be good after this exchange between Evander and Austyn. This was page 12 and I knew I was I was in for a treat and I was. Evander...that's a man right there. He came with BDE from the beginning. He was the epitome of a grown ass man. He didn't play around. He wanted Austyn and he was going to get her. This man's mouth was filthy as hell. The freaky things he said and did to Austyn had me clutching my invisible pearls. I loved him. He's definitely getting added to the book bae list.
Now Austyn...sis was working my nerves. I understood her hesitancy in the beginning because the relationship was moving quickly but when she saw that Evander was a real man who didn't mess around and was really into her she should've moved on from reluctance. She was 34 years old. A grown ass woman acting childish and letting her insecurities and issues get in the way. I say it all the time but I'm begging at this point for authors to stop giving us these grown men who come correct from the beginning and putting them with these childish ass grown women. Why would I want to root for a man who knows what he wants and isn't playing games to be with a woman who constantly gets in the way of her own happiness? I really want authors to explain how that makes any sense. I didn't hate Austyn or even dislike her but she wasn't on Evander's level and that's real. He deserved a grown ass woman who was ready for her blessings.
I'm giving this book a 5 because it was a great read. The MMC was everything, the sex was amazing and the romance, while insta loveish, which normally isn't my thing worked for me. Again, the only complaint I have is the female character doing the most, as they tend to do because authors like to write them like that for some reason. Otherwise, I'd definitely recommend this read. It's short and to the point.
Mrs. Shanee has done it again. If she is going to present a storyline, it's will be executed thoroughly. You know a man is feeling you when your presence alone draws his attention from everything else surrounding him. Evander's feelings for Austyn started growing the minute he interviewed her. It didn't matter that he was a married man he just knew that Austyn was his soulmate. Austyn finally got to experience the same love and attention like her friends. August and Norah's relationship was equally spicy as Evander and Austyn. They mirrored each other. An interview and a career later, Austyn got more than she applied for.
So ladies and gents, you all know the spill, and that is grab your copy. This series is most definitely in the hot and scorching category. Mrs. Shanee knew the assignment and aced it.
Will let me be clear I don't know which book android more this one or it's predecessor. I will say with this book the amount of times the play on words cum with me where used had me grinning ear to ear. I will say that repetition might get in some peoples nerves but i literally loved it. I loved Austyn and Evanders story...boss/employee trope. EVANDER was my type of man...i liked him just like i liked August....2 dudes cut from the same cloth, idk who i liked better but I'll take both as book boyfriends. The level of kitty licking and stroking were out of this world....this was a nice spicy/smutty but romantic good time and I def recommend.
I love me a romance that is wrapped nice in some nasty!! Cum with me gives you all the feels of a love story while making you clutch your pearls and sweat a little bit! Evander has had feelings for Austyn for 3 years, but never made a move because he was married ! Well now Evander is divorced and it’s time he claimed the love of his life! This book was a great time and I loved Austyn and Evander. Austyn wasn’t quite ready for Evander but he was patient and he stood on business ! Kay Shanee knows how to write a book bae!!
I had to stop what I was reading to indulge in this baby and I am so glad that I did. The spice was spicing in this story Evander and Austyn definitely got down for real and I loved that for them. This was a pure good read with the right amount of spice and no drama. Make this your next read it’s that good.
The story was good, I liked the MMC but couldn’t stand the FMC. To me she was immature & it almost made me just skip to the end but I stuck it out because as I stated before it was a good story & I enjoyed it.
When you know you know. Evander knew when he first met Austyn that she was his forever. I applauded him and his ex for being mature about their relationship ending with kindness. Austyn's reluctance was plausible. In the end, Evander and Austyn were it.
Evander was not playing about Austyn! I loved that he couldn’t be moved from the future he envisioned for them. I loved that the things about her personality that would have pissed others off, he thought was cute or it turned him on. Cute, sexy read.
Evander was a really good and decent man. One could side eye him for falling in love with another woman while committed and the way he let his ex sense things to eventually end things but it was his kindness that did it that way. Austyn was understandably cautious although at the end of the day lust led to love.
3.5 ⭐️ “Baby, I’ve loved you longer than I was once willing to admit.”
“Nothing in life is guaranteed but death. You’ve already crossed the point of no return, so you might as well see it through.”
Evander & Austyn’s story was cute 🥰! Not your normal regular, smegular relationship at all. & it was REAL NASTY 😜😏😜👏🏾👏🏾! Although certain parts of the story were so so, I still enjoyed it!
First, I want to acknowledge how well-written this novella was. I seriously appreciated that the book held my attention and was easy to follow. I enjoyed Kay Shanee’s writing style. No shade, but some authors be having me fighting for my life and doing mental gymnastics while reading. THIS author was a breath of fresh air in that regard.
In the afterword, the author informs the reader that Austyn and Evander’s story was supposed to be more about sex than love, but she was moved to deviate from her original plan. I wished she didn’t switch up because this book read as if only Evander got the memo that it was a romance. Austyn, on the other hand, did the absolute most, and based on what I read, she definitely didn’t deserve him.
*slight spoilers*
Evander was a whole a** MAN. He knew what and who he wanted and wasn’t afraid to go after it. I also appreciated that he handled his business THE RIGHT WAY before pursuing Austyn. That man was intentional with every word he spoke and followed it up with actions.
Meanwhile, Austyn continuously played in his face THE WHOLE BOOK and showed no signs of changing. She ran at any hint of true intimacy, emotional connection, or deep conversation. She was more than happy with throwing some p*ssy at him, though. In fact, she did that by the second chapter. To say Austyn was 34 years old, sis was waaaay too childish for me. It was apparent she wasn’t on the same type of time Evander was on. She was still enjoying her h*e phase, and it showed because she treated him like another one of her situationships. She wouldn’t even publicly claim him and only did so because she was jealous after that man BEGGED her for over a month to let him love her out loud.
THEN she spitefully ruined a beautiful moment for them as a couple over some irrational BS she made up in her head by purposely ditching him and cutting off her phone.
AND when she openly called him a dumb a** in front of his MOTHER when he was only concerned about her care and comfort.
All of this made it hard as f*ck to root for a happily ever after for her. Instead, I prayed she finally fumbled so Evander could be handled properly by someone else.
As soon as I saw the cover of this book and after reading the synopsis, I had to have it. Evander had secretive feelings for his executive assistant, Austyn, that he couldn't and wouldn't hide from any longer. Austyn also had feelings for her boss, Evander, and was respectful of his martial status. But what happens when she finds out he's no longer married and he wants her? It makes for some pretty spicy reading!! Cause when these two go on a business trip in Reno, let's just say what happened in Reno didn't stay in Reno.
I loved how we got each characters pov of how they each remembered and saw things through their eyes. The way Evander made it his priority to cater to, protect, and love on Austyn. Even when she was a hot mess. There were several occasions I wanted Evander to just leave her cause she was doing the most. But that man loved Austyn to the moon and back. I loved that Evander took accountability for the reason his marriage to Sharrell ended the way it did. And he definitely didn't want history to repeat itself. He knew he just knew how to get under Austyn's every single time. He was determined to keep Austyn by his side at the office AND at home. Austyn sometimes got on my nerves from the mixed signals she kept putting out. I felt bad for Evander. But Evander didn't want to lose Austyn. He wouldn't back down until she was completely his. This book is a definite must-read! This author did the dang thing in this book!! You won't be disappointed.
Whew, it’s been a while since I just wanted a book to end. Yes, I know I didn’t have to finish it but I wanted to see it through hoping it got better but it just didn’t for me. Also, i enjoy this author as I have read several books but this one just didn’t do it for me and here’s why:
I couldn’t stand Evan. He was too much. He came in way too strong (yes i know it’s a novella and the pace is meant to be faster but that’s not the issue.) everything was a demand with Evan he was borderline controlling. Any time austyn questioned anything or spoke it’s was like he just dismissed it like oh but we doing xyz anyway. Even the way he was cursing at her and being aggressive, making her have conversations he wasn’t ready to have.
I also didn’t like how every conversation he had to find a way to insert *spice* no matter what it was he found a way to say something nast. I understand the genre of the book but it was almost overkill like he had no control over himself.
I wanted austyn to speak up for her feelings and the one time she did she folded immediately after. Evan spent 3yrs pining and falling in love with austyn without her knowledge and because he’s had all that time he was on GO from the beginning and didn’t really validate austyns reservations. Nothing about Evan was endearing, i just didn’t like him at all and it made this novella so hard to read, im almost hesitant to read the next one and i hate that 😭
Austyn and Evander took us from zero to 1000 with this book, and I couldn't look away, so I finished it in one sitting. Although this was a novella and I knew that going into it, I still feel like some parts of the story was rushed, and even with the epilouge, it was only a couple months later so it didn't give us any real updates- just basically a continuation of the last chapter. Then, there were several on page topics that were left unanswered. Like did Austyn and Evander go on the double date with his Sharelle and her fiance? Was Evander the best man? Was Austyn pregnant with 1 baby or multiples? Did Evander handle Winston? Did Mona finally leave Winston? A more future focused epilouge could have answered all of those questions. Overall, this one was full of steam right out the gate, but because it left me with so many questions, I don't feel like this was one of the authors' best books.
