If We Get Through This Trip

Rate this book
Priscilla, an introspective young woman, finds herself at a crossroads with her boyfriend, Chase, when he is ready to take the relationship to the next level, and she is not. Chase invites her on a biennial family trip to meet his extended family, and she sees this trip as the perfect opportunity to understand why she isn't ready to progress after three years.

As Priscilla navigates a new environment with a family she could one day be married into, she begins to understand why her intuition is holding her back. Each day Priscilla spends in tranquil Lake Tahoe, her inner dialogue grows louder, unearthing the reason behind her uncertainty. Through verbal and non-verbal communication, nature, and alone time, Priscilla learns more about relationship dynamics, listening to intuition, and the life she wants.

my dear friend released her first book and i am so proud of her! this is a contemporary coming-of-age short story about a young woman, Priscilla, discovering herself, specifically as it pertains to her current relationship thats come to a standstill. our FMC is introspective, intuitive, and humorous.

i appreciate how no one was villainized in this book. there was room for nuance and grace here for our morally grey characters. there was quite the plot twist that i wasnt expecting, in which a side character’s story unexpectedly contributed to the main character’s journey. it really touched me.

there are many relatable experiences and quotes here. also… vanderpump rules mentioned🫡

i walked away from this feeling hopeful and inspired. highly recommend this if you’re looking for a quick read 💓💫 oh and i need the sequel yesterday.

“I don't know if I believe you can be so deep in a situation that you can't get out, but I know I won't be sticking around to find out. I turn back towards the trees. They finally gave me my answer, but they didn't have to—I knew all along.” -Alisa Carradine

This story was so easy to get lost in.. and relate! With the imagery and descriptive details Priscilla takes you on a journey that navigates different relationships (and their ups and downs) , expresses what following your intuition looks like, and outlines the importance of being your authentic self. A welcome home journey for women going through trail and error during a long term relationship

The book can be made into a movie. I love the twist and turns of the drama. The characters in the story brings life to the story. I have never been a fan of romance books but I do love this short but life book. I can’t wait for more.
