Just when I think the Twisted Sisters have fought their biggest battle, another one looms on the horizon and THIS one was the best yet!
This particular chapter in the Sisters' journey features their most complicated, multi-faceted enemy to date. Which in turn, requires an equally sophisticated plan of attack. I'm not a fan of mysteries but l really enjoy reading about the challenges that the Sisters face and how they use their individual talents to work towards a common goal.
Sometimes, solutions seemed to present themselves rather obviously or quickly but all in all, this book was a great read. Each character has their own voice and they all contribute in one way or another.
I can't wait to see what's around the next corner for these dynamic ladies. :).

This is book thirteen of the Twisted Sisters Midlife Maelstrom and the six sisters, better known as the Twisted Sisters, were hoping for a bit of time off without any more parties or magical emergencies, but that never happens in New Orleans. They get a call about some strange things happening in a magical shop in the French Quarter, thinking it might be another poltergeist like their last case, but this one proves to be a lot more serious and could be deadly to the whole of their world and their futures. There is no trace of ghosts or spirits, instead the strange happenings start to expand all over the quarter and soon brings about the realisation of these happenings being the work of a group known as the Lost Legends. They were bound decades ago, after carrying out a long string of dangerous hijinks, endangering other supernatural as well as the innocent humans around them. Their actions were cruel and caused a lot of problems until Marie’s ancestors took them down. Now they are back, yet another supernatural problem awakened by the events of the recent months. As they hit the history books and try to research what they can about the Lost Legends, one of the sisters takes a call about a party for some Light Fae, at their plantation. They could do with some extra income due to all the repairs they have incurred from recent events and insurance costs rising, but didn’t know at the time, just how dangerous this group were and how much time it would take up trying to stop them. As occurrences and disturbances increase, the supernatural hotline is overwhelmed, and the sisters start getting direct calls to their own phones as well!
Calling the supernatural council to meet, has everyone else declaring their worries, with the Lost Legends seeming to affect time itself, with people, buildings and even vehicles flickering between the past, present and even the future! These temporal time distortions could pull apart the very fabric of their city and everyone in it. The Lost Legends are using a powerful crystal to increase their power and aid in the ritual they wish to perform, which would remake the world to a time of their choosing, destroying everything else in its place. The only problem is that they don’t have quite enough power to connect to the crystal fully and a few dead bodies linked together by the coroner, who happens to be a brownie, due to the markings on them, raise more questions, but also a possible place to get some answers. Marie’s ancestors were the ones to bind the Lost Legends and the markings on these more recent bodies, must be written down in one of Marie’s family libraries. Marie is of course reluctant to allow the sisters into one of her secret family homes, but her family’s knowledge will be key to stopping the Legends. Books from her family show the markings and that they were made whilst the victims were alive, in a effort to gain a connection to the crystal and increase their own power. The sisters get called away but soon get an urgent call from Marie to return, as she has found information connection the sister’s own family line to the crystal and a prophecy that is very particular and clearly about the six sisters! Every time the sisters have tried to take down the Legends, they have been finding their own magic ineffective, and it has left them feeling weak. They soon find out the Legends are using their family link to the crystal to draw their power from them. Each time they try to confront the Legends they end up ever weaker and nothing they do seems to work. Betrayal has made their job even harder, and time is running out, with the Fae party and the possible end of their existence seemingly converging!
The prophecy warned of betrayal and is writing itself as they watch, but it is the surprising events back at the plantation, that may give them a chance to succeed against this malevolent force from the past. Cami isn’t the only one tied to the plantation, with other spirts there to act as guardians, well before this place even existed. They will even get to see the spirit of a close loved one, who will help them bring their special sisterly connection together at a key moment after the Legends target the sisters themselves. The sisters are stronger together and have a connection between them that has made them into the supernatural fixers of New Orleans, as well as fantastic party organisers! The consequences of not stopping the Legends in time, could be the end of their ow existence, that is how serious this case has turned out to be. It seems that Pheobe did not awake new powers in the sisters, but in fact long held powers within both of their family lines, which show they are protectors of the crystal, and the plantation had always been a special place with power. Spirits of the guardians of the past residents of the plantation will show the sisters the power within the plantation, which will hopefully help catch the Legends at just the right moment to stop them. With all the temporal time disturbances the Legends have created, it is almost impossible to catch them in the correct and fleeting frame of time needed to stop their ritual and grab the crystal off them. Their family lines of determination and intuition are key to their abilities and connection as sisters and it is that which will prevail in the end, as the sisters fight to reconnect together, using the power of their entire family, friends, lovers and even their ancestors, to power the magic they hold against the Lost Legends and to break the connection the Legends have with the crystal. There will be a powerful backlash when they disrupt the connection, a backlash that could kill the sisters and everyone around them. The anchors of those they love and are loved by, will be key to anchoring them to their own time and place, as they attempt to bring the paranormal world of New Orleans back to normal.
An exciting book with magic that takes on a science fiction feel with disruptions of time throughout the city, with temporal tears of reality happening everywhere and the sisters finally looking as if they could be defeated! A hard-fought scenario for the sisters and one that was nearly deadly to them. I received an ARC copy of this book from BookSprout, and I have freely given my own opinion of the book above.

Brenda Trim delivers another wickedly fun, chaos-infused adventure with Lagniappe & Lost Legends, and I was absolutely hooked from the first flickering light to the last pulse of magic. The Twisted Sisters are back, and let’s be real—peace was never going to last long in the Crescent City.
One of the things I adore about this series is how effortlessly Trim blends supernatural mystery with humor, heart, and a touch of Southern charm. This time, the stakes feel even higher when a magical shop turns into a full-blown haunted nightmare, and the Sisters find themselves in the crosshairs of the Lost Legends—a group of paranormal entities that don’t just rattle chains for fun; they bring real danger.
The atmosphere in this one is chef’s kiss—the French Quarter practically hums with restless energy, and I loved how the setting itself felt like a living, breathing part of the mystery. Add in the Sisters’ unshakable bond, their razor-sharp wit, and the constant push-and-pull of magic gone awry, and you’ve got a story that’s impossible to put down.
What really made this book stand out for me was the sense of urgency. The Twisted Sisters have faced their fair share of supernatural disasters, but this time, there’s a real question of whether they can outwit a force as cunning as the Lost Legends. The tension crackles, the humor balances the darkness, and the emotional depth keeps you invested in every twist.
Love books packed with magical mischief, found family, and badass women who won’t back down from a fight (even when the ghosts fight dirty), then Lagniappe & Lost Legends is exactly the kind of read you need. Buckle up, because this one takes the paranormal chaos to a whole new level!.
Lia, Dre, Phi, Kota, Dani & Dea (The Twisted Sisters) are at it again, New Orleans is having haunted hotspots and the sisters have been called in to fix it. And as we all know this will not be a standard ghostly challenge; the sisters are never that lucky. Get ready for some chuckles and laugh out loud reading! Brenda Trim and Chris Cain are wonderful writers with the ability to take make the worst horror into hilarious shenanigans. The characters are well developed, the situations and plot imaginative as well as interesting. I highly recommend this series.

Magical mayhem at its finest! - The sting of betrayal smacks the sisters in this tale of magical mayhem. Power is the end goal but the fiend should have known better. The Six Twisted Sisters never give up on a righteous cause, especially when a beloved family member and the world itself are at stake. They will shed blood, sweat and tears before it's all over, but victory will be theirs. Their bond as sisters will be needed like never before, even as they rely on help from their allies. Another wonderful tale from the creative mind of Brenda Trim.

Well, the Twisted Sisters are really in it this time as a group of supernaturals known as The Lost Legends returns to New Orleans to wreak time-distorting havoc. They have grabbed a magical crystal that they can use as an energy source to fuel their mayhem. The sisters seem to take two steps back for every step forward as they scramble to stop the group from achieving their goal. Whatever that is, it can't be good...
I was given an advanced copy of this book by the author. My review is voluntary.
The Twisted Sisters are always getting into something, and you can't help but hang on every page to see how they work through their latest adventure. This is a wonderful series and will be enjoyed by anyone who loves NOLA, like I do, and the stories and legends that are famous there. Brenda Trim works the stories and legends from NOLA and Louisiana into her fictional story, making them so much fun to read!

Wow these stories keep your attention on lock down! Love the slippery slide into losing a grip on reality and the way they fix things. For the Twisted Sisters, family and sisterhood are all consuming and its' the one way that keeps them sane. Ms. Trim keeps the pas fast and keeps your interest as we bounce back n forth between saving the world and planning parties! Awesome and looking forward to the next adventure with the six Twisted Sisters! I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
The Twisted Sisters must deal with varying time distortions and hot spots affecting not only the supernatural but human communities as well. This story was intriguing, and the paranormal elements really added some excitement to the overall plot. The characters worked so well together, and their unique personalities shined in this book.

This installment felt like being inside a kaleidoscope with all the time shifts, colors, and rolling history. It definitely kept me on the edge of my seat while trying to keep up with all that was going on. The sisters faced everything with their usual snark and paranormal powers while still planning an over-the-top paranormal party. Another winner!.

the ties that bind the Twisted Sisters might be what strangles them, and possibly ehat might save them - sister stuff is conplicated.
throw in realm or dimension changing threats, other miscellaneous defenders and destroyers, and a lot of family stuff, and you'll get this suspense, drama and action packed reading filled with supernatural and natural family ties.
This is book 13 of Twisted Sisters' Midlife Maelstorm series. More is happening as magic is being threatened. The sisters have to find out what is happening, stop it, and deal with their normal lives all at once. This book kept me on the edge of my seat as reading it. OK, so book 13. Wow, this is really a great book. I feel like I say this all the time about this series but it’s like each one that seems to get better. And the jokes and the little puns and the funny little things they stick in it right in the middle of something that’s really scary is awesome. This one also made me cry. I don’t know if I cried before. This is a really good book.
Twisted Sisters are dealing with The Lost Legends in this story. Between the time distorting and mayhem, there is a lot to do to succeed. will they be able to solve the problem without tripping one of the many traps that are springing up?
This story is filled with amazing characters with an enthralling story line. Such a good story.

Mayhem, chaos, humour and excellent camaraderie as they work together no matter what is happening or going on! Loved it!
As always from this author another great book. I have followed the whole series and absolutely love the Six Twisted Sisters and their friends and colleagues. They are funny, tenacious and brilliant. f you haven't read any of these books I strongly recommend them. I have already pre-ordered book 14 and can't wait.
I just love her writing style and some of the sayings. Being from the South and spending so much time in New Orleans, I knew exactly where she was talking about. And Lord, the beignet fries!!!!! I am making those this weekend. :D NEVER would have thought of it.
Waiting on book 14 but, starting the Maine series until it is done.
Interesting story with some imaginative twists. Time travel/overlaps made for an interesting read. I could see the time twisting with some humorous results. While it was not too difficult to follow, I did find the constant switching POVs irritating. Otherwise, it was an entertaining book.

These sisters are so in tune with each other and their families. I love to see how they overcome all that is thrown at them. I have read all the series books so far and never fail to be entertained by their banter. Love this series!! can't wait to see what is next for the "sistras"!.

Love the Twisted Sisters series and this one did not disappoint!
The sisters are in the thick of it again. The story was amazing and the characters were wonderful. As always I was hooked from the very first page. Brenda Trim has a way of pulling you into a story and not letting you go until you realize you are at the end.
I love the Twisted Sisters because they are all over 40 going through changes and they still kick butt. The magic of New Orleans wreaks havoc over the city and the sisters have to put things back in order any way they can.
