To move out of his brother’s house. To stop working so many jobs. To climb the tall, dark, and broody photographer who lives upstairs like a tree.
When Archer sees the sexy young yoga instructor, he is intrigued. As a businessman, Archer understands working hard for what you want, and he respects that. But when a photograph taken at the Windsor leads to Crispin putting himself in danger, Archer steps in.
Crispin may want a lot of things, but Archer knows what he needs…a Daddy to help lighten his load and keep him out of trouble.
Something mysterious is happening at the historic Windsor Place. Join Archer, Bram and Hitch as they search for answers.
Both Jacki James and Sammi Cee write amazing daddies on their own, but when they get together... WOW! From the slow build to the strong worldbuilding and introduction of the more of the characters for the series, this book ticks all my boxes for a daddy/boy story.
I like that Archer is so careful with Crispin and while their relationship progresses quickly once they're together, it is a slow build to that point. I will say that I'm 95% sure I've solved the mystery, but honestly, I don't even care...
I can't wait to see what happens next and how things progress in the Daddies of Windsor Place world... I'm also hoping that Cort gets his HEA too!
4,5 stars Archer is the start of a new series, The Daddies of Windsor Place. This series is a colab between Jacki James and Sammi Cee, 2 of my favorite Daddy authors. This first book is the story of Archer and Crispin. I loved their story. It was sweet, sexy, full of feels and very well written. It also has a mystery which I can't wait to find out more about. I have some ideas and I can't wait to find out if I'm right. Can't wait for the next book!
Jacki James has been one of my go to authors for a few years now. I've also enjoyed a few by Sammi Cee.
This is a sweet Daddy/boy story, though it's not too heavy on the Daddy thing. It's there, just not all over every single page. Archer and Crispin's relationship is allowed to build organically without a whole lot of drama thrown in. Quite the opposite, actually. There's zero drama between these two. I really like all of the secondary characters, some of whom will be having their own stories. A lot of things were left unfinished here, so I look forward to watching everything be resolved. I do, however, feel that a few things in Archer and Crispin's story should've been resolved in their own book as I don't see it happening later because they won't be the main characters.
I love Crispin's brother, but I absolutely hate his parents. His dad is just an obnoxious jerk. His mother is his dad's enabler. Something with his parents is the main thing I felt needed to be elaborated on before the book ended.
As much as I enjoyed this, I'm holding off on a full review until after I've read the others in the series. There are too many loose ends to do a proper review.
Archer by Jacki James and Sammi Cee is part of their Daddies of Windsor Place series. It is the story of two men, a photographer Daddy who didn’t think he would ever find a Boy and an overworked yoga instructor Boy who fall in love with the backdrop of the beautiful Windsor Place Hotel that had been changed into condominiums and shops. Archer is a photographer who lives at Windsor Place as well as has his studio and darkroom there. He loves taking pictures and is quite sought after and busy but hasn’t yet found a Boy that suits him. Crispin has taken over the yoga studio, Harmony and Joy that is also located in Windsor Place, from Aziza, the woman who taught him everything and that the peace and joy that yoga gives him is what he needs to be doing with his life. He works hard at building up clients and working for Door Dash as well as lives with his brother, Ben, to save enough money to buy the studio, even though he doesn’t know how much Aziza wants for it. His parents, especially his father, think he is wasting his life because he has a degree in finance but hated working in that business. They keep showing up at his brother’s unannounced just so they can make him feel bad about his life choices. Crispin has noticed Archer from afar at the Windsor and thinks he is hot but is too shy to approach him. That is until he makes a Door Dash delivery to his condo where they finally meet and Crispin tells him about his aspirations to buy the yoga studio. Archer has watched Crispin make some poses when the blinds are open in the studio and is fascinated by him. Then he goes into the studio while he shows him what he does with yoga and his crystal singing bowls. He takes pictures of him while he is deep into what he is doing and then asks about having a website. Crispin tells him he doesn’t have one because Aziza didn’t have one and also he doesn’t think he can afford to pay someone to make one for him. Archer volunteers to help him with it and then they start spending more time together. The more they do, the more they are enthralled by each other which leads to a date and dinner at Archer’s apartment and then to a hot love scene. Archer knows that Crispin is the Boy for him and Crispin desperately wants a Daddy and Archer fits the bill, especially since he shows his caring by making some rules and checking in with him. They finally meet with Crispin’s family and his father is being a bully so they leave. That is when they declare their love for each other and Crispin moves in with Arthur as they both make time for each other and are so happy. I really enjoyed this sweet book. Crispin is such a good, hardworking person who finds the silver lining in every situation. Archer wasn’t looking for a Boy but when Crispin came into his life he knew he was his. He looked after him and made sure he was eating and not working too hard. Bram who owns the bakery in the building and Hitch who runs it are both Daddies and help out when they can. Elton is a somewhat strange Boy that Crispin takes under his wing and shows him how yoga can help him as he writes fantasy books. Cort is a PI friend who is looking for his younger brother, Jordi, who disappeared when he was 13 because of a poor home situation, and while sightings of him have occurred this is still an ongoing mystery. And, of course, Aziza comes through when Archer makes Crispin talk to her and helps solve a lot of his problems. I highly recommend this book, especially if you like Daddy/Boy stories with a very caring Daddy and an overworked Boy who find each other and discover they are just what the other one needs as they fall in love.
Jacki and Sammi always give us the perfect Daddy's and the precious boys who love them. So when they team up, you know it's gonna be good. So add this to your TBR right now then we can meet Crispin and Archer.
Archer is a photographer who owns his own studio and does phenomenal work in and around The Windsor, a former glamorous hotel turned luxury apartments with businesses below. He's a daddy who has been waiting for the right boy to care for and love.
Crispin is a yoga teacher who left the corporate finance world to follow his true passion. He has an awesome supportive brother and two parents who do not share in their son's choice of profession. His father tears him down and his mother just allows it to happen. He currently looking to purchase the studio where he works from his friend who's journey in life takes her to Florida. He feels once he's successful his parents have to come around. In the meantime, life throws Archer in his path and his life will never be the same.
Archer is a bit grumpy and keeps too himself with the exception of his Daddy friends who we meet throughout this story who also operate their own businesses in town. He spots Crispin doing his thing and he's immediately drawn to the man but knows very little about him. Their paths cross and one conversation leads to many more. Archer is drawn to the passion Crispin shows not only for yoga but other meditative disciplines. He snags some photos and it seems that may be the end but truly it is only the beginning of the connection building.
Archer takes being a Daddy seriously and as he begins to get to know Crispin it is apparent that he needs a Daddy and there is no other man for the job. Archer is a business owner so that's the route he takes to show Crispin the kind of life and love he deserves. Once they declare themselves Daddy and sweet boy there is no going back. This does not mean that life is without it's challenges. We learn of a mystery for one of the Daddy's and other daddy's who are struggling to find a boy or have found one but are unsure how to proceed with them as well as Crispin's awful parents.
But two Jeans makes a great team(iykyk) and this is a delightful HEA. The heat is on the milder side but you will still feel the love that radiates between the two men.
The Daddies of Windsor Place will definitely burrow a place in your heart and I cannot wait to read about them and their boys.
I love reading a start of a new series getting introduced to all the new characters, trying to guess who will have their own story and who will get together with who. So I eagerly jumped into Archer, the first character to have his story. Archer is a successful photographer living and working in Windsor Place. Earning his main income taking portrait pictures, his main love is going out with his camera taking candid shots. On most days his broody grump self is found ending the day with a whiskey, but he wouldn't change it for the world. That is until he spots a very flexible Crispin. Crispin, the new Yoga instructor has seen Archer around Windsor Place, working himself hard to get enough money to buy the yoga studio. Living with his brother to try and save more cash. I loved how by chance Asher saw Crispin and got him thinking that Crispin needed a Daddy. When they finally met they just clicked and were so good together. Archer giving the physical and emotional care and guidance that Crispin needed. He never forced a decision, took his time with Crispin knowing it was something special. Whilst Crispin brought a breath of fresh air into Archer's life making him smile more than he did. Some of my favourite scenes were the descriptions of Archer's photography session which had me laughing as I read. I loved that were were getting the history of Windsor Place and I was trying to imagine what it was like when it was a hotel. I loved the friendship that was developing with Crispin and Elton and them together had me smiling to myself at their giggles and antics all I can think is that Archer and ? (I have my suspicions) are going to have their work cut out looking after them. And then you have the mystery that is running through the story, which has me intrigued as where it will go in the next in the series. I love Jacki James' Daddies and I am embarrassed to say I have not read any of Sammi Cee's work but I am going to correct this. They wrote seamlessly together and I could not tell who was writing which scene. I am so excited to carry on with this series and will be eagerly waiting the next in the series
I really enjoy both of these author's books individually but, together, is a whole new treat and it's a wonderful romance to read. Archer is a resident at The Windsor, and also has his photography studio there so it's no surprise he sees a lot of Crispin, who has taken over running the yoga studio there. Crispin has been running himself ragged trying to find his dream of buying the yoga studio from his mentor. Everyone has noticed but Archer especially, and he decides to take action and possibly find himself a HEA with a boy of his own. Crispin has definitely noticed Archer around, and would love to find out more. The sweet, older man helps to bring some balance to Crispin's life but also find joy in things outside of the yoga studio. There's a definite chemistry between them that is adorable to read as they get closer to what they both want. There is also a lot going on around The Windsor, with others who live/work there, as well as a mystery that Crispin, along with his new friend, Elton, are determined to help solve. Family drama for Crispin has me occasionally on edge, just because of how he was spoken to by those who are supposed to love and support you. A highly enjoyable read that I know fans of daddy/boy romance, and of both of these authors, are going to love. I received an ARC and am happily giving a review.
I love Jacki James and Sammi Cee books so when I saw they were collaborating for this book, I was so excited. And they did not disappoint!! I loved it from beginning to end. Their own magical way with Daddy books wove perfectly together and created a beautiful story with just the right amount of sweetness and steam 🔥🔥 Crispin and Archer are attracted to each other at first sight. However, their relationship is not rushed but set perfectly for these two. Crispin may be struggling but he knows exactly what he wants. Archer is the perfect person to give a helping hand to poor stressed and over worked Crispin. Little by little their attraction develops into loving relationship which allowed Archer to be the Daddy he wanted to be to Crispin. However, loved that he only provided help and guidance, allowing Crispin to blossom on his own merits and strength, never over stepping or taking complete control over Crispin's path to achieving his dream. The side characters were also very well developed, adding to the story, especially a touch of mystery and suspense. I can't wait to read the next stories in this new wonderful world set in the Windsor Place.
Archer by Jacki James and Sammi Cee is book 1 in the Daddies of Windsor Place series. Archer lives and works in the Windsor condo building. It is a renovated hotel that has been turned into condos and businesses. Archer is a photographer who goes through each day photographing kids, weddings, and families. His real passion lies in the moments he can steal away and take photos with film. He’s content with his life. Crispin is a yoga instructor who is working all day every day to realize his dream of buying the yoga studio. I loved these two together so much. Archer realized that Crispin needed a daddy to help him achieve his dreams and keep him on track without overworking himself. Crispin breathed life into Archer’s boring existence. They complimented each other very well. I loved all the side characters and the mini-mystery with Cord’s brother which is not solved yet. I didn’t like how the conflict with Crispin’s family is not resolved by the end because it makes me wonder when we will see it happen. All in all, this was a very enjoyable story and I look forward to the next one!
I received an ARC from the author for my honest review
What a suburb daddy/boy romance by an amazing duo of authors.
Archer (aka Daddy) is a slightly grumpy photographer who lives and works at Windsor Place. He becomes enamoured with Crispin, the soon-to-be owner of the yoga studio there. Crispin is a man on a mission and is definitely in need of a daddy to help him achieve his full potential and not overrun himself. And you know, remind him to eat and stand up to his parents as needed.
I really enjoyed their tentative courting. Crispin has a youthful but passionate love of life and people. I love that he puts a spring in Archer’s step.
We also get to meet the other daddies and one boy who I know we are going love. There’s also an intriguing storyline of Cort trying to find his missing brother.
This is the first book in The Daddies of Windsor Place series and I really enjoyed it. This is the story of Crispin and Archer. Crispin runs the yoga studio at Windsor Place, He is living with his brother to save money so that he can purchase it outright from his friend. Crispin is overworked, eating and sleeping poorly, all in an effort to save money for the studio. He needs someone to help him take control. Archer lives and works at Windsor Place. He is a photographer and artist. Both are interested in each other just from seeing the other around. It isn't until the two meet face to face that the sparks start to fly. Archer is a daddy who wants to help his boy take care of of himself. Good thing that is exactly what Crispin is looking for. This is their story. The book is well written and easy to read. I really enjoyed the sweet story and watching their relationship grow. I am looking forward to the next book in this series.
I received a complementary advanced review copy of this book from the author and I am voluntarily leaving a review.
Crispin wants a lot of things like to move out of his brother’s house, to stop working so many jobs and to climb the tall, dark, and broody photographer who lives upstairs like a tree. When Archer sees the sexy young yoga instructor, he is intrigued. As a businessman, Archer understands working hard for what you want, and he respects that. But when a photograph taken at the Windsor leads to Crispin putting himself in danger, Archer steps in. Crispin may want a lot of things, but Archer knows what he needs - a Daddy to help lighten his load and keep him out of trouble.
This was a sweet story with a determined Crispin who wanted to make a success out of his dream to teach yoga and Archer who was a talented photographer and Daddy who wanted to help Crispin. I loved this story which showed how much Crispin needed help and how perfect Archer was to be that person. Easy to read, feel and understand. This was an MM story with a BSDM-like Daddy/boy dynamic.
Archer and Crispin's story was a sweet read. Daddy-lite and not spicy. There's an age gap between them but it was never made clear how many years. There was no confict between them, just an attraction from afar on both sides until they finally get to know each other, and everything is very easy between them but there's nothing wrong with that. Frankly, with no friction or road bumps, I was actually more interested the dynamics between Archer and his friends, Hitch and Bram, and the new friendship between Crispin and Elton. There's also Cort, whose story arc in this added interest and I hope the resolution of that comes swiftly. The only real tension comes from Crispin's parents and that was left unresolved, which was a bit naff. I liked Crispin's brother, Ben, who was a sweetheart, and I'd love him to get his own HEA so maybe if that happens, the parent situation will be resolved in that book.
I loved this story so much! Crispin is the sweetest boy ever and I would be tempted to take a yoga class if someone like him taught it. Archer is the perfect daddy and I loved how he walked around with his camera to take pictures of people and places that interest him. The Windsor Hotel sounds like a dream place to live and I really like Archer's friends Hitch and Bram and Crispin's new friend, Elton who is definitely on Hitch's radar. Ben, Crispin's brother is wonderful and I hated the father for always putting Crispin down and the mother not really defending him. The dinner at Ben's place with the parents was a disaster and I was so proud of Crispin leaving and Archer's full support. I hope that Cord finds his brother Jordy and that Crispin's parents finally learn to respect his choices.
Archer and Crispin are likable characters, and they are great together. Each works for himself in the building where Archer lives. Business ownership is new to Crispin, and he needs someone like Archer to help him figure out how to handle things without wearing himself out completely. Luckily, Crispin's and Archer's wants and needs are very compatible. I enjoyed this couple and their romance, which was a really good start to what promises to be a terrific series. I hope that we see this romance evolve as the other couples find their own HEAs. I'm looking forward to all the books in this series, and I wouldn't mind an offshoot that shows Crispin's sweet brother finding a love of his own. I'm here for whatever these co-authors are willing to provide!
This is pretty daddy-lite. Archer is a photographer who lives/works in an old hotel/apartment building. Crispin runs a yoga studio in the same building while living with his brother and trying to earn enough money to buy the brand from the previous owner. He's not doing too badly so that's why I said Daddy lite but Archer helps him figure out his finances and they finally get together and just sort of slowly move in together. I appreciated Crispin's brother who was kind to him and supportive and I HATED Crispin's parents who did not support him at all. I loved when Archer stood up to Crispin's dad and told him off. Yay. Finally. I love a good show-down. So a cute read with the other daddies in the building waiting their turn. Light and fluffy but a fun read.
I had the pleasure of receiving an ARC for this first book in the new series co-written by Jacki James and Sammi Cee, both authors I adore, and I jumped on the chance of reading it. I loved it! It's actually 4.5 stars, but Goodreads, what can we do. It's the perfect beginning for a new series of interconnected stand-alones, I loved the main couple but also the rest of the characters around them and I want to read their stories so bad! This one is sweet and with the right amount of spice, I loved how natural everything was <3 If you like any (or both) of the authors, go read this one too, I'm sure you'll love it!
To be honest, I’m at a point where Daddy/boy stories really aren’t doing it for me anymore. That being said, I’m so glad that I decided to give this new series a try anyway. I am a big fan of both of these authors, so I almost felt guaranteed to enjoy this book. Both MCs are lovely men, and I liked seeing the secondary characters come to life as well. I’m no expert on yoga but I have taken a dozen or so classes, and every one ended with Namaste, so I was surprised Crispin didn’t incorporate that lol. Overall, this was an incredibly sweet story which I can definitely recommend.
Archer is a great palate cleanser after a dark and/or intense read. Archer is sweet, refreshing and plain adorable. This book begins a new Daddy series, this one centering around a group of friends who live and/or work in Windsor Place. Our story focuses on Archer, the photographer, and Crispin, a new yogi starting his own studio. There is a little mystery cliffhanger, but it isn’t central to our characters’ story. I do believe we will see more on the mystery as the series continues.
As always with Jacki James and Sammi Cee books, I finished reading Archer with little hearts floating around my head.
I don't know if I've ever read an MC as sweet as Crispin is. He deserves all the good things, and he starts to get them as the story progresses. Archer is a daddy who truly appreciates Crispin's goodness. There is no angst to deal with but there is an intriguing mystery that begins and will carry through the series, I believe. There is a good introduction of our future characters and I look forward to reading their stories. The story is perhaps a little slow but that's okay, occasionally. If you enjoy a sweet love story that is an easy read, you will definitely enjoy this first installment of the Windsor Place daddies.
A very cute start to a new series from these two authors. Never met a better team up. I was kind of hoping there would be some crossover potential here from other series, but so far, nothing. I liked both the MCs equally and all the side characters. Obviously very attached to Elton yet and wondering who Bram will end up with. There were a few instances of grammatical errors, but overall the story was good and moved at a good pace. I do wish we got more of a resolution between Crispin and his parents, but oh well. His dad reminded me of my step dad so I'm fine with Crispin never talking to him again. Looking forward to continuing this series.
This was such a fantastic start to a new series! Crispin and Archer are the sweetest! Such well developed characters and a great storyline! I love how protective Archer was and how he handled Crispin so he’d take better care of himself. My heart went out to Crispin but I absolutely loved how he was such a positive and cheerful person! I loved how he befriended Elton! Loved the introduction to all the characters and can’t wait for their stories! This was such an enjoyable and entertaining story that I didn’t want to put it down! Very well written story that I highly recommend! This is my honest opinion of this complimentary copy of this book
This was really lovely, low on steam but plenty of Daddy/boy sweetness. The setting was amazing, the Windsor Place is full of charm and history and some really intriguing residents. A great start to this new series! I really enjoyed the chemistry between Archer and Crispin, who have been secretly pining for each other. I loved that they didn’t play games or try to hide their interest in trying for more than passing acquaintances at the Windsor. I also really enjoyed the addition of a bit of mystery to the plot. The historic Windsor is beautifully described and has excellent atmosphere. Loved it!
I voluntarily reviewed a complimentary copy of this book.
1.75 ⭐ Let's see. 20 chapters: 85% of the content is about the characters professional occupation (yoga/meditation & photography). I... Didn't came here for that? First kiss chapter 10 & first sex chapter 11. We have 2 awfully boring & pedestrian sex scenes with cartridge🔛slot (10 lines top, followed by comments on how "wonderful"(word used 3 times in a row) it all was. I didn't feel anything, not a bit of chemistry. 😭 The Daddy Boy dynamic was almost symbolic (wifey nagging you about your breakfast doesn't equate power exchange) & all the Sweet Boy & Daddy! can't save this train wreck. Let's find a palate cleanser shall we.

I absolutely adored this light read, sweet daddy/boy story! I got hooked on these men quicker than any I’ve read in some time. Both MCs were lovable and it was refreshing to see no drama or angst between them, and no third act breakup. The low angst came from other characters which was a nice change from many of the MM books I’ve recently.
I also liked the back story which will carry through the subsequent books, tying them together with storyline, in addition to characters. I need the next one like, yesterday!
Archer and Crispin story was sweet and interesting with two souls that deserve their happiness. Their beginning was snort worthy as they kept avoiding each other but still following from afar, and the first meeting face to face was so unexpected and hilarious. They are perfect for each other, they find the balance they are looking for, and they accomplish more professionally and personally thanks to the confidence boost and the caring they received. They also had an ongoing mystery they are confident they will see to the end. It was enjoyable, and I can’t wait for the next adventure.
Loved the new lot of characters and how this series is being set up, love the setting (the Windsor, grand ol' hotel-turned-condos-complex), and loved the way this story played out for both MCs. Such a light & fun, sweet & swoony with a bit of spice Daddy romance. Crispin is precious, his parents' behavior pitiable, his brother's a rock star, and his new friends help them get in and out of trouble while finding out who & what he truly can be. Looking forward to more Daddies & boys finding their way to a HEA of their own!
Archer is a photographer and Crispin is attempting to buy and run a yoga studio in the same building. Archer is definitely a Daddy and Crispin is crushing long before he actually meets the mature, grumpy, beautiful Daddy, the one who instantly is concerned that young Crispin is working too hard. It's a match made in heaven that all can see with instant attraction and friends who are going to need their stories, too. Archer is an excellent Daddy anyone would want. I received a copy of this book and this is my voluntary opinion.
This is the first book in a new series by Jacki James and Sammi Cee and what a start! Crispin is working hard to realize his dreams and lusting after the brooding hot guy in his building. Archer is established in his life but missing that spark, or joy. You immediately want to root for these two guys, and also meet the other characters of Windsor place. With some intrigue woven in and the heartfelt scenes we love this book is an instant hit and leaves you wanting more from the Daddies of Windsor Place!
What a great start to a new “Daddy” series. I have always enjoyed both of these authors. This book was super sweet and had all the Daddy vibes and brings all the heat. Archer is a successful business owner who didn’t think he would find his “boy”. Crispin (what a great name) is a new business owner trying to make his passion his life work. I love the “Windsor”. The grand hotel turned into stores and condo’s. This book introduces the world they live in and the friends that I am sure will have their own HEA in future books. I highly recommend this book. Enjoy!
