Sizzling-hot and seriously funny. Who said your forties couldn’t be both?
There are three rules for a post-divorce rebound:
1. Choose someone you won’t ever see again. 2. Don’t let your nosy mother invite him over for a family dinner. 3. Do not, under any circumstances, fall in love.
Single mother of two, Katrina Viceroy, should really, really follow the rules, but when leather-clad motorcycle hunk, Mac Blair, walks into her life (and her bed), she knows she’s in trouble.
For once in her forty-two years, Trina’s breaking all the rules... ...until she finds out Mac is her daughter’s new second grade teacher.
Two words: Off. Limits.
And Mac’s one unbreakable rule? Don’t mix work with pleasure. Unlike Trina, Mac does, indeed, follow his own rules.
Lilian Monroe lives in a luxurious jungle treehouse surrounded by lush greenery, with an army of scantily-clad men with rippling abdominal muscles ready to attend to her every need.
No, wait. That's not true.
Lilian Monroe spends her days dangling her feet into her pool, while a scantily-clad pool boy with rippling abdominal muscles feeds her chocolate-covered strawberries and massages her back.
Okay, okay. You got me. That's not true, either. Let's try again.
Lilian Monroe lives at home with her two children, three dogs, and twelve chickens. Her husband likes to work shirtless in the back yard. His sweaty, gleaming abdominal muscles ripple with every movement and he—
I'm sorry. I have to stop. Fine, I'll admit it. That one isn't true either.
How about this: Lilian Monroe loves thinking about men with rippling abdominal muscles serving her hand and foot, and she wants you to think about them too! She is an avid reader, writer, and lover of all things romance.
She loves everything from bad boys to billionaires. Her books are packed with sizzling-hot heat, action, suspense, and everything from second chances to single dads. She hates cheating and loves a good happily ever after (and rippling abs).
This is the 4th book in this fun rom-com series. We go back to the small town of Hearts Cove and revisit old friends, make some new ones and laugh at all the midlife jokes! This was Katrina's story. She is recently divorced with two kiddos and trying to find herself. Little did she expect to fall for the Hunky Mac Blair, who rides a Harley, teaches second grade and makes and sells pottery. This was a fun read full of genuine friendships, learning to chase your dreams no matter your age and falling in love. I love all these characters and can definitely relate to all the jokes about midlife.
I'm getting midlife romance fatigue with book 4 of this series but our new hottie rides a motorcycle and wears lots of black leather. Reason enough. Unfortunately it was mostly low intensity pining and being daft. My least favourite.
I love loved the Heart’s Cove Hotties series from the start and I was excited about this new release but I’m also going to admit that I was several chapters in and I felt like this one was going down a very predictable road and I was so disappointed. I told myself to keep reading and I’m so glad I did, yes there were some twists and turns in this story but they were anything but predictable and author Lilian Monroe surprised and delighted me once again. A newly divorced single mom of two and the hot biker dude who both are so much more than their outside personas. I loved this one!
After years of being unappreciated and made to feel less than by her ex-husband Trina has moved to Heart’s Cove with her mother and two kiddos to be closer to her sister. She’s feeling a bit adrift but feels that once they are able to move into her sister’s old home after the repairs from the fire she had, gets her children started in school and activities, she’ll be able to concentrate on getting a job. What she doesn’t expect is an exchange with Mac, a biker, outside a club to remind her that she is more than a mother and wife.
Mac is surprised by his reaction to Trina, while he’s had his share of women he has never one get close enough to hurt him, but something about Trina calls to him and he hopes that she’ll come back to his Dad’s bar and find him again.
Things I really appreciated about this book were Trina never bad mouthing her ex-husband to the kids despite the fact her ex was a piece of work and Trina not introducing her children to Mac when they first begin to start their flirtation because she doesn’t want to confuse them. She puts her children first and I have to admire that about her even when it’s a difficult choice. I loved that Mac built Trina up from the start and understood the things she did were what was best for her children. I hated that Mac never had that talk with Trina about why he thought he’d always be alone and the pain he still carried from his mother leaving, but I also feel that despite the hurt it caused when she backed off from their relationship he couldn’t fault her because she was a good mother.
While it was understandable why Trina’s ex-husband was brought into the story since he does have one weekend a month with his kids, I felt like at times his reaction was over the top. I also felt bringing in a woman Mac slept with once was a bit contrived and added unnecessary angst.
I loved the way Trina came alive in this story, watching her go from the beaten down ex-wife to believing in herself and her ability to take care of herself and her children was a thing of beauty. I loved the chemistry between Trina and Mac; it was off the charts and even when they were apart it was easy to see neither one was getting over the other easily. In fact I think that time apart just made them both realize how special the other one was and make them miss each other more. Mac’s reaction to Trina’s ex-husband’s art was a bit over the top but also a bit of comic relief.
Fun and flirty yet sassy and sexy, Dirty Little Midlife Disaster was an amazing addition to this strong series.
I am in LOVE with this series. Each book is better than the last.
Book 4 - Dirty Little Midlife Disaster ticks all my boxes! It’s a fantastic single parent, forbidden romance read made even better by the fact that both main characters are in their forties and he’s a sexy biker!
*Swoon*.
Honestly I don’t think I could have enjoyed this book more than I did. It is touching and sweet and oh so sexy - the perfect read in one sitting romance. Well done, Lilian, well done.
Dirty Little Midlife Disaster gets the judy.ann.loves.books stamp of approval as does the entire Heart’s Cove Hotties series and is a must read romance for everyone who needs to lose themselves in a great romance read. TBR and Enjoy!
After reading ...mistake, I wasnt sure if I'd read this one given the issues I had with it. However, as I normally like this author books, I thought I'd try it. I didnt get further than 100 pages before essentially skimming through it. The main reason was I just couldnt warm to either Trina or Mac - him in particular. I can't really put my finger on why either. One thing for certain was that unlike othe books by LM, the chemistry just wasnt there. Normally, it jumps of the page but it was hard work to believe it in this case. The 'ex's', even though you expect them to be awful or scheming were just downright nasty, especially Kevin. It was hard to see why Trina would have married him the first place, nevermind stay with him. Whilst you can generally guess the way the plot will go, you sometimes get little surprises here and there. This had neon signs from about 5 chapters in and I pretty much predicted each newer characters role/personality. The more regular characters began to grate a bit as well.I wondered if I hadn't been in the right sort of mood to read it so I did stop and go back to it but it made no difference. It gets two stars purely because I liked Hamish and the dynamic with Trina and Candice. I suspect after Jen's book, the third sister will appear. I'll still keep a look out for LM books but this will be the last of this 'series' I'll read. A final note, and as usual for me, very picky, but the cover bears no resemblance to the characters - especially Mac. Grr!😉
I loved Mac he is my dream man!! Hot, alpha, motorcycle riding, artistic, dominant man in the bedroom, work shop etc.. he is respectful, possessive and when he gives his heart he is all in!! I liked Trina, loved what a good mom she was but hated what a doormat she was with her ex! Hated how she never stood up for herself with Kevin which led her to with Mac when she shouldn’t have been pushing him away!! Kevin is a horrible, narcissistic character who feels better putting Trina down and no one but Mac does anything about it. I adore the characters and setting of these stories, adore second chance romance with mature characters involved, but to be honest the angst and drama from these women characters not being strong independent females is driving me crazy! I can’t do it anymore moving on to other reads! Sorry Jen and Fallon, I would have loved to see your story played out but since Jen has been weak with no self esteem and pushing Fallon away for several books I’m out! ✌️
Trina (Candice's sister) moves to Heart's Cove after her divorce from her cheating artist husband. She met Mac in front of a bar in the last book (the guy with the motorcycle). The chemistry is strong. But she is literally one day out from her divorce and he's got his own past and secrets.
This would have been better if we had less Jen and Fallon (which should be and will be their own book) and more sexy times and get to know you dialogue between Trina and Mac who would rather make out than talk and get to know each other.
This was such a cute read! Mac isn’t just a bad boy biker, he’s also an artist and grade school teacher! Smart and talented… Trina starts out a bit of a hot mess between single parenting her two adorable kiddos, handling her freshly minted divorce and douchwaffley ex, but learning to stand on her own two feet was worth the journey she took. And with the support squad of awesome ladies she comes to rely on, Trina’s going to discover she’s stronger than she knows. Trina and Mac have Hades hot chemistry y’all and oh my lands! Channel the smexy scene in Ghost with Patrick Swayze and Demi Moore…oh my…. However, real life kicks in and the brakes are applied for a bit, but I loved that they individually turn introspective and seriously considered what the end goal was.
I haven’t read previous books in the series, but I really enjoyed this one. Older characters (Mac is 45, Trina I don't remember if it’s mentioned), single parents, feisty senior citizens, mixed families—this story is a mixed bag of crazy I gobbled up!
You know that scene from the movie Ghost...I know you do. It's in this book and it's not cheesy, it's just plain hot. I have a whole new appreciation for pottery.
H and H in their 40's, divorced, single mom, small town, the best girl posse ever, and this one had had hot bikers. It had it all.
The only thing that keeps this series from being 5 stars is that the couples get together so close to the end of the book. I want more of them together. I want to see them as a couple.
Honestly, for me this book could have been twice as long!
Not my favorite of the series but still cute. I would have liked to see more relationship building with the kids, etc, but I still thought it was cute.
This is another great installment in this series! I love the over-40 characters and while they don’t have their lives completely figured out, (do any of us really?), they have a much better grasp on it that a lot of the other books I read. It makes for a lot less angst, which I appreciate. I wasn’t sure how much I was going to like this book because I’m not an MC kind of girl, but that’s not the way Mac is at all, he’s a gentle giant (that happens to be smoking hot). Loved Mac and Trina together!
Lilian Monroe continues her winning streak in the Hearts Cove Hotties series with her fourth installment, Dirty Little Midlife Disaster. Drifting from the Four Cups partners, it's the story of Candice's sister Katrina ("Trina") and motorcycle-riding, school-teaching Mac. Trina is newly divorced--so new that her cheating husband just signed the papers--and a girls' night with the Four Cups ladies turns into a makeout session with the bar owner's son...Mac. Later, her clunky car breaks down and who rides to the rescue? Yes, it's Mac. The elderly twins who run the local hotel host a pottery class, and the teacher is... you guessed it. He just keeps showing up in her life, always comes to the rescue, always looks too hot to be real, always looks at Trina like he thinks *she's* too hot to be real.
The are four problems with this situation: first, it's an overused rom-com plot device. Second, she's got baggage from her divorce and the bad marriage that preceded it. Third, he's being stalked by a former one-night stand who won't give up four years later. And fourth, he's her daughter's second grade teacher, creating a potential ethical breach. The first is the author's fault; the second and third are Trina's and Mac's for hooking up before engaging in enough small talk to learn that (1) he had a one-night stand with the parent of a student and never wants it to happen again, and (2) she has two kids with the man who cheated on her for years and is still conflicted about whether she did the right thing. Number four, the potential deal breaker, never crosses either of their minds. The fact that the first day of school is a big day for Mac never registers with Trina, and he doesn't check the ages of her kids. The first day of school is a double surprise!
The Four Cups ladies are used to great comic effect, from Simone's eyebrow raises to Candice's sisterly trash talk about Trina's ex. And her shamefaced confession of having had sex with her child's teacher yields not "How are you going to deal with it?" but "How was it?" Pick those battles, ladies!
The very quick dive into attraction and fantasy is a bit shocking, especially from the woman's perspective, but it's apparent in the chapters Mac narrates that the feeling--or sensation, to be precise--is mutual. There's a subplot about Trina being girl-powered into setting up a styling business with the help of the Four Cups partners, but that's simply intended to illustrate her growing independence. An art exhibit showdown between the man she threw out of her life and the man she desperately wants in it is not only funny, but cathartic for any woman who's been treated badly and hasn't dared to act on her revenge fantasies.
If not for the huge gap in communication (another standard rom-com complication) and the inevitable confrontation between the woman scorned and the woman Mac really wants, leaving Trina with (blessedly short-lived) shaken confidence in her gallant hero, Dirty Little Midlife Disaster would be a five-star winner. As it is, it's a fun, four-star, one-sitting read.
Dirty Little Midlife Disaster Book #4 Mac and Trina Older couple, single mom, small town
This was my favorite of the series, so far.
Trina is newly divorced, with two young children. She’s moved to Hearts Cove with her kids and her mother, to be near her sister. Finding that support system her cheating ex husband slowly pushed away from her. She’s looking for stability and calm moving forward. Learning to be independent and think for not only her kids, but also for herself. Mac is not your everyday second grade teacher. He wears leather, rides a Harley and is an up and coming potter. He helps out his father and brother in their bar. He’s not opposed to the occasional hookup, but isn’t looking for a relationship. But fate has a funny way of showing you exactly what you need. And it’s fate that keeps putting these two together. Mac has become her knight in shining armor. Always there when she needs him. When they finally cross that line, and both can see there is something there, once again fate jumps in. But not in a good way this time. As it turns out, Mac is her daughter’s new teacher. Forcing them both to take a step back and reevaluate. Mac doesn’t want to compromise his career, or worse set Katie up to be ridiculed or teased. Trina doesn’t want to jeopardize his job, or confuse her kids. They both agree. It’s time to end things before they even get started. I loved Mac. He’s a big scary dude but he’s really just a marshmallow. Soft and sweet. He’s willing to put aside his feelings so as not to upset Trina or her kids. But he is also capable of stepping up and protecting them the way no one else ever has. Trina was a great mom. Her kids were always her first thought. It was nice to see her getting her confidence back with friends and family who had her back. This book had a slightly different feel from the others, which I really liked. It’s still predictable, and they have that obligatory third act breakup. But there was not a huge blow up, no harsh words, two adults making adult decisions. There is a bit of drama with the exes, and Trina’s ex finally gets a bit of his own medicine. That was great. As with all the books, the townspeople are hilarious. And the “Four Cups” women are great. I’m looking forward to finally getting Jen’s story. Multiple points of view, no cheating between the main characters. I would recommend reading this series in order.
This is the fourth book in the Heart’s Cove Hotties series, and I read the first three books but this book I did as an audiobook, and I liked it but I will say because these books are from many POV’s you need to really pay attention since the female voice might be for a different character then Trina. It might be Candice, Jen or Fiona.
Katrina Viceroy or otherwise Trina for her family & friends is a recently divorced mother of two. We met her in the other books since she is Candice’s sister and recently moved to Heart’s Cove with her young son, daughter and mother. After years of being taken for granted by her ex-husband she found out he had been having an affair for many years. Since the move she is concentrating on starting over which includes getting her children enrolled & started in school, seeking employment, and finding a rhythm coparenting with her ex.
Mac Blair looks like a bad boy with his muscled body in his leather gear sitting on his motorcycle in the local bars parking lot. He is hot and his deep voice is doing all kinds of things to Trina’s neglected hormones. It’s nice at her age and being a mother to have the attention of such a sexy man, since she hasn’t felt worthy of the attention for a long while. Mac ended up having several sides to him which I liked. He wasn’t just a biker dude. Even though Mac seemed like a bit of a player he wasn’t quite the man you originally see and after meeting Trina he seemed to realize what was important.
I liked the way their relationship developed with a bit of back & forth but over a long span of time it seemed plausible how it worked out. I can’t say as I was a huge fan of the art exhibit at the gallery in Hearts Cove, it didn’t seem realistic BUT it was kinda funny.
I will say Trina’s ex-husband was a real Douche Nozzle and needed his ass kicked. A real narcissist that I can’t believe Trina was able to be as cordial as she was. I would have told him where to get off if it were me. Part of me appreciated her keeping it together in front of the children but I would have pulled him aside and ripped him a new one. Especially since she already had the normal “mom guilt” that wasn’t deserved, and he was just adding to it. Sorry for the rant, he just really pissed me off.
I've definitely enjoyed this series. There's lots about this book i liked, too.
Trina is a barely divorced mom who spent a decade propping up her artist husband, who is now wildly successful. He also happens to be a huge bag of Richards. She's pretty beat down and focused as many moms are on her kids. Mac is every woman's dream. He's gorgeous, an artist, a teacher, and a guy who loves his Harley. And he instantly falls for Trina.
Their romance is sorta rocky as they traverse the many obstacles in their way. There's an old one-night-stand flame who can't read the room, a narcissistic ex-husband bent on keeping Trina as his favorite emotional victim, not to mention Mac's concerns about the propriety of dating the mother of one of his students. And of course, the worst of all, Trina's lack of confidence.
I struggled to believe that someone in such a small town could make a living as a personal stylist. I also wondered about a teacher dating the parent of his student during the school year. Maybe I'm too rooted in the present. I also wasn't comfortable with the sadistic behavior of the ex-husband. It seemed way over the top and brought an element of real cruelty to the series. That is a bit too strong for me. There's tons of "woman in danger" romance out there, but i try to avoid that. The sick pleasure Trina's ex took in taunting her publicly was super over-the-top. Being an ass, sure. Being a perversely vicious dude, nope.
And just a small thing, but I've noticed this since picking up the first book. This series is about people in their mid to late 40s. But all the covers feature clean-cut young people who look like they're in their last year of college. I really hate that. At least feature more mature models or none. The covers look like a bait-and-switch marketing tactic, and that's a big turnoff.
Ok this is not my typical read anyone who knows me knows I read dark romance and PNR, but after finding this read via a Facebook ad I thought screw it let’s give this rom com a go. ( judging by the cover I legit thought it’s going to a clean/sweet romance but I still dived In because I liked the blurb)
This is my first book by this author and it won’t be my last in fact I brought all the books in the series and pre order her other.
I really enjoyed this book because 1 it’s main characters are over 35+ and it’s really nice to read about older characters because I get bored sometimes reading about characters in the 20’s.
2 I liked the fact the FMC was a mother with kids older than toddlers and the way she was with her kids reminded me of me lol .
3 MAC omg that sliver fox was is absolutely down right sexy and filthy he had me swooning from page 1
4 the older ladies you’ll know who I’m on about lol they literally had me laughing so hard I legit peed myself a few times ( I’m a mother of 3 lol my bladder is ruined)
5 I loved how the FMC stood up to her deadbeat Ex husband ( I wanted to punch him in the throat so many times )
6 the FMC mum my god I wish she was my mum because she’s bloody epic.
7 I just really really loved this book so much and as I said above everyone knows I don’t read Romcom’s I’ve always read dark romance or PNR but I’m now a huge fan of this author a lot I’m literally off to stalk her lol on social media .
If I could give this 10 stars I would because again it’s not a clean cut romance, it’s both dirty and funny and Really well written and the characters were amazing
If you like small town romance where the MCs are in their 40s, you should look up this book and the books in this series
🎧Audiobook Review🎧
Dirty little midlife disaster by Lilian Monroe
Rating: 4🌟
Audio: Great work by the narrators (2 narrators)
Storyline: This is 4th book in a standalone series but to get the full effect you should read the previous books. It’s several POVs but mostly from the 2 main characters for this book. So in this book you get to know Trina a 40 something newly divorced single mom, who just moved to a small town where her sister (previous book) now lives. We also get to know Mac who is a bad boy? A bicker? A bartender? Or is he something else?
These two keeps bumping in to each other and the chemistry is HOT, but can it really work between a so called bad boy and a newly divorced single mom who just wants to find her balance and her true self?
So far in this series this is my favorite book, probably because you already know most of the characters from the previous books. But I feel like this book had a different depth in the storyline.
For someone who loves these tropes 100%, it would probably have been a 5⭐️ read, I like these books I really do but I kind of feel almost too young to enjoy these books to their full potential.
These books also kind of feels like extended epilogues for the previous couples and prolongs for future books.
Sometimes, if you’ve read 1 book in a series, you’ve read them all. They’re essentially the same deal with different ‘names & faces’, right?
At least in my experience—as someone who reads everything, this is not unique to this genre at all but definitely feels more prevalent to me. It is absolutely not the case with Lilian Monroe and she, as a result, has multiple series I can’t get enough of.
Take this one, for example,”Heart’s Cove Hotties”. Each book absolutely does feature a different couple and their respective challenges, lives, etc. but it also keeps us up to speed on all the characters we’ve met thus far, while introducing or showing us more of others. So, I don’t know about you, but I’m pretty invested now. (As I am in a couple of her others series. If you’re looking for recs, I recommend her “Manhattan Billionaires” series, as well as “Royally Unexpected”, “Knocked Up”, and “Clarke Brothers”.)
This one has a bit of extra fun, due to a very nasty, verbally abusive ex. I sort of loved hating him and waiting for him to be put in his place.
Oh and this town! I absolutely love the way they all sort of look out for each other—WHERE can I live that’s like this?!? If I can’t actually move to this town, I’d better do the next-best thing: start the next book!
Explanation: this story seemed to not follow the other books in that it isn’t about the 4 gal-pals who own & run the cafe, Four Cups in this cute, little upcoming resort town, but rather about the younger sister of Candace, the yoga-loving widow who finds love with the hot actor.
However, once I started this book, it made total sense! And of course, this youngER sister, Trina, is also dealing with not great luck in the love department, with two little kiddos in tow & a hole of an ex. When she encounters Mac, it is attraction at nearly first sight, but there are complications galore between them, starting with what he does for a living. Gah!!
Love this installment as well. And it I can also add, which I’ve neglected in my other reviews of these books, that the secondary characters are terrific (the mom’s, the daughters, the old ladies…) and I really love the in-between-the-action chapters that either go forward with maybe the next storyline or bring us back with much love to a previous main character who has more to say!! Great technique!
I really liked this. I did find both main characters pretty obnoxious in the first third of the story. They acted more like horny teenagers than full-grown adults. She blushed at someone saying "smooth stroke" in front of the hero...which I wouldn't do and I'm younger than her.
However the story grew from there. The heroine realizes she's a strong woman and I really liked her growth throughout the story and who she was as a person by the end of the book. She's a really good mother to her kids and she puts them first throughout the story. She doesn't let her ex dictate her life. The hero is sort of one-dimensional for a good part of the book (his POV spends a lot of time talking about how hard she makes him and how attracted he is to her). I do like how he is with the kids though and he is a great partner for the heroine.
I don't really like the cuts to other character's stories in the book though and it kind of threw me off whenever it happened. Also some of the steamy scenes made me cringe at times. That said I'll definitely be continuing on in this series since I've liked most of the books so far.
A single mom and a hot biker guy? Yes please! DIRTY LITTLE MIDLIFE DISASTER adds another couple to the Heart’s Cove community. Trina moved to Heart’s Cove with her two young children as her divorce was taking place. Mac has lived in Heart’s Cove. He has his hand in several projects, let’s say.
What I liked about this book was the contrast between a caring man and Trina’s ex who was emotionally abusive. Monroe focused on revealing a stronger, more confident and independent woman that did not have to rely on a man to define how she was supposed to feel about herself.
Mac is such a pleasant surprise that I won’t spoil by saying anything other than he’s protective, talented and not afraid to abandon his preset ideas about women and long term relationships.
As with the other parts of this series, the stories of the other women continue as part of the narrative. The small town appeal has remained fresh.
I received an advance copy of the book from the author. This is my honest review.
I have really enjoyed all of the books in this series and Dirty little midlife Disaster by @lilian.monroe is a great addition to the story. I finished it in one sitting. Katrina’s “perfect”life has imploded and she and her 2 children are living with her mother. Trina is a girly girl who has been made to feel small by the person in her life who should have been her biggest supporter and now she is starting over. She is a little broken but smart, beautiful, strong and with the help of her friends and family she stars to see this and get her life back. Mac is an emotionally closed off bachelor who doesn’t think he needs anyone, until Trina walks into his life. He is also hot, smart, talented and has a good heart just waiting for the right person to see it. Complications get in the way via Trina’s ex and Mac’s job. I loved the ending. I still like that other characters have their own chapters in these books. It lets you see what happened with previous couples and gives hints of what’s to come. Thoroughly enjoyable read, can’t wait for the next book.
These two are so good together. Trina is a recently divorced mother with two young kids. She moved to town with her mom after her sister Candice's house burned down. They are staying in a rental house until Candice's home is rebuilt.
Mac is an incredible artist who works with pottery. He is also known to ride Harley through town. That's how Trina meets him. Outside a bar one night just staring at his bike. Mac is in total lust for this gorgeous woman. They actually run into each other at a pottery class that Mac is teaching. Things start out from there.
Then it all gets crazy when Trina finds out Mac is also her daughter's 2nd grade teacher. So not only do they have to deal with the rules of the school, but Trina's ex-husband Kevin comes to town to make things really uncomfortable.
Love the characters so much in this series. I could be friends with all of them. Great writing Lilian Monroe. Incredible series for sure! Enjoy!
Seriously, I didn’t know I could love Heart Cove anymore, but than Mac and Trina came to be! Can we just say, holy sexual tension, Batman! These two crackle next to each other. I really love all of these books in Lilian Monroe’s Dirty Little series. Not only are they incredibly relatable women, but they have real life struggles that they have to muck through and survive in order to become the one they’re meant to be. Even though waiting for this to happen is painfully teary, the outcome is beyond amazing. I love the final exchange between Mac and Trina’s Ex-husband. It’s AMAZING and makes me love Mac even more. I also love that in these books you bear witness to not only updates on past characters but hints to upcoming events. I’m dying to know Jens story and whether or not Fallon plays a part. Waiting on pins & needles. Love love love Heart Cove and their unique & supportive community.
This book rocks! The next chapter in the saga of the ladies of Hearts Cove and this time it’s Trina’s turn. Trina has moved there to be with her sister Candice, mother and children after her divorce. Candice has already found her happily ever after in town and this time it will be Trina’s turn in the form of a hunky biker named Mac. But there is more to Mac as he also makes pottery and teaches elementary school. They will start off great but when Trina realizes he’s her daughter’s teacher, she backs away. Her ex will come to town and try to stir up trouble and it will be a bit of a bumpy ride as Trina tries to get back on her feet and get her life in order. In the end, Mac will show her just what she means to him and that he is willing to wait for her as long as she needs and it will end up putting them on the path to their happily ever after.
I read an ARC copy of this book and am volunteering my honest review.
I have looked forward to every single book in this series. Never once have I been disappointed. The thing I love about this series is that they are all 40 somethings. Real life, responsible, baggage carrying adults who’ve lived life and are on to their next chapters. I am so in love with Mac, and that’s saying something, because I never saw myself getting over Grant. Motorcycle riding, pottery loving, elementary teaching, fill-in soccer coach hottie. Poof!!! There went my ovaries! Trina. I found myself wanted to high-five her independence, but then I found myself wanted to smack her up side the head a time or two. Don’t get me started on Kevin. As always, the ladies of Heart’s Cove don’t disappoint. The girl squad is amazing. Lottie, Dorothy, Margaret and even Agnes are funny as ever. Cannot wait to see Jen and Fallon get their HEA.
I think Trina just became my favourite of all ‘The Dirty Little Midlife’ ladies. I feel I’ve been by her side on a complete journey. All the ups and downs, where I’ve cried and cheered, I’ve fumed and laughed…no more so than when full realisation hit her (no spoilers) that was when I just wanted to reach into the pages and give her a hug.
I have loved this series from the start, with Fiona and Grant, Candice and Blake, Simone and Wes. Not just because I’m a 40 something lady but because I love the camaraderie between all the ladies, the strength of their bond, their love and support for each other. I find myself wanting to be part of their gang! The whole atmosphere of Heart’s Cove is well written and feels like home.
Another great addition to this series. I now can’t wait for Jen’s story.
What can I say about this book? It is one of the best books that I have already read and I am gonna tell you why. The story is unpredicable and the characters are amazing. Trina is a divorced housewife, mother of two, and she is looking forward to a new beggining. Mac is an elementary teacher, a pottery and a biker. They have a chemistry at the moment they looked at each other, although they try to fight against their feelings. The situation gets a bit complicated when Trina realizes that Mac is her daughter's teacher. How will they break those rules? Will she fight for him or she just keep trying to avoid the feeling and to forget him? Is it worth? Anyway, the book is a must read. Each book in this series is better than the previous one. I can't wait for book 5. Lilian Monroe books are something else. She never disappointed us.
