KANNAZUKI, Vol. 1: The Beast Of Akune

Rate this book
The evil wizard is dead and the heroes have all gone home. After a thousand years, no one remembers what the fight was about. Akune is ruled by oppressive nobles who care for little more than their own power. The common folk toil their lives away, just trying to get by. But today is different. Today, the evil wizard returns. Will he be a blessing or a curse? And, if you could ask him, do you think he'd know?

It is a love story. A horror story. A dark comedy and series of tragically flawed characters. It's about the price of power and what you have to sacrifice to get it. It is about greed and envy, and what happens to those who succumb to it. And, of course, it's about a girl. It is also a book. Enjoy!

Where is book five? I know book five is out in Japan. When is it coming to the US? Books one through four seems to cover the origins arc. When is the next?

The Beast of Akune is a thrilling, mind-blowing ride that showcases the power of human ingenuity and perseverance. With its unique blend of humor, romance, and high-stakes drama, the novel keeps you hooked from start to finish. The Villain's journey to save the world is full of heart, clever twists, and unexpected moments that make you cheer for the bad guy every step of the way.

A strong recommendation for any fan of light novels who enjoys action/adventure stories with an interesting mix of characters that will have you laughing one second and crying the next.
The setting of this book was inspired from some of the elements in The Apothecary Diaries and Slayers. It's a familiar world, which allows readers to feel at home.

The cover on this volume is the reason I started reading Kannazuki light novels, since Goge is my favorite character in the series and he is a different now that he is older, but still my favorite. A lot of new characters in this series and I wonder what Yuka plans to do with them. Will they go on to join the larger cast or will they just try to keep the city together?

The Villain's journey to save the world is full of heart, clever twists, and unexpected moments that make you cheer for the bad guy every step of the way. The story is full of angst, drama, romance, and fantasy that will keep you hooked from beginning to end.
The characters in this novel are fascinating, and I found myself growing to like and care about them as I read on. The ending left me wanting more.

I never really liked fantasy/magic and stuff. But I liked Game Of Thrones so I guess thats not really true. Maybe there is a difference between fantasy genre and stories that are just set in other worlds. Yukka Miura is a great author. She really knows how to grab someone's interest and keep you nailed to your seat for hours on end. The first few chapters really had me glued and it makes me wonder if she could make an entire series just out of the Vassago/Teric drama. I'd read that.

This book blew my fricken mind. Its about this guy that comes back from the dead, but its not really from his perspective. There is a huge cast of characters that freak out and don't know what to do. Lily is my favorite! The whole series is incredible, but I'm not done with book four yet. If it ends badly I'll be mad.

The Japanese version was much better and I take offense at 'Sato' being changed to 'Hammond'. It seems like the American crew really tried to do the series justice but some things just do not translate into English. If you are OCD like me, learn Japanese.

If not, you will likely be a fan of Mogami International.

Way too short i read all four and Im still not sure who the main character is. Its like a rollercoaster of B plots. I wouldn't call it fantasy though, well I guess its Japanese fantasy. Struck me as more of a drama/romance than fantasy. Really it seems to be more about the city and the people in it, like an HBO series in book format.

Yuka Miura's Kannazuki Series is a breathtaking, sensual story about the thin line between good and evil. The book is an intense, heart-wrenching journey into the heart of an orphan whose soul is torn between her morality and the powers of darkness. The book is full of angst, drama, romance, and fantasy that will keep you hooked from beginning to end.

BOA kept me up all night and left me with a deep longing for more. It was one of those books that I wanted to curl up in bed and lose myself in for days. The writing is beautifully descriptive, the characters are well-written and believable, and the story is full of drama and suspense. I couldn't put it down and had to keep going back to reread certain parts again and again.

These novels are SO FUN! I hope the author lives a very long and happy fulfilling life and keeps making this incredible series for many more years. This reads like a collection of short stories but I swear the whole thing comes together.

They say it is a romance but I defy you to say that Hammond and Nina are not in love with each other. Bet.
