TOGETHER FOREVER

While there's no doubt that Hitsuji loves his boyfriend Hatoyama and young son Hinata, taking the leap into cohabitation is something he's done his best to avoid. So much so that even when he's forced to leave his apartment so it can be painted, he decides to stay at an internet cafe rather than impose on Hatoyama! When Hatoyama hears about this, he can't help but feel hurt that Hitsuji is refusing to rely on him. But rather than let the situation continue, Hatoyama instead makes a proposal -- Hitsuji will move in with him and Hinata until the work on his apartment is done! Will this new living arrangement finally take their relationship to the next level? Find out in the heartwarming final volume of Delinquent Daddy and Tender Teacher!

I didn't realise this was the last volume until I finished it and read the author's note. It was really sweet and I think it tied up things nicely.

⋆˙⟡♡ A single dad finds love with his kid's teacher, who also happens to be his former high school classmate ⋆˙⟡♡

Delinquent Daddy and Tender Teacher was such a sweet journey. I loved every second I spent reading about these three and I adored how it all wrapped up. I didn't expect an epilogue but I was so happy to see it!!! A "years later" epilogue with the couple is always a WIN in my bag ⸜(。˃ ᵕ ˂ )⸝♡

nooo, don’t end

I’m so gutted that this is the last volume but it was handled really well. We got to see more character development from them all and even a glimpse into the future with Hinata growing up and learning about his dad’s relationship. This series was such a joy to read and I’d definitely recommend it to anyone looking for a wholesome story centering around found family, new beginnings, and a general slice of life. I’m happy I own the whole series and looking forward to reading more of the mangaka’s work.

I’m so sad that it’s over. This is so cute and wholesome, and I need it to be a 20+ volume series. 😭

I will miss all of these characters, but this is such a heartwarming story from start to finish.

This series was truly adorable all the way through, and I love everything that we got throughout, and especially this ending with the time skip. It warmed my heart and soul.

I can't believe this journey is over. I loved this couple so much and I really enjoyed watching them grow as characters. I would have loved ten more volumes of them, but hopefully the next series Mizuki writes is just as wholesome or eye-catching.

Also, shout out to the author for giving us a glimpse of the future. I loved seeing the relationship between the two MCs in the future and how the son reacts to their growing love when he's a teenager. I really appreciated the epilogue-like chapter and how much closure it gave me.

And the choices made in this volume? Brilliant. I loved that the one MC chose what worked best for him and decided to be inspired enough to take that risk.

Seriously, this series is so wholesome and just beautiful. The artwork, the pacing, the slice of life quality that is sometimes needed to escape this fire-filled world was fantastic.

Happy reading!

4.5 stars rounded up for this lovely final volume

This series has been so warm-hearted and beautifully done from the beginning, and while I'm sad to say goodbye to this little family, they've all undergone significant growth throughout. It will definitely be a series worth revisiting.

Super cute last volume. I liked the time jumps to glimpse how they are in the future. The bonus "if" story was adorable as well.

It's still a bit silly to me that they would wait until second year of junior high to tell Hinata that his two dads are dating. Did he just...not notice for years? Did no one (friends, etc) comment on the fact that it is not usual for two grown dudes to share a house like that?

Still, I did really like seeing Hinata more "grown up" and reacting to things differently than he would've as a sweet little kid. That was a fun bonus story at the end, and a nice way to wrap things up.

Hitsuji, especially, made so much progress in this volume. It took him this long to get to a point where he was truly confident in himself and his goals and able to explicitly ask for what he wants - including moving in together once he quit his job at the school.

That was a nice progression for him, too. Hatoyama's been making big strides in renovating and running a cafe, Hinata's gained a lot of self-confidence and a bunch of friends, and Hitsuji is able to spend more time thinking about the parts of teaching that appeal to him the most and play to his strengths. He likes teaching, and he's grateful Hatoyama had thought, many years before, that he'd make a good teacher. But what he really wants to do is run his own tutoring and counseling school, for the extra one-on-one personalized help that regular teachers just don't have the capacity (or the authority, really) to do.

It's a nice path for him, and this was a very satisfying volume. Still didn't end up being the major 5 star series I was hoping for initially, but it's a very sweet and gentle story about building a family and figuring out different types of futures.

This was such a cute ending to their story. Hitsuji had to, once again, overcome his struggle to rely on Hatoyama, but in the end, he finally accepted that without it, their relationship wouldn’t be as strong. He also decided to follow his dreams and start something on his own, and with Hatoyama (and also Hinata’s) help, it will definitely work out. I also love their friendship to the other couple, and we also saw Hinata face some challenges with the other kids - but all worked out just fine. The bonus chapter in the end was honestly the icing on the cake. Hinata finally knows and the way he accepted them was just beautiful - but I mean, it’s nothing new to him than a label, right? This is such a cute story, Hinata is definitely my favourite child character for now, and the spicy scenes are also fitting. Definitely recommend this series, and with six volumes it has the right length.

The story is mostly still a slow burn here up until the end when we suddenly jump forward several years so Hinata is now in junior high, and somehow has always considered the three of them family, but didn't put together that Hatoyama and Hitsuji were in a romantic relationship until his dad cornered him in the baths. We do get some cute family scenes at the end though where their dreams are coming true and Hinata is a rather responsible and helpful young man. The ending feels somewhat incomplete and rushed as a result, though the story itself is still cute and it's good to see that they are still together as a family even years later.

More of a 3.5 star rating but gave it 4 stars because this was an extremely sweet and wholesome BL series.
I really like that aside from a (very) brief scare involving Hinata, this entire final volume was filled with Hitsuji and Hatoyama have a lovely time just enjoying each other’s company and moving forward in the next stage of their lives together. Also, the last chapter being a time-jump and having some additional bonus content was absolutely adorable to read. It made me sad that this series was on the shorter side since I wish for more content of this precious little family.

This was cute, I didn’t realize it was going to be the end of the series! The message in this is solid, I’m proud of the characters for how they grew and matured, but I feel like it was just okay in the end. I still liked it though. I loved the ending bonus chapter with Hinata a bit more grown up, though I don’t know how they managed to not tell him they were boyfriends for so many years living together??? Insanity. But I still liked it, and I liked the last extra panel of him in his high school uniform. Very cute.

This was such a sweet ending to this series! 💖🥺💖 I can’t believe it’s over!

I’m glad we got to see Hinata a little older and how easily he accepted that Hatoyama and Hitsuji are together 😭 He was so sweet and supportive. Truly so grown up!

It was great, too, to see Hitsuji pursue his goals and accomplish them. I’m glad he and Hatoyama moved in together and made such a lovely and supportive life with Hinata!

I don’t want to let go of these characters, but it was truly a delight to follow them! 💖

My favorite series in the genre! I am so sad it is the final volume, but what a beautiful way to end. It was nice to see Hiroaki and Keiichi grow so much on their own as they work toward their personal goals and to see their growth as a family. As a parent, this one hit me in the feels. I was not ready to see Hinata grow up so quickly, but it was nice to see how he’s been influenced by Keiichi and Hiroaki over time. Such a thoughtful kiddo!

Loooove childcare stories. Very sweet, wholesome, and easy to read. This didn't feel like the end of the series, but I'm sort of glad it is because the "issues" were honestly getting pretty repetetive and broing. Like good grief just keep it moooooving.

Hoooowever if they had continued the story into Hinata going into middle and high school I wouldn't have minded because I did like the glimpse of it in the bonus story.

This was such a sweet ending to such a lovely series. Hitsuji and Hatoyama's story wrapped up in such a way with them doing what they had to do to be together forever, and the epilogue with Hinata finding out they were together was the cherry on top to such a wholesome story about love and family. I strongly recommend this series if you are looking for something light and fluffy to put a smile on your face.

The ending was okay. I feel like the new kid introduced was usurped as they were absent here. I am glad they told his son 4 years later that they are in a relationship?? I thought this kid was supposed to be so smart??? The art is nice.

Still don’t know how I feel about the subplot of the other teacher and the cafe boss…

Honestly some of the choices in this series feel odd for how cozy and cute it is supposed to be. But I’m happy that these two figured it out.

Ah, it’s over? :*-(

Well, it was a good ending. The artwork is consistently excellent throughout this series. The story is sweet. The main characters are solid in their relationship at this point, so the emphasis is on building their family. All three members of said family have satisfying growth arcs within the series.
I highly recommend and expect I will re-read many times.
