Surviving after their stealth bomber crashes, a pair of co-pilots must do anything to recover the two devastating nuclear weapons that the plane was carrying, even if they are forced to kill each other. Original. Movie tie-in.
This was a fun read, but it felt clipped. Every chapter was only 2-3 pages, which made it feel like it lacked some continuity and prevented a more immersive experience.
A new B-3 stealth bomber, low observable, well actually, this was nearly invisible to radar. It had the nickname, GHOST. Carrying nuclear arsenal, the two pilots on an exercise, 800 miles per hour, they both felt closer to God. Their bodies feeling part of the plane, they have become the machine. Plane down, nukes gone, we have a broken arrow. Two pilots completely different. Friends for years now completely at the other ends of the spectrum. One wants money, power, revenge over a lack in rising in the military ranks. He will destroy the B-3 and steal the nukes. The other with a dependable loyal to justice. He will need to devise a plan to save millions from nuclear fall out. The temperature the bomb creates is 18 million degrees Fahrenheit, more than half the core of the sun.
One of the better film novelisations I've read. The first two thirds works well as a novel, plenty of background to the characters, depth and prose, all of which is not present in the actual filmed version. The final act falls over somewhat, primarily because it is all action designed for the screen rather than the page.
A legitimately underrated action movie, the novelization of which adds reams of cringy dialog and barely manages to describe the numerous action set pieces.
