Death has been waiting for me. If I can survive him, I might finally uncover who I really am.

Apollo is gone. My broody reaper boss has just… vanished.

But me? I’m in an even bigger pickle. Not only does every demon in the city seem to want my blood, but I find myself face to face with Death himself, who has been missing for years. Turns out, I have an important role to play in keeping the natural balance. And if I fail… everyone I care about in Rosethorne City dies.

Between a treacherous journey to the Underworld, dealing with shifty demons, and uncovering secret plots… I have my work cut out for me. But as my magic strengthens and revelations of my past come to light, it becomes clear I’m only a pawn in a sick, twisted game where it doesn’t matter if I win or lose—Death will be there to greet me either way.

Miri Cosette is an urban fantasy author always looking around the corner for sparks of old magic in our fast-paced, technology-driven world. Inspired by mythology and folklore, her books are her playground, where fairies, vampires, shifters, and mermaids exist. When she’s not arguing with her characters or struggling to remember words (what’s that spinny thing on the ceiling again? Oh, yeah — a fan), she’s slowly chipping away at her miles-long TBR, traveling, trying new restaurants, attempting to play musical instruments, and watching documentaries. She lives in Nebraska with her adoring husband and snarky shiba inu.

Reapers Apprentice brings it, in this epic second book in The Reapers of Rosethorne City. Harper can’t find her mentor Apollo and the demon that killed her the first time? Well he just came back for another shot at it. Now as Harker stands before death. Who by the way is still a tad peeved (she was alive again) has been told by the Fates Harper is important and needs to be sent back. Well well so what’s death to do. draw up a new contract and make her a Reapers Apprentice for real. 1st task save Apollo from the underworld. 2nd figure out how to get her memories back, and 3rd save Rosethorne city. I mean it’s all in a days work right?? If you love fast action, plot twists and an MC to die for. This is the series for you.

Harper 'a bir anlaşma önerir. #rosethorne şehrinin kuruluşu Harper 'a bağlıdır.

The world that was developed in this series is breathtaking. I love the characters, the plot, and how it makes you feel all the feels. There is backstabbing, adventure, surprising reunions and maybe a bit of romance.

Harper is a strong FMC that doesn't have any memory of who she was before becoming Apollo's assistant. But she desperately wants to find out. She tries everything she can to bring her memories back but nothing has worked. We start book two where the first book left off. Slater backstabs Harper by trying to use her to open a portal after he gets rid of Apollo. Nothing goes as planned and now Harper goes through many obstacles in the Underworld to get Apollo back. She believes that he is the key to unlocking her memories and powers.

After everything she has gone through, her memories are still gone. However, she meets a stranger who is familiar to her and starts getting her memories back little by little. She realizes that this stranger is the key somehow to her memory block. But will she like what she will remember about her past or will she accept it and help in any way possible.

Great book and I'm so happy that the author is writing another book for the series. But make sure to grab some tissues since there is some tender moments that will happen.

Wow, this is a wild ride of a book!

Picking up from where the first book ended it’s action packed, intense and funny. Harper gets a promotion, meets the big boss and heads into the underworld to find Apollo. Sounds straightforward? Just wait until Harper gets there.

Harper’s progression is lighting fast in this book as the story has moved on decisively since the end of book one. With a riveting sub-plot in the underworld Harper discovers considerably more than she was expecting. The scene-scape here is so juicy and colourful I could almost see a spin-off happening.

Back in Rosethorne City feathers have been ruffled amongst the reapers. Harper’s reluctant to take the next step in her reaper training and just as she’s adjusting to her new existence she stumbles upon a clue that could unlock her memories and possibly change everything…

We discover answers to some of Harper’s unknowns in this book, and I love how the author’s storytelling really brings everything together. I’m really looking forward to the final book.

Totally bowled over, this was an amazing attention grabbing continuation of book one. Slater kills Harper again and she's given the option by non other than Death to become a reaper as The Fates requested it. Harper sets off with Slade as her guide, venturing into the Underworld to find the missing Apollo and bring him back and is captured by the Demon Prince who enlightened her that her memories were locked by herself. A challenge has to be won to get back to Rosethorn City. The slow burn between her and Appollo finally burns hotter much to my delight. Fast paced, puzzles were solved, true identities revealed, family connected to be lost tragically, a city saved for now and a war declared. Your creative writing was mind boggling Miri, bring on book 3 as I'm already drooling about it.
I received an advanced review copy and leave this review voluntary Thank you, I definitely recommend this series

Miri left us dangling off the edge of a cliff with the ending of Reaper's Assistant. Reaper's Apprentice takes off from that exact spot.

And all I can say is: Cosette did it again. Reaper's Apprentice is as good if not better than Reaper's Assistant.

How can that be? you ask.

I have no idea because the first book was amazing.

In book two, we learn about Harper's past which helps with character development. We get to journey into the Underworld, a new setting. And we get some insight into Apollo.

Miri is a master storyteller, and after holding onto that cliff, my fingers got plenty of exercise flipping the pages as quickly as I could.

I need book three NOW!!!

Even better than Book One of Reapers of Rosethorne City!

I didn’t think it would be possible, but Miri Cosette managed to make this second book even better than the first. Thankfully, Reaper’s Apprentice picks up right where Book One leaves off so we don’t miss any of the action. It’s not often that this happens, but not only did I laugh out loud while reading this, I also cried. The story is not only funny at parts, but also very emotional at others. I can’t wait for the next installment of the Reapers of Rosethorne City with Harper, Apollo, Slater and all of the other Reapers to see what happens next!

This second part of this serial about Harper is a well written story that grabbed me from the beginning to the end. Miri Cosette wrote another twisty, edge of your seat dramatic paranormal story. This is a great serial to read by a new author that I highly recommend. Our main character is Harper whose memory of who she was before becoming Apollo's assistant apprentice is gone and is searching for answers is a strong well define character I'd love. This story was a great follow-up from the first book "Reaper's Assistant". In this Harper travels to the Underworld to get Apollo back. Does she succeed? I volunteer to read and review this copy I'd received.

I loved this book, it pulled me in from the start and kept me reading to the end. The book picks up where Reaper’s Assistant, the first book in the series, ended, and delivers a roller-coaster ride to the underworld and back. We learn more about the characters' history, as well as the angel-demon-fae politics, and get a glimpse at what conflicts await. Can’t wait to read the next book, highly recommended.

I received an advance review copy for free, and I am leaving this review voluntarily.

What an awesome follow up to Assistant! I loved that we really focused on Harper's story and what drove her to make her deal with Apollo. And the reveal with her being an angel?! A twist I was not ready for. The workup and pay off to Harper's memories being restored was also excellently done. I think this was just a beautifully crafted follow up with YET ANOTHER torturous cliffhanger from Miri Cosette. Can't wait to see where we go next!

After finishing the first book, I couldn’t wait to jump right into the second. I was hooked from the first page and could not get through the book fast enough! I was intrigued by the FMC’s trip to the Underworld and the continuation of the world building for this series. Overall, I was fascinated by the entire plot and looking forward to the final book in the series! Highly recommend for urban fantasy book lovers!

Gah! So good!!!!! Harper is such a full fledged character that the reader feels everything she does. There's excitement, pain, heartache, happiness. So many emotions, so much determination. I loved all the twists, the new characters, the new settings. I will be patiently, yet anxiously, awaiting the next book in the series. I can't recommend this highly enough!

Ahhhh Miri has done a fantastic job with the follow up to Reaper’s Assistant. You get to see Harper become kind of a badass. You get a lot of questions answered from the first book but then have new questions that probably aren’t going to be answered till book 3. I love the world that Miri has built and all the characters in it. I’ll be chomping at the bit till the next one come out!

I loved this entertaining and engaging UF storyline with drama, danger, betrayal, action, secrets revealed, and memories restored. The MCs are defined, have attraction and chemistry, and need rescuing. I enjoyed the storyline. I voluntarily read an ARC and this is my honest review.

Wow! So unlike anything else. This was a truly unique way of viewing angels and demons, and it was amazing. Well developed characters, great worldbuilding, and a solid plot. This series did everything right.

The books do end on a cliffhanger, but the series is complete.

The blurb on this book does not do it justice. I’m not saying it is a work of art but the vibes are 100%. I need book three to come along ASAP.

I love Harper, I love Apollo, part of me even loves Slater. I feel as though Cosette really knows how to suck you in and get you attached to the characters. She gives you just enough to want more without being bored. The tension is also amazing and Apollo is giving off touch her and die vibes which who doesn’t love?

This Psychic Suspense is striking. With Apollo gone and Harper dead, she must remember who she was before Rosethorne City crumbles.

This story resembles the change curve: things get worse before eventually they get better. Harper's character growth is a primary focus of this title. As she regains her memories, more of the danger is exposed. Ultimately, the tale reaches a satisfying end.

Easy-to-read. Entertaining. Haunting. Romantic. Scary. Tragic. Unpredictable. Wonderful characters.

I loved this book as much as the first! This is an excellent urban fantasy, and I'm very particularly about my urban fantasy. If you loved Charlie and Reyes, then you'll love Harper and Apollo. It's fresh and fun, and I read it in one sitting. I can't wait for book three!

I was given a copy of this book and I'm voluntarily leaving a review.
