Ada- The last thing I expected after moving to Whispering Springs, Oregon was to fall head over heels for Ulgan, the sweet and sexy orc bakery owner. I've had my eye on him for months, and it makes my heart race when I find out that my feelings aren't one sided. Am I ready to trust Ulgan and let him into my life, or will a secret that he's been keeping from me tear us apart?
Ulgan- I knew from the second Ada entered my bakery that she's my fated mate. Humans don't have fated mates, so how am I supposed to prove to her that we are meant for each other? Months have gone by since I first scented her, and I'm through with waiting. It's time for me to woo my beautiful mate and show Ada that the one thing missing in her life is an orc to care for her.
Her Sweet Orc is a cozy and spicy small town monster romance featuring a creative and confident plus sized art teacher FMC and the ultimate golden retriever/cinnamon roll orc baker MMC.

These precious babies. I LOVE them. I would fight for them. This book! It's got all the good fall cute small-town vibes! I was kicking my feet and giggling the whole book. I'd love to live in this world and get to go to the fall festival and the Dumb Supper! Ah like this town and all the people were so awesome. There was just so much to love in this book. Ada and Ulgans story was so sweet, I like that they took their time (but not too much time!) they were so smitten it was cute. Allll the consent, it was so good. We love good consent and lots of spice! And Ulgan was so good at being all sexy and protective but also not making Ada seem like shes weak and unable to protect herself? I really like that it felt like he was protective but also supportive. One big thing I appreciated so much was Ulgans anxiety and how he spoke positively of his experience In therapy. It was just a nice touch to the book, but it made me happy to see the mental health rep; it was validating! And, like really well done because I feel like it wasn't just popped in and then never mentioned, like the mental health struggles for both characters is there throughout the book but its also them not using it as excuses but being aware of their fears/anxieties and just, kudos to Meg because she wrote it so so well. And Ada with her fears that its too good, ahh she was too sweet, it broke my heart when she was fearful that Ulgan was a cruel joke killed me. But seeing them happy at the end? Dreamy. Just perfect. Ok, I could go on about how much I loved this book, but I'll just say it is amazing and a must-read.
Also I hope Theo falls in love with a clutter loving messy girl ♥
This book was maybe one of the coziest books I’ve EVER read. Small town, found family, fall festival, witchy celebrations, fated mates, a plus size fmc, and a hunky orc mmc!!! The perfect recipe for a cute, fun time. It’s so low stakes that there basically are NO stakes and sometimes that’s just what you need 😊
I personally don’t like when books make real life references because it kind of takes me out of the escapism. But I know some people don’t mind it so I would still definitely recommend it! 😊
I received this book for free as an ARC and I’m leaving my review voluntarily!
This book had its good moments and was cozy, body positive, and fluffy. I liked how awkward Ulgan was. However, I was bored during a lot of the book and some of it was too meta for my tastes.
Spice: 3.5/5
Triggers: mention of possible assassination, sexual harassment, mention of parent death, fatphobia
Cozy, sweet, and steamy monster romance that feels like a warm hug! Warning: be ready to crave sweets as you read 😜 I enjoyed the heroine's love for her own body, the nerdy hero, the found-family vibe, and the secondary characters. Can't wait to read their own stories!
Do you like baked goods? How about orcs? Better yet, how do you feel about giant, tattooed, bespectacled orcs who listen to 2010s emo music and own a bakery?
If you answered yes to any of the above, be sure to add Her Sweet Orc to your TBR!
This was such a sweet and fun read. Her Sweet Orc is a cosy, small-town love story of Ulgan, the Orcish owner of the local bakery, and Ada, an art teacher.
Ulgan is the ultimate cinnamon roll MMC, and Ada is refreshingly relatable, super confident, and an awesome positive representation of a plus size FMC who loves herself and her body.
I love the town of Whispering Springs and some of the side characters have so much personality to explore in future books. I can't wait to see more of the town, more festivals, and more of the the budding relationships!
Where do I even begin? This was easily one of my most favorite orc reads ever. EVER. Ulgan is the sweetest Orc with that nerdy sexy touch that melts your panties right off. Ada is so sweet and genuine and I just want to hug her and tell her she matters. I loved that he pined over her (respectfully) and was just as obsessed with her and she was him. I was squealing and kicking my feet the entire time. This book hit me in so many feels and even made me cry a few times. There was so many therapeutic moments and you can really feel all the love and care Meg poured into this. It's such a special and sweet story with a heaping dose of sexy orc smut. You will 100% cry from your eyes and your thighs. One of my all time favorite reads. I cannot CANNOT wait for Rue and Theo's book. Every single side character melted my heart and I NEED MORE. Phenomenal Meg, absolutely phenomenal. Your beautiful soul shines through every page.
You can't get much sweeter and cozier than this book is. It's full of meet cute moments, fall vibes, witchy celebrations, the best of best friends, and swoony monster men. And can we take a moment to appreciate a mmc who not only is comfortable expressing his feelings BUT also goes to therapy to manage his anxiety. MAJOR SWOON.
I fell in love with Rue immediately. I want to be her friend. And live in her house. She's the best friend we all need.
If you're looking for a slice of life romance with no angst, a monster mmc who will have you giggling and kicking your feet, and enough sweet moments to rot your teeth....this is the book for you!
We start the book off already several months into Ada and Ulgan's mutual pining and acquaintanceship. We don't get to see their meet cute. By like page 12 Ada is already "clenching her core" and fantasizing about Ulgan playing with her clit while giving him goo goo eyes while standing in line at his bakery. Like ma'am, I don't know you yet. Calm your tits, please.
Oh, and her core clenches AGAIN on pg 28 when he decides to bestow Ada with the nickname "Sunshine". Are we in nickname territory already?! If feel like this book is missing several establishing chapters! But alas, he proceeds to call her Sunshine approximately 45 more times (in a 174 pg book). Why do authors do this? 😭
If you don't like contemporary pop culture references in your monster romance, then this book may rub you the wrong way. By page 33 we have already had mentions of Dolly Parton, Raiders of the Lost Ark, true crime podcasts, and the words smut and crotch goblin. And there is So. Much. Texting. Omg.
I can't tell any of these characters apart as they all have the same Voice and it's making the pacing even more chaotic. (Ada seriously completed an entire mural from start to finish in one day? Ok.) This book seems to be one big case of telling, not showing. Ex: "I give Ada a wink to indicate that I’m joking with her." I'm sure we could have figured that one out.
But most importantly, this novel reads like one big masturbatory letter of self-indulgence and self-love to the author herself and I feel like I'm intruding on her private therapy homework. I know she dedicated this book to herself, but damn. It's a bit cringe at times, if I’m honest. Ex: "There’s no reason for me to be this nervous. I’m Ada-freaking-Walker. Men should be nervous to be around me, not the other way around." Again, I don't even know you, Ada. Chill out.

The sweetest monster romance I've ever read, this is Meg Rhodes debut novel and she made me want to move to the quaint little town of whispering springs. So I'm packing my bags and moving there. This is the perfect read for fall and anytime you want something sweet, cozy, and add in some spice.
Also, I cried happy tears reading this novel, being a plus size girlie myself, all I want is to be loved for just how I am like how Ulgan loves Ada. I think we all deserve to be happy and cherished no matter what. Thank you Meg for allowing me to arc read this and I can't wait for all the beautiful stories you're going to write! 💕
Ada's friend sneakily got her a gig painting Blissful Bites, putting all her sunshine and color into the neutral bakery.
Ulgan has it bad for Ada, ever since he laid on her beauty. He finally gets the courage to ask her out and it's history from there or so you think...
Ada is hesitant because of her past and doesn't want to let him but she doesn't know they are fated to be together.

Very cute. Very sweet. Low stakes and low angst. If you just want to feel good, read this. The use of the word mate in the last few chapters got to be repetitive. Strong debut. I would read more from this author and about this cute world.
This was an easy, fluffy, cosy fated mates read. There isn't much to the plot, and just a nice small town monster romance. I can't say the characters really engaged me that much, the FMC was okay but I didn't really like her labelling the MMC as a "nerd" because he wore glasses. There was also a part further in where the FMC says she struggled to make friends growing up...but doesn't give any further back story as to why. And so far leading up to this point, she has easily chatted to other characters and now has a group of friends. Her conversations with them don't come across as socially awkward, so the authors addition of her struggling with friends just doesn't make sense without any further information to support it. Admittedly I liked the MMC more, but I love a cinnamon roll character. I had hoped we would get a little more insight into his anxiety, but overall I liked his slightly unsure and nervous personality. It was endearing and likeable to read. I also don't understand how characters can just meet, and before hardly any conversation they can just "tell" they are going to get on, be great friends or love each other. This is said a few times when characters are meeting. HOW CAN YOU KNOW THIS? Does everyone else have some sort of premonition when they meet people, and I just never knew? I understand this a cosy read, but some parts seem too exaggerated or too "picture perfect". Whilst I enjoy a fluffy read in between other reads, I think this was a little too OTT for me as it was very cutesy.
You asked me once why I call you Sunshine.” He holds my hands in his and I can feel that they are slightly trembling. “You, Ada, burst into my life like the first glimpse of sun after a rainstorm. You bring so much joy and happiness into the lives of those around you, and I will forever consider myself the luckiest orc in existence that the fates decided that I am worthy of you.”

What a sweet and cozy read!
Her Sweet Orc is the kind of palate cleanser you need once in a while. Ulgan is a cinnamon roll and consent King, what more can you ask for?
The first time he laid eyes on Ada, he knew she was his fated mate. Instead of telling her, he tried to let their relationship blossom naturally so that the choice remained hers. Having been burned in the past from the few relationships she had, Ada could not be faulted for being wary and a little scared. But with her orc’s patience and love, she learned that the right male would adore every curve and angle of hers.
There are many moments that made me giggle and everyone needs a witch bestie like Rue. Can I also join their circle of friends, please? I have my eyes on many side characters 👀👀
This book was like having a sweet treat on a summer day.
I can’t get over Her Sweet Orc!!! I knew this book was gonna be good when I saw Meg posting about it over the summer and I’ve been on pins and needles waiting for the release! It was so cute and so sweet!! It’s one of those books that just makes you feel cozy and has you smiling the whole way through!! It has immaculate fall vibes too, a perfect read for autumn!! 🎃 Ulgan is the sweet cinnamon roll orc that runs the bakery in town and Ada is the art teacher for the elementary school. Ulgan feels his mate bond click into place as soon as he sees Ada, but doesn’t want to rush her because humans don’t feel the mate bond, so he doesn’t tell her. Ada has the biggest crush on him and has just been waiting for him to make a move! Ulgan finally has decided he’s going to get his woman! Ulgan is a consent king 👑 he’s so sweet, but has a dirty mouth that Ada appreciates (she reads monster smut and she’s not quiet about it!! We love to see this!!)They take things slow and get to know each other while going on lots of fall themed dates that will make you feel ooey gooey inside 😍 Ada has a tight knit group of girlfriends that have her back and I love seeing found family like this 🥹 I fell in love with every single character in Whispering Springs and I’m very invested in their futures 😂 I loved this book and cannot wait for more from this author!!! I feel so lucky to be on her street team and to have gotten to read this early!!! Release day is September 10th so preorder now for the perfect fall monster read!! 🎃 And PS his cum is cinnamon flavored 🤭
Her Sweet Orc is a cozy & spicy small town monster romance. It's a short & sweet quick read that I read in less than 3 hours! Just couldn't stop once I started it! It was cute & funny & lovely, & I enjoyed reading it so much!
Also I have to say, @kitfoxart did a fabulous job! I stopped to take a good look at this book because of this extraordinarily cute cover!
As you can already see in this illustration, we have a green-skinned orc male baker & a curvy human female artist! & they're fated mates!😍 He'd scented her the moment she first walked into his bakery & saw each other for the first time!
Also, I think the author is super awesome-> supporting indie authors & human illustrators & mentioning them in this book was really cool! One of them being an author I've read & loved- @authorivyknox & her dragon-alien shifter romance!
This series has a lot of potential & I could already sniff so many ships in making-> really excited to read the Elf-Theo's story, & also the pack alpha (wolf shifter)-Sebastian's book if/when we get one!
Five Huge Golden Stars! This book was just that good! I seriously loved everything about this book!!
Starting with Ulgan, I loved how deliciously swoon-worthy he was! He was just a downright yummy character! I really liked that he was the King of consent! He was just so respectful of Ada. His nervous moments made me laugh, mostly because I can relate to how awkward he was at times! Like the whole "I'm going to go stand over there. By the counter. Over there." Yup! 100% relatable!😅
Ada was a total sweetheart all around. Her and Ulgan were just syrupy sweet together! Seriously, from having a crush on each other to the friendship they built to the spice, it was just all perfection!
Rue was a hoot and a half! She was just downright hysterical and I loved her for it! I don't want to spoil anything but I SQUEALED over the last chapter! It just has me so hyped for the next book!!
If you're a foodie, you'll love all of the comfort food vibes happening in this book. Let alone all of the comfy, cozy fall vibes happening. I loved all of the small town dating vibes that this book gave off. Overall, it was just such a perfect fall read!
Thank you Meg Rhodes for the opportunity to read this ARC and for letting me fangirl over your book with you! It was such a fun read!
My thoughts and opinions are my own in this review.
How do I even begin to say how much I loved this?!
First things first I'm so glad my book club chose this as our final Samhain / Halloween romance read!
Ada and Ulgan are utterly adorable, this is a very sweet romance and well it is on the lighter side it does have some content warnings to keep in mind so please check that out before you read.
Overall I absolutely loved the writing, the story, the well-layered personalities, and most especially the banter not only with the main characters but also the side characters it made for multi-layered relatability.
Ada has been hurt in her past and Ulgan is just the orc to give her a fresh start, I loved the Cozy small town vibes and can't wait to read more in this world/town and from the author!
I tend to read dark romances but I have to say that this is probably my favorite read of the season and I would highly recommend that people check it out.
I look forward to doing a full review on my blog soon!
El's scale: ⭐| 5 (so cute it had me giggling in my blanket burrito) 🌶️| 2.5 (orc spice, knotty fun, and consent king!)
Swooning so hard after reading this. Her Sweet Orc perfectly describes this book. It’s unbelievable sweet and gives you all the feels.
Ada and Ulgan are adorable together. I loved Ada’s strength and even when she had her moments she was able to take a minute to regroup and come back to it. Ulgan is the definition of swoon worthy. He was so mindful and thoughtful of Ada’s needs. Them together just made my heart happy.
Overall, loved this fool and definitely recommend. I can’t wait to read about a certain witchy friend and a bootleg Legolas next.
This was unbelievably cute and cozy! If you want to dip your toes into monster smut but don’t want to be overwhelmed, start here! If you’re a veteran monster smut reader but want to see an artsy, gorgeous, plus sized female character get the tattooed, baker orc of her dreams, pick this up!
Her Sweet Orc is wholesome and funny and sexy.
I squealed with delight and kicked my feet while reading Meg Rhodes’ debut! I can’t wait to continue with this series as they come! 4.75⭐️
Also, let’s give a round of applause for the cover art! 👏
This was super cute Ulgie and Ada are very much meant for each other and it shows, he’s literally a giant gummy bear and although she’s been hurt before she give him a chance and the outcome couldn’t be happier
The one this is the use of “mate” instead of other pet names sometimes made me feel like I was reading a romance between two Australian pals but other than that no complaints
The title says it all—this book is sweet! It's such a delightful and cozy monster romance. Ulgan and Ada are perfect mates, absolutely made for each other. The story is filled with heartwarming moments, found family, and great friendships. With small-town vibes, witchy fall festival celebrations, and plenty of sweet, spicy moments that will melt your heart, this book is the perfect cozy read.
I received a free ARC for my honest review. thank you Meg for such sweet story.
I loved Ada and Ulgan so much, but for very different reasons. Ada’s inner thoughts and actions were so validating and so REAL that I felt like I knew her. Ulgan was such a sweetheart from the start and always put Ada first, which is such a win in my eyes. The story flowed so well all throughout and I can’t wait to see where the series goes!
This baby gets five stars from me because I got to read a bit of it before ARCs came out and I just loved the vibes, the story, and how much I couldn’t stop thinking about how excited I’ve been to read this!
Set in a small town in Oregon, Her Sweet Orc is a cozy monster romance and the debut novel for Meg Rhodes. Ada is a human living in a town filled with all kinds of kinds. Including the owner of the local bakery, Ulgan. Ulgan is an orc who enjoys woodworking, baking, and seeing the curvy purple haired teacher when she gets her morning coffee and bite to eat. And Ada doesn’t think he’s half bad himself. Reading Ada’s character in this book was like reading myself on the page. Her past and fears regarding relationships hit home deeply. I don’t usually see myself in characters but I have with her and the type of love language she has and needs. And Ulgan is a consent king and we love to see it because honestly he’s just the way a normal person should be when it comes to communication and checking in on his girl. Ada has found a true home here and a place where all of her new found family loves and supports her.
This book has sweet and spice, and everything nice! Fall festivals, witchy gatherings and baked goods. It’s book one in the Love in Whispering Springs series and I can’t wait for this book to hit everyone’s kindles or front steps and visit Ada, Ulgan and the other awesome residents in this cozy small town.
I don't know if "cozy" books are supposed to be this way, but this was too picture perfect to work. Everything just worked instantly so that the social awkwardness or nervousness didn't fit into the story. In one chapter the FMC just starts thinking about how she "always was a loner" so she got really into reading and then she talks about how she made friendship after friendship and somehow they were all perfect and complete strangers she met outside of work or school. And this is what she says about them: "Female friendships tend to get overlooked, but there is such magic in finding a group of weirdos who love and accept each other’s unique brand of weirdness. That isolating sense of loneliness is something of the past. It also helps that each of my friends is curvy, just like me. Being surrounded by strong, kickass fat women has empowered me like nothing else. I’m so thankful for them." Her friends weren't weird at all, she is only weird for saying this and the MMC wasn't a nerd (he was a god damn bakery owner with glasses!). I couldn't connect with the characters or story, because it was too perfect and the sentimental thoughts that she drifted into had no substance for the plot and there was very little plot.

Her Sweet Orc is such a cute monster romance! One of my favorite kinds of stories to read is cozy small town, with monsters living among us and this delivered. Can I get a map? I want to move to Whispering Springs! I loved the fall setting and the Halloween vibes. This will absolutely get you in the mood for a cozy spooky season. Onto the characters. Ulgan is the sweetest cinnamon roll orc and he's a baker! He can be your cinnamon roll and make you delicious cinnamon rolls. What more could you ask for? And Ada! She's the sweetest, they're both made for each other which is great since they're fated mates. You're going to fall in love with this couple. The side characters were also a lot of fun. I can't wait to see how their stories play out!
This is a weird one because I don't think this book was good really at all in terms of writing/characters/plot, but I really enjoyed specific aspects of the fall vibes/coziness so I want to give it 2.5 stars even if it's really more like 2 stars.
The writing isn't horrible in terms of grammar or sentence structure, but something odd about reading this book is that there is no subtext or implications at all. Every single thing that the author wants you to know is laid out very clearly in text. For example, at one point the main character is dancing in a bar and a man she doesn't know tries to grab her hips and dance with her. Instead of describing anything about him, the author just says "The offending hands belong to a man who gives off negative energy." Like yes, but you could also imply that through other means instead of just spelling it out. The same goes for the main characters' internal feelings. Earlier in the book, the orc Ulgan talks about how he loves his sister but is sad that she lives so far away. She eventually decides to stay in town and he tells her how excited he is that she's staying, followed up by his internal monologue going "The news gives me a sense of contentment." Yes you just said that in dialogue! Why do we need it spelled out again! The entire book is like this.
The book also just....keeps going? There were maybe three or four chapters at the end of the book where I was like oh that was a nice end to the story! And then I'd turn the page and another chapter would start. It was like the author thought, well you've seen Ada and Ulgan go on dates and get together and say I love you, but what about It just didn't end!
Other than that, the female characters all feel pretty samey. They're all quirky and spunky and talk with the same cadences, to the point where I sometimes mixed up Ada's friends. The men got a little more diversity of personality. I like that Ulgan is supposed to be nerdy, but he doesn't seem super nerdy? His interests are baking and woodworking and he doesn't really talk to Ada about them too too much. I guess the nerdiness is just that he's a little shy?
HOWEVER. I really liked the setting! I loved the town of Whispering Springs, I loved hearing about all the little business and going with Ada and Ulgan to the fall festival, or to the local dive bar. I liked hearing about Ulgan's cafe and I wish it had stayed more relevant through the entire book. His cafe and Ada's job as an art teacher pretty much disappear as soon as they start dating and the book becomes all about that and doesn't even really mention their day to day lives anymore.
Final thoughts: This book is extremely corny and the writing is both not very good and also very jarring when the sex scenes come around. That being said I've been going through a tough time and really loved the cozy fall energy of a lot of this book so if you need that, then I say go ahead.
🧁 “You took my breath away the moment I laid eyes on you.” ~~~ Ada is an incredible woman! She’s kind, sweet, fun and has a heart of gold. I just loved her sunshiny personality. And she’s so bold and sassy, too! Even more, I absolutely loved Ada’s confidence and that she loved herself exactly the way she is. And I also loved that she never hesitated to stand up for herself. This art teacher is an amazing and inspiring woman and I adored her so, so much!
And then, there’s Ulgan - an orc as sweet as the baked goods he sells in his bakery! Ulgan is such a wonderful male - charming, considerate, thoughtful and caring. And at times, he’s so adorably awkward, which makes him even more irresistible. I’m pretty sure that if you look up the definition of “Consent King” in the dictionary, you’ll discover a picture of Ulgan there. Even more, I absolutely adored his fiercely protective and deliciously dominant sides, too! Honestly, Ulgan is the whole package and I couldn’t help but adore every single thing about him!
I absolutely loved everything that happened between Ada and Ulgan! The moment he sees Ada, Ulgan knows she’s meant to be his, and for months he’s been pining over her (very respectfully). And Ada has also been feeling the attraction, but, too, was hesitant to act upon it. I absolutely adored those two together! The sweet tension, their fun banters, every moment they spent together was an absolute delight to read. Even more, I absolutely adored how caring, understanding and supportive they were of each other. Ulgan and Ada were truly wonderful together! And when they finally gave into the undeniable need, the passionate moments they shared were so hot and I couldn’t get enough! Ada and Ulgan were so perfect for each other and absolutely deserved to find happiness and love together!
In addition, the worldbuilding was spectacular! I found myself absolutely loving Whispering Springs and all the people and monsters living there. Yeah, I’d happily move there anytime. And Rue and Theo absolutely won my heart, too! Ohhhh, I cannot wait to see what will happen between them.
Overall, Her Sweet Orc is such a cozy, charming, heart-melting, naughty and wonderful story. It feels like a warm, fluffy blanket and hot, sweet coffee on a cold autumn morning.
I couldn’t put it down, absolutely loved every page of it! And I cannot wait to revisit Whispering Springs again soon!
This was a really cute book involving a human artist and a baker orc. Both of them are shy and self conscious, making it difficult for either of them to make the first move.
With help from all of their friends who live in the small magical town, they are forced into close proximity and start getting to know one another.
But Elgie hasn't told Aida that she's his fated mate yet, what will she do when she finds out he's been keeping it from her since the very start? Read the book to find out lol.
I really enjoyed parts of this book, how sweet the Orc was to Aida and how he always got her consent for things. I also loved how confident Aida was in her full figure body, and her witch bestie too. The unique found family and the magical small-town events and vibes were my fav part of the book. The descriptions were spot on and I could imagine myself there.
One thing I wasn't fond of was the 3rd act breakup. It was one of those types that wasn't needed, and had no motivation for it- it didn't make sense with what we'd already been given of the characters. Making me dislike the FMC for acting dumb in order to hv a plot pinch point. Yet it didn't last very long or drag it out, so wasn't too big a deal. Another thing was small plot holes, things the author must've forgotten about the characters bc it was contradicted later- such as saying the FMC wasn't a morning person and needed coffee every day then saying she'd choose chocolate over coffee any day. These things didn't detract much, it just broke me out of the story when it happened.
The couple doesn't get together until the very end, def a slow burn with maybe two spice. But the book can be read alone with a HEA for the couple.
If you like monster romance with forced proximity, some instalove, fated mates, shy sunshine/sunshine, and knotting- I'd recommend for you. I'm def interested in the witch best friend and what's going on with the Orc's best friend Theo, I can see a second chance book for them in the future.
Read what makes you happy! And then tell me about it lol
Have I ever stopped yappin’ about a monster romance? No. I’m not gonna start now, so shut up and listen, because hoo boy, Ulgan really is somethin’ else. I love love love this book! It’s such a sweet, cozy romance with just a sprinkle of angst. I had a goofy ass grin on my face the whole time. Well, not the whole time. I think you know the portions I might have been distracted by. Ada kicks ass. She’s soft and precious but she’s not going to stand by and let the world hurt her. She knows what she wants and she takes it (you know, once she knows it’s consensual). Ulgan is just all kinds of perfect cinnamon roll; it was so easy to fall in love with him. Stomaching months of suffering just to make sure he doesn’t put any pressure on Ada. Poor baby. Even the best friends, Rue and Theo (book two?), chip in to help Ulgan grovel for the teeny weeny chunk of the story when he needs to apologize. And oh my gosh! The whole town of Whispering Springs is so damn charming! All the people are so sweet (except those few guys, but you’ll get there), and the friendships and family connections are so strong. Have I already said I love this book? I really love this book. You guys know I’m crazy about monster romances (and remember, this is a safe space), so you know I’m serious about this.
Did I fit enough baking related words in? I think it was 9. Some of them were really a stretch (I’ll take that one, too. 10).
5⭐️5🍩
Meg, you have a new fan for life. 🖤 I can’t wait to see what’s next. I’m especially excited for Love in Whispering Springs book 2 to see Theo and Rue because whatever this *waggles fingers* is very interesting.
