I tried y'all. I really did. The premise was unique and I wanted to give this a go but it got unbearable after a point. So to spare myself the unnecessary torture, I'm DNFing this😕 The whole "dAdDy🤪" shtick gave me the ICK ngl🤢 And the fact that Sully was supposed to be this sexy and obsessed retired NHL player? Nah, more like an immature and selfish manchild. I'm seriously pissed in case you haven't noticed lol😆

---> OH HELL NO. This quote made me PHYSICALLY ILL. I had had it up to this point and was giving Sully the benefit of the doubt because okay, he seemed like he wasn't interested in the other women and would probably secretly tell them that his heart already belonged to someone else. But then we get this scene. This turned me off so bad that I'm not even bothered to see what happens after this and how he's going to defend his behavior. This book has officially tested my patience😭

Kendra is a young reality tv producer who approached Sully with an offer to be the bachelor on her reality show. Sully though , has zero interest in being on the show. Sully,instead focuses all of his interest on Kendra. As an alternative Sully is offered a position as the head coach for an all women’s hockey team.There is catch ,he will have to be on a reality show documenting his new coaching position as well his dating life. The kicker in all this …Kendra’s the producer, who can’t mix business with pleasure. Can Sully work professionally with his perfect 10?

Sloane knocked this one out with excellent banter, loads of tension, and hot AF spice. This would wouldn’t be a Sloane St.James book without some new kinks. She has become the queen of unlocking new kinks . The girls on the hockey team are all amazing characters. I’m hoping to see more from them in this series. Especially Joey…she reminds me of Mickey.

Coach Sully was amazing when I read it back in August. Y’all…HOLY MOLY! When you listen ,it’s elevated to a much higher level! Just as I thought Sully couldn’t get hotter, Christian Fox came and brought him to life. Phew! I’m fanning myself just thinking about it. Shani Micheals as Kendra was chef’s kiss perfection. The cast nailed their performance. They both brought out the sexy in this audiobook.

Romance is safe since they were into each other since meeting specially Sully as he is also the main pursuer, obsessive, possessive and was dead set on being with Kendra no matter what.

I’m so excited to finally get Sully’s story. It was so good, I couldn’t put it down. Kendra and Sully has crazy chemistry right from the beginning, and I was rooting for them throughout the whole book. Sully is literally the sweetest book boyfriend ever. Holy H.E.🏒🏒 this book was FIRE! I don't even know where to start with this one! First of all, the writing is fracking fantastic. I've been following Sloane St. James since her first book; she started off great, but her writing is really next-level at this point. Great storyline - it starts off with a bang and just doesn't let up for the entirety of the book. The banter is top-notch and had me literally laughing out loud on multiple occasions. But really, it's the characters that hook you and keep you there; you just get so invested in their outcomes. I've wanted a "Daddy" Sully book since he was first introduced, and Sloane certainly delivered everything I was hoping for and then some. He is a protector and a nurturer and was all-in from the beginning. I LOVED Kendra for him. She brightened his life, was driven, and full of sass and snark. The chemistry between them was off the chain from the first glance, and their smexy times should come with a warning. Absolute fire. I am so excited for this new series and the introduction of the girls on the team made me that much more excited for what's to come. This book is definitely going in my Best of 2024 pile - HIGHLY recommend!

мене підкупила цікава анотація та тропи, але виявилося не моє. єдине, що з тропом випадкової вагітності мені було весь час цікаво, коли ж це станеться, як вони дізнаються і яка реакція відповідно. Саллі поводив себе, як справжній чоловік. і мені подобається хід його думок, але сама Кендра постійно тормозила його, допоки він все не взяв у свої руки (слава Богу). і той факт, що велика різниця у віці головних героїв, не завадив. все було комфортно. але от ситуація, в якій вони опинилися – дратувала. зацикленість на кар'єрі і на шоу, коли вже вирішила зберегти таки дитину. і все ж потім це вийшло на краще. не те щоб книжка погана, але мені просто не підійшло. у мене було занадто багато думок про те, коли ж я вже дочитаю.

Sully has been such a highly anticipated character for me and I was so excited to have the privilege of working with Sloane again on his book! I was so obsessed with these two, SO invested in them individually and together and I just loved them so much.

I’ve loved Sully since ‘Before we came’ and he just blew me away. He’s like a cross between Barrett and Banksy, the ultimate “Daddy” turned “Daddy”. He fell so hard and fast for Kendra, I loved his protective, caretaking nature as well as his filthy mouth! Also so obsessed with Kendra, she’s one of my favourite Sloane FMCs. She was so driven and sassy. I loved this about her. Her and Sully had insane chemistry, they tried so hard to play by the rules. They were incredibly supportive of each other, and I loved how their happy ending played out.

There were so many special moments in this book and I know the blood, sweat and tears that went into this book. I’m so excited to see where Sloane takes these Rogue girls, and hopefully catch more glimpses of Sully and Kendra!

Updating my review after listening to the ALC/audiobook and SHEESH I loved it so much! It is duet narration with J. Shani Michaels and Christian Fox as the narrators and they do an amazing job! They sounded exactly like I imagined when I first read this book and it was so easy to listen to. And Sully's filthy mouth is absolutely perfect in audio!

Everything about Sully had me falling in love with him even more! Sloane, this was literally everything I could have hoped for in his book!! The minute this ARC dropped into my email, I knew I’d be reading it in one sitting! Sully & Kendra’s storyline is so good and the tension, the spice, the f**king daddy kink - sheeesshhhh it was HOT 🥵. Sully has a filthy mouth and is so deliciously perfect! But all the sweet little gestures he does for Kendra had me swooning even harder! They are so perfect together!

I’m so excited to see where this new series takes us with the women’s hockey team, The Rogues!

I forgot about how much I hated the over the top forcing her to eat/her only eating protein bars 🙄

I do not believe this was written by the same author as the lakes series. Did she have a ghost writer? Truly absurd book. Laughably bad. I don’t want to yuck someone’s yum but the milk fetish. Need a trigger warning 🤣accidental pregnancy after tubes tied?! Grandma with late onset CF?! The note at the beginning was also so cringy.

This is the kind of book you force a friend to read so you aren’t alone in wondering what you just read

Кендра - продюсерка реаліті-шоу про кохання, яка в пошуках головного героя і її вибір падає на Саллі. На першій зустрічі між героями спалахує пристрасть, що приводить до спільної ночі разом. Згодом, обставини складаються так, що Саллі змушений погодитися взяти участь в шоу Кендри. Але чоловік не втрачає надії побудувати стосунки з Кнндрою, і не має ніякого бажання шукати кохання на проекті і зустрічатися з іншими жінками. І тут стається сюрпрайз, сюрпрайз - Кендра виявляється вагітною

Книга дуже легко і швидко читається. 
Стосунки головних героїв - здорові, комфортні і дуже пристрасні.
Мені сподобалося, шо вони з повагою ставилися до амбіцій один одного, намагалися, щоб їхні стосунки не нашкодили їхній кар'єрі, були чесними і відкритими один з одним.

Сподобалося, який Саллі турботливий, ніжний і опікуючий. Він чоловік, який несе відповідальність за свої дії, який бере ситуації в свої руки і розрулює її, на якого завжди можна покластися.

Також книга піднімає важливі питання нерівності чоловіків та жінок та расової дискримінації.

Але, мені не вистачило глибини, якогось емоційного зв'язку між героями. Було дуже багато сцен 18+, от прям багато, і не скажу, що вони мені сподобалися (все зруйнували його плювки😂) Але кінки у них цікаві😂

Це не та книжка, яка чимось запам'ятовується і яку захочеться перечитувати. Так, було цікаво, але дуже посередньо. І герої не дратували, і тупої драми не було, книга просто не вразила. Прочитала і завтра забуду про неї.

I’ve changed my rating to 4.5🌟 the more I thought about it and went back through my highlights I realised this needed to be rated higher.

Coach Sully has entered the building, HELLO DADDY!

From that first interaction both Kendra and Sully had me eating out of the palm of their hand. Spice at 8%? Thank you Sloane, thank you 🙏🏼 phenomenal as always.
You don’t like a certain trope/micro trope? I can 100% guarantee Sloane will get you to change your tune.

These characters were just everything and more! Kendra is so driven and smart and just brilliant! Sully is passionate, caring, giving and so dirty delicious 🤤 he only has eyes for Kendra which makes the filming of the reality show about him a struggle because he needs her more than air, but the show is putting a barrier between them.
And once they find out their worlds are going to be changing and he goes into protective dad mode.. argh I can’t fault him. The hair washing scene will have you swooning!
He puts Kendra and their baby above all regardless of what the consequences may be!

I loved we got a good amount of Barrett and Raleigh, they are my favourites from the Lakes Hockey series!
There are so many good characters introduced in this book which makes the build up to the rest of the series so freaking exciting! I can’t wait for what’s next!

This story has the biggest age gap I've read, and it just kinda grossed me out. Guess that much of an age difference is not my thing! It felt like their connection was so rushed - definitely insta love with Sully. I felt like there was no build up, he was just obsessed with this 23 year old who was supposed to be so skilled at her job and had been working "for years" when in reality for her age, she had just graduated college. Also, as a Healthcare professional, she should have went to Labor and Delivery for her scare with how far along she was, not the ER. Just rubbed me the wrong way due to lack of accuracy. I was also surprised Sloane didn't write about anything regarding her pregnancy and racism, especially after the book Preface. According to a study in 2021, Black women in the United States had a fetal mortality rate of 9.89 per 1,000, which was higher than the national rate of 5.74 per 1,000 - - almost TWICE as likely due to lack of quality medical care. Just felt like this book missed the mark for me. Sully was hot though 🤷‍♀️🔥

idk this just couldn’t really keep my attention. i wasn’t that invested in the characters, their relationship, or the drama. i wish i could offer more solution based critiques for the issues i had with this but in all honesty it really was just ~meh~

i still love sloane st james but this just lacked the depth of some of her other novels

🎯 My Thoughts:

Coach Sully is a spinoff of the Lakes Hockey series, but fits seamlessly with the themes in those book. While I enjoyed it overall, it didn’t quite hit the same high note for me as the other books. Sloane St. James continues to deliver unique plotlines and interesting characters, but her execution sometimes falls short for me—particularly when the length and frequency of the spice scenes start to overshadow the actual story (and this is coming from someone who enjoys spice).

That said, I really loved the reality TV angle, which felt fresh and different, and learning more about Kendra, especially her reasoning behind tying her tubes, added emotional depth. The age-gap romance worked for me, and Sully being completely gone for Kendra was a highlight, even if the pet name “baby girl” wasn’t my favorite. I just wish there had been more yearning and tension to really elevate their connection.

Would I Recommend:? Maybe. If you enjoyed other books by this author, or are ovulating… you might enjoy this. If not, I might say to skip.

The accidental pregnancy trope is one of my least favorites to read, but when it's done right it can be fantastic. Sloane has done it right and I could not put this book down. I haven't read a book from Sloane that I haven't loved. Coach Sully is the first book of the Rogues Hockey series. I have been looking forward to Sully's book since the beginning and this was everything, I hoped it would be.

Sully is a retired NHL player that is tired of the dating scene. He has watched all of his friends fall in love and find their "person" and he wanted that more than anything. Kendra approached him about being on her reality dating show, but he adamantly refused. He was looking for real love and he doesn't like having his personal life in the spotlight. Once the show was off the table, he found himself drawn to Kendra and they'd hit it off. She was the first woman to capture his attention in a long time. He felt something special with her and did not want to let her go. One night was never going to be enough for him and nothing would stand in his way.

Kendra is a young producer for a media company, and she's been trying to make a name for herself. After Sully refused the reality dating show, her boss came up with another show idea and made Sully an offer he could not refuse. The new contract made their relationship totally off limits and made Sully the new coach of a professional womans hockey team. Kendra tried to keep things professional, but Sully was determined in his pursuit of her. Their secret affair led to Kendra's pregnancy & a lot of complications arose. Sully only has eyes for Kendra, and he will do anything to protect her and their baby.

I loved Sully's persistent pursuit of Kendra. He was honest with her and showed his affection for her openly and often. I didn't love the secrecy from Kendra because Sully had been so kind and open with her, but I could see why she feared telling him the truth. I really enjoyed the dynamic between Kendra and Sully, and I loved that we got to see characters from the Lakes Hockey series!

Thank you to Sloane and Team for an ALC. this audio just reminded of all the things I loved about this book. Christian Fox did a phenomenal job as Coach Sully. He is definitely climbing my rankings of one of my favorite male narrators. Every book I have listened to by him I have enjoyed.
J Shani Michaels is a new narrator to me and I absolutely loved hearing her bring to life Kendra. I think these two were the perfect match and so glad I did a reread via audio. Highly recommend.

I have been highly anticipating Sully’s story since the beginning and Sloane did not let me down. I read this in one sitting and could not put this down. I am obsessed with these two. They had crazy chemistry since the beginning. Every interaction they had I was grinning so big. I just love them! I will say that if you have read the Lakes series this one is a lot different than that series, but still has all the same great writing and story-telling that I have come to expect from Sloane.

This story follows Sully and Kendra. Sully is recently retired from the NHL and Kendra is trying to get her big break as a TV producer. She has a dating show she is pitching but after the main guy drops out she tries to get Sully to fill the role. After some sly contract work that does not involve Kendra, Sully is the star of his own reality TV show.

AHH!! Where do I even begin with Sully. He falls fast and hard for Kendra and I love how he immediate turned into a golden retriever for her. He was soo swoony he had me giggling and kicking my feet. Not to mention the panty melting words that would come out of his mouth! PHEW!!! He is such a DADDY and it was delicious.
Him and Kendra had insane chemistry. He was so supportive of her and what she wanted and supported her in every way!
Loved seeing Sully transition from player to coach. Loved seeing the Rogues women’s hockey team. It makes me so excited for all of their stories.

Wow. I’ll start off by saying the spice between these two was so good! They were hot! 🔥
And what a little treat from Sloane to have this start at 9% in!

This story follows Kendra Ames (a film producer) and Lee ‘Sully’ Sullivan (retired Lakes Ice Hockey captain). They meet because Kendra needs a new star for her dating show and Lee just happens to be a hot. single. absolute stud of a man.

Of course, in true Sloane fashion… we get treated to a hot, steamy, one night stand. Here comes “Yes, Daddy” and “Harder, Daddy” 🫦

“Almost, baby. Give your daddy one more …” 🥵

However, with Kendra’s job’s strict “non-fraternising” policy. It was supposed to end there…

I won’t share too much more of the storyline but I will say the story ends in a beautiful HEA.

I literally devoured this book within hours. Sloane’s books get better and better. The story and the chemistry between Sully and Kendra was off the charts. Also the spice was realllly spicing in this book! She notches it right up with every book she writes. It was also a great introduction to professional women’s hockey and I enjoyed that aspect of the book and the insights into it. I’m looking forward to the upcoming books in this series! I loved the Lakes Hockey Series so I knew I would enjoy this series too. The characters had depth, the banter was on point, and the spice was spicing. I am not normally a "daddy" person, it's weird to me (not to yuck anyone's yum, just not for me) but weirdly, the way Sloane St James writes, it makes these cringy tropes, just... well they are just not cringy. I can't explain it. I enjoyed the parts that pointed out the inequalities by the male characters as well as when the feminism goes out the door in the bedroom scenes. BIG fan. HUGE.

All and all, I didn't expect to be so enamored with Sully, I liked him, but the dominant side had me in a CHOKEHOLD. Who knew Sully had a switch. Actually.... We knew. I knew. It's always the quiet ones.

This book is easily a 4.75 star read. I was in a book hangover and this FINALLY got me out of my head. Will it be one that I constantly reread, maybe? I will definitely recommend it to people. Nice plot, good laughs, comforting type of book.

Looking forward to the next books, especially following Joey. She is a TRIP.

If the goal of this book was to make me fall completely in love with Sully, then mission accomplished. We all asked for Sully's story, and it absolutely did not disappoint. I am a sucker for sports romance stories, but add in an age gap and a filthy-talking MMC...I'll cancel all of my plans to read it. I devoured this story and could not get enough of Sully and Kendra.

We met Lee “Sully” Sullivan in the Lakes Hockey series. He is now living a retired (and lonely) life. Enter Kendra Ames. She is a reality dating show producer and is looking for a new bachelor. When they meet, sparks fly, and they spend an amazing night together. Does Sully want to be on a reality dating show where he has to spend time with other women? Nope. He would rather spend his time with Kendra. When Sully is told an opportunity to be the coach of a new women's hockey team is tied to his participation in the show, he decides to go with it. His plan? Once the show is over, he's going back to Kendra.

Sloane SLAYED! This story is so good! Sully and Kendra's chemistry was palpable, and I loved them together. From their first meeting, I was LOCKED IN. Kendra is strong, independent, driven, smart, young, and trying to make a name for herself in a tough industry. I love that Kendra is an old soul. Sully is absolute perfection. He is passionate, caring, observant, and sweet. The mouth on this man! Whew! He fell hard for Kendra, and I ate it up. The way he took care of her made me melt. I loved how he didn't run away when their lives changed. He stepped up and was ready to take on the new responsibilities. He made his family a priority. I didn't know I would love Sully so much, but I am now obsessed. Daddy Sully, indeed. I loved the dynamic between Sully and Kendra and rooted so hard for them.

This book is a great start to the new Rogues Hockey series. It has diverse characters and a great balance of tension and romance. I look forward to reading more about this new women's hockey team and getting to know the characters in this series.

Let’s start with the need to know, shall we? Lee Sullivan is a god. This man is absolute perfection. Are you looking for an MC who is kind, caring, sweet, filthy, dirty, gritty, passionate, and just all round hilarious and delicious? He was made for you. Made for us.

We know Sully from the Lakes Hockey Series, he’s since retired from hockey, and is living his lonely retired life when he’s asked (forced) to do a reality show of his new adventure coaching the newly formed women’s hockey team, the Minnesota Rogues.

The problem is, he only has eyes for one woman, Kendra Ames, and he doesn’t want to even pretend to date anyone else, because once all this is over? He’s coming back for her.

Kendra is brilliant. She’s young, but she’s smart, driven, and I really loved seeing her take care of business. She knows what she wants, and he goes after it! Even after finding out her world (and Sully’s) is about to change forever. Does she give up her career, or does she keep this secret for as long as possible to save them both the heartache of having to choose?

Back to Sully.. I will never stop talking about this man. He LEARNS HOW TO WASH HER HAIR FOR HER. HE WATCHES A YOUTUBE VIDEO SO HE CAN DO IT RIGHT. Seriously 🤯🥹 sweetheart. And yes, he’s “Daddy” but he’s also the best Dad. I swoon so hard for a man who loves his family with everything he is and puts them above all.

Sloane, she changed the Accidental Pregnancy Trope for me with this one. If they were all like this? Well, sign me up! Because this book was everything I could have asked for. I had no idea I would end up loving them as much as I did.

I wish I could have recorded the audio of my squeal when I got this ARC email - after absolutely devouring Stand and Defend in less than 24 hours I was desperate for my next Sloane St James fix! Our NICU’s Summer of Smut book club went a little feral over the entire Lakes Hockey Series so I couldn’t open this book fast enough.

This was so much fun - the spice is fantastic, there is an age-gap, a forbidden romance and accidental pregnancy tropes - with a little reality TV twist. There are little glimpses of former Lakes Hockey characters and I also really loved the female hockey team and getting to know those players a little bit. Kendra was such a badass main character and I loved her insistence that a woman can be a mother AND also have a successful career. Sully was was more than I could have imagined - falling first and falling HARD and I couldn’t get enough of the possessiveness 🥵

I CANNOT wait for the rest of this series and really hope we see more of the Rogues hockey team - hoping for some more of Joey, Delta (IYKYK) & Cori!
