Memories of him flood my senses: the warmth of his calloused hands on my skin, the taste of wine on his lips, his husky voice in my ears telling me all the things he wants to do to me.
His skin is soft against my calloused palm, and I’m suddenly hyper-aware of how different we are: I’m brash and unrefined, like a hastily carved wooden figurine, whereas Julian is delicate and sophisticated, like a rare porcelain collectible.
My chest tightens. God, he’s beautiful. And so far out of my league, it’s not even funny.
“You’re gonna have to keep quiet, sweetheart,” I murmur in his ear, “or the fancy crowd downstairs is gonna hear you.” Julian’s eyes flash with defiance as he hisses, “Don’t tell me what to do.” I press my body against him, sliding my thigh between his legs, pinning him to the wall. “Hmm, but I recall how you enjoyed taking my orders, baby.”
“Good boy.” I nip at his earlobe. “Take what you need, sweetheart.” “God, I hate you…” he hisses, even as he presses closer. “No, you don’t.” I trail kisses along his jaw.
“That night at the cabin, I wasn’t just inspired by your goodness. I…” The words get stuck in my throat, but I look into Julian’s face, and it gives me the strength to continue. “I…fell in love with you, Julian. I know that sounds ridiculous, but it’s true.”
“You did so well.” He peppers kisses over my eyelids, my nose, and my jaw.
