The first bed was too hard. The second was too soft. But the third was just right…At least, until I woke up from my exhausted nap and discovered that its owner was watching me sleep — and when I screamed at the sight of the bear’s hungry expression, he shifted from a grizzly beast to the most, grizzled hunk of male I’ve ever seen before…

He’s not alone, either. There are two more bear shifters who call this cabin home, and who decide they like the sight of me sleeping in one of their beds. They like the smell of me, too, and suddenly the warning I got before I entered the dark forest of Blackmoor makes sense.

Legend says the enchanted woods host a whole slew of monsters who might want to eat you if you get lost in the trees.

These three? They want to eat me — and that’s not all. They want to feed me, pet me, please me… and now that I’ve willingly walked into their den, the possessive bears aren’t about to let me leave again.

Before long, I don’t even want to. Because while one of my mates is too big, another too smothering, and the third too possessive… put them together and the three of them are just right.

My Rating: 2 and a half stars

For being such a quick read, this was more on the side of meh than good. The overall story is plain and simple. The thin plot gets abandoned halfway through and then magically resolves itself within the epilogue without the heroine's help. The chemistry between everyone was a bit iffy. They had their believable moments, but they were few and far between.

One thing I will comment on is the grammatical errors and the just plain wrong usage of words/weirdly misspelled words. There were moments where I thought I was going crazy and made a point to look up some of the words, and it still didn't make sense within the context of the sentence. I started off doing my best to ignore it (because it takes A LOT of grammar errors to make me annoyed enough to mention it in a review), but by the end of the book, I was at the end of my rope. This could have used an extra round or two of grammar editing and just proofreading in general.

My Opinion: This book unfortunately didn’t work for me. Firstly, the central premise of it seemed to get abandoned by the end. The heroine enters this magical forest determined to either find her best friend, who’s been missing for four years, or at least uncover what happened to her. She’s told that if she stays in the forest for three weeks, she’ll be granted a wish, which she plans to use to find out what happened to her best friend if she can’t locate her.

Secondly, because the story is told entirely from the heroine’s perspective, we only ever see the heroes through her perception. We only get a look into their overall demeanour, but very little insight into who they actually are or why they are the way they are beyond the surface level. So, when the book does drop bits of deeper backstory or emotional context, they feel more like random reveals than moments that truly resonate. For example:

Third, I didn’t really feel the connection between the heroine and the heroes beyond the physical.

Fourth and finally, I didn’t like the heroine, and I didn’t like that the heroes didn’t establish early on that the heroine was their mate and that they intended to share her. Because they didn’t do that, the heroine makes some iffy decisions that just didn’t sit right with me (see below).

Hero 1: 4/5. Finn is the youngest brother and he and Colt are twins. He was quite innocent, but he was also just a sweetheart who wanted Goldie to be happy.
Hero 2: 3/5. Colt is the middle brother and he and Finn are twins. He seemed quite flirty but more on the serious side.
Hero 3: 3/5. Rowan is the oldest brother. He was very broody and serious, and he kept his distance from Goldie in the beginning because he knew that if he let himself have her, he wouldn’t want to let her go.
Heroine: 1/5. Goldie was not a likeable character in my opinion. Her determination at the beginning to find her friend seemed commendable, but in the end, she abandoned the search very quickly. I also hated how she went about developing relationships with the heroes.

She also seemed incredibly waffly about what her intentions were, and I didn’t like that it seemed like she wanted to manipulate and use the heroes in the beginning and then leave when it was time.

POV: 1st person POV (Goldie).

Push/Pull:

Sadness: 0/5.

Explicit Sex and Spice Level: Yes. 3/5.

OW (Other Woman)/OM (Other Man) Drama: No.

Separation:

Cheating: No.

Closure/Ending: HEA.

Fine. Nothing really wrong with it. I just didn’t click in with the characters. Goldilocks and her 3 bears. The men had distinct personalities and they were easy to keep apart but the story was a bit hokey. It would have benefitted from multiple POVs.

Monsters (3 bear shifters). 3 brother MMCs. FMMM. 4some with no sword crossing. “I’m not good enough” vibes from the MMCs. Woman looking for her friend (finds her in wintery epilogue). Spit roasting. Stuffing. Huge cocks. Sloppy seconds. Cock warming. Virgin MMCs. Fated mates. Enchanted woods. Goldilocks and her 3 bears. Single (FMC) POV. Sharing. No OMD/OWD. No cheating. No breakup. No pregnancy.

Love this series!

This is one of my favorite monster novella series. Sarah always does such a fantastic job 🥰 I also love that (spoiler) the FMC was more than willing to be with all three guys. At first she was confused if it was okay but she was more than half when it was assured to her. Also so excited for the next one ❤️🫡
