Even if that temptation comes in a six-foot-two package of quiet intensity.
As an undercover agent with the FBI on an all-male team, she’s learned the only person she can trust is herself. She worked hard, proving herself to be an asset, but after completing an undercover mission that still haunts her, she decides to leave the FBI and join Elite Securities. It’s one of the easiest decisions she’s ever made, but that doesn’t mean she can let down her guard. The lessons she learned at the beginning of her career are still relevant, which means as the only female on the team, she’ll need to work twice as hard to be respected.
With everyone except Ethan Davis.
He’s unlike anyone she’s ever met.
They have an immediate connection that’s hard to ignore, and she trusts him in a way that she’s never trusted anyone. When they’re forced to go undercover together, their simmering attraction ignites, and they cross lines neither of them ever intended.
But giving in to temptation has consequences.
And some may be too hard to overcome.
This is the fourth book in a spin-off series of The Dimarco Series. Can be read as a standalone. Many characters from The Dimarco Series will appear in this story.
Jennifer Hanks is a busy author and mom. Her stories are contemporary romance and romantic suspense, all with the underlying message of the power and strength in love. She’s also a sucker for a Happily-Ever-After. Her love of reading and books in general started at a very young age and has steadily grown into a love of writing as well. She admits to being addicted to all things romance and has no plans of quitting her habit. Jennifer lives in Pennsylvania with her two children. When she’s not reading or writing, she can be found with her kids at their various activities. Her house is frequently filled with any combination of her children’s friends, nieces, nephews and a variety of pets.
Fantastic! Absolutely fantastic! I truly love this series and Mila’s book was a real pager tuner. The guys of Elite security are some of my most favorite characters. A few new guys have been added in and I loved getting to know Ethan. Brody, Jax, Stryker, Nick and Kyle…gosh I’ve missed them! This series doesn’t get near the love it deserves! Looks like I am gonna have to wait a bit on Kyle’s book but no doubt it’ll be worth the wait…especially if his heroine is Stryker’s sister!
This was a fantastic addition to the Elite Securities series. Familiar faces we’ve come to know and love are featured throughout the book along with some newer ones I look forward to getting to know more of. Book four itself brings readers Mila and Ethan story which features plenty of suspense, with some romance added along the way, and I was hooked form start to finish.
Being the first female to join the Elite family Mila feels as though she has a lot to prove, her thoughts are mainly down to the experiences she’d had within her previous job. What she wasn’t expecting was to be respected for who she is, and made to feel part of a family, a family that she could trust and depend on. She also wasn’t expecting the connection she felt towards Ethan, one of her new work colleagues. Ethan is unlike any other man Mila has known or trusted before. When the pair are forced to work undercover together their connection deepens and the simmering attraction between them ignites, resulting in the pair crossing lines which further results in repercussions, now the question is, can they be overcome or not? Trust me you’re going to want, no, need to read My Temptation and discover the answer for yourself.
I honestly love this series, can’t get enough, and look forward to what’s next. Ms Hanks, it was a pleasure, ‘till next time.
A fun, easy read with lots of suspense and steamy connections. The part I enjoyed the most was the feeling of being back with a cherished family. The author has created a cast of characters so relatable, loveable, fun, and comforting, it feels like coming home every time you open one of her books. This is book four in the series. It can be read as a standalone, but to enjoy the cast of characters I encourage reading the complete series. This book introduces us to Mila, the only female on the Elite team. Coming from the FBI Mila is used to working twice as hard to prove she has what it takes to succeed in a man’s world. She will do all she can to prove her worth with Elite as well. Even if it means denying the smoldering attraction to co-worker Ethan. But when they are sent undercover together, the smolders become flames too hot to ignore. Mila is a complex character battling many demons. She needs to overcome those before she can accept that she is worthy of love. In addition to Mila’s internal struggle, she is also questioning the circumstances of her mother’s death and trying not to get in the cross hairs of their current assignment. The author gives us plenty to focus on and keep the pages turning. Another great read! I read an ARC of this story. My fair and honest review is voluntary.
I don’t know what it is about Jennifer Hanks’s writing, but every time I read her newest book, I want to start a reread from the very beginning!
It’s been a while since I’ve posted. There’s been a lot going on in my personal life and I just haven’t read too many books lately that I truly loved. Leave it to one of my favorite authors to get me out of a reading slump!
I’m not sure how Jennifer manages to do it, but every character/couple feels different. I’ve found that with a lot of series, the characters tend to blend. Sure, they all may share certain similar qualities (*cough* possessive men *cough*), but each character truly feels like their own person.
I didn’t recall much about Ethan and Mila from the previous books, and maybe I should’ve done a couple rereads first. But I truly loved learning who they were along the way. Mila is such a strong, independent, confident character and Ethan was definitely very cautious. I liked that they balanced each other and didn’t want the other to change.
And can we take a moment for Brody summoning his inner Jack Dimarco! I miss me some Jack, but Brody did so well speaking as his dad.
Once again, I’m begging all of you to read Jennifer Hanks’s books immediately!
It's Mila and Ethan's story! I love being in the Elite Securities/Dimarco Brothers world. Mila, coming to Elite from the FBI, needing out of her dad's scrutinizing eyes, also working extra extra hard in proving herself in her career where men dominate. The story does overlap with the couple and drama from book 3. I love seeing all the guys in Elite and seeing some of the Dimarco's. I just love how JH intertwines these characters together. I absolutely enjoyed Mila and Ethan together. Ethan was all heart and I love that about his character. Can't wait for more!!!!!
Ok I love reading Jennifer Hanks books because they always make me feel at home with old time friends. I had to give this one a 4 stars because I felt the beginning was repetitive from the Las book of this series only with Mila and Ethan's pov and I felt it wasn't needed. Other than that fantastic read.
I love that Mila is the first female to join Elite and she feels like she has a lot to prove. She wasn't expecting Ethan or the rest of the team and it was great seeing her learn to be part of the family and that she could trust. Plenty of suspense along with some romance.
Bored. Up to this point, not much of the storyline is new. We are re-visiting prior books but now from new character POVs. This is a HUGE pet peeve of mine. Now I’m bored and have no desire to continue the book. Makes me sad.
I really liked this story. There were so many twists and turns with a satisfying ending. I can't wait to see where this series goes. So far it is really great!
Trust me when I say the wait for this book was worth it. My only complaint would be that I read it to fast, but I can't help myself when it comes to Jennifer's books!
Yeah, Ms. Hanks for giving us Mila. She's tough. Tougher than her male counterparts, because you have to be in a male oriented career. She's also got a father who expects a lot and has set a standard.
When she joins the Elite Securities team, some things have changed and others seem like they'll never change. Sent undercover with Ethan their attraction is just too hard to resist. Their mission is intense. They must protect a woman from criminals intent on making her give them information and most likely intending to kill her after.
As usual, Hanks gives us plenty of action, intrigue and romance all of which combine for a very enjoyable novel. I have liked ever one of her books that I've read.
