Lost Paradise: The Savages of the Blue Lagoon

Rate this book
A plane crash. A cursed island. Six strangers with secrets—and zero survival skills.
This isn’t a love story. It’s a dark, chaotic, why-choose romance with bite.

A party that altered the course of their lives...

When their plane crashes, six unlikely survivors wake up on a remote island—alone, injured, and utterly unprepared. What began as punishment for a campus drug scandal becomes a desperate fight for survival, as dark secrets unravel, strange tribal threats close in, and something sinister stirs beneath the jungle canopy.

"I was born into Manhattan’s elite and enrolled at a prestigious Scottish institute to escape my family’s suffocating expectations. I didn’t expect a wild party, a drug raid, or to land in the Dean’s office with five strangers and one smugly attractive teaching assistant.

Our “punishment”? A humanitarian trip to Africa.
Our reality? A plane crash. An island that doesn’t want us to leave. And a danger far worse than the fall.

We are the Princess, the Criminal, the Athlete, the Brain, the Basket Case, and the TA. We’re damaged, dysfunctional, and definitely not equipped for survival. But if we don’t learn to trust each other—and fast—we’ll die here.

Or worse, we’ll vanish into the darkness that lives beneath the surface."

LOST PARADISE is a standalone new adult “why choose” with dark romance themes

A suspenseful, plot-driven survival story

Multiple POVs and full character arcs

Cross-Atlantic sass (British & American voices)

Emotionally messy characters, fast-paced intimacy, and no cliffhanger

This is not a slow-burn, nor a neatly polished story of perfectly rational people making grown-up choices. It’s fast. It’s chaotic. It’s driven by emotional wreckage.

If you love stories like Lost, The Blue Lagoon, or Outer Banks—but want more steam, more danger, and more edge—you’re in the right place.

⚠️ Contains mature themes, explicit content, dark humor, and poor decisions. Recommended for readers 18+. For trigger information, see the Author’s Notes or visit the author’s website.

The Breakfast Club + Lost + The Blue Lagoon = ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

The following ratings are out of 5:
Romance: 🩵🖤💜❤️
Heat/Steam: 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
Story/Plot: 📕📗📘📙
World building: 🌏🌍🌎🌏🌍
Character development: ☺️😆😎😚🥰

The heroine: Eve - The princess. she is a wealthy American, the daughter of a highly successful Manhattan businessman. She is used to being the queen of any school she attends, of her group of friends and socialites. However, this year she is the new girl at Hawthornes Valor Institute, an exclusive, private Scottish college. She lives in fear of returning to New York and being married off by her father to forge important business alliances. In the world she comes from, that is traditionally what is done with daughters to uphold the status and wealth of a family.

The Heroes: Jack - The basket case. He likes to watch people, get the lay of the land before deciding what to do and enacting his plans. He is also a talented hacker.
Astro - The criminal. He comes from the dark end of the East London underworld. His father, the leader of the Corinthian syndicate, whom Astro works for as much as any of his other lackeys, and when one of them slacks off, his father makes them pay, including his own son.
Zane - The athlete. He is a scholarship student from the United States and has come to train for the olympics. He came to Hawthornes Valor because of his skill in martial arts.
Byron - The brain. He is asian, and a scholar. He is “a two-time winner of the British Physics Olympiad AS Challenge and most recently won the BAAO Astrophysics competition and British Biology Olympiad.”
Mr. Coldwell - The teacher. He is an olympic gold medalist and is writing his master's thesis for his studies at Cambridge. Meanwhile he is working at Hawthornes Valor to set up their martial arts and fencing teams for the Olympic trials.

The Story: When Astro throws a party, complete with free drugs to give out in order to get new customers and the party is raided, he, Eve, Zane and Byron are caught by campus police. The next morning, they are summoned to the Dean’s office where Jack also joins them. The dean gives them a chance to fess up to whomever brought the drugs and when none of them do, he tells them they will be given another chance, but only after they pay their debt to society in the form of helping a village in Mozambique by building a water sewage system. Though the school’s private jet crash lands into the ocean and they end up stranded on a deserted island.

The book is written in first person point of view and there are chapters told in the point of view of each of the main characters. I like that we get a view into the minds of each of the characters. I also love the fact that each of the characters is different in various ways. The book classifies the main characters: a Brain, an Athlete, a Basket case, Princess, and a Criminal (later adding a Teacher), though the first five immediately made me think of The Breakfast Club. Like in that movie that they each are characterized as one thing but find that they all are much more than just that one label. There are other parallels to The Breakfast Club, such as the scene where everyone is sitting around telling each other about their not so perfect lives. There is a remarkably similar scene in this book, and we even find out that many of the revelations that come out in that scene have some huge similarities to the revelations that are told in TBC, also some of the dialogue is nearly straight out of the movie.

“Why are you being so nice to me?” I ask, a little surprised by his kind gesture. There's a playful glint in his eyes, hinting at a depth of character beneath his charming exterior. “Because you’re letting me.”

“You know I have just as many feelings as you do, and it hurts when someone steps all over them.”

“There will be two hits,” he declares cooly. “Me hitting you. You hitting the floor.”

“We’re all pretty bizarre,” Jack says, his voice calm and matter-of-fact. “Some of us are just better at hiding it; that’s all.”

Despite the somewhat tacky references to The Breakfast Club, a storyline reminiscent of both the TV show Lost and movie The Blue Lagoon, I found this book to be extremely interesting and compelling. There were also a few Lord of the Flies moments thrown in for good measure, and plenty of the steamy scenes you get in any reverse harem romance. I did like all the action and adventure, and I found the characters to be interesting and likable. I was very pleasantly surprised.

I voluntarily read & reviewed an advanced copy of this book. All thoughts & opinions are my own.

O.M.G!!!! I love, love this book!!! It took me a minute to connect the dots but yes!!! You took one of my favorite movies and made it into a spicy book!!! All I can say is I was panting and wanting more!!!! Ugh I’m gonna share this book with everyone cause it’s amazing!!!! Can I have more please?! Side note: LOST PARADISE is an MFMMMM dynamic (one female, multiple males, and the males are only involved with the female)? There is no cross-swording troope in this story.

The longest, most defensive author’s note I’ve ever read. I think this will either be a hot mess or terribly bland but I’m not sticking around to find out.

*BOOK REVIEW*

BOOK: Lost Paradise: the Savages of the Blue Lagoon
AUTHOR: Marian Andrew
REVIEW: This book gave me 80's movie vibes! When they say that this is like a spicy version of The Breakfast Club, they're not kidding. The book is a why a choose romance where there is one woman and multiple men and she has a relationship with them all. The men do not have a seggsual relationship with each other. The book follows Jack (the basket case), Astro (the criminal), Zane (the athlete), Eve (the princess), Byron (the brain), and Mr. Coldwell (the teacher). After being caught at a party where drugs were present, Eve, Byron, Astro, Zane, and Jack are sent to accompany Mr. Coldwell in Mozambique for two weeks to help with a humanitarian project. Things go wrong and they are left on an island after a plane crash. They must work together in order to survive! This book has it all, excitement, spice, romance, and did I mention cann!b@ls? I had a hard time putting this book down. It had me on the edge of my seat, and had scenes that had me laughing, anxious (in the best way), crying, and blushing! Byron is my favorite out of the men. I loved all of them, but I have a soft spot for nerdy men! The characters were all loveable and the way the men loved Eve, and protected Eve as well as each other was beautiful! They were truly a close knit family and it made me happy to see them find friendship and trust with each other, as well as the men finding love in Eve. I HIGHLY recommend this book, especially if your favorite movie is The Breakfast Club!

RATING: 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟/🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟

Ms. Andrews outdid herself with this one. This book took readers on a ride. Welcome to Hawthornes Valor. Four students receive a punishment to go to Africa to help build a water sewage system for the village. The teacher, Foster Caldwell; the criminal, Astro Doukas; the athlete, Zane Jones; the brain, Byron Harding; and the princess, Evelyn Winters, set out on the journey. A journey that did not turn out to be the punishment they signed up for. On the way, the plane crashed on a small tropical island. Stranded, the group learned to survive.

Despite the premise, this book is HOT. Eve knows what she wants and all of the guys here fit the bill in some way. She was not shy about her attraction to each of them. Some took longer to come around than others, but they all fall to the princess eventually. They discover that this island is more than just an uninhabited tropical island. They learn to survive on this island with what they find. Though the relationships developing between the group were interesting, there was still the fear that they might not get off the island.

This book will keep readers interested. Readers will grow to like and love these characters as they reveal who they really are. Five people from totally different backgrounds come together to survive. What a journey!

I've never read a bad Marian Andrew book!

Have you ever watched that old 2000's TV show Lost? Well this is that on crack and a 1000 times better. Reading the blurb I was already sold on this novel, forced proximity is one of my favourite romance tropes of all time and this really was forced proximity on another level! I loved the mix of personality's and character's that Marian gave us in this newest novel, the diversity from the nerd to the criminal to the princess made this an even more interesting read, as every character felt fresh and like their own individual person. I really enjoyed Eve as an fmc, she felt super relatable and through out this read I was rooting for her big time. As usual when it comes to these swoon worthy men that this author writes its hard for me to pick a favourite..... however I have to say Astro had me blushing whenever he was around.

When reading a book by Andrew's it's always an experience, her attention to detail is what really takes her novels to the next level. From her dedication to having beautiful artwork sprinkled through out the book to her personalised chapter headers, reading any of her novels is always a good time. Now this is a chunky book but trust me when I say its hard to put this down for even a second, the pacing was just amazing, you dive straight in on the action and each chapter just builds more and more tension between the characters that you just want to keep reading. I know ive been blabbing on about this book for a hot minute now but if you're a RH romance lover, hell a romance lover in general you're doing yourself a disservice if you don't pick this book up asap!

This book had an entertaining premise that immediately drew me in: a teacher and 5 college students stranded on a remote island. The setting sets the stage for an exploration of survival, temptation, and the breaking of societal norms. Very much Blue Lagoon vibes, except wayyyyyy steamier.

Love how Eve, the FMC, navigates her relationships with each of the 5 male characters. Each connection felt distinct and added depth to the story. The dynamics between them created a compelling tension that kept me engaged.

The spice in this reverse harem is off the charts - definitely a 5-star rating for the steamy scenes. While the book excelled in delivering heat, it sometimes prioritized these moments over plot development. I found myself wanting a bit more storyline to elevate the overall experience but it was an entertaining read and the writing was great.

If you're looking for an enticing escape with plenty of spice, you will love Lost Paradise!

The Breakfast club meets the blue lagoon, but RH style!!!
Jack, Astro, Zane, Byron, Mr Coldwell/Foster, and Eve. Were an unlikely group of strangers who became a family.

There was a bit of action, danger, humor throughout, lots of spice, and emotional times as well.

I honestly loved each of the characters. We see a lot of individual growth in each. My favorite parts were seeing them grow as a group though. They had to learn to work together to navigate the island and it's challenges. The steam was so hot. The lol moments had me cracking up. The developing bonds between them made me so happy.

I was definitely surprised with the ending, but I was totally satisfied with they way it did end!
I think this was another fantastic book by Marian!

I really tried to like this. But as I kept reading I just kept going in my head “it’s giving breakfast club meets flight 29 down”.

I greatly disliked how at the start of each chapter when it was changing POV it’d have that stupid little identifier for the character. Like we get it. Eve is a princess, etc etc. it just felt so cliche and like really? REALLY!?

The plot of them “being bad for getting caught at a party but not actually doing anything remotely wrong” was just kind of dumb. Like if they’d been in the act of taking drugs when caught, great. Love it. Would have understood the plot line more since that’s a bad thing and they should be punished.

Now for the island. Obviously I didn’t finish but I was wanting to rip my hair out. It was literally just sex and more sex. Like I get it it’s a reverse harem story but that does not mean the story line just gets to take a back seat.
This entire review has been hidden because of spoilers.

If you want all the 80's movie feels; this is the book for you. 2 of my favorite 80's movies were The Blue Lagoon and The Breakfast Club. Imagine if The Breakfast Club consisted of 1 female student and 5 other men. Like the classic tale we have: The Princess, The Jock, The Criminal, The Basket Case, The Brain and instead of the stern Principal; we have a hot young teacher.

This story had humor, conflict, angst, danger and so much spice. This story was a true testament of looking beyond appearances. Everyone in this rag tag group had preconceived notions about one another. They judged, humiliated, bullied and shunned each other constantly. Luckily fate had other plans.

A drug raid at a party literally altered the course of everybody's life. Instead of facing expulsion from their elite university: Eve (The Princess), Astro (The Criminal), Zane (The Jock), Jack (The Basket Case), Byron (The Brain) has been given the punishment of going to an African village to help install an irrigation system with Mr. Foster Coldwell as their advisor. It sounds like a good deal but to these entitled elitists it was anything but. When the plane they were traveling on crashes on a remote island the six survivors realize that they are all the same. There is no heiress or heir, future Olympian, future crime boss etc. No, they are all survivors and prisoners on an undisclosed island and their very survival depends on putting aside their differences and working together.

The author did a great job describing the scenery of the beautiful island, the wildlife, the ocean, the dangers etc. Eve and the guys still had their differences to overcome but after being stranded for a few days they realize that they had much bigger problems than their differences when they discover a hostile, cannibalistic tribe residing in the shadows waiting for the opportunity to strike. Every character in this story had some growing pains but they also had an opportunity to establish new relationships and build a better family than the ones they each came from.

Eve was one lucky young lady. Not only did she have 5 hot men pinning for her, but she also had a good head on her shoulders and no matter the circumstance she remained steadfast in keeping their little tribe safe and together. There was oftentimes when the men of the group bumped heads, but Eve would always intervene and pull everyone together.

This story was one of personal growth, looking beyond the surface and building a family that far surpassed anything they ever imagined. It was a hard, long journey. Six survivors with nothing but the clothes on their back; learning to survive in the most primate way known to man. Things such as toilet paper, toothpaste, soap, razors, sanitary napkins, deodorant were things of the past and Eve and her men learned to adapt and make due with what little they had.

A fight for survival and a fight for a new way of life. A life that is no longer dictated by their families and social circles but a life where they forge their own path together; creating the type of family with those who understand their struggles and desires to belong to the ones who not only protect one another but love each other as well.

The Breakfast Club meets the Blue Lagoon and its extra spicy!!

5 elite college students, from privileged backgrounds, get arrested at an off campus party, and their punishment is to be sent over seas to help in a humanitarian project for orientation. After setting off, the flight crashes leaving all 5 students and a teacher (he’s more like a teaching aid/coach who’s only like 24 yrs old) stranded on a deserted island.
You have Evelyn (Eve) the princess, Zane the athlete, Byron the brain, Astro the criminal, Jack the basket case, and Foster the “teacher”. No ones knows where they are or if they’ll be rescued. Their societal titles and external masks are quickly shed as the group “comes” together, in more ways than one, as a team to survive and hopefully find a way off the island. It’s just Eve (the irony of this name was not lost) and five deliciously gorgeous men who are obsessed with her, alone on this island. Or so they thought, until they come across the natives, who also happen to be cannibals. And if this didn’t motivate them to get off the island quicker, they also stumble upon a mysteriously abandoned Cold War era laboratory that looks to have been used for potential human experimentation. All in all, the plot is there and spice delivered. Reverse harem told from every characters POV. The scenery details give you the Blue Lagoon movie ambiance as this is where a majority of connections are made on the island. And there’s lots of breakfast club references, from the character identities to Eve doing the lipstick trick, and even at the end when the essay reads in the same style as the movie. Both are great movies that I’m love and I loved this mashup take on the characters. The only negative I had was that the writing wasn’t very good in my opinion, specifically the dialog between characters. I just found some of the conversations to be cringey. But overall, still loved this book.

Lost Paradise by Marian Andrew delivers a deliciously spicey why choose romance. The perfect standalone book for a quick read and no cliff hanger!

Rich with banter, angst, and plenty of spice, you find yourself hooked from the very beginning!

The Manhattan Princess.
The Teacher.
The Brain.
The Athlete.
The Basket case.
The Criminal.

When a campus party goes wrong the 6 of them are sent away as punishment, on a volunteer mission.. On the way their plane crashes near mysterious island filled with danger and secrets worth killing to keep buried. They must do all they can to survive the dangers that lurk on the island and amongst themselves.
Each from well known families and their own complex lives, they soon find they have a lot more in common than they thought... possibly more than they ever imagined....

and Eve finds herself right in the middle.

Being the only female, Eve soon starts falling in love with each of the men stranded on the island with her. Each relationship a perfect puzzle piece that keeps their group together and surviving. The longer they spend stranded on the island the more they shed society's rules and give into their desires.
and there is plenty to be desired.

Will the secrets of the island put them in danger? Will they ever be rescued? IF they survive will they continue the new bonds they have forged with each other or forget everything and go back to life was before the plane crash?

I loved this story and learning about each of the characters. I felt like at time the emotions portrayed were more so lustful than the other “L” word that was tossed around. That word and emotions would have more effective dropped like a bomb later on in the story between the characters than during first encounters. Over all the book was a great rad though and the ending was perfectly done!

I have to admit I've never seen The Breakfast Club, so I can't comment on the similarities between the film and this contemporary standalone. Still, the whole concept of six people, all from an entirely different walk of life and thrown together in a forced proximity situation intrigued me. There are definitely some issues to resolve between all of these characters once they end up on an island in the middle of the ocean. I just don't think the spicy ways of solving conflict were inspired by the film (unless we throw in some inspiration from Emanuelle as well...).

What I personally loved most about this book, are the similarities with the series Lost. There were some scenes in this book that truly got my heart pumping (I'm talking action scenes here, although there were plenty of spicy scenes that got the blood flowing as well). It actually made me consider watching the series a second time. Even though this is a pretty thick book, it still feels like the author had to cut back a little on the character building in favor of plot and spice. I'm not truly bothered by it, personally, but it might be good to know this before starting. Because of it, the relationship building felt a little rushed at times as well, although it does make sense within the story. All in all, I believe the author made the right choices for the story, it just might depend a little on what you're looking for in a book.

This book follows six survivors from a plane crash who are now stuck on an island where there are dark secrets. I read Fallen Princess by the author which I also really loved and liked the fact her writing style didn’t change for this one. The storyline was amazing and I loved the multiple povs. There is also artwork in this book which helps seeing the characters visually. The pacing is perfect (more on the fast side) with lots of island conflicts. This book is told from 6 povs: Eve, Jack, Astro, Zane, Byron, and Mr. Coldwell.

Eve is the FMC of the story and I enjoyed her character. She knows what she wants and was a strong character. Then we have the guys. I won’t get much into them but I can say that Mr. Coldwell and Astro were the main leads of the story. I felt the others were more side men between these two which was fine with me. They love Eve and I loved seeing them fight for her attention. There aren’t any other characters except some in the beginning and then towards the end. The romance is a reverse harem where there are variety of tropes and spice.

The ending was great and overall I really enjoyed this book. I read this fairly quicky and I loved this book a lot more than Fallen Princess. It’s very Lord of the Flies aspect but instead there is one girl. I recommend checking this book out as you don’t want to miss out.

Losing Who They Were & Becoming Who They Were Meant To Be

An intense, sexy, wild, chaotic, emotional experience that will leave you breathless. It gave strong Lost / Survivor & Breakfast Club vibes, but it also made me think of the classic Swiss Family Robinson, probably because of the way the group came together to create their own version of a family amidst such harsh & unforgiving circumstances. Marian is so gifted at drawing such elaborate pictures & images with her words, and you can’t help but be drawn into the story, as well as captivated by the diverse cast of characters she introduces you to. I was captivated from the very beginning, and had no choice but to see it through to the very end because I needed to know what happened to Eve & all her guys. They went through something that healed parts of themselves they didn’t even realize were broken, as well as parts that were so glaringly obvious they were like spotlights in the darkness. Watching them go through such a raw, emotional journey was not at all what I was expecting, and I couldn’t be more happy with that because it made for such a thought provoking experience. Please don’t hesitate to grab this amazing book. It will take you on a journey better than any movie you could watch, and will leave you wanting more from Marian & the characters she made you fall in love with ❤️

Interesting book

Rate: ⭐⭐⭐⭐
Spice: 🌶️🌶️🌶️ 🌶️

Okay.... So, initially it took a second for this book to get my attention, but once it did, I really enjoyed it. With this being my first time reading a book by Marian Andrews, I didn't want to just to conclusions, but am glad that I stuck around to finish it.

Essentially, this book gives Breakfast Club with Blue Lagoon vibes, but RH and steamy, which made it good. I'm not much of a new adult book reader, but have been giving them more of a shot, and this story didn't miss with being a hit. I liked that all of the characters were realistic and I could see how they looked as I read more of the book, the scenes that were depicted, and I even found myself feeling the emotions that they felt, too, at a time or two. I absolutely loved that as a young FMC Eve knew what she wanted. Some of the MMCs got on my nerves for a bit, but that's because I'm the type of female reader that always roots for the string FMC lol, but I liked that each and every one of them seemed to fit Eve perfectly at a different capacity. The idea that they all were stranded on an island and have to navigate the different dynamics was really good, but I did wish a time or two that we got more plot or connection between the characters, versus steam.... But don't let that dissuade you from reading this, because this is such a good book.

This is a book that truly immerses you in a world of emotional depth and intricate storytelling. The author expertly crafts a narrative that explores the complexities of human relationships and the profound impact of love. The characters in the story are not just names on a page; they are deeply developed individuals with their own struggles, desires, and secrets that add layers of complexity to the plot. The things they have to go through together, people that wouldn’t usually mix are forced together in a cruel twist of fate and have to survive on an island full of secrets.

One of the standout features is the way the author seamlessly combines suspense, emotion, and human connection throughout the story. The plot twists are expertly executed, which left me gasping, smiling, fuming and loads of other emotions. It really keeps you on the edge of your seat.

It’s a reverse harem, so of course there’s a boat load of smut, and it is spicyyyy. So if you’re a fan of smut, I’d definitely recommend, but the whole story is incredible too, the survival aspect, the romance, the suspense, all of it is so so good.

This book is full of character development and storytelling. Not only does it entertain but also provokes thought on deeper themes of human nature and the fragility of trust.

This is one of those books that you need to somewhat put aside your idea of reality. For example, in what world would a college send you on a private plane to another country to do community service because you happened to be at a party where drugs were being sold despite your drug test being completely clean. Also, the 6 inexperienced people survive the crash, but the 2 pilots don’t?? Other than that, I really liked the story. I completely wasn’t expecting the twist that happened in the middle of the book as the group found out more about the island that they were stranded on. This is a dark romance so there are some dark themes but I was relieved that the somewhat awkwardness of Byron’s first time and Eve being stressed about getting her period on an island with no supplies were handled well. At first, I didn’t like any of the male main characters (5 of them) but by the end they grew on me and Byron and Zane were easily my favourites. This is a standalone with a happy ending which was cute.

Thank you so much to the author, Netgalley and MA Crown Ink Publishing for providing me with a free arc in return for an honest review. All thoughts expressed here are my own.

Eeeek this book was amazing!
I haven’t read one like this before and honestly being stranded on an island with five swoon worthy men sounds so good right now.

I love Marian’s writing. I was hooked from the start and I loved all the characters. I love how the guys were so different from each other. Each had such a different personality, they had their strengths and were battling their own demons. I loved Eve too, a strong fmc and so sweet!

The strength in this book was great. I loved the growth and seeing everyone together. The plot was great, there’s some twists…and the spice!?! WOW talk about intense. I loved it.

This is a favorite read this year for sure! If you want a why choose, an emotional journey with lots of spice..pick this one up!

Spice 🌶️🌶️🌶️

Eve was sent to a school as a her last resort by her parents. First thing she gets caught in a raid at a college party. As punishment she and the others are sent to volunteer, but the plane crashes on a deserted island. Eve is now stuck with Byron, Jack, Foster, Zane and Astro. Soon she is the queen of their world but are they really alone and who or what else has been on that island.

There is major breakfast club reference which I love! And the guys really make Eve their world. It’s a great read.

A great found family and creating the family you want read! LOST PARADISE is an MFMMMM dynamic (no ⚔️)

This story is about six people from a college who embark on a journey to Africa for a humanitarian project. Only their plane crashes in the ocean and they end up trying g to survive on an island in the middle of the ocean. This novel gives off Breakfast Club vibes because each of the six characters have very different personalities and roles. But they are forced to come together to survive. This is a why choose book and there are multiple first person points of view from many characters. I like that because I enjoy getting into the head of each character. This is my first book by this author and I really liked her writing style. Added bonus, this book is super spicy! With one woman and five men the sexual tension is phenomenal.

⭐ 3.5 - 4

I picked the book because I saw in the description : a plane crash, people stranded on an island with cannibals and that was enough for me.

The spice came as a surprise as I was unfamiliar with the author and I haven't read any details before diving into the book.
🌶️ - ⭐ 5
The guys were different, each had charming features. On that point, the diversity was very welcomed.
Eve was a strong character, I liked the fact that she and actually all of them embraced they true selves.

It was a fun book, easy to read.
Could it have been better?
Yes ...
Do I regret reading it?
No.
Not my usual read, but I am glad I stumbled upon this book.
If I am ever in the mood for a similar vibe, I will definitely explore other books from the author.

needs a plot and editing

This story needs heavy editing and an actual plot. It is written to be a mashup of the breakfast club meets blue lagoon but doesn’t really translate and comes out extremely juvenile. The story lacks any depth and the characters are all surface level. Two walk around a dangerous island alone exploring with the risk of being captured by cannibals for drugs. (Also a huge plot hole how did they know to risk their lives to find dugs? As they are stranded on this island for getting caught at a party that had drugs but were all clean and sober after being tested but still punished) the author claims the book is more plot than spice but I could not find it. This book also need a round of heavy editing. There are so many errors.

What another amazing story from Marian Andrew
🤩🤩🤩🤩🤩

5 teenagers from different parts of the world are set to join a new college….Hawthorne Valor

The Basket Case, The Criminal, The Athlete, The Princess and The Brain 😜🥵😜🥵

Somehow they’re all ‘caught’ by the campus police in a ‘right place’ ‘wrong time’ situation and are sent to be reprimanded by their principal Mr Carmichael

They all have to go to Mozambique to help a small village and accompanying them will be Mr Coldwell the young teacher 😮‍💨🤤🤤🤤

BUT………….will they make it or will it be a fight for survival????

This book is absolutely AMAZING and needs to be read now!!!!!!!!

The 🥵 scenes are H🥵O😜T🤤

Well I don’t really know where to begin with this review but I will say this book was brilliant, it had plot, was well written and more than a sprinkling of spicy times! The characters were interesting and they all had their own individual personalities and stories that helped you to understand them and their behaviour. As you dove into their world and seeing how they all grew and adapted to what life threw at them you can’t help but fall in love with them. They definitely hooked me in and had me desperate to see what happened next. If you liked lost then this book is for you, it has elements of that with great world building and story to keep you interested. Brilliant read!

Even though I was born in the mid-80’s, I still fell in love with that movie, The Blue Lagoon when I was old enough to watch it. And this book gives me all those vibes again.
When their plane comes crashing down on a remote island, there are only 5 survivors: Eve, Jack, Zane, Astro, Foster and Byron. They have to find a way to survive and work together. That also means to overcome everything that was part of their lives before the crash.
I’ve become quite the fan by Miss Andrew’s why choose romances, and that is no different with this book.
So, if you’ve loved watching The Blue Lagoon and/or Lost, you will definitely love this book.

An island with no escape, a deadly tribe nearby, and a mysterious forcefield trapping everyone inside—this is survival at its most intense. The danger is constant, the heat is high (in more ways than one), and the stakes never stop climbing.

What sets this apart? The characters. They start off as messy, immature college kids and slowly transform into people you genuinely care about. Each arc hits hard, and the emotional payoff is real. The romance is steamy, the drama hits that perfect new adult vibe, and the ending is unexpectedly touching.

Perfect if you’re into thrillers that balance grit, heart, and heat.

With character descriptions based around those in the Breakfast Club, Princess, Brain, Criminal etc and I love that film so, so much, with a large helping of Lost, also love that show!
The whole story is larger than life and the writing was so good that I felt like I was on the island with them. There are so many threats from within the group and the Island itself which is off the scale. I just couldn't work out how Marian was going to make a satisfying ending from it all, but manage it she did. I was so happy with how everything worked out.
Five star read!

Eve is sent to attend far from home. Eve and her brand of misfits end up on a flight for a mission sort of trip after being cause at a party they should not have been at. On the way their plane crashes and they end up on a strange island. What comes next is a whirlwind of dangers, sexy times, and crazy. How long will they be stranded? Will they ever get off the island? Does everyone survive? Where do they go after it is all said and done? What will become of "the brain, the athlete, a basketcase, a princess, a criminal and a teacher" Read to find out.
