Fated Mates of the Varool #2

Possessed by the Alien Prince

Rate this book
I do not need to trust my fated mate. I need to claim her.

TANDY

Of all the crap I have to deal with, this takes the cake. The aliens blame me for shooting down the varoolian king’s shuttle. As a military colonel, I’ve wronged the warrior aliens in the past. But not this time.

I’ll offer anything to prove I didn’t do it—even my body. I’ll marry a Varool and use his access to find the real assailant.
I’m a soldier, not a pretty princess. So I’m stunned when the gorgeous prince claims me. Lun’s delicious touch sets me on fire.

But orders force me to tell one stinking lie after another. The more I get to know the brave, noble alien, the more I like him. And the more I worry he’ll hate me forever.

LUN

Dismay grips me as my brother’s damaged shuttle crash-lands in hostile wilderness. As prince of the Varool, I should focus on ruling my people. Yet I must know if my brother lives.

Although Tandy potentially ordered the missile strike, her smell snags my senses and sets my blood racing. She is my fated mate. Despite the danger, I claim her.

Our interests seem to align as we search the untamed planet, ready to discover the truth. Her beauty and strength tempt me at every turn, yet how can I trust her? Did she mate me to get close enough to kill me?

Possessed by the Alien Prince is a steamy enemies-to-lovers romance featuring an alien warrior hero, a bold heroine, and plenty of adventure with a guaranteed HEA.

Story: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ (4.5)
Trope: fated mates/enemies to lovers
Angst: 😱
Smexy: 🔥🔥🔥
Triggers: none

The humans did a great wrong against the Varoolian people, resulting in the loss of the Varoolian females and human males. Tandy is a colonel in the military and does her duty by marrying a Varoolian prince, but when the prince's brother's ship gets shot down by a missile, tension between the two stay high despite their mutual attraction.

This was a fantastic second book in the series. The storyline is fantastic and runs concurrently to the first book, providing a different perspective than the last story. I loved how the heroine was WAY different than the first. Super capable and torn between her duty as a military member to follow orders and to her new, (obviously) fated mate that she wants to please. Lots of simmering animosity and attraction between the two of them that makes for tons of smexual tension!

Possessed by the Alien Prince is the second book in the Fated Mates of Varool series by Krista Luna. It can be read as a standalone, but best enjoyed after when read in series order. The story is told in first person, dual perspective.

An AMAZING addition to the Varool Mates Series!

*****
In this next book in the Mates of Varool, we are taken back to see what transpired between Prince Lun (King Storr’s brother) and Tandy (Senior Military Leader and Colonel for the humans), when King Storr’s ship was shot down…

Prince Lun, oh my goodness, sexy, perceptive, and possessive... He is adamant about carrying out his brother's wish to make the treaty between humans and Varool work, but when his brother's ship is shot down, there is only one group that could be responsible... the humans. When Tandy, a human warrior, wants to investigate the missile strike and propositions his war minister, one sniff and he knows he needs to be the one to accompany her, because only married couples are permitted to visit Sagittarius One, and Tandy is his!

Tandy, I freaking loved her! She is a fierce, strong, bad a$$ that totally holds her own! Her sense of duty knows no bounds, so when she volunteers to marry Duke Grol so she can investigate and search for King Storr and Deirdre, she is floored (and maybe a little excited) when the prince steps forward instead.

These two have witty banter, white-hot chemistry, and their romance develops as they search for King Storr and those responsible for launching the missile. Tandy is a warrior and I am so happy that Prince Lun does not try to tame her. In many books the FMC goes from fierce to fragile the moment they hookup with the MMC but not in this book!

Once again, I was floored by the world-building in this book and I can totally picture Sagittarius One in my head! The storyline was captivating, the sexy times…steamy, and the characters were relatable and loveable! This book was simply… FANTASTIC and a must-read! This author has found a fan in me and I cannot wait to see what happens next!

This was a copy of the first book in this series. Just why? It’s not bad but the plot is exactly the same: they marry, fly to the planet, go hiking, he get’s hurt, a lot of distrust and some action and then the big showdown. There is a pet involved in both books too like really? The epilogue is the same too (happy ever after with pregnancy).
Yeah I liked it and had fun while reading but it was exactly the first book with more pages lol. Hope the next one is a new idea and not again a retelling.

A great sequel to this series. I really enjoyed this book. Tandy was accused of shooting down the Varoolian king's shuttle. In spite of the tensions between their people before the peace treaty, and the actions she had to take as a military colonel, she did not do this. Tandy is determined to not only prove her innocence, but find the one responsible as well by any means necessary. Prince Lun needs to know if his brother is still alive. He senses Tandy is his fated mate and claims her. They work together to find out what really happened. Can they trust each other on their quest to learn the truth, and face their growing feelings for each other? Loved it. Tandy was awesome and a fighter. She and Lun had great chemistry. 5 stars.

"Surely the Divine Mother has not given me a duplicitous, murderous mate?"

Lun is an Alien Prince who has already had an eventful day when life just keeps happening and he finds himself determined to go on a rescue mission... and telling an equally determined to go human woman, if she goes, it's with him.

Tandy has trust issues, probably part of the job description for the Chief of Security, and likely to be at the forefront the day a peace treaty is signed. Never before has doing her duty been a struggle... but the more she gets to know Lun the more she respects the code he lives by. A code that doesn't 100% align with her duty.

This done in one Kindle Unlimited quick read is a great second story in this series. It can be read as a stand alone, but is a richer read having read the first story. These characters do a great job of letting their actions speak louder than words, and reach that amazing point where they choose to see the person they've gotten to know, not who they assumed they were at first glance.

This is the second book I. This series and it is brilliant, the characters are amazing with two strong warriors one is human and one is a Varool warrior and now that they are married and as luck would have it she is his fated mate and make a perfect couple, strong of mind and body. Colonel Tandy Roberts is the head of Sercurtiy on Chandra Station and not long after the treaty was signed by King Storr and his new mate Deirdre consummated the marriage they departed to Sagittarius one planet but they are shot down and his brother Prince Lun believes the humans done it but Tandy knows it wasn’t them and to prove it she will go down to the planet to find out what happened with the missile that made them crash land on the planet but the only way to go down is if your married the Varool warrior so she picks the warrior in charge Duke Grol but the Prince steps in and takes her for himself because just one look and his second heart starts beating and that only happens with the mate. Now it is settled and they are married and they have consummated there marriage they depart to find the King and Queen and who ever launched the missile. Can these two learn to trust each other and find the answers they seek and with danger lurking around them can they survive and finds the others in time, all the while trying to keep how they really feel for each other. Great book, get it you won’t be disappointed at all.

Aliens, fated mates, and a warrior prince… Yes, please! Prince Lun and Tandy Roberts, a military leader and colonel, are forced to marry so they can go to Sagittarius One and hunt down the culprits who shot down Prince Lun’s brother’s ship. What starts as a marriage of convenience, quickly turns steamy. Tandy is such a strong, brave, and fearless character. It’s no wonder Prince Lun wants her! Their chemistry was off the charts. I loved the world-building and characters in this book. It was action-packed, suspenseful, sexy, and engaging. I couldn’t put it down! Thank you to the author for gifting me this incredible book in exchange for an honest review.

Lun and Tandy's Story . . .

Colonel Tandy Roberts was accused of ordering the missile strike that shot down the Varoolian King’s shuttle right after a peace treaty had been signed with Earth. But she did not do it and wants to find out who did. Prince Lun, the King’s brother, needs to know if his brother is still alive. He realizes Tandy is his fated mate so he claims her so they gain access to investigate this together. Will they be able to start trusting each other? Tandy is a strong female warrior who doesn’t back down. She is the perfect mate for Prince Lun if they survive long enough to figure that out.

This was a good story line with characters who are determined and won’t give up. Will they find what happened to the King? Grab your copy and follow the story.

This has the same great writing as the first book but is greatly improved by the dynamic the leads share. They just work together SO perfectly, their story of falling in love and learning to trust one another is fun to follow and believable.

Not much new world building as the set up is the same as the first book, taking our couple on a trip through the jungle. They work together very well though which made their shenanigans fun to watch.

Tandy is a fun lead, very confident and headstrong. She doesn’t take shit from anyone and isn’t afraid to get her hands dirty of the situation requires it. There are also wonderful moments that highlight her softness as well, showing that she’s a well rounded character.

Prince Lun is like the slightly less mature version of his brother. He’s not grumpy like Storr, more of a golden retriever kind of guy, which isn’t my type but was still fun to read about. I like him matched with Tandy because he really does just worship her. He doesn’t hold her back or underestimate her, at least not for long. He’s also willing to admit when he’s been wrong, which I really appreciate. The relationship they had with the puppy was also super fun.

Enemy's to lovers

Tandy Robert's is military and and has tryst issues but when she is accused of trying to shoot down the Varoolian kings shuttle she must work with his brother to prove her innocence. Prince Lun instantly knows Tamdy is his fated mate but could she really have tried to kill his brother? When they are thrown together trying to prove her innocence and find his brother their relationship heats up. This is such a fun and sexy read and the world building is excellent. I'm definitely going to be keeping an eye out for more in this series.

Tensions were high and the fate of their people rests in their hands, can they learn to trust one another and fight to save the planet they both need in order to sustain their species?

This is a fated mates alien human romance which picks up in the same timeline as book 1 so I highly recommend you read that first! This book brought the same fun vibes of fated mates and forced proximity (2 tropes I adore) and brought in different elements with the 2 MCs, 1 a prince and 1 a high ranking military officer. There is survivalist elements and lots of heat while they navigate the unfamiliar terrain of being a couple and qhat the planet throws at them-also there is an adorable pet they pick up along the way!

I was excited to be back on Sagitarian One. Tandy was hilarious and I loved the push and pull between her and Lun. Their relationship was so interesting to watch grow. I was even more excited about Kova. Weird alien pets are one of my favorite things. This series just keeps getting better and I’m excited for more.

I received an ARC in exchange for an honest review.

Possessed by the Alien Prince by Krista Luna is a Scifi Alien Warrior romance. It's the second book from the Fated Mates of the Varool.

Colonel Tandy Roberts was the security advisor to Admiral Hutchins. They were at their ship with the Varoolian prince and their people, when she was informed that a missile was launched. It seemed that it was headed straight for the shuttle carrying the Varoolian King and Deirdre Hutchins. Upon hearing this the Alien Warrior had the impression that this was a ploy of the humans. In order to prove them wrong and let her search for Deidre and Storr, she offered to marry one of them. Suddenly Prince Lun announced that she was his fated mate and only he would be married to her. After their mated session, they went in search of the shuttle.

I loved this book. Since reading the first one I was more familiar with the sci-fi genre and could understand it better. The plot is very simple and entertaining. It's solely focused on the rescue mission and the romance. It has many similarities with the previous book but it isn't identical. The love scenes are heated and come when you least expect them. The characters are likable and had good chemistry. Both of them are warriors, determined and caring. Here the roles seem to be reversed because Tandy is like Storr and Lun like Deidre. My favorite parts were: 1) when they found the pup and 2) the ending scene.

If you love sci-fi romance you need to read this series. I will rate it with 4,5 stars.

If you've read book one, you've read this book, just a few minor changes incl name changes the rest is the same even down to them finding out she's pregnant!

Really really pisses me off when authors do this. Regurgitate a previous book.

Their journey, their sex, their inner dialogue even.

Piss poor show frankly.

...and some reviews give this 5 stars, are they crazy???

A Prince and a Colonel have to get married if they want to land and investigate who tried to kill the King. Two warriors, trained to distrust each other, now have to face danger together, as a team and as husband and wife.
It is an amazing story where both characters have to face their beliefs, their duty with their people and the feelings they are developing for each other.

Who couldn't adore this book? It had just the right amount of spice, tension, action, deceit and bet

OH, GOD. OH, god. Oh, god. That thing is stinking huge!

THAT'S WHAT SHE SAID - okay so it's taken completely out of context but I could not resist it. It's even in my notes ... 🤣

Oh boy, is this one ever good. I laughed, a lot, got a little emotional, and cheered on my now favorite FMC!

A lot has gone down between the Varoolians and humans, tensions are high and when we left book 1, things were only starting to look up.

When the King's shuttle is shot down with a human missile, Prince Lun and Colonel Tandy Roberts decide they want to go down to investigate. The only problem is only mated pairs are allowed on the planet per the peace treaty.

Prince Lun, against the advice of council, agrees to join with the high commanding Colonel Tandy and bring the responsible party to justice.

Prince he may be, Lun is warrior through and through, and he's about to be tested to the extreme. Tandy is holding her code of silence, she can't tell him about the secret lab or their new queen's involvement in the virus that wiped out half of the populous. If she can't tell him about that, how is she going to ever be able to tell him that she was part of the decision to unleash the bio weapon?

***Spoiler Alert***
At first Tandy thinks the Prince is just some eye candy and it's wasn't a real hardship to consummate the marriage when the man's packing some serious heat in that department. The Prince, however, never underestimated his new mate - which is what she is, his second heart coming to life as they come together.

Getting planet side was a bit of an adventure and Tandy is pretty impressed by all the tech that the Varoolians have. When they have to set down a ways from the King's crashed transport, Tandy begins to realize that Lun isn't just some eye candy, the man is full of honor and respect. She can't help to begin to feel guilty for lying when it came time to select a location to travel to.

Having convinced Lun to head towards a guard base instead of the secret lab, Lun and Tandy run into troubles that pit the tenuous trust they have together against itself.

Along the way they find a wolv-wolf pup and Lun immediately is attached to it. It melted my heart for him just like it did to Tandy.

They have grown into a family of three by the time they make it to the guard shack where Tandy comes clean about her deceptions just in time for the Folri to attack.

Lun is a beast as he attacks them but in the end it is Tandy's hand-to-hand combat knowledge, aided by Varoolian armor, that saves the day.

We end a month later when we get to find out that this adorable family of three is expecting a new member!

Who couldn't adore this book? It had just the right amount of spice, tension, action, deceit and betrayal! Hands down a good book, I think better than Book 1 in my opinion because we weren't having all the world building that book 1 had. Instead of being focus on biology (because Deirdre is a biologist) we get a focus on the physical world (because Tandy is no slouch).

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️, 🌶🌶 - spice is evenly spread too, huge bonus for that - and a 😱😱 on angst - another perfect blend throughout the book.

I think this is a 3.5 on the lower end for me?

Hmm I'm a bit torn with how I feel about this book. I didn't read the previous book before it, but it did have enough plot wise to understand what was happening. However although it's described I didn't get that much insight to what the Varool are - like as aliens. There is a mention though (which I didn't care for) about how Lun says in passing the difference between Tandy's body vs Varool women that he is used to. I think steam wise - it's hot to medium hot, however I was not feeling the bond between Tandy and Lun that well.

I'm guessing the fated mates in this universe isn't that compelling in some ways - since Lun does mention how he doesn't trust Tandy and wouldn't hesitate to kill her if she's betrayed him and his people. I do not think there is anything wrong with Lun thinking that way, he is a prince, but it did feel like the fated mate part of it was unnecessary. That's because I did think that Tandy and Lun (besides being physically compatible) do fall for each other organically enough that factor wasn't needed. Since both Lun and Tandy are also more driven by their own causes, I did feel that their emotional love to each other wasn't that interesting. I wasn't really finding much depth in each other that made me compelled to really root them on. In addition it could just because I dived in - that I didn't understand too much of the gravity of what was happening in this book as well, and why they had to do things the way they did.

Overall if anything the steam was good to read and hot - that I'd still be interested in read other books. I did think that this just wasn't my cup of tea couple mostly, also since they describe Lun as a ginger smelling type of guy.

Can these enemies work together?

As I girl who loves sci-fi I do tend to love me some alien romance books. I walked into this one without having read the first in the series, and honestly it’s not necessary to read the first one, but I probably would have enjoyed getting more of the world building. That being said it was plenty enjoyable without the first book.
I like enemies to lovers books, but normally there is more of a build up, but with this book there literally couldn’t be. Tandy and Lun need to go to the planet in question to find his brother and make sure the treaty between the humans and the aliens hold, but the treaty says that only married couples can go down to the planet. So Lun and Tandy (she’s an awesome kick booty military woman) get married and consummate the marriage so early in the book. But even with that these two have to figure out a way to decide if they can trust each other. They have different cultures and different ways of doing things. Lun comes from a world that is super respectful of the environment and is technologically advanced, whereas Tandy comes from a culture that is just struggling to survive and therefore are only concerned with survival.
Of course a common goal can do a lot to get to people to at the very least learn to respect each other. And enter in the most adorable little puppy and it really helps to break the ice between the two of them. They have to overcome enemies, wild animals, challenge of geography and technology, and they do it together. I really like the two of them together. It was a suspenseful fun read, that I definitely enjoyed.
