Ivy Smoak is the Wall Street Journal, USA Today, and Amazon #1 bestselling author of The Hunted Series. Her books have sold over 4 million copies worldwide.
When she's not writing, you can find Ivy binge watching too many TV shows, taking long walks, playing outside, and generally refusing to act like an adult. She lives with her husband in Delaware.
I want to start by saying that I owe my reading addiction to Ivy. The Hunted series kicked that off for me. I loved all series after that and the carry through or characters throughout. When Tanner made an entrance I instantly loved the character. This series started off strong and ended miserably for me for a lot of reasons. I don’t ready Ivys book for spice (and I read some dark and high spicy books) I love the story line she has had throughout her book universe. But this series although it had a happy ending was not good chaos or even great spice scenes, it was a cluster eff that was really challenging. I almost DNF several times and skimmed over some parts. I also was hoping for a twist at the end, the fact that she brought the magic/genie world into a story line with characters that have been normal/mortal just didn’t work for me. It was random, just like the sex and made no sense. I’m trying to not let this series affect my love of the characters and books before but because they are in this book it makes it muddy. I’m glad there are readers who love it though, because Ivy really has some great stuff. This just wasn’t it for me.
I have been reading Ivy‘s books since I started reading about seven years ago. I will forever have James and Penny in my heart and Matt and Brooklyn as well, but the whole Ash, Tanner,Chasity, and Nigel story, I am so over it! I’m so glad I’m at the end. This book was probably the worst book I’ve ever read, but I had to keep reading because it all came together like I knew it would. I’m just really glad that it’s over and I probably will never read another one of Ivy Smoak’s book again. over the years they’ve gotten so out of hand and I think her husband Ryan has a lot to do with it. It’s never taken me so long to finish a book … Farewell to the end. Ugh!!
Lets see, we have Ash slut shaming herself at every single chance she can get, always referring to herself as a slut and a whore, the use of the word "skeet" around ten thousand times, so many derogatory references to women, the big thing revolving around Rosalee just happens to work itself out with so little effort on the author's part, it almost seemed like it was a complete afterthought instead of part of the storyline... These last two books were so far from the first two! I loved the first two, was my introduction to Ivy's books but after these last two, I'm done reading her stuff. I have never been this disappointed by an author or series before.
The only thing I really liked about this book was the last two sentences from Tanner at the very end. This could have been such a beautiful story, Tanner had so much potential as a character, but it turned out into Ash’s chaotic, pornographic way too long tale with very little substance. I’m glad this is over.
Ash is one of the most annoying narrators I’ve ever read. This ended up being a hate read for me to just finish the book and series. The author has taken a massive fall in her writing and creativity. She put just random things in to just expand this out enough to make a fourth book. It wasn’t needed at all. After getting revenge on Joe I thought that was the end but then there were seven(!) more chapters. Thought the proposal was the end but nope, still more to go. It wasn’t needed agony to finish this.
At this point I’m just done with author. Her last 3 or 4 releases have just been garbage cash grab books. I won’t support that any more. A small part of me wants to know who Chastity ends up with but at this point, I’ll just come read the review of the people that are giving this crap 4 or 5 stars and save myself the cringe.
Amazing as always and Ivy did not disappoint! This series was amazing and this final book was absolutely perfect! It’s always sad to say goodbye to a series and its characters but I can guarantee I’ll read these again!
Waste of Time.... this book definitely was not edited because of the stupid plot lines and grammatical errors. Lazy writing and stupid "conclusions". Will never read another book by this author again. The last few books have been trash.
I rarely dislike a book as much as I have disliked this one. I have previously enjoyed reading this author’s books, but this is the dumbest book I’ve ever read. Ridiculous storyline. In addition, the book clearly was not proofread prior to publication. So many typos and grammatical errors. Would not recommend.
This series started out so good. Then it took a deep turn to just sex. Too much on every page. And it’s not with each others person. I’m not a prude it’s just to much.
This book was just weird. The whole supernatural thing just got really over the top. The only reason I finished it was because I had to know the ending. Also all the gang banging was excessive.
While I love the cameos by the Caldwell and masons, there is so much chaos in this book that it loses the story. Ashe has to sleep with everyone on the planet to find her lesser true love. Tanner is trying to find loopholes in whole genie tho g. The whole book is about ash gang banging everyone. It’s out of hand. She’s doing it to free tanner though. Meanwhile tanner thinks he can off some princess but that doesn’t work. Rob knows about tanner and ends up trying to help him along with Daphne. Then ash gets a visit from ghazi who is really interested in her finding the whole lesser true love thing. She agrees to a fake engagement with her boss so he can take her to thanksgiving with his family. She jumps in the shower with him and then finds out it was his twin brother. So she decides to wait till they’re married to sleep with him. Ghazi says that if she can make him cry at her wedding then he will set tanner free.
Right before the wedding the boss finds out she’s actually whoring around and breaks it off. So she’s back to trying to find her lesser true love. Rob has tanners lamp locked up. He keeps pulling pranks. They go to see the lamp and finally ash’s last name is on the lamp so it worked. But it turns out that this Frankie chick is actually ash’s missing sister Rosalie that Nigel was hiding by changing her appearance and name and wiping her memory. Because someone was after her or whatever. Turns out she finds her true love and that gets her last name on the lamp and frees tanner. But then tanner loses his magic. Nigel gets to keep his. In another loophole ghazi says if tanner finds Santa’s magic that was stolen, he can keep it. They do some research and find out cupcake stole the magic. Tanner and ash and Daphne and rob go to cupcakes wedding and pull an epic prank. Tanner touches cupcake and gets the magic back. At the end, Tanner and ash get married and lol the friends are a big family. Ash has twins. A boy and a girl. HEA the end.

I don’t write reviews very often but this book was terrible. I almost DNF’d it multiple times because there was very little plot sprinkled in a whole lot of raunchy “spice”. I really enjoyed the Hunted and Empire High series but Tanner & Ash’s story just felt rushed and way out in left field. I’m glad it’s over. I won’t be reading Chastity’s story because I’m willing to bet it will be much raunchier than this one and I can’t say that I enjoy the raunchiness.
I'm not one to not finish a book. Ever. But this is my first DNF. All I can say is what the actual f***. I found Ivy's writing a few years ago and devoured her work. Love it. But this was horrendous and she has completely lost a fan. I don't plan to read any more of her books as the last several have just gone down hill and this one topped it all. The first two Society books were good and had so much potential. These last two were so thrown together and completely ruined everything. My name is Ashley, my friends also call me Ash and I'm awkward. It was cool to be able to relate to someone in a book in similar ways. The only person I related to these last two books were Mr. Frost and his disgust after viewing Ash's photos. Everything about this book was ridiculous. Even Santa and the fact that her sister was there the whole time? It was such a two sentence afterthought. Who the hell uses the word "skeet" this much. It was like a young perverted boy wrote this and wanted to explain every way he could think of how sex went. I'm done Ivy and if this is how your work has gone. You need to go find a real job, because writing isn't it anymore.
Oh! And way to make Empire High a joke with bringing this "world" into that one.

I think this book was a significant improvement to the 3rd book. I do think it was still a bit chaotic but felt like there was a stronger storyline in this.
My biggest gripe was her sister/Joe. This all started with Ash trying to find her sister and once she does in this book after Nigel changes Frankie back to Rosalie, there wasn't much more after that regarding her sister. And then they find out per Nigel that Joe aka Cupcake put a hit on Rosalie and he stole Santa's magic. It just seemed a little too random and sudden. I know he was Ash's ex but the whole thing was just a bit too far fetched. Granted I know this book has a Genie in it but this particular scene just seemed off and didn't fit.

I enjoyed the first two Tanner and Ash books, but this one and #TMS killed it for me. Other than Tanner and Rob kindling a friendship, this was as raunchy as Single Girl Rules. Too much.
The Hunted Series, Empire High, and the stand alones an each had such great story lines, pulling you in and connecting all of the stories. Society 1 & 2 kept that up but just took such a weird turn that I feel a little cheated.
I really tried. I did. I started The Society looking for a HEA, but I got a weird run-on sentence instead. One book would finish, and I would start the next thinking, ok, maybe they will FINALLY have their happy ending (pun intended), but no! It would just. Keep. Going. So, halfway through this one, I'm done. 3.5 is enough for me.
Get ready to fall in love with this book! There were so many twists in this book that had me guessing. Robert and Tanner might even become friends… wait, silly me. That would never happen. Chastity finds true love, with who? We might need to wait to find out. I have my guess! Rosalie has been there all along! Angel and Diablo might just get their wish! All the untouchables make an entrance with their wives and kids. First baby words are said that make Tanner tear up. Ash and Tanner have been through so much and are about to embark on another rollercoaster. This time it’s full of: Jungle rooms and mustaches, pool party contests, Thanksgiving stuffing show, big red button, the plague, Fiance boss, Christmas twins, board games, labyrinth, Minotaurs and gladiators, flaming toga, art gallery, fancy office, no more secretses, pudding, hidden in plan in site, plot twist, Nigel is smart, onyxie, luncheon with best titles, dress of dreams, off the cuff vows, history reenactment songs, weird speeches that makes you want to cry, stalker time, consciousness splitting, and a magical delivery. I can’t wait to read more about the whole crew and the kids grown up in the Scarlett series. Ivy write quick so we can keep the laughter, tears, and love going!
Ash and her free spirit is every thing any of us want to be! Shes so cool and true to herself. Her love for her man is unwavering! She will Go above and beyond for him! But, will she be able to set Tanner free and find her lesser true love? Matthew Freaking Caldwell!? Yes please! All the untouchables under the same roof again. Love seeing all of them With their own families coming together as one. And welcoming Ash in even after her incident with Matt so heart warming. Young Robert and Tanner united? A pairing you never saw coming! But who doesn’t love a good ole Fashion Hunter prank? Nigel and his crazy antics never disappoint. He’s always down for the challenge. Chasity and the girls throwing a bachelorette party is dangerously fun! Will Ash ever find Rosalee? It’s been a mystery for years and who doesn’t love Cupcake getting what he finally deserves. So many great adventures in one book! I laughed so hard throughout the entire book! You won’t be disappointed! Answers to so many questions and questions to more of the answers! So much fun!
What can I say without spoilers….. If you have come this far in Tanner & Ash’s journey you have had laughs and crazy antics throughout and this one is no different. The Untouchables make an appearance and I have to say I love seeing them as no matter what stories Ivy writes James, Penny & Co are my all time favourites and I love how they link in with Tanner & Ash (via Matt’s friendship with Tanner) I have to say though Rob is just unapologetically Rob 🤣 Jealousy and craziness follow them through this book but argghhh it’s hard to tell you about this book without spoilers. So I will just say if you have come across this book without reading the series please STOP and go back to book one or even better if you haven’t read James & Penny and all the others please go back and read them all for an understanding of all the characters as even though The Society Series is a separate couple all the other characters appear here and there. Ash & Tanner come to the end of their journey but I’m sure Ivy will find a way for us to see them all again… enjoy 😊
True Love ( The Society Book 4 ) OMG . What an emotional rollercoaster that sucks you right in from the very first page and does not let go . I actually started reading True Love late last night and to say I did not get any sleep would definitely be an understatement. All the angst , the humor , the witty banter , the heartbreaking and heartfelt moments, the off the charts chemistry, the second chances , the family and friendships , the phenomenal world building. There just are not any perfect words that could possibly describe how much I adore both Ash and Tanner . I feel like I went through it all with them . Smiling with them , laughing out loud with them , crying with them and cheering for both to find that happily ever after they so clearly deserve . And yes there were even some moments I found myself yelling outta pure frustration. I read a ton of romance all different genres by so many talented authors . But I can genuinely say Ivy’s series and writing is definitely in a category of its own . 17 minutes ago
I was super excited to be able to read "True Love", the final book in Tanner and Ash's story. It was definitely a great ending to a crazy (in a good way) bunch of characters! As the title implies, Tanner and Ash were convinced that each other were their true loves. To get there was anything but easy (about the same with writing this review without spoilers lol). Ash is desperately trying to help Tanner solve his problem. Tanner, though grateful, does struggle with 1) believing her retelling of the stories as well as 2) a bit of jealousy. They go through many bouts of craziness that only Ash (and Chastity and Nigel) can provide. We get answers to some unanswered questions, get to see a bit of revenge, and the potential of Rob and Tanner maybe, possibly, being able to be in the same room without fighting. "True Love", in my opinion, was a great conclusion to this story, written as only Ivy can. Loved it!
The novel "True Love" by Ivy Smoak is a touching and heartfelt romance that delves into the journey of a woman who feels she has inadvertently damaged her ideal relationship with Tanner. Determined to reclaim their love, she embarks on a path of redemption. The narrative explores themes of resilience and the intricate nature of love, featuring well-developed characters and engaging prose. Smoak skillfully captures the emotional depth of the protagonist's struggles, making it relatable and evoking empathy in the readers. Overall, "True Love" serves as an inspiring read for those who believe in the power of fighting for their happily ever after, reminding us of the strength and resilience of the human spirit in the face of adversity.
I finished True Love and I enjoyed it so much as well as the whole Society series!
I can say that the Society series is the bridge between the Empire High universe and Single Girl Rules world, with a sprinkle of the Sweet Craving series (Going for Gold, mostly). And when those worlds meet, lots and lots of chaos! But it's really so entertaining. I laughed so hard that I had to catch my breath a few times. 😆😆😆
It was hilarious , a bit emotional because it brought back Empire high memories, and I love how it ended!
And if you read Empire High, Matt and Brooklyn are much better in this series and it's only been less than a year since they were married. Let's just say this is the first time that I felt Brooklyn's genuine happiness. And Matt being the man he's meant to be.
While it's sad that the Society series has come to an end, I know I'll read about them again in future series 🥰🥰🤣
What a page turner! This book will have you laughing so hard. I’m so sad to see this series end, but it couldn’t have ended any better. Will Ash and Tanner end up together? Is Tanner Ash’s true love? Will Ash find her lesser love to free Tanner or will she try something else to set Tanner free? All these answers will be answered.
This story also has Mr. Frost. What he has to do with Ash, well let’s just say I didn’t see that coming. Their story and what happens had me rolling. You have Robert and his pranks, Nigel and his craziness, and the rest of the gang appearing in this book. You have quite a bit of adventures Ash partakes in. You also have her friend Chastity, oh Chastity. She’s definitely a trip. I’m happy how this story reminisced on past antics and #Tanash. I’ll leave it at that.
If you have read Ivy’s previous stories you know that we love getting to see our OG crew. Having this book wrap up another couple, Ash & Tanner is bittersweet.
Ash, quirky, anxious, beautiful & one of a kind. Finally finding her place in a group where Penny is her idol. To her many incidents with Matt. She gives you her feels and makes you laugh so hard. Yet you cheer her on because you want her to get it all.
Tanner, mysterious, a billionaire beyond, handsome, quick witted & in need of love. He finds his better half and just wants to be loved. So close to having it yet so far.
True love is just that. Going through it all to make it to the end. Bring on our special friends who love so much and this book just gives its all. So get ready for the spice, the laughs, the pranks, & so much more. As always, our favorite author never disappoints.
What an epic conclusion to what has been one of Ivy’s funniest, zaniest, mind-bending, and downright sexiest series to date.
Ash and Tanner are both desperately trying to find a way to break his curse. Ash brings out her inner freak and I was so here for it!
True Love wraps up everything we’ve come to ponder and every obstacle Ash and Tanner have faced - in a way that is a bit shocking and equally astonishing. Of course that comes with some more “incidents” and kept me in stitches and blushing with second hand embarrassment.
With all the ups and downs these two have faced yet stuck together, of course there’s nothing left but True Love!
The ending (the last 5 or so chapters) was my absolute favorite - and I wish I could say a whole lot more about it, but I’d be throwing up some huge spoilers.
Grab your copy and hang on to your knickers for the wild ride!
True Love by Ivy Smoak is the last book in The Society and boy is it a doozy! It picks up right where the previous book left off and is not a standalone story. The books must be read in order in order to be able to follow along since each story does end on a cliffhanger.
True Love takes readers on a wild ride as only Smoak can deliver. It's hilarious, emotional, exciting, crazy, sexy, and super raunchy. It will make you laugh and shake your head while also making you smile. The antics in this story are second to none! With witty banter, and some truly outrageous moments, readers will love the conclusion to Ash and Tanner's journey. Appearances by the Untouchables add memorable moments to this already memorable story. This Is Love is exactly what you expect from the talented Smoak. 5 stars
