Goooood start! The beginning was a bit rough, slow, and confusing as hell but the last 100 pages? Probably the reason why I gave this book a 4.5stars rating. I was pretty impressed by how much more gruesome this series seems to be, compared to the first one. And I prefer it a lot. I loveee this kind of stuff, gimme more gimme more. More blood. More disturbing cases. I'm all for it.
As for the characters, I like them. We still don't know much but the traumas I can smell from both of them? Delicious. Hopefully they won't disappoint in terms of the depth of their characters because with the way it was hinted, my expectation kinda went through the roof as a response to that. As much as I begrudgingly adore Yan Xie, Chonghua seems more like my type. (I'm sorry, and not sorry at the same time cause YX really is annoyingly lovable.) I like his cold but secretly kind demeanour and oh boi is he a handsome lad. Wuyu though, this guy is full of surprises. I became more and more invested the more I read about him. I want to know all about his pasts, his traumas, his personalities, and everything he is capable of. And even though the chemistry between the two leads might not be overflowing now, I can feeeeel it brewing and can't wait to see how it will turn out in the future. Hopefully, they will maintain this mature x mature chemistry they are giving off now but with how affected Chonghua is? I'm not so sure about that anymore. This guy seems like he will be just as down bad as his cousin. Talking about his cousin, I can't wait for YX's and JT's cameos!!! I miss them so much.
Oh and one more thing. The action scenesssssssssss, so gooood, so entertaining and satisfying. WUYU SURELY KNOWS HOW TO FIGHTTTTTTT. I love that. Fuck I'm loving this!!!
