This book was so damn good. I read it in one night! Anyways the connection Anthony and Ashlynn has was perfection and the way their love was written I could feel it seeping out of the book! The book is spicy, sweet, and an upsetting cause of course men are stupid hehe 😉 but it was so damn good!

There are so many ups and downs in the story, Anthony is a professional BMX rider whilst Ashlyn is an aspiring author.
They had an intense connection during high school which was harshly ended by Ashlyn when they randomly reconnect and their journey to get their happy ending begins.

I think this is a sweet love story with some super emotional moments, you get to see the vulnerability of each of the MCs. The side characters and their snippets are full sass, sweet and funny elements ♥️

I loved this story and the only reason this is a 3 star read for me is that the writing came across as a little jumpy at times which affected the flow of the story. I think it’s an amazing debut book and can’t wait to see more from this author and watch their development with all their future books

I am so honoured to say I got to ARC read this book! It blew all my expectations. I fell in love with it instantly. The romance between the MMC and the FMC was steamy and delicious right from the start you could feel the tension between these two. As they described it “a pull” Anthony was just a loveable MMC he did have his issues but don’t we all, I fell in love with his character whilst reading this book and he was definitely in the Swoonworthy category! The way he calls Ashlynn “Ashlynn baby” MELTS my heart 🖤

DNF at 20%.
I have to start this by saying I was really excited to read this book. The premise had a lot of promise. I loved everything I was seeing on Instagram. But I had a really hard time reading this book. The writing style, was unnecessarily wordy, and I found myself skimming paragraphs. The conversations felt repetitive, as we’ve already read what’s coming in the internal dialogue.There’s also an excessive use of exclamation points.
I’m grateful I had the opportunity to be part of the ARC process, but this book just wasn’t for me.

This book was one of my most anticipated reads of the month! I was so excited to get a BMX romance - not something I had ever considered to be a thing. I’m not sure about you, but I had the fattest crushes on BMX riders and Skater boys hahaha no shame here. When I saw the tropes for this, I was so excited to read this book.
Despite how long this book was, I was surprised at the fast-paced plot-line I got! The main couple got together fairly quickly - faster than I honestly thought was possible. It felt like a whirlwind romance. They were doing things left and right and I felt like I was unable to keep up with them! Still, I enjoyed every word on the pages with all of my heart!
Even though it was fast-paced, we of course had the idiot moment where Anthony was a dumbass. In his defense, he was entitled to his one screw-up. Ashlyn had hers when she dumped him in high school and Anthony had his moment when they reunited once they broke up.
I cannot recommend this book enough!

So! Many! Exclamation! Marks!
(The Good) The premise of this book is good. I really enjoyed the story overall, as well as both main characters and supporting. I adore a second chance romance, and it was sweet. I loved the music references throughout the book and as the chapter titles. A lot of the songs were ones I listened to in high school, and that brings a sense of nostalgia, which ties the theme of the book together a bit.
(The not good) Along with the high school nostalgia, the amount of Exclamation marks sprinkled into every other sentence made it feel as though it was written by someone actually in high school.
It felt unnecessarily wordy, and the book probably could have been edited down at least 100 pages.
Anyways, this is a new author (I believe?). I would definitely give her next book a read, as I liked the story as a whole, and hopefully the writing flows a bit better without so many "!!!!!"

This was a really good read! Anthony and Ashlynn's connection was perfection. The way you can feel their love basically seeping from the pages is exactly what I look for in a romance. The spicy bits had me nearly swooning 😉while I was either giggling at the sweet moments or wanting to throw the Kindle over some of the choices and weeping at others.
There is a third act break up, however it is fully worth it! And that is coming from someone who typically hates them. This book is equal parts sweet, emotional, and spicy and so damn good! I will continue to rave about this book till I turn blue in the face!

These two burn so hot! Their chemistry is undeniable and the love they share makes every come alive. I am not usually a fan of third act break ups but it fits in this story.

If you want a different kind of sport romance, this one is for you. The MMC is a part of the BMX world and I had so much fun learning more about the sport!
Without spoiling, the connection with the MCs kept me hooked since the beginning of the story. I’m a big sucker for cinnamon roll boyfriends and instalove.
My favorite character in this book is the sidekick best friend Neha. I can’t wait for her story 😊

I really loved the story and the romance between Ash and Anthony. It was sweet and spicy, with tension and real world drama.
This book has a lot of potential! I felt it could do with an extra round of editing (I read an arc, so it's possible this happened before publication) and proofreading. Additionally, I wish there was a glossary of BMX terms for those of us who are unfamiliar. It was hard to envision the tricks when I didn't know what they were.
Overall the was a good debut novel for Ash Ryan! I am invested in these characters now and wanna see what comes next for them!

This was such a fun read! I just recently got into sports romance books, and this one was so different than any I’ve read so far. The chemistry between Ashlynn and Anthony was amazing. There were several moments when I wanted to smack Anthony, but he came back with a vengeance and stole my heart again. I absolutely loved the bond between all of the characters (except Brock…yuck). It was definitely a found family vibe, and that always warms my heart. Also, the songs for every chapter were such a fun addition! Ash, fantastic job with this one. I can’t wait for more of the Drop-In series! 🖤

Debut book by Ash Ryan! Amazing read! Ash and Anthony have such a wonderful story. The writer Ash and the BMX rider Anthony, lost love. We get to be in their thoughts about how they feel and I love it so much. I got so mad at Anthony but I forgive and then fall in love with him! I loved all the characters. Such a great read!!

this book was truly something special and it means so much more to me that I get to share such a positive review for a new author who is truly the kindest soul. This book was read in one sitting and I couldn’t put it down. I love sports romances but have never read a BMX romance and this did not disappoint as I quite literally will be searching for more till book 2 comes out. The banter in this book is amazing, the friendships we see build is awe inspiring, the spice is just right, and it makes you keep wanting more. The characters in this book will make you fall in love with them, their stories, and relationships and while im usually not too emotional, this book made me feel it all which is a huge compliment to the author. If you want a cute, spicy, sports romance, look no further!

I loved it Anthony I love him I did get mad for a little of time you will understand once you read it but I did forgive him so I absolutely love him. Ashlynn my girl been went through some stuff
Nick cracks me up lol he funny one and my other girl Neha she is the best and wild in the best way possible I loved them all except for Ryan and Mika she was alright she wasn't really bad .ashlynn mom is piece of work not in a good way .I loved this so much I never read a book about BMX it was fun and how excited everyone got for it even Cora she was hyped up
The spicy scenes oh so damn good ,had me smiling so much my husband was staring at me 🥰
My favorite part was the bathroom scene where they go to the bar that's all I will say 😍😍 😂😂

“Tailwhip” is Ash Ryan’s debut and what a great beginning! A unique romance centering around the world of extreme sports, BMX riding in particular, takes the reader on a journey all over the U.S. with FMC Ashlynn & MMC Anthony as they embark on their second chance at loving each other.
Beginning in Frisco, Colorado we meet Ashlynn, 22 year old freelance ghost-writer and former girlfriend of Anthony. Anthony & Ashlynn were high school sweethearts, but as it turns out that Ashlynn “took one for the team” so to speak and broke up with Anthony at the end of their senior year. Ashlynn did this so that Anthony would go off and become a wildly successful pro BMX rider in Greenville, North Carolina and NOT stay back in Colorado to be with her.
Ashlynn is recently thrown for a loop when we first meet her. Neha, her best friend (and fellow writer), informs Ashlynn that she (Neha) will be interviewing pro BMX riders, skateboarders and other types of extreme sports-professionals at an up coming event near them. Knowing that Anthony will be competing, Neha suggests that Ashlynn tag along and perhaps see Anthony for the first time in four years.
Fast forward to the competition, and Ashlynn is surprised while on line at the whiskey tent by a familiar voice saying “Ashlynn, baby”. From there Ashlynn and Anthony attempt to slowly reunite, which ends up becoming completely futile when Anthony flies Ashlynn to Dallas to spend time with him. Old flames burn hot and their chemistry quickly becomes undeniable. Beginning with a steamy AF shower (pun intended), Ashlynn and Anthony sizzle on the page over and over again, while Anthony’s dirty mouth had me needing to cool off.
There were so many wonderful details to this book. Song titles accompanying every chapter truly set the tone for each, while throughout the book we are introduced to and get to know so many amazing characters that I hope will “drop in” with their own stories. Found family is one of my favorite tropes and “Tailwhip” does that exceedingly well. Anthony & Ashlynn build an amazing and large family around them between Anthony’s team and Ashlynn’s friends. I can’t wait to see what the future has in store for the Overbear team members, Neha, Cora and Heath!
All in all, “Tailwhip” is a great alternative sports/second chance romance, and a fabulous debut for Ash Ryan!

Fast forward to the competition, and Ashlynn is surprised while on line at the whiskey tent by a familiar voice saying “Ashlynn, baby”. From there Ashlynn and Anthony attempt to slowly reunite, which ends up becoming completely futile when Anthony flies Ashlynn to Dallas to spend time with him. Old flames burn hot and their chemistry quickly becomes undeniable. Beginning with a steamy AF shower (pun intended), Ashlynn and Anthony sizzle on the page over and over again, while Anthony’s dirty mouth had me needing to cool off.
There were so many wonderful details to this book. Song titles accompanying every chapter truly set the tone for each, while throughout the book we are introduced to and get to know so many amazing characters that I hope will “drop in” with their own stories. Found family is one of my favorite tropes and “Tailwhip” does that exceedingly well. Anthony & Ashlynn build an amazing and large family around them between Anthony’s team and Ashlynn’s friends. I can’t wait to see what the future has in store for the Overbear team members, Neha, Cora and Heath!
All in all, “Tailwhip” is a great alternative sports/second chance romance, and a fabulous debut for Ash Ryan!

This was such a fun book to read and I loved it! This isn’t a normal sports romance but a pro-BMX sports romance. Anthony our MMC is a pro-BMX rider who hasn’t returned to his home state for 4 years. Our FMC Ashlynn is an aspiring writer who has watched or been to a BMX show in over 4 years. Until finally these two meet again and get their second chance at a relationship again. This was such a sweet second chance high school relationship and I loved how these two explained the pull they had to each other and knew when the other was close by and all feelings came rushing back. The chemistry between Ashlynn and Anthony was everything and you knew they were meant for each other from the first time they met each other again and how they spoke about the other to their friends or in their minds. Our MMC Anthony’s nickname for Ashlynn was “Ashlynn, baby” and it made me swoon every time those two words came out of his mouth. Even though there is a third-act break-up both Anthony and Ashlynn redeem themselves and even though Ashlynn forgave Anthony he came back with everything and won my heart over again. I LOVED that every chapter title was a different song title that related to both of these characters and what was happening in that chapter. Ash, this was a fantastic story and I can’t wait for more of the Drop-In series and who is up next! 🖤 I loved watching the bond that grew between these characters especially the bonds that Ashlynn made with Anthony’s team. Also Mr. Anthony’s dirty mouth and spice scenes I think Ash put something in this book that made me not want to put it down! I need more of all of these characters!

Anthony and Ashlynn experience a critical event. The way they handled it is a good lesson in maturity and growth.
The way I was full-on sobbing at the end of this book! And the bike knowledge! I feel like I’ve been through a crash course in BMX Biking (in the best way!)
Thank you Ash Ryan for writing such a sweet and silly story with an exceptional FMC. I hope there are more stories to come with Anthony and Ashlynn’s friends.

What can I say about Tailwhip or more like where do I start?
This story follows Ashlynn Black who is aspiring to release her first novel, while freelancing as a ghostwriter as well. Then, we meet our sexy ass BMX rider Anthony MF Ville (seriously have you seen the character art of him & Ashlynn, holy smokes 🥵seriously check Ash Ryan’s IG for this.) the swoon we get from him is top tier. You can just feel the love and connection between these two.
We follow the quick build up of their relationship, all for it to come kind of crumbling down around them because Anthony had a stalker that attacks Ashlynn. He doesn’t handle the situation well at all and thinks breaking it off with her is for the best. The good though about them splitting for a bit, it shows both their characters grow in their own life’s. Anthony leaves to get back to his riding and Ashlynn gets started on her book tour. Once, they come face to face again at the end in Santa Cruz, CA it’s everything the build up lead you to hoped it would be. I love that these two got their Always, Always 💙

𝐀𝐧𝐭𝐡𝐨𝐧𝐲 is a pro BMX rider and he’s returning home after being away for four years. Things are about to get a little tense when he comes face to face with the girl who broke his heart all those years ago. Is there something still there?
𝐀𝐬𝐡𝐥𝐲𝐧𝐧 is a relatable character who still has guilt with choices from the past. She’s an aspiring writer and when her and Anthony are around each other more and more you can just FEEL that those feelings that they had for each other truly never went away.

Overall, this is a good storyline. It was a new sports romance, BMX, that I haven’t read or really seen in my scope of romance books. The second chance romance for Ashlynn and Anthony was cute - they made the trope their own. I would have loved to gain more insight into the characters falling back together rather than jumping right into them being together. The romance line just jumps right into them being back together, without any drama or buildup that warranted them being back together other than longing.
As a debut author, Ash Ryan has room to grow and develop her voice. The story felt jumpy at times, with time and place changing from one sentence to the next without indicating what was happening. There also was an overuse of exclamation points… I don’t know if that is the English teacher in me coming out, but it was a bit much. I am looking forward to see how Ash Ryan grows within this series and what will be next.

Loved it!
I don’t really know what to say for this one. I know this is the authors first book, so I feel additional editing could have been done, but it didn’t take away from the overall story of Anthony and Ashlynn.
Did I want to slap Anthony, or course I did. Oh, but our man came back in a big way to our girl 💜
The thing I love most about this sports romance, the focus was on action sports, which is something I haven’t really seen in the sports romance genre. This author did research too. As I was reading the tricks I looked them up and all are legit BMX tricks and they look so cool too!
Nothing beats a second chance romance, especially when they have such a strong pull toward one another. Can’t wait to start book 2. I loved all the characters. My favorites of course Ashlynn & Anthony, but I’m curious about Heath. She gives us just enough info about him to make you want more!

Tailwhip is Ash Ryan's debut book! I really enjoyed Ashlynn and Anthony's story. There were times I felt it was rushed, but it didn't take away from their love for each other. I often read sports romances, but I had never read anything about BMX before and loved learning about it throughout the book. I especially loved the other characters in their story. Found family sucks me in every time.
My favorite part was when Anthony was having a grumpy conversation with a worker who was trying to be friendly. The tag line used is something my husband says ALL the time, almost word for word. It felt like I was meant to read Ash's book. I cannot wait for the next book in the series. Who will it focus on? Nora/Nick or Chase/Cora?

I loved this book beginning to end and I also loved the tension between the two building up in their story. Even though it took me a while to finish because of personal things going on it was one that was hard to put down once started! Each chapter made me say, “oh one more and then I’m done” like five times😂
There’s a few things the author could work on writing style wise however I do not think it impacts the story’s value!
I’m excited for the new edition to come out and I can’t wait to write my review on that as well!!
P.S. Did I fail to mention that I loved this book so much that I had to buy the physical version right after I finished???? I had to put it in my library!!! Great job Ash and keep writing! We need more of you in the world🥰🥰🥰🥰

What a swoony book! Anthony and Ashlynn were just so meant yo be. Sometimes the obstacles have to happen for them to have been even more connected than the beginning. I loved their story and how it all began.
One thing I did like was that the story felt so real. I’m saying because romance is not always perfect and right here you get the story if what happens if two who loved each other lose each other and how they reunite.
It was a fun read. I loved the concept and how Anthony was a BMX rider. Different and unique. Oh, can’t forget, the spice! Explicit.

The premise of this book is soo good and I really wanted to like it, but unfortunately this is just not for me. I don't DNF books very often at all but I DNF'd this one at about 20% in. The reason for this is mostly just the way it's written. There are so many exclamation points everywhere and the writing style feels very wordy/waffly to me - I was getting bored. Also the romance and spicy scenes felt so rushed to me, like there was absolutely no build up I felt, and spicy scenes were over so quick. It really put me off the MMC and made me feel like he was being really pushy, he just felt a bit desperate to me.

So good! I loved it! This is the first novel I have read by this author but it won't be my last. This novel did not disappoint. I loved that the hero was a BMX star. I love a good second chance romance where the characters were high school sweethearts torn apart. From the first chapter I was hooked. Once I started reading I didn't want to put it down. I was on the edge of my seat reading and guessing what was coming next. I loved Anthony and Ashlynn story. I loved watching their walls and defenses come down and watching them reconnect and fall in love. Their chemistry was so good! I can hardly wait to see what this author has coming next.
