A solid western novella, a young man has to grow up fast when his world falls apart. Taylor works on a ranch owned by a family who took him in when his parents died. While returning to the ranch after a trip to town, he discovers that the ranch had been attacked by the Boucher gang, leaving everyone dead except the family's young son of twelve. The daughter Emma was also still alive but was kidnapped. Taylor vowed revenge and to get his beloved Emma back. However he isn't really equipped for this adventure, he is not really a fighter. Will he be able to grow up fast enough to do what he vowed to do?
Recommended, it's a quick read and a good start to what looks to be at least three tales. There is a preview to the second tale at the end of the ebook for this one. Now that the building of the world and main character is done it seems the second will be even better.
