After their porcelain anniversary was left shattered, Harper and Scott live apart—Harper alone in the Seaport, and Scott in Bellevue with his nephew. But when a family wedding inevitably forces them together again, old memories and desires reignite. As the past and present collide, Harper must confront a monumental secret hidden from Scott while they appreciate the memories of who they were before and who they became after that ill-fated run on the bluff. Meanwhile, Harper becomes entangled with Thermal, a charming finance bro who lives in her building and occupies her summer days but fails to measure up to Scott as he tries to move into her summer nights. As Harper navigates her complicated feelings for Scott and examines her feelings for him, she must confront her hand in her failed marriage. But will their shared memories bring them closer or tear them apart? And what will happen when Scott learns that Harper has been keeping secrets from him—and that their past is more intertwined than he ever could’ve imagined? Bronze is a dark, loving, and passionate exploration of remembering who they were, who they became, and appreciating all the small things in between.
Heather White Driscoll is the author of Just Us, All In, Porcelain, and now Bronze, each part of the He Calls Me Harp Series. She is a wife to Patrick, a mother to Willow, a sister to many, and an aunt to countless. When she’s not inventing the lives of Scott and Harper, Heather works in investment software. She is an avid Peloton rider, a dedicated cheer mom, and a passionate baker. Heather’s writing style is deeply embedded in the Pacific Northwest, having grown up thirty miles north of Seattle on the small island of Whidbey in the even smaller town of Coupeville. She holds a bachelor’s in American Literature from the University of Massachusetts. The fifth in the series, Newlyweds, is due in 2025.
Such a beautiful conclusion to Scott and Harper’s love story. It came full circle with a lot of heartbreak and growth and it was beautiful to read. I love this series and Scott and Harper will always have a special place in my heart.
This book might have been my favorite in the series. The way Heather writes is so beautiful. I love how the book came full circle. It truly makes you fall in love with Scott and Harper again.
Bronze by Heather White Driscoll is book four in The He Calls Me Harp Series. This book picks up directly after the third one; if you’ve read Porcelain then you know why I was so excited yet terrified to read this book. These books aren’t standalones, you have to read them in order… as the island doesn’t forget. I read this book in hours, I didn’t want to put it down. Well let me start all this off by saying, I love this book. It’s absolutely incredible and surpasses everything I thought I would be expecting. What makes this so special is you can feel the love, the heart and the soul that was put into this book. It shines so brightly that I’m in complete and utter awe. This was without a shadow of doubt my absolute favorite of this whole series. It’s perfection…
I have no idea how to put into words what I want to say in this review. But don’t worry there will be zero spoilers so instead I’m going to write how this book made me feel and what I got from reading this. The journey that Scott and Harper go through is hard, poignant and in the end beautiful. A very relatable theme it’s realizing that the person who you were isn’t the person you are now. That you don’t have to stay in what you know. The use of reminiscing of memories each bridging a side to understanding. Also the tidbits and call backs all the way back to book one, where we finally learned what happened during specific times was amazing. The way truths were revealed, discussed, planned and implemented was astounding. The development that I’ve read these characters go through is growth plain and simple. Scott is not the same boy/man we met in Just Us. I’ve never been more proud of him and Harper. This journey my heart went through while reading this book is remarkable... I went back and forth feeling parts of my heart crack open. But by the end I felt complete, that everything was worth it. This has given me everything I could have wanted and more. The writing was phenomenal and in my opinion deserves an award; the descriptions make you feel you are a part of this world. I want to say so much more but I honestly believe that you need to read it for yourself as nothing I say will do this book justice. This book shines so incredibly bright as does Heather White Driscoll’s talent. I will leave you with two of my favorite (non-spoiler) quotes/lines: “We’ve always been selfish with each other…I’m glad we didn’t lose that.” “But our measure of success is between us. Not by any external standard.” (Bonus bc it made me laugh out loud) “This isn’t a wedding- it’s Coachella”
Final review: 5 out of 5 stars And a huge helping of hearts
Reading Heather White Driscoll’s "Bronze" felt like stepping into the heart of a story that resonated deeply with my own experiences of love and loss. The way Driscoll portrays Harper and Scott’s fractured relationship is incredibly moving. I found myself reflecting on my own past relationships, feeling Harper’s pain and longing as she navigates her feelings for Scott and her entanglement with Thermal.
The secrets and memories that surface throughout the novel are handled with such sensitivity and nuance. I was particularly struck by Harper’s internal conflict and the raw, honest way Driscoll writes about it. It made me reconsider how we all carry pieces of our past with us and how they shape our present.
"Bronze" is more than just a love story; it’s a profound exploration of how we come to terms with who we were and who we’ve become. Driscoll’s writing made me feel deeply connected to Harper’s journey, and I found myself captivated by every twist and turn. This book is a powerful reminder of the complexity of relationships and the impact of our personal histories. It’s a five-star read that touched my heart and stayed with me long after I turned the last page.
I am so incredibly grateful to my friend Megan for recommending this series to me. When she first suggested I read Just Us, I was on the fence, because people who know me know I love dark romance. And this series, while it does touch on some really dark topics, is not your typical dark romance. Reading this series is a journey and it was one that I wan’t prepared for, but I’m so thankful that I got to go on. Having Heather there to walk alongside me while I was on it, was another gift that I was not expecting. I think the reason this book resonates so well with me, is because of the timing. It took place in the same era that I grew up, in the 80’s and 90’s, so the struggles Harper faces are struggles that I have faced. There are parts of this book, where I absolutely hated the path that they were going down and was frantically messaging Heather. But after having read the series I can honestly say, that I wish I had a love like Scott and Harpers. Even thought they had to go through proverbial hell, the journey to come out the other side was epic.
Remembering the highlights with Scott and Harper has to be one of my top ten reading experiences. Everyone including their parents have ideas of their own when it comes to this power couple but none of their opinions matter in the end because they are durable and can get through anything together. I enjoyed seeing them date during their summer apart. I enjoyed reading about Harper's pregnancy and Morgan's big day. Reading Bronze has me remembering the early years of dating my now husband of almost seven years. I didn't like Barrets appearance in the book but found it tied up everything and was necessary. I disliked Marie's choices in not telling Scott about Mia and Christian. It really angered me in a way that my mother in law angers me lol. I love how involved Scott became with Christian and then with Skylar. The intimate moments with family dynamics really suited the story and we're well written. Heather White Driscoll puts heart and soul into her characters. I'm excited for her next book. She is in my exclusive auto buy author list and I highly recommend this series!
The character growth for them both is amazing but you can truly see that this series was always about Scott and not so much about harper. This is about his growth as a person but still includes her growth as a person. I can’t think of a better way for this series to come full circle and complete itself. I can definitely see why it’s your favorite Heather. If I had to pick just one out of your series I couldn’t do it because I love All In. It’s my favorite because the raw emotions and the pain and heartbreak and the start of healing and the before. But Bronze is right next to it in my #1 spot because we get those raw emotions again for a different reason. Scott finds out that it was never his fault and it was never about harper it was solely about Barrett and how he felt about Scott and how he wanted to go pro but knew he couldn’t do that without Scott. I cried for almost the whole first half of the book. The dates, the therapy sessions, the characters standing on their own and growing into who they were always meant to be. It’s truly a beautiful story and left me speechless with how beautiful and heartbreaking and fulfilling the whole series is. I know we’re getting Newlyweds but I’m truly sad to see this series ending. But will forever be grateful to you for sharing it with all of us.
PS….. Heather toed the line between spice and smut with one of these scenes and I was shocked.
The fourth book in the series, this book picks right up where the third left off. Harper was crushed, her husband Scott told her to go, told her he didn’t love her. He said some hateful things. So Harper leaves and goes back to Boston. When she gets home she finds out she’s pregnant. Now mind you she was told it would be very hard for her. She decided to keep the pregnancy a secret. Scott won’t speak to her. Harper’s try’s and try’s to call him and text him and nothing. Weeks go buy and she receives a call from an unknown number. It’s Scott he only talks for 5 minutes So every evening at a 11 they have a phone date. They learn about each other more. They figure out just how truly special they are. This book is emotional as well but you learn a lot from the other books. You will be shocked. You must read.
I have to confess that some books in this series have left me feeling broken in the end. It’s not a bad thing, as I love a story that evokes real emotions, but it’s still heavy. Bronze has left me feeling floaty and happy and all of those warm and fuzzies. It’s not to say this story is all rainbows and butterflies, but it’s Harper and Scott’s story which is why it’s special.
The author has a way of writing these characters as if they’re our friends. I find myself rooting for them like they’re real people whom I love. It makes the ride all the more enjoyable.
I don’t want to give any spoilers but I have read all of the books in this series and this one is my absolute favorite.
“I’ll make excuses for him and let him off the hook until the day I die.”
What can I say?!? Harper and Scott. What more can one couple go through! Harper finding out she was pregnant in book two was jaw dropping and seeing her go through it in this book was everything! Oh my! I’m not going to lie she did managed to upset at times in this book but I understood why she had to hide the pregnancy from Scott but still she would upset me but the fact that their bond was so strong! He was able to come to terms with his demons and that’s something he needed to do alone and Harper needed to let that happen so that they could actually be. I enjoyed this book so much because it definitely made me go through all my emotions! Happy, mad, frustrated, annoyed and overall excited!

it’s taken me so long to write a review for this book… i’ve reread it 3 times, and each times i am just as speechless as the first time i read it. i love and adore this series so much, but this book- is so special to me. bronze has helped me so much. more than i could ever express into words, to the point that i, myself feel like i have also gone through 1100 hours of therapy.😅 scott and harper hold a very special place in my heart. i 1000% recommend this book, let alone the series. i still don’t really know how to form my thoughts into words quite yet, and i don’t know if i ever will be. this book is just that good!
This book was so special! It was a beautiful chapter in this couples story! I love how well Scott & Harper are written! Anyone who hasn't read this beautiful love story needs to ASAP! Heather is a wonderful person too! She is so engaged with her readers and is always willing to answer any questions you have! This has been my favorite series to read ever! Can't wait for more from her in the future!!
This one hit me in all the feels. Heather did an amazing job again and I loved every bit of this book 😍
I don't want to ruin the surprises or anything for you but this was an amazing continuation to the Harp and Scott story. The character and story development was even better this time, which is saying something considering how well it was done in the last book. 😁😅
This book, the whole series and Heather herself are at the top of my favorites list this year. I 100% recommend this book and the all the other ones, just remember to check all triggers 🥰
This is what I needed from this book. I was left so frustrated and angry with book 3 I needed it to mend my heart, which it did! Scott and Harper will always have a special place in my heart. They relationship grows so much from the first book and I am glad to see that despite their struggles and the events that occurred they were able to figure it out together and not just grow individually but together as well. This was such a good series and can't wait to read more from Heather.
Bronze. What a beautiful story for a beautiful couple...far from perfect but beautiful nonetheless. Ever since reading the bonus chapter of Porcelain I have been impatiently waiting for MORE. Harper & Scott's love story is so real & raw..and I feel like this part of their lives truly resonates the most.
It definitely delivers all the "glossy" feels of Just Us in a very different way. This is definitely a comfort series for me. All the feels! It's very nostalgic, with plenty of tears & even more laughs..
Beef bullet Thrill hammer Lavender
Heather truly cracks me up! If you've read the books then you're probably pretty familiar with Scott's "Meat Market" 😂😂
***REVIEW*** Name: Bronze Author: Heather White Driscoll Rate: 5 🌟
~Bronze had my emotions all over the place…. I love Harper and the woman she has become…. But honestly, I am happy with how this series turned out. These characters will forever be in my heart. Even though I came to an end I wish we can get more…
Another 5 star read!! Love the entire 4 book series! Harper and Scott’s relationship is so raw and relatable, you can’t help but fall in love with them!! Heather’s writing is amazing and her books will make you laugh, cry and smile!! I highly recommend this series!! You will not be disappointed!!
Another amazing read! This series is just EVERYTHING! I love the ups and downs, and the two main characters are so loveable. The author ties in the prior books into this one so well! Reading Harper and Scott's relationship unfold through their high and low points, is so pure.
This book is amazing! I love this raw and emotional story of Harper and Scott!! This is the 4 th book in series. Soooo amazing!! Everyone needs to read this series!!
I absolutely love Scott and Harper! This book sparked all my emotions. I was happy, sad, mad, shocked, hopeful, and speechless at times. The ending was completely beautiful and felt like a warm hug. It was the ending I didn't know I needed.
I could not have asked for a more satisfying ending for Scott and Harpers journey. From teens to maturing adults. From falling in love to stuggles and heartbreak. Love always finds the way.
Thank you Heather for such a satisfying series, it was so worth the wait.
Going into this book…I’ll admit I got very angry with Harper…only because I’m Scott biased 🙃💀 I will always love Scott….but this story was so beautiful and a beautiful journey…I did go into this book knowing they were split..and or separated but I didn’t expect them to be separated like half of the book 😭 it tore me apart…but this book is supposed to show who they were before a certain person screwed it up for them! 😭 and I loved this story as a whole going back into it with a different view!
The best thing about a series is when it comes back full circle.
The He Calls Me Harp series is full circle. It’s so crucial to meticulously read the books because it’s so easy to miss little things that are ultimately important in the next book.
Overall this book was truly a masterpiece.
Heather takes her time and thinks about every little detail when it comes to the storyline and it makes a huge difference.
The book picks up right where Porcelain was left. It’s said to be a darker book and it does have darker aspects which ties into the book perfectly. Bronze truly makes you fall back in love with Harper and Scott, it makes you root for them but also admire their growth together and separately.
It’s hard to go more in-depth without spoiling the book! I highly recommend everyone to read this series. I feel like I know these characters in real life or like I’m watching a movie and it just makes reading all that better.
