On a Christmas morning that promised festivity, Hohyun awakens to a nightmare, his dormitory transformed into a fortress of horror. Isolated from the outside world, this new reality is overrun with zombies, their bodies a macabre display of blackened gore, insatiably hungering for human flesh. The surreal scene casts Hohyun into a fight for survival, far removed from any semblance of holiday cheer.
In the midst of this chaos, Hohyun encounters Youngwon, a mysterious figure whose prowess with a fire axe against the undead is as intimidating as it is impressive. Youngwon, strangely familiar with Hohyun's identity, quickly becomes an indispensable ally in this twisted battle for life. Despite the omnipresent shadow of death, Hohyun finds himself drawn to Youngwon's enigmatic presence and unwavering commitment to his protection. Their journey, blurred between life and death, right and wrong, forges a bond that could be either their salvation or downfall.
(this is not a danmei, it is a korean BL novel, I just don't have a whole tag for that which is why its under my "danmei" tag for right now)
This was a really fun first volume! I knew kind of nothing going into this besides that its a zombie apocalypse and I really liked this author's other book "Profundis." It was a bit repetitive of the oh no zombies, find somewhere to hide, there are people there, oh no zombies, run, find somewhere new to hide, there are people, oh no- which I know is most zombie stories, but this one happening 3 times in 200 pages was a bit much
There's also definitely something else cooking in the background here... I feel like something bigger is coming in upcoming volumes and I'm so excited to continue!!
Zombies. What more can I say? I could not put this down. I'm so confused and intrigued. Youngwon was so harsh but there is something more there. I can't wait until Volume 2. I need Hohyun and Youngwon to have their HEA
Started with the manhwa first and fell in love with the plot characters and romance, absolutely obsessed and immediately bought all four available volumes
The story is interesting but the translation is unbearably bad. I feel that the manhwa's translation is a lot more accurate to what the characters are actually saying and more coherent.
