Phase One of the insomnia treatment trial is over, and Tasha has begged Hugh to add her to Phase Two, which pays more money. It pays more because it's dangerous: a stronger treatment that would leave Tasha even more unaware and vulnerable under his watch. He'd be able to do even more to her than he did in Phase One.
Getting Tasha into Phase Two is putting his job at risk, as well as her health. And those risks come with a high price. A price she'll never know she paid.
