Fans of the feline with a ferocious appetite don’t just have The Garfield Movie to celebrate, but the first furry foray in a new 4-issue tie-in series! And to add yet another layer to the lasagna, this first issue features not just one story, but plenty of hilarious material for seconds...
So apparently this series is meant to be a tie-in with the Garfield movie that came out last year, but I just don't see how that's possible. I mean, they didn't even mention Olive Garden a single time throughout this entire issue, so how could the two possibly be related! Who knows, maybe they will bring it up in the next issues. What they do do this issue, however, is bring up how Garfield is apparently a "lasagna influencer", which is not only terrible, but it also makes no sense. What exactly is a lasagna influencer? What, does he just eat lasagna a bunch in a whole bunch of videos, and people like and follow the hell out of it?............ is it really that easy?

I loathe Garfield. Kudos to the illustrators who seem not to be bound to Davis's original style (which is also a thank-you to editorial and the licensors). 3-stars is high praise. I would if I could strip a half-star for announcing that the reader can only find the 2nd story's raison d'être in an upcoming film rather than in the next issue. Boo.
Pretty cute all things considered. We bought these because my son loves the movie and it's so much better than the movie. Comics for Garfield are a no brainer.
